I see lots of good reviews for this practice. To each their own. I had my first eye surgery when I was 7. Seven more eye surgeries throughout my life. I have seen a lot of Ophthalmologists. Steven Vold is the worst. He has several talented people working for him. Dr. McFarland and Dr. Holden. Without them, his business would grind to halt. If you are booked to see Vold, expect a 2-3 hour wait on each occasion. Sitting in the surgery center nervous and waiting for your turn? Expect at least a 2-3 hour wait. Vold is always overbooked. 2 hour wait for less than 5 minutes of his time. Dr. Vold did 2 cataract surgeries on me. Complications with both. After his sincere apology, we returned for him to operate on my wife. Big mistake! They simply do not care about your time! I am not the lone wolf complaining. As you sit in their lobby for hours, you will hear other patients who are tired of the way they are treated. My family will go somewhere else so we can get on with life.

Dr Vold may be a good doctor, I don’t know, but his office practices are terrible. This is the 3rd time my husband has had a procedure, and each time, they start at least 2 hours later than expected. They are never on time, and staff is very condescending when I question the time. Today the staff had a conversation in another language about me and my concerns, right in front of me, before providing me with an update in English. In addition, their billing practices are unethical at best. Estimates are never correct. Post-op visits are not billed as such, they are billed as regular appointments so they can charge the insurance companies more money. Dishonest, untimely, and poor communication:

Had the SMILE procedure done on Thursday which only took about 30 minutes. So glad I did it. I’m seeing better than 30 years of glasses and contacts, 20/20 and 20/15 four days later. Call John for a consultation. You won’t regret it.

I gave them 5 stars because I love all the people there; they are never rude even when its super busy. They always treat each patient with their individual attention. And its very clean!My surgery was SMILE surgery on Aug. 27. It took less than 5 minutes and Ive had great results with my exam appts. I was able to go back to work Sunday morning, nothing too strainuous on the Saturday/recovery day. Its also busy on your post op day too b/c others have theirs as well but other appointments werent crowded.I expect the longer wait, it can be a long time even if the visit can be 5 minutes. You usually see the same people and if they are busy, they are busy. You cant rush their work on other humans eyes. They will give you the same attention and care when its your turn. I always make my appointments when I have the whole day off, that way I know what I can expect.I hope others give Vold Vision a try, at least a consultation and see if its right for you!

My 4 Yo had an eye injury resulting in some eye trauma. I had never been to VV before but my mom recommended them to me so I immediately called and took my child in. We seen Dr.Holden and she seen us quickly, prescribed ointment. Her eye got worse so I took her back in the next day. Once again Dr.Holden seen us very quickly and was so extremely good with my child. Made my child and I feel comfortable and got her started on some antibiotics. She even gave us an after hours number to call if we needed her. She went above and beyond and I couldn’t be more thankful! I will be back every time! Everyone was so nice and welcoming!

While it’s never fun to have a procedure done Vold did a great job for my wife...She just had a PRK procedure done today Jon and Christine were awesome and helped put her mind at easy. She initially thought she would have the “SMILE” procedure, however because of some eye issues she was not a candidate for that and had to choose PRK and was understandably very nervous about this and the recovery time.Staff was awesome, building was clean, observing social distancing and mask because of COVID.Now we move to the recovery phase but so far the first two phases have been great and highly recommended!

