Since purchasing 4 surveillance cameras and a two-year contract in September, I have had constant difficulty with the surveillance, both live camera and recordings of clips. The ADT cameras stop recording and also stop working live as well. I have complained about this to ADT customer service they do the same thing over and over expecting a different result which is to reboot the system, send out technicians to troubleshoot and fix the problem. And it continues to happen over and over. There have been two events that I wished to have captured on camera recordings, but the ADT cameras and recording system failed. ADT has a very ineffective camera surveillance and recording system. Per the technicians, my internet is fast enough, and clear up my memory space each time. they cant find anything wrong. I have also asked to get out of the contract because of the ADTs systems inefficiency. I have been refused to get out of my contract. I asked this prior to my 6 month money back guarantee.. A technician came out just 4 days ago AGAIN and deleted ALL my recordings for the sake of running out of recording space and 2 days later So, I still can not see out of 3 /4 cameras for live view and only ONE has an occasional recording. So as of now I am paying for services that arent being rendered by ADT. I feel Im being robbed and stolen from by force. ADT is unwilling to satisfy and resolve my complaint. They ask me to reach out and call in, I have , about 10 or more times...in the end, dont help and force me to keep in a contract... Ill apology but otherwise nothing is ever done differently. Isnt that the definition of insanity? To do the same thing over and over, expecting a different result? I have reached out to corporate and corporate has not returned my calls. I have escalated it several times, upper corporate department has never reached out to me to fix my problem or give me a refund. I have paid well over $1,000 for an ineffective system and pay monthly almost $60 a service that I am not receiving. ADT has not resolved this. And for this I give ADT a ZERO.

I will start off by saying Alfonso the technician was great. He communicated efficiently and let me know when he would be arriving. He also explained what he was doing throughout the entire process.Where the 1 star comes in is ADT in general. They have horrible customer service and just try and take money from you anyway they can. I was not aware there was a service fee and no one told me when booking the appointment. In the last year I have had 4-5 technician’s at my home for issues and never have been charged a service fee. I am just waiting for my contract to be up so I can leave ADT especially after all the trouble they have caused. Equipment fixes and service calls should be free if I am not able to fix and troubleshoot myself. Overall bad business practices and not sure how they have been in business this long with their practices.

The gentleman who came to our home to set up a more advanced alarm system for us was truly kind, considerate and most of all, TRUTHFUL! He didnt try to sell us a bunch of stuff we were not able to use. He was very professional - and patient! Made sure we knew how to use the new equipment before he left the house and told us to call if we had any problems! Most impressed with him and ADT!!!!!!!

My ADT keypad had a continuous error which required service. A technician named David came to my home for the repair. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional and courteous. He took the extra time and explained the cause and correction of the repair restoring my confidence in my ADT security system. David also suggested some other options that may be of help to me in the future as well as placing my cameras in an area that would get more range. The ADT system we had nstalled about 8 months ago was $2500. It was not installed on time, it took 3 times as long to install, system has failed to perform 3 times. Our monthly monitoring fee doubled from what paid previously, though we have had 4 different systems in homes we have owned. ADT has gone down hill. Hope to get a call from a senior ADT leader. ADT is better than this; I believe it now I need to see it!

Rabah explained everything in layman terms and we are completely satisfied with him. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question. Plus told us things we didn’t now to ask. And our doorbell works better than when it was first installed.It would be great if in the future if we ever have a problem I can ask for him. It does have to have the same technician come out for each service. It build a relationship of trust.

So many solicitors. This company is tarnishing their own company. I will NEVER do business with ADT after being haggled with a salesman at 7pm at night after telling him that I was not interested. After him we received hand written notes on our door and 4 other salesmen. Our neighbor has ADT and says that it causes her more problems than it solves. Safety and peace of mind is important, you are better off going with one of those security doorbells.Also, since the power had gone out the system the old homer had left here was going off randomly scaring the daylights out of us. We had to call the old homeowner to get her old password after that didnt work my husband smashed it off the wall with a hammer and now we have a hole in our wall. Horrible experience.

The installation was terrible and unhelpful. I had high hopes since my parents had a good experience when I was a child but now that Im an adult and got the service for myself, I can see that a lot has changed. Very disappointed and I dont feel much safer than I did before. We also didnt have a great experience with the customer service support line. Considering a switch because of how awful this experience has been.

I originally was with Brinks Alarm systems then they got bought out by Broadview and now ADT bought them out so I guess I can say I have been with ADT for many years. My experiences have been great. ADT customer service has always been professional. On Oct 8 I had to have a sliding door sensor replaced due to a new door install. Service tech Alfonso was knowledgeable and attended to all my concerns with the install. Work was completed timely and to my satisfaction. Good job on excellent customer service.I have several window/glass sensors and one was flashing continuously. Jose was able to address the problem and replace it to resolve the issue. He was professional and attentive to my concerns. I continue to experience good customer service and would recommend ADT to family and friends.

I would give them negative stars if I could. Awful setting up credit cards for multiple accounts; awful billings system; awful cancellation; etc. It took me more than a year to set up everything and now its probably going to take that long to get it cancelled. Its been 6 months and its still not cancelled. I will never use this company again and I will spread the word about my experiences and tell them to read the reviews. The saga continues.....

