This place is amazing! I dropped my car off late afternoon on Fri 9/17 & a few hours later they called to say the oil change & inspection were complete. They had my needed repairs done the next day by mid-morning! They were so polite & helpful! They called me every step of the way - apologizing that they werent faster! I will definitely be making them my go-to car repair place & referring friends their way!

They are very busy. They have great customer service. They were honest and upfront about the issues they found on my car and how much it would cost. They even directed me to another shop to get my exhaust fixed at a cheaper price than they could do. Ill be coming back for future service.

Had a nail in my tire, on my way to work. Another driver made me aware. On a holiday, I called, they said they would get me in and out in less than s hour. They did! Very friendly, fast and reliable! I have never seen this before on a Firestone and I completely am not very sure if I want to again.A lady was checking in and she completely blew my mind. Asked my last name and I gave it. She then quickly wanted to know why I was there. I was surprised because I made an appointment with the reason but told her, I was told $65 to check ABS light. I think its high to connect something they will anyway to see the problem. I wanted brakes but she said you just dont replace a part and hope it works.Well I said jokingly , why we have done it for a 100 years . Actually its done everyday and in garages too. I have been told we dont know if it will fix it before. Uh...But I would tell the rest but I have come here many times and not asking for my full name led to telling me didnt have an account.Needless to say I ask for someone to check me in other than her.I understand mistakes but you can accept them and continue on. Not tell another reason for it and it be wrong.I DO LOVE THIS LOCATION JUST A LITTLE NEGATIVITY TODAY.

Took my car here to be inspected and they failed my car. Now under normal circumstances I would have paid them for the work needed to pass my car. However, I spent a lot of money preparing to get my car inspected and they failed my car for things that I just had done. For starters they said the brakes were bad. I just paid for all new brakes, they said my seatbelt was frayed bc one small pieces of fabric was coming off of it. They claimed one tire was bald but they were all just replaced. Windshield wiper blades, just replaced. Broken motor mount yet my mechanic who works on my car said I do not have a broken motor mount and the worst of all is them saying something was wrong w my exhaust. Considering I had just paid them to fix it and a day after it started sounding bad again we took it right back. They said it was fine. But now it’s cracked and failed my inspection. These people are crooks. Do not go here. Don’t go here for repairs either bc they will not assume responsibility if they do something to mess up your car. They’ll claim it’s fine and fail you later.

I will say that I am a bit concerned that though I was very happy with this location I appear to have been with a weekend (Sunday) crew. I had never been there on a weekend.I still was sent away with an A-OK BUT I am afraid I was lied to. My trust and patience is no longer here.I make an appointment with the reason for coming as need front brakes and rotors most likely.I was told their machine didnt read the secondary modules a I asked, how about the brakes and I was looked at and told they are okay.I left thinking I had brakes and no they were grinding and I stopped and the front brakes and rotors were bad...really bad.Which means they did not check my brakes I asked to be replaced .Unexceptable and send me out with brakes that didnt work properly but remember, he said it was good.I told Firestone Corporate and they said they would get back. Vi had to spend $400 elsewhere.I dont understand what passes for customer service anymore.

I highly recommend this place of business. I had a new rim placed on a new tire. Neither were purchased at this business.Getting an appointment was easy.The location of this business is ideal.It was not only extremely easy to find but also allowed me to walk around and also browse nearby stores instead of waiting in lobby. However, the lobby was clean and television is provided.Staff was efficient, polite and professional.The work was done quickly.I highly recommend this business.

Made an online appointment to fix a rough ride that my car was producing related to the wheels. These guys 1) performed a full vehicle inspection 2) identified the problem and 3) replaced two tires (fixing my issue) in less than three hours. My car rides smoothly again. Firestone at Tanglewoods staff was honest and straightforward with what my car needed. They didnt try to sell more than what was necessary for my vehicle to run efficiently. Friendly and responsive staff. I will definitely be bringing my car back to this Firestone location in the future. 10/10 recommend!

I called during the week to schedule a state inspection, and they assured me it would be done on Sunday. They told me to drop my car off Saturday night and they would have it done early Sunday and I asked 3 times to double check and make sure it would be done Sunday, and they called me this morning telling me they couldn’t do the inspection and told me that it was first come first serve. Considering I dropped my car off the night before the service, I would expect that that was first come first serve. I normally don’t have an issue with Firestone, but this was a COMPLETE inconvenience. Let me put out there too, I made the appointment online and on the phone, so they were WELL aware of my appointment.

