The team at Sterling Optical is excellent. They take their time to explain everything and make sure you have everything you need, and they go above and beyond to be helpful. In particular, I cant praise Suzette enough. She found a way to let me have 10 extra pairs of trial contact lenses when I got myself in a pickle by not ordering my new lenses quickly enough for them to arrive before I needed to leave on a long trip out of town. I recommend this Sterling location very highly!

This place is AMAZING. Suzette and Steve have a high standard for excellent quality and pay great attention to detail which is so important but hard to find when getting a pair of glasses. They are consistently great (as you can tell from all the high reviews). Love Sterling Optical on the UWS and I highly recommend you go to them!

This is the first time in ~12 years of wearing glasses/contacts where I dont feel rushed or pressured into buying something. They take their time to make sure you are 100% satisfied before you commit to your prescription. Incredibly friendly and patient.

I buy all my glasses at this particular branch of Sterling Optical (UWS), and have been very happy with their products as well as the excellent customer service. I have terrible vision and they have managed to find/make me flattering and thin looks. They also walked me through what I needed to buy prescription safety goggles (which they dont carry, otherwise I would have bought them there!) Definitely recommend.

I highly recommend Sterling Optical! They are friendly, kind, and highly competent. I ran out of contacts unexpectedly, and when I called to make an appointment, Suzette asked if I needed to come in for a set of sample contacts for the week before my appointment - so helpful! This kind and conscientious service set the tone for my experience. At my appointment, my prescription changed more than expected. Dr. Barksdale asked me to come in again to confirm that the baseline was correct. I was wearing my contacts and she was concerned that fatigue could be throwing things off. This is a level of conscientiousness I did not experience at the big chains! Suzette was very helpful in walking me through my benefits and helping me find a frame that was attractive and in my price range. They offer very personalized and professional service. My glasses look great, my prescription feels good, and I felt well-cared for throughout!

My glasses are perfect! The staff is simply amazing, they have an amazing kindness. I broke my glasses yesterday (I bought them there, and as I said, they are awesome) and they already fixed them!

Huge shout-out to all the wonderful folks at Sterling Optical UWS for saving the day. I have been going to them for many years now, and after decamping from Manhattan to a very rural part of PA when COVID hit, my very elderly glasses frame broke beyond repair. I didnt want to have to drive in for hours each way just to try on frames. Suzette sent me photos of several options based on my prior choice she thought Id like, I picked one, and voila, my new glasses arrived in a jiffy. This is customer service impossible to beat and I am very grateful.

Highly recommended. This is what I call an artisanal opticians, run by a very personable couple, Suzette and Steve. Their attention to detail, thoroughness and commitment to get it right no matter what are a rarity in todays world, and reminiscent of a bygone age when perfectionism was the order of the day and not a mental health condition. I can vouch for the quality of their service because my very complex eye condition is such that very few opticians, anywhere in the world, could get it right, but they did and the whole experience was exceedingly pleasant and reassuring. Just walk in and within minutes, youd know you are in the right place and you will realise their service is worthy of their name: Its sterling.

I recently went in to have a pair of glasses fixed that had become bent. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Unfortunately I did not get the names of the lady and gentleman that assisted me. They were both friendly and helpful. It took less than 5 minutes to complete the repair. Very good customer service and I highly recommend.

I went to Sterling Optical needing pair of glasses as soon as possible. Suzette was so helpful. She explained what my insurance covered and walked me through all the options. Since I was wasnt going to be in NY when thew were ready she mailed them to me. They completed everything quickly and were so helpful. I would highly recommend Sterling Optical.

Wonderful optical store! Since I moved to NYC, I intend to go to this store for my glass and contact needs. Very nice atmosphere. The eye exam was high quality, and my contact lens arrived quickly. The staff is helpful and very kind; they even helped adjust the width of the frame my radiation-safety glasses that my employer had given me!

Best optometrist anywhere! Steve thinks carefully and creatively solve complex optometry needs: Specific distances, bi and tri focals for very specific needs. Before I found him, I bought various bifocals for professional music needs that just didnt work. Lots of wasted money!! Steve solved the problems! He is absolutely superlative!

I always have such a pleasant experience when I visit this location! Suzette is soft spoken, friendly, and helpful! Doctor Barksdale is professional, knowledgeable and thorough. The staff always tries to get you the best deals, and makes helpful suggestions. I come from Queens to this location so you know it’s worthwhile!

Ive been going to this optical health service for years, even through several insurance changes. Even if they dont take my current insurance I still purchase only from Suzette. We have a wonderful system going and is rather pay for this top notch service than switch because of insurance. They are affordable even without!

They have taken care me during my teen years and now into adulthood. Always nice and able to help me with my eye care needs from my contacts and glasses. Its like home for me. Cant say enough about them. Theyre great.

I called Streling Optical very last minute and spoke with Suzette who was absolutely amazing. Suzette was amazing and went out of her way to help me. Its a clean location with lots of glasses options to choose from and they even have contact solution so you dont need to make an extra stop! Id highly recommend this place for all of your optometry needs!

Absolutely great experience. I needed my glasses rushed, and the shop kindly rushed them for me at no charge--and they arrived even earlier than I could have hoped. Furthermore, they helped me choose my new frames and adjusted them to perfection. I will definitely come here in the future when I need new glasses.

My Daughter is in New York and lost her contacts. We called Sterling Optical and were helped by Suzette. I am in my 50s and would rank the level of customer service I was given in the top 5 of my life. Wow just amazed! I would without reservations give them my highest recommendation. Contacted our optometrist and got the prescription worked out and everything. And to top it off did not gouge us. I think she charged us less than our local office in Minnesota would. She then followed up the next day to make sure everything was ok!

First off, Im super picky when it comes to doctors and anything of a medical nature as Ive have been to my fair share of rude, dismissive places and doctors in all fields. Sterling is different. I have been going to Sterling since I was in grade school and Im 41 now which should tell you how much I love this place and how wonderful all the staff are.The doctor at Sterling is thorough & takes the time to answer all your questions and shows she cares.The staff who has remained the same for years as well, are always gracious & really take the time to help me find the right frames for my face, and their choices have turned out to be the ones I always get compliments on. The technician or frame doctor as I like to call him has always taken the time to fix my glasses when I have come in with a problem after accidentally sitting on them which happened more when I was younger. They are all very knowledgeable and Love their job, which shows in the warm welcoming way they treat you the minute you walk in.As long as this guys are around, I will be a forever customer.

So big THANK YOU for turning on real life HD.They worked with my insurance for lowest cost to me, which was incredibly refreshing considering my last experience, where they tried to charge me for things they arent allowed to charge me for, and demanded to know where I got a copy of my benefits **cough plides cough**Ive been to 4 different eye doctors since moving to the city and I can finally say I found one I love.

AVOID THIS SHOP! This office lies, does not care for their patients needs, and use bait and switch tactics. They lied about having an eye test that I needed for cataracts. They overcharged me. They did not listen when I told them I had chromatic aberration. Instead they told me that My eyes will have to adjust to the new glasses. DO NOT GO HERE!

This is one the nicest experiences i have had dealing with someone in ny. i have had major issues with my eyesight at work, and after i moved to uws, i went to sterling opticals. suzette and her staff are so wonderful and patiently helped me through months of uncertainty with my prescription, always so polite and considerate. eventually, sent me for tests to a university hospital where they able to diagnose my issue. didnt try to ever over sell or charge me extra, what a contrast to the commercial society we live in today. i will be telling all my friends and family about this place.
