Best eye clinic Ive been to in the city. About an hour from time of entry to out the door. The clinicians and technicians have excellent bedside manner. I would just maybe suggest more seating for patients, extra chairs, etc. When the couches fill up, there is nowhere else to go, besides the glasses fitting tables/islands. Otherwise great place and will be going back regularly.

Dr. Ali used the most sophisticated equipment to thoroughly examine my eyes. After completing the examination he spent time explaining what was wrong with my vision and what could be done to correct it. Every piece of equipment was disinfected immediately before it touched my face. The staff at Manhattan Vision Associates is very professional and courteous.

I was attended by a Technician called Sandy. She was excellent in everything that she was instructed to do to me. She made me felt like a king during the different examination that she was instructed to do to me. This was my fifth visit to Manhattan Vision but it the first time I was treated like this. Furthermore, my doctor was very kind to me and he was able to explain all the results to me. May I take this opportunity to thank both of them for the taking good care and making sure that my visit at their office was an excellent one.

I have been going to Manhanttan Vision Associates for at least 5 years, and I have had nothing but great experiences with them! Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in. Recently, James assisted me with, not one, but two pairs of reading glasses. James went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with my glasses, also following up with me to let me know when my glasses arrived - great customer service! They are also really thorough with their annual eye exams. I really like how they move you along in the process - from checking you in, to performing all the different eye exams, having you sit and meet with your doctor, and then meeting with an optician to pick out your glasses - pretty seamless and organized! I always refer my friends, family & colleagues, to Manhattan Vision, and I highly recommend them to everyone else!

Myself and my husband has been seeing Dr. Selenow for at least 30 years. Totally a great optometrist whose office is always up-to-date with all the latest technologies. Dr. Selenow is hands down a great doctor.

I feel lucky to have found Dr Selenow years ago. He is meticulous in following the borderline conditions in my eyes and so far all is well. And the burning in my dry eyes is already so much better after the implants he painlessly inserted into the drainage ducts in the corner of my eyes yesterday. He is my hero. The staff are excellent.

I have been a patient of Manhattan Vision Associates for many years. Dr. Choi is very thorough and a great communicator. I highly recommend Dr. Choi. The front desk and checkout staff are very welcoming and efficient. I have to note that in the past Ive had dreadful experiences with the Optical Department. Not any more! I had the pleasure of ordering glasses with James. He was very professional and client-focused. He took the time to explain my options so that I could make informed choices. The whole process was so quick and easy. James is a great addition to MVA!

If youre going to see Dr. Ali be prepared to wait 2+ hours. Ridiculous wait times! On top of that their staff makes it even harder on you by being condescending and inconsiderate of your time. They make you put a card down to make sure youre not late, but dont care about your appointment. Usually dont leave a review, but Laylanee and jess definitely made it terrible being here! would not reccomend

He is patient, gives an extremely thorough eye exam and listens to your concerns attentively. The Manhattan Vision Associates are extremely efficient. Every person, from the front desk to my doctor work diligently to make sure all runs smoothly and you receive all the testing you need. The communication process to make & confirm appoinments, or even ask for information, is also excellent. My optician was lovely. She was very patient, thorough, and even gave me suggestions, based on her assessment of my needs. Ive been seeing Dr. Stephen Ali for over 30 years. He is one of the nicest and best doctors Ive ever had. He is incredibly thorough. He checks everything! And if something doesnt look right, he makes sure he follows up with subsequent visits, after he prescribes medication, or recommends other treatments. He is kind and really listens to what my concerns are. This visit was no different. I left the office secure in the fact that all was done to provide me with the best options in regards to my eye health. Dr. Ali and all staff get another A+ from me for this visit.

Dr. Ali gave a great exam. He was very thorough and expressed a high level of care throughout my exam. Everyone was friendly and Liza was very helpful with picking out a nice pair of sunglasses.

Avoid this place! They perform tests that are not covered by the insurance without telling you that. Then they tell you that you need to pay $$ when you checkout. Their collection of frames is also very limited and expansive. You dont have many choices with your typical insurance. Just go somewhere else.

I had an appointment with Dr. Lori Rothman at 12:30 pm. I came 15 minutes before to do a check-in and fill out the forms. I was able to see the doctor around 1:15 pm after I started asking the reception employees about her availability. When Dr. Lori came out, I told her that it was not acceptable to wait so long. She said that I could leave if I didnt want to wait. Very bad attitude. I am not coming again to this place.