Vold Vision was recommended to me by my optometrist, as I was wanting Lasik, and they haven’t disappointed! Everyone’s really nice here and very understanding and genuinely want the best for you. Awesome experience at vold vision of Fayetteville. I drove 2 1/2 hours to go here for lasik smile, I would recommend everyone to do so also. I have read the bad reviews about wait times, but let’s be real if you want quality/great service at times you will have to sacrifice time because they are busy! I would rather wait a long time to see one of their doctors than go anywhere else. Great job, great customer service! Awesome experience! Can’t thank them enough!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Vold Vision. If you are considering getting vision correction and want out of your glasses or contacts like I did, then do it. The entire staff, from the front office to the doctors to Dr. Vold himself, could not have been more helpful and pleasant during my visits for my SMILE procedure. We had all our questions and concerns answered. The was barely a wait time as we showed up 15 min before our appointment time. Scheduling the procedure was a breeze and they provided us all the information we needed to get started.I followed the care and prep instructions to the T, leading up to the pre op appointment and procedure, which to me, was very key in this whole process. Although cumbersome, it was worth doing all I can to ensure a smooth procedure.The operation was quick and easy. Recovery was even easier, less than 24 hours but I still followed protocol. Dr. Vold was friendly and ran a professional operation.Overall, little to no side affects, no burning or itchiness, no anything really - wasn’t sure what to expect and was presently surprised. Had halos around lights at night for a few weeks, but now that’s minimal a month later.I might’ve been an ideal candidate but this was overall amazing process. Went for Lasik. I was at -2.55 for both eyes. Started seeing good again after. Been 20/15 after procedure. Best thing to have gone for and they treat you well during the whole process instead of others who shove you onto a room and let you wait till the operation. They will come and periodically see if you need something while waiting.

I had really impaired vision and was not a candidate for Lasik. I was concerned that my vision could not be corrected. Dr. Vold and his staff determined I was a good candidate for the Clear Lens Replacement. Dr. Vold and his staff were extremely thorough and attentive with the pre-op exams, surgeries and follow up appointments. The surgeries were very successful and I am amazed at my vision. I am an artistic person so I am really impressed with how intense and beautiful colors are to me now!

I decided to have the smile op done. It was all great. I had good experiences with all the staff, they were awsome. The day of surgery went good. They walked me through it and I never felt nervous. The operation was painless and easy. You basically just lay there and dont move. They even have a tool to help hold your eye open. It was great.

I had the PRK procedure done a few days ago. In my consultation and pre op appointments, Dr. McFarland and his team were all very helpful and told me everything to expect. On the day of the procedure, John was wonderful in making me feel comfortable and telling me exactly what was happening. I was, understandably, quite anxious going into surgery. One of the nurses held my hand the whole time, and Dr. Vold kept telling me he was proud of me in between telling me exactly what he was doing to my eyes.The whole experience, while it was a bit overwhelming, was wonderful. I had PRK Lasek done 3 weeks ago at Vold! Everyone has been super nice and friendly from the beginning. Dr. Mcfarland answered all my questions at my consultation and did an excellent job at explaining the process. It helped that he had PRK done as well. Christine was super helpful with the financial piece and was such a sweet resource for me.During my operation, I was super nervous and freaked out. I tend to make things seem much worse than they really are. Karen helped calm me down, made me laugh and was my cheerleader the entire procedure. Dr. Vold was so kind and talked me all the way through it. The procedure was super quick and painless.My recovery wasn’t quick but was gradual. I didn’t have any pain; however, there was some discomfort and light sensitivity in the first 3-5 days. I had headaches the first week after but after that it was much better. Use your prescribed eye drops, get plenty of rest... I took lots of naps the first couple of weeks... and put those preservative free eye drops in the fridge. You’ll thank me later!At my second post op appointment, I was having some haziness on my right eye. Dr. McFarland gave me some Lotemax ointment to put in my eyes at night before bed. That helped tremendously. By my 3rd post op appointment, my right eye had cleared up and had improved to 20/25 vision. My left eye had been 20/20 since the second appointment.PRK has a longer recovery but I feel like it has been worth it! Highly recommend Vold Vision for your eye needs.

But John quickly fixed it. I have been iffy about Lasik for years. But glad I finally did it.

Went in for a Cataract Screen and the lady that took my call was amazing. Answered all of my questions, helped me with my insurance, and got me in quickly. Don’t remember her name.. keep up the good work. Dr. Vold was amazing, answered my questions and was very nice. When it was time to check out, Barbara was not only rude to me, but the patient that was in front of me as well. I won’t recommend anyone go here until she is gone!!

I love the doctor I see and they do a great job of running on time. The people at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. However, dont order your glasses here. I have had the anti-glare coating come off two pairs of glasses in about three months for each pair. I have been wearing glasses for thirty years and never had problems like this twice in a row. Whoever does their lens work sucks. They will only replace one pair per order for this problem so now I have a few months before insurance will pay for a new pair but the lenses are a mess.