I needed a tire pretty badly and other places were giving me the runaround because its a specialty tire. I called this store out of desperation and they could not have been more helpful on the phone. Drove to Roanoke from Union Hall and after a little snafu I left with better tires at the same price and will definitely be using Firestone in the future. The employees were kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them.

Do not go here!!! Worst alignment experience of my life! Being a tech for ten years, I try to be understanding, but being lazy is unacceptable. They had the nerve to give me a sheet showing my alignment had not been done and was still out of spec. They then lied and said it was non adjustable, well it is, and he was just lazy. Then I drive off trying to be nice and cut my losses, but find my steering wheel is slanted to the right. So I will be bringing it back and asking them to actually do their job or refund me. Hopefully the manager steps up, if not corporate usually will!

I wish that I could post with ZERO stars. That is how much work they did. SadI had an appointment for 4 tires at 1:30 and I arrived early at 1:00. I checked in and gave them my keys. They stated that it would be ready in an hour or an hour and a half and that they would contact me when it was ready. THREE HOURS later I called them because I had not heard from them. The person at Firestone said that they hope to get my car in the shop - soon. This meant that in THREE HOURS they had not done anything.I could not wait longer. I took my car to Mr. Tire.Firestone earns a big Zero.Firestone failed.Firestone employees Do not tell the truth.Firestone stole three hours of my life.Firestone does not do what they say they will.Do not trust Firestone.Sad day for me.

I recently took my Toyota 4runner in for a new tire and to have the tires rotated. I asked the manager Jamey if he would mind if I could took a look underneath my vehicle while they had it on the lift for the tire rotation. He said that wouldnt be a problem and he came out with me to take a look. I let him know about a problem I was having with the vehicle whenever I would come to a stop at a traffic light. When describing the problem to Jamey he was able finish my sentence for me when I was telling him what was happening. Turns out, my drive shaft needed some grease and Jamey took care of it at no charge. Better yet, Jamey was right on the money with his diagnosis and my 4runner no longer has this problem. I have been dealing with this for over a year and to have it fixed in a matter of minutes at no charge was amazing. I cant thank Jamey enough for his courtesy, knowledge, and willingness to help when I had no clue what the problem was. I appreciate him going the extra mile with my issue and these guys will always have my business. Thanks Jamey.Brian Wilburn

Brought my car in for an inspection, when it was done told them to slap a sticker on it and I’ll be in ASAP to pick it up. They said “sounds great” I got to the store 25 minutes later and they left it on the lift and told me the mechanic went to lunch in the middle of putting it back together and I had to wait another half hour to an hour. Very unprofessional and never coming back.

Hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had with a car shop, especially one that was a chain. Usually chain shops are impersonal and charge way too much, but these guys are super helpful, very polite, and the prices very fair. They charged more than half of what the Honda dealer had estimated for all of the procedures I needed. Jamey (he’s the best!) even told me the procedures that weren’t necessary, just Honda trying to make a quick buck. They are very knowledgeable and efficient: they estimated my car would be ready around 2 or 3pm and I got a call that it was ready to go at 11:30! Very grateful for all their help!

If they cant put center caps back on correctly, they probably cant fix your car. - Took my car in to have tires mounted and balances, checked the car and a center cap came off. Told my service adviser, no big deal. Tires werent balanced correctly, took the car back in. They re-balanced so I checked the center caps. Two came off this time. Talked to the manager. He apologized and told me he would talk with the service tech. OK, so what about the last tech? Do I need to explain to each tech how to put center caps back on? If you cant put a center cap back on, I understand why my tires werent balanced correctly. Manager assured me it was road balanced this time. Why not last time? Well, it might be the tire he tells me. Right, $1,000 set of tires is the culprit here; not the guy that cant install center caps. No, they were balanced this time. So it was the fault of the tech the first time. I guess it was easier to blame the tire than admit your tech didnt care about doing a good job.Is this a big deal? No. Its not. So why write the review? Well, if they cant balance tires or even put on center caps, I would highly suggest you think twice about letting them work on your brakes or another major component. While my wheel caps might have flown off, I would still keep driving. If they somehow *forgot* to install caliper bolts or torque them down, well, lets just say you wouldnt be able to keep driving.

Both Nancy (at the front desk) and Scott (the technician who mounted and aligned my new tires) went above and beyond in providing information and services. Nancy made three tire recommendations, provided details on their free tire rotation and alignment services, as well as providing details regarding the Firestone Tire Promotion. Scott not only mounted and aligned the tires, but also replaced a burned out taillight bulb I was unaware of. He also adjusted the tire pressure on my spare tire that was causing the ‘low tire pressure’ warning signal on my dash to remain on all the time. I had asked other service centers what was causing that warning and NONE of them found the cause until Scott checked my spare tire. He also filled my windshield washer reservoir. Great service at this store!!!!