Today I had an appointment with Manhattan Vision and as soon as I enter they treated me with great courtesy and was explained in detail my visit for the day. Dr. Choi was once again breakdown my test and explained in detail the benefits and the resort. Even upon leaving after my exam again the staff helped me setup my next visit appointment and was kind and efficient to make the date workout for me.

I have had a very good experience with Dr. Steven Ali, he is kind and very thorough in his examinations. Due to Dr. Ali being so thorough sometime the wait is longer than expected.The prices for contact here have gone to a price that is beyond reason over $1000 for 1 pair of hard lenses with an eye plan is totally overpriced.

Dr. Steven Ali for the last 25 years has been my optometrist. Through the years he has provided excellent and knowledgeable care from regular checkups using the latest technology to LASIK guidance. I rely on his expertise returning to NYC solely for appointments with him. I highly recommend Dr. Ali. Additionally, the office staff is efficient, friendly and accommodating.

Ileana is, hands down, THE BEST when it comes to teaching you how to put on Scleral lenses, 100% pain free, which can be extremely painful and scary if not done right. She did a better job than even some of the doctors Id seen. Shes amazing!The doctors are passionate about their job and really goes out of their way to make sure you are getting the best prescription and fitting and will continue to make improvements on your lenses, at least for patients with keratoconus getting scleral lenses. You will be in good hands here.The crazy part is this place is way cheaper with a thousand times better service and availability than some of the other places (NYU Langone).

Reading similar reviews below, I felt compelled to share my experience at Manhattan Vision Associates. As a young person in their 20s, I felt somewhat taken advantage of at MVA. I had called ahead and explicitly asked if a regular vision exam would be fully covered by my insurance, and scheduled a vision exam ONLY (no medical visit requested at time of appointment). Instead of just doing the vision exam as requested, the doctor apparently performed a medical checkup (without my consent), so that instead of having a fully covered visit for just vision as I requested, I now owe $80 of copay. When I called the billing office, they mentioned they would contact their manager and get back to me, but nobody ever reached out.In addition, in my prior experience of having an actual medical problem months ago, I felt they gouged my visits (where I would owe $50 copay each time). I was asked to return every 2 days, which felt excessive and a method to generate more revenue.Lastly, with respect to the actual office - my doctor was always 20-30 minutes late to my appointment, which was frustrating since it made my visits much longer than they needed to be. If youre planning on visiting, make sure to bake in an extra 20-30 minutes into your plans.I personally am highly disappointed with my experience and will no longer be returning to this provider.

I have been struggling for years to find a the right eye care professionals when a friend suggested I try Manhattan Vision Associates. I cant speak highly enough of the experience I had with both Dr. Joy and Ann Kim. My eye issues and contact lenses are a bit complicated but that was no issue. Both worked diligently to ensure a proper diagnosis and proper fit for my contact lenses. I had the sense that I was being well taken care of and that my satisfaction mattered greatly. The office as a whole is well organized and super efficient. Again, excellent experience! Ive already recommended them to friends.

I made my glasses there recently. I can’t see a thing. My prescription was determined by an optician AND a doctor. Perhaps one of them needs better glasses.

Love the doctor but the office staff is so horrible that I get anxiety when I go there. I called several times to order contacts but no one can help me! Johanna was the person in charge to do that. Not even an email or order online can I get a response!!! I went there today in the rain to order my lenses and it only told 7 mins. The lady who helped me was excellent and it wasnt Johanna. She was supposed to call me and not a call! Please doctors put a fire under their butts and have them be more responsive and professional. If I was like this at my job I would be fired in a heartbeat!!!

I dont have an complaint about the service itself! The doctor was helpful and provided a satisfying service. My one-star review is due to the fact that they have zero transparency on the fees. I was told that my routine visit would cost 42 dollars but in the end they charged 92 dollars because of the additional exams.

Have been with them for the past 2 years, but today I had an appointment at 2 pm, and when I arrived told them it is at 2, waited for hour and a half and when asking why it is taking too long, they said my appointment at 3, I left without doing anything and lost time waiting for nothing.very disappointed of the service that have never been like that.