I got SMILE surgery almost a year ago and it has been life changing! I’m a professional track athlete and my contacts always seemed to be a bother whether it was during practice or traveling. But now I don’t have to worry about contacts, contact solution or having to pack extra contacts. The surgery took less than 15 minutes and was pain free with very little to NO down time after surgery. If you are someone that has worn glasses and contacts all your life you should definitely consider getting a free consult to see if you’re a candidate for Lasik eye surgery.

A week ago today I had “ Lens Retraction surgery” i couldn’t be more pleased. I knew several people who have had lasik but no one for lens retraction, I was very nervous UNTIL, I met with “ Nicole”. Nicole was amazing, she calmed my nerves, was very thorough and made me completely comfortable with proceeding forward. I will say the cost of the surgery was a little overwhelming, as I am not a wealthy person, but VOLV offered a credit program with ZERO percent interest, it made it affordable for me. I have worn glasses since I was 15 and I’m almost 60. I don’t do many things for ( myself) and I made the decision, IM WORTH IT. THANK YOU VOLV VISION CENTER for giving me a quality of vision I haven’t had in over 45 years. If your even remotely thinking about Lens Retraction I HIGHLY recommend VOLV, and just like me, YOUR WORTH IT .!!!!

Today was my mothers appointment at 10a and couldnt eat after Midnight. We didnt leave until after Noon time.Yes, thats because Mama stormed out because she didnt want crackers and have to wait longer to see the doctor.At first, I thought Mama made the appointment and her additude was expected but still unexceptable. Then as it happens, the appointment was assigned for her and even though its known that my mother is diabetic and had to fast for a longer time than usual, the staff took what ever Mama said personally and refused to allow her to reschedule. Apparently, the doctor got backed up with many other. That is more unexceptable, including making a diabetic wait longer to eat. I would suggest to make sure appointments fit with the patient schedule and okay it with the patient. Also to remember how diabetics behave when their blood pressure is low and make sure that it doesnt happen. Frankly, I am disgusted with todays process.

I had glaucoma surgery by Dr Vold through a research study and Dr McFarland, Ken and William are all wonderful. The entire experience was excellent. From the front desk to the clinical staff and surgical team. Everyone was so great and friendly. I cannot say enough about the techs. They all work so hard and do such a great job! Karen, Presley, Nikki and Sidney are the best! Deanne and Grant are wonderful surgical coordinators. They did a fast and effective job at getting my surgeries scheduled without incident! Rick in optical was very helpful when I needed sunglasses after my second surgery and made sure I got exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend Vold Vision to anyone!

I recently had the LASIK procedure done by Dr. Vold. From the consultation process to the procedure itself, every member of the Bold Vision staff was kind, informative, and helpful. If any friend or family member of mine is in need of LASIK or any other eye procedure I would recommend Vold Vision.

Everyone was very professional. Smile was a super quick procedure. Recovery was quick as well.

VOLD Vision is the absolute BEST! They’re the most attentive eye care facility I have been to. I also highly recommend the LASEK procedure.

They literally book so many patients sorry, TOO MANY in a day. So they make you wait 4+ HRS. Anything other than the basics. The patients sitting in the lobby said the wait time is ridiculous as usual waiting up to 5 hours. We been here since 12:30 and its 4pm now.

Absolutely love this clinic! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and the technology is top notch. Nicole gave me an eye exam and was so sweet and patient with me, as I have a little phobia of things near my eyes. She truly put me at ease and was great about talking thru the tests before actually preforming them. For anyone who is looking for a clinic where they genuinely care about your health and make you feel like family, Vold Vision is the place to go! Im so grateful for Dr. Vold and his team! I had the SMILE procedure done and now have 20/10 vision! No more hassling with putting contacts into tired eyes in the morning or all of the other inconveniences. Their technology is top notch! Hi all! I am a former employee and I had the SMILE procedure performed last week. Let me tell you people that I couldnt see the hand in front of my face without my glasses before and after the procedure my vision is better than 20/20. I just want to take the to thank the entire team for the care and assistance that was shown through out the entire process. If you want to get out of your contacts or glasses with LASIK/LASEK/SMILE then Vold Vision is definitely the way to go!!! 10 Stars!!!!