ADT Solicitors Cannot Read. I was told today that ADT has the right to approach my house to sell products even though I clearly posted a No Solicitation sign. Obviously ADT solicitors cannot read or they just ignore the property owners wishes. Since they cannot even follow directions to start business fairly, I would not recommend to start any services from ADT. It seems that property security is the last thing on their minds.

We were not happy with the sales and installation and we were conned into buying a 3-year plan and I would get a warranty. Additionally, we never used this alarm because we didnt understand it and didnt want the emergency vehicles to respond. The salesman who installed this system didnt take the time to explain this system in detail. Recently, I had an error message and chirping sounds coming from both of the control panels at 10 pm. It took two calls to get this silenced and an service call set up. I was mad that I almost had to pay for a service call on a system that Im renting monthly and was a defect within the box. I was told that fee would be waved.

I was told by a friend that has been a customer less than years than we have that her intallation fee was waived. I asked the customer rep and the technician did we get a loyal customer and a military discount with our installation and service and I was told yes but after talking to my friend I see I was lied to. We have been customers since 2005 and she has only been a customer since 2018 but yet she was afforded a better deal than us which I totally do not understand. She has only two inside cameras and we have two outside cameras and an inside camera so we also have more merchandise than her and we still werent given any type of discount. There have been several alarm system dealers who have come to our home and given us a better deal but we refused them because we have been customers with ADT for so long. I dont know why Im writing this I doubt if anyone reads it or acts on it.

We were paying $172 a month for a business account. Brinks offers the same services for less than $70 month. The cancellation process is very difficult and lengthy. Even with no contract, you are required to give 30 days notice. Do not recommend.

We used the tree day right to cancel here in Texas. Only the sensors on the doors were installed. We took them off the same night and we called the man to pick up the items he left in our home for installation for the next day.After signing the three day right to cancel, we took a photo of the cancellation paper and mailed it right away. We then went online to cancel, signed a document and also took a photo of it and sent it. Called to verify that we had done all the steps to cancel before the third business day had ended. We were still charged for the service. We called month after month, hours on the phone to get our money back and to be sure to not get charged again. I would lock my credit card to avoid anymore transactions. Every month the ADT would attempt to charge my card again.. Finally after so many months of phone calls with ADT, we received the refund and we thought it was over. NOPE! A third party bill collector is now calling us for the payment. ADT has confirmed that we have no account with them and we owed them nothing, but now the third party bill collector harassing us wont give us a chance to explain the horror that ADT had us in for a year. We now have to ask them to validate the debt as it is our right under the Federal Debt Collection Practice Act. ADT, something needs to be done to correct your mistake. We used our rights to cancel. You, ADT, are not above the law.

My technician Charles charged me for a fob that I specifically told him I did not want to purchase. He told me I would get a refund. I called several times to get a refund but he nor his manager answered my calls. The representative stated that it’s out of their hands and will not refund me for the fob. Horrible customer service. I do NOT recommend.

This is my review of the San Antonio TX ADT corporate office. I have been an ADT customer for over 7 years in 3 different houses. I have been very impressed and satisfied with level of service and the quality of the equipment. My install in my new house took 10 hrs. The installer was professional, courteous and well dressed. Always used booties when entering my new home. Explained everything to myself and my wife. All the wires were tucked away and looked great. He explained all the equipment, panels, tablet, cameras, sensors and detectors very well. My ADT lady Jennifer has been my corporate REP in all 3 homes, my parents home and multiple of my referrals. I could not be more happy with my purchase and ongoing service. Thank you for your time and buy with confidence.

First of all I made my appointment with ADT on the Aug 24, ADT canceled my appointment, gave me another day, then cancelled again, then Because of a time slot which “we” agreed to and ADT text me with the wrong time slot. After finally resolving the problem and finding out from the technician that the device was improper for the shower I was surprised with a $25 service charge. Very disappointed