We were on vacation in NYC. Our son forgot his contacts. I called Manhattan Vision Assoc. and they were so helpful. I had my Dr. in Alabama fax in my son’s prescription. Positive is the doctor I see there is very nice and extremely professional, and to some extent, she is worth putting up with all the massive negatives that come with this establishment.The negatives echo much of the other reviews - front desk being extremely indifferent and ineffective and unprofessional. Suggestion: pay them more, train them better, or get better people who is more willing or just generally happier to be at work. It is very sad to see people so unhappy at work.Non-transparent charges: I was charged $150 for tests I didnt undergo and had to involve the office manager to resolve it (she was quite efficient ) but the experience nonetheless eroded trusts. Recently, I was handed another bill incurred 6 months ago apparently of tests that the front desk were not able to explain.Lastly, huge mark-up on contact lenses orders: depending on the brand, the mark-up can be 2x or 3x from online market places, this is in addition to paying the eye exam and fitting fee. The brazen way with which to up-charge with this much magnitude is quite appalling, and setting this establishment apart from other eye doc offices I visited before.Thought I would share my 2-year experience there in a post here.

Dr. Sylvester has been my eye doctor for over 4 years now. She is extremely thorough. Amazing bedside manners. She takes her time when giving an eye exam. Which is what I love. She is extremely patient. Very knowledgeable. I love how she was able to teach me about my eyes and the care of them. She makes you feel so comfortable. The front desk staff was very welcoming. Checking in and out was super easy. Minimal wait time. They have a great selection of designer glasses. Dr. Sylvester will be my forever Optometrist!! I highly recommend Manhattan Vision Associates.

Go to any other eye doctors office. Any. Other.I scheduled my annual appointment, and was made to wait for 50 minutes. The doctor never introduced himself to me. I should also mention, I have seen 3 different doctors in 3 years as they have such high turn over. When I finally finished with the doctor, I was unable to see the contact lens specialist as it was too late and they had gone home. They didnt seem to care that I was held late, but had no problem preventing me from getting the care that I needed.When I returned to finalize my contact lens fitting, I waited AGAIN for 40 minutes, only to see the doctor for 7 minutes. Yup, SEVEN.I should also mention, that they have a practice that I have never seen before in which they will charge you a different amount depending on whether they give you the same brand of lenses are you were previously wearing or a new brand. And its no small difference in cost -- $150!And finally, it took me following up TWICE to be able to get my contact lens and glasses prescription. It was not available for me when I left, it was not sent to me on their own, and they did not send both the contact lenses and glasses at once.If youre looking for an eye doctor, look ANYWHERE else. I know that I will be. Shame on your MVA. Shame on you.

Super happy about the medical/routine eye exam I had at this office. I saw Dr. Sylvester and she was knowledgeable and explained everything she was doing and the reasons for certain tests. Ive been to many optometrists in the past for my eye care and this office has state of the art diagnostic machines. It was easy to make an appointment and I felt the staff from beginning to end were more than friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this practice and will be returning for future appointments.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Ali. He had a very gentle touch and I experienced no discomfort throughout my eye exam. He explained very well my medical condition to me and what my options are for my present condition. He prescribed some medication that seems to work very well. His expertise and professionalism are truly outstanding. I would greatly recommend Dr. Ali to all my friends and colleagues. Good doctor, worst experience with the staff - rude and highly unprofessional. My appointment was at 1:30pm and I reached at 1:00pm sharp since this was my first time. Filled the forms and waited for half an hour for the basic check up before I could see the doctor at around 2pm. The session lasted for about 25 min. The experience thereafter was the worst ever as the staff responsible for prescription was rude and unwilling to answer questions (even after knowing this was my first time and I may have more queries than others) to the point saying that she has other customers. I didnt have an opportunity to get a response. The front desk manager later joined in, was really nice and communicated in a much more appealing manner.Never going to this place again. I booked the place through zocdoc and will be leaving a review there too but I wish I had seen yelp reviews earlier.

I made an appointment last week for my mom. The receptionist asked me for Insurance No and i provided it. There were no calls ever since, even the day before appointment. I took a day off at work in order to come for this - guess what? Lady at the reception stated that she did an appointment but i did not give her insurance and that she called and left a message for us - insurance was not accepted. There were no calls and everything was an absolute lie. We were upset that no one warned us, at least we knew a day before that in order not to waste time. Very unprofessional.