Only thing I regret is not getting it done sooner!! This is a great place and everyone is so friendly! I had lasek done six months ago and have loved the results. It’s truly life changing and they have great financing options. Make the call they are so easy to work with.

Office efficiency gets a 1 star. Techs and staff seem to scurry around looking busy and performing tests; but it is chaotic, lacking organization and cohesion.Wait time gets 3 stars, but just barely. I went in at 9:00 a.m. waited for most of the time and left after noon.Doctor competency and efficiency. Both doctors I saw were fresh out of school, which should be a plus because they are up-to-date on current methods and techniques. That was so. The problem is that both doctors I saw were still just a bit new in the way they treat a patient. Neither of them listened very well and chose technology over what a patient described. In my case, I went in for three specific things. The eye problems related to a specific disease were treated and made a priority over everything else. This was fine in that they had to be addressed before I could have my cataracts removed. The cataracts were never even discussed; and they should have been before I had the exam to receive new glasses. First mistake!Second huge mistake was during the exam for new glasses. The doctor did not listen to the conversation as it was taking place and dismissed concerns about an on-going problem, even though it was mentioned in great detail. Two more trips to the testing lab finally gave him the results he couldnt get on the machine in the exam room. I was seeing the letters better but the double vision was still there; and I mentioned it. It was dismissed; or he didnt hear me; or whatever. He proceeded to tell me I needed eye drops and a host of other things and dismissed me to see his next patient. I picked up the prescription and took it to the place where I normally buy frames not realizing the area I needed the most help with was blank! He totally forgot to put it in the prescription.The third mistake was when the technician at the eyeglass place called his office and was told the problem was NEVER discussed. What a crock! It was almost all we talked about. I called the clinic again and got the receptionist who said she would check into it. I have never been called back.Vold Vision, I will not recommend your company to anyone else, ever. If you cant make something right, then you have more problems than my poor review addresses.

This is the best eye doctor appointment I’ve ever had. Starting with the ladies at the front desk, they were very welcoming and cheerful. I was taken back by an assistant named Presley. She was absolutely wonderful! She was sweet, kind and very thorough. She listened and related well even as my somewhat lengthy medical history was confusing. Dr. Hurd was nice and was able to get my prescription better than previous doctors. Barb was my check out person and, again, I was pleasantly surprised. She was great and answered all my questions. She personally walked me over to their glasses department so I could see what glasses were in my budget. But there was no pressure to buy. GREAT!

Friendly, made my 11 year old daughter feel extremely comfortable, and lowered her anxiety. Dr. Napier was thorough and great! We only waited 5 minutes in the lobby (I had not even finished filling out the paperwork ). Great, courteous staff. Will definitely recommend!

The people here are very friendly and professional. I highly recommend getting LASIK done here! Cola was very helpful with the beginning examination. John was very friendly and efficient with all of my questions. Barb was very kind and helpful with all of my appointments for post surgery scheduling. Very impressive team!

I am a past employee of Vold Vision and I worked as the Laser Vision Correction Care Coordinator helping and educating patients navigate the process of corrective vision procedures. I left Vold Vision to pursue medical school— my dream!I love learning the world of medicine, but I often miss working at Vold Vision. I have a degree in communication that emphasized interpersonal relationships and communicating in medical settings, so this job was a dream for me before becoming a doctor myself. Every day, I got to educate patients about the different procedure options, and I felt a lot of responsibility for making sure these patients felt safe and well cared for— thankfully, I got to see Dr. Vold perform procedures firsthand AND he corrected my own eyes, so I felt confident when I spoke with patients about this.I made a lot of lasting connections working there that I am very thankful for today. I was so welcomed when I first began this job, and I found so much support, encouragement, and praise as I navigated my role. The people behind the scenes at Vold Vision are hard working, compassionate people. They truly want their patients to have the best and safest experience— and trust me, a lot of hard work goes into that! The receptionists, surgery coordinators, surgical staff, technicians, research department, and so many others (sorry if I missed you, but you are important!!!!) were always working hard to improve the patient experience and the general care offered. Every Thursday morning, we would meet to discuss how we could do and be better. Dr. Vold and the team of physicians at Vold Vision are some of the most intelligent and generous doctors I have had the pleasure of knowing. The receptionist Cheyanne was super sweet. She carried her around the office to keep her entertained. Held her during my appointment and played in the hallway with her. Dr. Hendricks was also amazing with her as well. My daughter (7 months old) did not cry or panic or anything with her during her own eye exam. It was a great experience.