This is the worst Firestone (and I have been a long time customer at others). Went for a state inspection and had to leave the car 3 days to get it done. I called at 4:00 on Sunday to check in and I was rudely told “We told you 5:00 and it’s not 5:00.” After a minor blinker concern (new headlight rim blinked with blinker) tried to schedule the follow-up appointment. Was told “no worries it takes seconds just come on in.” Headed in to find out 1 hour+ wait. Asked if we could schedule a time for tomorrow since we were told it would take seconds and guy says nope - It’s first come first. Little care for the customer, the time, or just simply better communication.

These guys are amazing. I was traveling across country for a vacation and got stranded in Roanoke due to some car trouble. Jamey went so far above and beyond to get us back on the road in a timely manner. He was the only guy in the area to help us out on a Saturday morning and went as far as personally pushing my vehicle around the parking lot trying to get it back running. I highly recommend them to anyone. One of my best experiences with an auto mechanic ever. He even gave me a follow up call after I was back on the road to make sure we were okay. Exceptional service.

Never go to Firestone, they are crooks. Find a good, honest independent mechanic instead. Smaller garages are more likely to want to earn your trust, because they need your business and want your loyalty. Mitchells in Garden City, Steves in Vinton, and Henry Williams in N. Roanoke are all good choices.

I am giving them three star simply because they are prompt and took care of my stepdaughter. However, they charged her $20 to tighten a loose valve stem core. That is all she asked for. It takes about two seconds. She had the tire in her truck and she left with it in her trunk. They didnt even put it back on the car for that price. I can mount and balance an entire set for $40. I recommend visiting your local auto dealer.

I find that they do honest repairs at honest prices. They also keep you posted throughout the repair process. So there are no surprise costs. I will return for the next repair!

Worst place ever!! I will never take my car to this place ever again. They told me I needed a whole new radiator and I was about to pay almost 900 for that and something just told me to wait and take my car somewhere else. Come to find out I didn’t even need a new radiator just had to replace one piece that only cost 45.00. Just to think I was about to pay all that money for nothing. They are nothing but scam artists and crooks! They need some new workers in there who needs to learn how to look at cars because clearly the ones they have don’t know what they are doing.

These guys helped me out in the worst of circumstances, enterprise rent a car tried to screw us, while letting us sit for two hours in West Virginia with a dead battery, we had to use our AAA, enterprise kept telling us to go to Firestone, finally get to Roanoke VA, cut through the red tape after many phone calls, just was a nightmare, these guys were great 👍

This is the first time going here,and I received excellent service. Went in for a state inspection the manger said it would be 8:00 before an inspector would be in, I sat and waited. Within ten minutes the inspector came and got my car,within fifteen minutes it was done. Yes I would recommend this place. My boyfriend has gone to this place and has never complained.

Took my car in about 12:30 last Sunday for a slow leak in one of my tires. I was told that I would need to leave my car there for a couple of hours before they could patch the tire so thats what I did. After several hours, I had not gotten the phone call I was promised I would get so I decided to go back over there. I arrived at almost 4:30 to find the woman at the desk did not even have the right name on my paperwork, and had not even taken the paperwork and key back to the mechanics! So, after almost 4 hours my car had not even been looked at and they were closing at 5:00. I was then told they would look at it next and to come back in 20 minutes. Ten minutes later I get a call telling me that there is a nail in the sidewall so they cannot patch my tire. But they can put a new tire on for almost $70 but not until the next day since theyre getting ready to close (even though they had my car all day but didnt bother to look at it til closing). I picked my car up and told them no thanks on bringing it back for a tire. I took my car to another tire place a few days later and lo and behold, the nail was actually in the middle of the tread (this mechanic showed it to me) and that tire shop patched it for me with no problems for only $15! Firestone wasted my entire day and then lied to me and tried to rip me off by telling me I had to buy a new tire that I really did not need. I am beyond disgusted with the way I was treated and will never again take any of my vehicles to this business.

I was stranded in Roanoke and went to firestone because my car was overheated .. they wouldnt look at radiator for me till tomorrow and wanted $50.to analyze . I just needed antifreeze in radiator which was bone dry. I drove 30 miles to an AutoZone .they filled my radiator for $13 .Needless to say I will never use Firestone. Travis was not helpful or compassionate for. 63 year old widow who needed15 minutes of help. Its really a sad thing.