I was there for my appointment that took over 2 hours. The front desk staff is absolutely horrible. They had me waiting for an hour before I got checked in. And then the contact lens optician was extremely rude. She did not want to help me and was very dismissive. I wanted to speak to a manager and someone said she wasn’t at the office. I requested her name. Her name is leilani. If you’re reading this, have your front desk staff learn how to speak to patients. Your staff is extremely rude.

I was not able to see anything close at all or on the prescription or even my phone screen. She was so impatient when I was asking a few questions.Please have some manners and learn to be patient. This eye doctors office was the best I have ever been. The facility itself was immaculate and had a great variety of eye glasses to choose from. The Technician that took care of me was named Jason. He was incredibly polite and professional. He explained everything as he went along and was clearly very competent. He truly made me feel like a guest and not just a patient being pushed along the process. The Doctor that performed my eye examination was Dr. Morra. She was just lovely. Also, incredibly polite and professional. She was so thorough (more thorough than I have ever experienced from an eye doctor) and was very knowledgeable. She also made me feel quite at home, safe, and that I as being treated with care and competence. I also interacted with Ann (contact lens specialist) and another woman (unfortunately i did not get her - eye glasses specialist). Both of these women were also very friendly and knowledgeable about their specialty; both were very clear and concise in explaining my insurance benefits for eye glasses and contacts. Overall, the experience was the best it could have been. I highly recommend this office and the professionals within.

Doctor is good, but the worst front desk and waiting time. I called in for reschedule my appointment, front desk made me wait in like forever and switch to 3 different people, as soon as they hear I want to reschedule my appointment, they just said:hold on a second and then couple minutes later, another person pick it up and do it again. after 30 minutes, they hang up on me.

I recently visited Manhattan Vision Associates and the experience was exceptional. I am new to NYC and required an urgent update to my contact lens / glasses prescription. The office was able to schedule an appointment for me promptly on the following day.Upon arrival at the office, I checked in with Amber at the front-desk; she was very welcoming. I have had very poor experiences in the past with check-in paperwork, fumbling for insurance #s and arrogant (for no good reason) administrators. This was not the case at Manhattan Vision Associates. In fact, quite the opposite.My appointment was scheduled for 5pm with Dr. Ali. and surprisingly the office took me ahead of schedule.Before seeing Dr. Ali I met with a young man named Devon who performed a number of tests related to my vision. Devon was a solid young man (very professional). However, the real star here was the technology. The level of analysis/precision which took place during this part of my exam was top-notch. Furthermore, when I asked Devon to explain the purpose of each test / machine, he was able to do so with precision and efficiency. I was particularly pleased with this part of the clinical experience as many doctors will brush questions off and assume the patient lacks the analytical capacity to comprehend the biological and/or physiological components of the answer.For contact lens, I met with Dr. Ali and Ann (contact lens optician). They were quick to collaboratively diagnose my current contact lens issue as one related to dryness generated by the current contact lens material. We then sampled multiple contact lens options until I found a comfortable fit. The fit I landed on was a more advanced lens which allowed greater breath-ability and actively suppressed dryness. I left the office with a 2-weeks supply of contacts in-hand, and ordered a larger supply which were conveniently shipped to my home address.Dr. Ali then handed me off to the glasses optician (Merlin) who assisted me to find a perfect pair of glasses. I have received multiple compliments on my new glasses since then, so thank you Merlin- I owe these compliments to youGiven this experience, I will certainly be using Manhattan Vision Associates for all of my eye-health related needs on a go-forward basis.Five Stars.

Ive been going to this facility for many years. Easy to schedule an appointment. Pleasant and efficient staff. Always seen in a timely fashion. Comprehensive exam and respectful of all questions. Office completely empty but still was left to wait for 30 minutes. When asked how much longer I would have to wait, staff notified me that annual exams typically take 90 minutes (after a 30 minute wait). So I guess only go here if you have a few hours to waste?

Had a super extensive eye exam. It was easy to schedule, all of the insurance stuff was explained to me prior to my visit. I was toying with the idea of contacts- tired of wearing glasses to social engagements- and the optical staff and Dr. Sylvester made it super easy and un-scary. I really felt comfortable and taken care of at my appointments. Will be returning.