Our entire family has seen Dr. Hurd and was very impressed with him. In addition we all got glasses from Tresa and we couldnt be more pleased. They are both very professional, kind, and just a pleasure to see. Recommend them to all!

It took a few trips to figure out what is going on with my eye after Lasiks, but Dr. McFarland never gave up.I have been in that office probably 20 times since May 2018. The staff is Out Of This World!! I do not know what Dr. Vold does, but I would love to find out how he keeps so many happy and efficient. Special shout-out to Nicole, she makes me laugh and feel special every time!!

Had LASIKS performed by Dr.Vold and was very impressed. It was very thorough, fast, and painless. Highly recommend.EDIT: on my 6 mo & year checkup I waited almost TWO hours just in lobby because each time the front receptionist didn’t check me in properly, no apology or anything. Such a wasted day...

I visited this clinic for the first time and it was very disappointing.At first, everything went smoothly from checking in at the reception desk to the nurse running tests, then everything went south from there.My doctor was Dr. Moser and she was friendly but a bit unprofessional. As she was examining my eyes she had me retest with a nurse for some reason.After the retest, I was sent back to the exam room and Dr. Moser was gone. She left me and my mother in the exam room for 30 minutes without saying a word and started examining three other patients . We asked a nurse with glasses where Dr. Moser was and she said she was with another patient. I told the nurse that we may had to get her supervisor involved and a few minutes later Dr. Moser returned to the exam room. I felt like she rushed the whole examination, never apologized for leaving and did not explain why she left. Although, she was friendly and knowledgeable does not excuse the fact of why she had to leave us for other patients without an explanation.My mother and I brought this to the attention of the front desk and they said they would mention it to her. Hopefully we get an answer of why this happened.Overall, I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. I wish I had read some of the reviews before coming here. Looks like I will be looking for a new eye doctor again. :(

Worst service ever, waited over 4 hours. When Dr Vold finally seen me he did not even address the issue with my eye, took a quick look at my eyes and told me everything looked fine and sent me on my way. He would not listen to me when I tried to inquire about my eye issue. We will never go back or refer anyone.

The best team I have ever meet! I had LASIK a little over a month ago I was lucky super lucky to win on one of the events and it changed my life completely for the better. My prescription before was -2.75 on the right eye and -3.25 on the left eye. Right after the surgery I changed to 20/20. Now I feel safer driving at night, I don’t have to worry about finding my glasses right after I wake up, I’m able to do so many things that I wasn’t able to do comfortably before.I can’t thank enough Vold Vision Dr. Vold, Dr McFarland and the whole team are supper professional and friendly, everyone make you feel welcome all the time!Thank you so much, your generosity carries over for the rest of your patients life!

Dr. Napier is a wonderful pediatric optometrist! We were thoroughly impressed with our overall experience. The front office and all the nurses were amazing too!!

Not a on time place.. Had an appointment at 11am not being able to see someone until 1:30pm. Need to get they appointments in order.

Let me show you all my new glasses it cost me an eye of my head. I meant 2 eyes!!! $3500. It cost me to have Lasik. They said “ doesn’t hurt and most of our patients have 20/20. I had been visiting them for a full year. Not Solution for my doble visión. They said is dry eyes here take this free thing. The next one you need to buy. I know how dry eyes feels like. I use all the product they gave me and follow all their requests in how to take care my eyes. They fix my eyes to see better, but the angle is wrong. That is the reason I see doble and not for dry. If I close one eye, I see everything in one picture and pretty good. The same with the other. The problem is when both is open. Example, If I have a dot. This. . I see little bit moved apart that increase with the l LongsightI think that my eyes are getting bad already. I can see a hair inside of one ofMy cornea. Night time driving is difficult. My wife needs glasses and she seems thing before me while I’m driving. When I look at the moon, with each eye I see it different and when both is open OMG. It looks like when I have my glasses dirty.