Jamie is the best at Tanglewood location. Yet the other lady older one shes rude and short with clients I have observed. I had inquired on tires in the past year she didnt really have the knowledge and just wanted to sell I didnt feel comfortable with her as I needed someone to have knowledge to sell me tires since I dont have expertise lol. Set an appointment to have all four of my tires changed. They said it could take up to an hour. I thought Okay, no need for a ride Ill just hang around the mall while I wait. Well, it took OVER 2 HOURS for a tire change. I asked why and they said an appt doesnt guarantee the exact time your car will be worked on. So whats the point of making an APPOINTMENT?! Missed a doctors appt I had afterward AND found out their warranty covers absolutely nothing but premature tire wear (and only if YOU can prove it isnt their fault). Never going back.

I have become a great believer in Firestone Service Centers, most especially the Service Center at Tanglewood Mall, Roanoke Va.. We recently had a damaged windshield caused by a defective wiper, and Floor Manager Jamey Miller immediately and fairly corrected the problem to our complete satisfaction. We knew from previous experience that the staff and mechanics are courteous and efficient, and their service and product(s) are competitively priced. You just cant ask for more than that.

I had my tires changed and brakes examined with this location before I left for a summer trip. My car was parked until I got back into town. I started to notice a squeaking immediately after the tires were placed. Then a grinding noise about a week later that was getting worse. I called the location asap when the grinding was clearly worsening. They made an appointment immediately for me, even though they were booked up. Turned out the left back brake was ruined and the pads were bad. Because they had checked my brakes just 2 weeks prior and had given me the word that they were fine, they fixed the problem for free.Thank you Donald for representing a company that backs up their work. Things will happen even if you try to prepare for them, but its the people at the Tanglewood Mall Firestone location that made sure they fixed the issue even if it may not been their fault. They need better customer service. They close at 7 yet told me they werent able to plug a tire and I would need to come back. How does it take over 2 hours to plug a tire? Mind you i showed up at 5. Was told to replace a 2 month old Moog ball joint. Had it checked out at another shop, all the ball joints were, of course, perfect. Typical crooked maintenance. Wifes car went through a couple periods of not starting. Everyone I consulted with said it was likely the starter and that we should take it in. I take it to Firestone, tell them we think the issue is the starter, and order the full diagnostic eval - in which they assess that the issue is the battery connections and the oxygen sensor - whole thing runs me about $400. In the process they manage to bang up a fuel injector or something that makes the engine hesitate a bunch in first gear, but I was thrilled that the car was running again, so I didnt complain. A week later, it dies again. Took it to my usual mechanic and guess what? It was the starter.In short - Firestone did needless, shoddy, expensive maintenance work and failed to ever recognize or address the actual issue. Terrible service. Never coming back.

Ordered my tires and rims and had them shipped here for install on my truck and all went perfect without issues, went ahead and got my inspection done and oil & filter done while I had it there and they had it ready for me on time and loaded my old rims in the truck....friendly staff and will go back again.

I normally have really good experiences with this location. They have done many inspections, small adjustments (after Ive worked on my car myself), alignments, and have also put tires on my vehicle.After changing my tie rod ends in mid April, I took it in next day to have the wheels re-aligned with my lifetime alignment. I also had them tighten a bolt and grease the bearings for me. They stated they aligned it, but the printer was broken, so they didnt have the before/after sheet to show me. (They did tighten the bolt and grease the bearings free of charge which was nice)My jeep had been driving very erratically after that visit for about a week and a half. I then noticed a cupping pattern developing on my front tire treads. My tires would also screech when driving over manhole covers/road lane lines/slow turns in the parking garage/etc which seemed odd to me as well since that had never happened before.So I thought maybe I needed a tire rotation due to the tread pattern possibly causing the issue and put fresh treads up front. I took it back, discussed having a rotation and asked/confirmed that they aligned my tires that previous visit in mid April. They said they showed it was aligned, but after rotating my tires, the car continued to drive erratically.After another week and a half or so (and a 3 hour drive home to Richmond), I was told by a family member that my Jeep was screeching the tires very often while driving and that I appeared to be all over the road driving to the store. Since its free with lifetime alignment, I went to another firestone in Mechanicsville and asked to see if they could look at/align my tires. When i got back the guy laughed and said my tires were horribly aligned and that it appeared my tires were never aligned that first visit. Therefore, I had been driving around with a very substantial misalignment for about a month which didnt feel very safe.Im not sure if this has negatively affected my tire treads (theyre relatively new), but after the alignment in Richmond, the Jeep drives very well and was the cause of all the problems from the get go.Hate writing a sub-par review as theyve done good work for me in the past, and are very friendly, but possibly taking some life off my newer tires is kind of a bummer.