Honestly, one of the best medical centers Ive ever been. All personnel was very kind and polite. I didnt have to wait much to be attended by Doctor James Lee, whom in my opinion is one of the best. Dr. Kim was very efficient, informative and professtional. And very importantly, she was very pleasant.The whole expereince was very good. The one issue I had was related my experience at the check out desk. I approached the desk adjacent to the front desk and asked what I needed to do next-I thought there might be an additional fee. The woman told me to wait until they got the papers, which I assumed she meant were from the doctor. I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes or so. Then I approached the front desk to see about the delay. It seems they had the papers already and told my there was nothing else I needed to do. This not a major concern, but it was a little annoying to have to wait for them just to tell me there was nothing else I needed to do.

They are not helpful at all, won’t accommodate any request of yours.I wanted to change my frames and they came up with insurance excuse in the beginning of conversation where in the end it appeared that they have their own company policies: you can only change if you upgrade the lenses.Would not recommend

Its a must go to eye exam place. Friendly, thorough, attentive, modern equipment. You will spend at least an hour - so dont rush. Its all about your eyes.

Manhattan Vision was great. Technicianand Dr care is top notch. Merlin was patientand helpful with my difficulty choosing frames.I highly recommend this practice for your family vision care.

I found Dr. Blechman on Zocdoc since I needed an appointment within the next few days for my eye infection and was very happy with the visit and their service. Will definitely consider coming back if I decide to switch from glasses to contacts in the future.

I had a great experience with Manhattan Vision Associates. I saw Dr. Christine Morra who was the best optometrist Ive seen! I usually am nervous about these appointments and she made me feel very comfortable. She really listened to my concerns and did a thorough exam! The office itself is also clean and everyone was professional.

I can’t say enough great things about the wonderful care given at Manhattan Vision Associates. The modern, professional office is equipped with the latest state of the art equipment. Dr. Selenow and his colleagues are knowledgeable and caring providers.

Be careful. This place can be hit or miss in several key factors.1. You may be seen quickly, you may wait 30-45min.2. They will try to perform tests that are not part of your standard eye exam and charge you for them. When you arrive and when you see the first technician, specify you are there for the STANDARD checkup only.3. Be prepared for either exceptionally nice front desk staff or exceptionally rude front desk staff.

MVA is a state of the art facility. I have been using their services for over 20 years. Their staff is efficient and highly professional.

For 35 years I have being seeing an optometrist, yet I have never had such a thorough and complete eye examination like the one at Manhattan Vision! The office is beautiful and equipped with what appears to be the very latest in technology, for me that’s important, and Dr Selanow performed the best eye exam I’ve ever had! It is also important for me to know the doctor is listening to my concerns and Dr Selanow certainly did. When the exam was completed , he explained his finding in terms I could easily understand. I walked out of there feeling so great about the service I received. I highly recommend Manhattan Vision! Will review my new glasses when I get them.

Everyone at MVA is both professional and personal, starting with the front desk and ending with the eyeglass staff. I had to change my appointment to an earlier time at the last minute and they were very accommodating. I hardly waited at all to be seen, first by the technician and then by Dr. Thobani. Dr. Thobani was thorough and asked a lot of questions. And finally I got lots of help selecting my progressive lenses. I can’t say enough good things about the whole experience.

Dr. Selenow gives a completely thorough eye exam always. He and his colleagues are very up-to-date on the latest in eye diagnostics and treatment. In addition to eye exams, they also do research on eye conditions and treatments. I feel I get 360 eye-care at Manhattan Vision Associates. The opticians here are also terrific. Very helpful. Ive been going to MVA for 20+ years and will continue.

My first visit with MVAs Dr. Michael Choi was extremely efficient and thorough. He was very attentive, made sure to address all my concerns (he even pointed out some of my symptoms based on advanced test results before I even had a chance to tell him about my symptoms o___o). Im very satisfied and impressed with my experience at MVA, their advanced technology, organized staff, and specialized care!

Terrible. Very disorganized. I made an appointment, after they had me fill out all of their forms, they said they couldn’t find me in the system and didn’t have any record of my appointment. Could have told me sooner. Or better yet could have made the appointment and recorded it down. I heard another person in the waiting room complaining about their losing his order too. Stay away.

Terrible response times. I finally received notice that my glasses are ready after 5-weeks!! I called after 4-weeks to ask about them and to also order contact lenses. Receptionist said they will contact me. I got a text 1 week later about the glasses but had to call them again about ordering contacts. Again, they said someone will be in touch. Frustrating!!!