Second person, James Kem in San Antonio sales, actually hung up on me when I asked him to verify and spell his name.Obviously being a customer for 18 years doesnt count for much. Honestly, just save yourself the hassle and get a Ring or go with another company. Our first problem started with their sales team not knowing what they were selling. Our installation was on May 11, 2019. When setting up the installation appointment, I told ADT exactly what I wanted in my home and paid their promotional installation fee of $49.99 over the phone. I specifically asked if there would be any other charges at the time of installation, and I was told by their sales team that there would be no additional charges and that I would just begin my monthly service fee of $58.99 to include video service. Once the technician came to my home and already started installation, I was told that Ill have to pay an additional almost $900 out of pocket to get the equipment and services I wanted, which included a $299 service upgrade fee that I wasnt made aware of until after a hole was put in my wall and equipment installed. After an hour of talking to their customer service again, I eventually agreed to pay the extra fees since my wife and I are having our first kid and I have to work long overnight shifts 3 months out of the year, and it would be another hassle to drag out finding another company (which actually would have been less of a hassle in the long run). After paying the additional almost $900, we were told by the technician that he didnt even have all the equipment that he had just accepted our payment for, and had us sign our contract just minutes prior. The technician told us that he or his manager could come back the following week with the equipment to finish installation. Already frustrated, regretting ever contacting ADT, and wanting to just get it over with, I agreed to let them just bring the rest of the equipment (2 outdoor cameras) the following week. It is now July 8th and we still do not have the outdoor cameras we paid for. For more than 2 months now, we have been spending at least an hour on the phone each week with customer service trying to get the equipment that we paid for, only to be told that they dont have any outdoor cameras, that they do not have the equipment that they accepted payment for. Each week, we have to explain again and again our situation, because no one ever calls us back with any update on our situation, no one communicates with each other over there, nor does anyone follow through with their promises to resolve our situation. Its a constant run around between ADT and their contractor, Defenders. ADT always blames Defenders, as the ones who sell and install the equipment, and that ADT only handles the monthly services. All I wanted was a peace of mind that my pregnant wife and our son who is due soon, will be safe while Im away trying to provide for my family. In the end, this is the BIGGEST REGRET in any purchase Ive ever made. Im really hoping that someone from ADT sees this and finally even attempts to resolve our situation. But sadly, Im sure my wife and I will have to continue following up with them ourselves as neither ADT, nor Defenders, have taken any initiative to do their jobs. The only reason Ive continued to fight this for this long is because I dont want any lapse in switching to a new company, leaving my wife at home unprotected any little bit for any amount of time.

I have had a horrible experience with ADT services. The phone representative lured me in by telling me all the equipment are free and my first floor will be covered but they never told me that their limits on free equipment wont actually have my house fully covered and I got stuck in the contract and had to pay more money in order to get my first floor windows completely covered. They can charge what they want and its all fair but the problem all of this is not disclosed up front. I would recommend to all the buyers beware and really figure out what they are giving you before getting the security system put in and make sure what they say are free equipment actually covers your house or you will be paying it yourself. Would definitely not use ADT in the future.

We have had an excellent small business sales representative whom Id like to name because he has always delivered a top notch customer service approach when we have had an issue. His name is Ralph Perez. From the beginning he took the time to explain how the service worked, the cost (never any sales pressure and allowed us time to think about it and figure it into our budget), explained the set up and showed us how to operate our system. Recently switched to another security provider and called ADT to cancel my service after 15 years. I spoke to an agent in customer service and made it very clear I wanted to cancel my service. She verified my info and then transferred me to account services. In the process of being transferred, she told account services I was calling in to see about lowering my rate. To be clear, I NEVER said that. I immediately knew the con was on.I was transferred to Ian in account services who became very confrontational with me as soon as I told him I was trying to cancel my account. He essentially held me hostage on the phone and tried to grill me over why I was leaving ADT. I told him I didnt owe him an explanation and just wanted to cancel my account. The level of arrogance that ensued from this point forward was mind blowing. He put me on hold no less than three times and came back each time attempting to find out why I wanted to cancel. He was beyond disrespectful, and when I told him I was at work and needed to wrap things up, he replied Im at work too.Words cant convey how confrontational and arrogant this guy was. Hands down the worst customer experience Ive ever had. It would appear ADT is feeling the heat from the other internet based security companies. As such, it looks like theyve gone into desperation mode. If their game plan is to shame customers into staying, they need to devise another tactic. I cant run away from these guys fast enough. Shame on them. Stay far, far away.

Do not trust this company. They tell you that you are buying the equipment, but when we wanted to transfer to another location, they wanted to charge another $600 to buy another set of equipment. In addition, they said I needed to sign another 3 year contract. The real clue was that they send you a salesperson to meet, not a technician. Please be aware of their tactics, you will not realize that they are lying and exploiting you until you want to transfer services. There are other alarm companies to choose from, please dont be fooled by ADT and their tactics.

I have been with ADT for several years now and Ive recently had my second system installed. Ive continued service with then because of there quality of product as well as there customer service. Ive worked with Mathew Masten (Jake), both times Ive had a product installed and hes taken great care of me. My schedule doesnt work well for installations but he made sure it was taken care of and even paid a personal visit with the installation to ensure everything was to my liking. Great company and service, they are definitely the way to go!

They charge me a service fee when the technician went to my house and the phone operator did not mention this at all. Any service provided to fix a problem with equipment should be included with the monthly fee.

There is one star, but they do not deserve one star or any stars.This is the worst company that ever existed. I moved out of my home on 29 September 2-16. THE ADT rep, Darin Harwell, told me that he cancelled my account as of 5 October. They kept billing me (and calling me when the new owners set off the alarm) and as you can imagine, I kept calling Mr. Harwell and he kept telling me that he had taken care of it. I put up with it for months and even let them take $60 out of my account every month. In April I had had enough of them telling me that they had taken care of it and I blocked them from taking $ from my account and got refunded from January on (paid for three months that I did not live there). Since that time I have spent UNTOLD hours on the phone with ADT, explained it over and over, and had them tell me that I owe them money because the ADT REP did not have the authority to cancel my account. Every day I get at least one call from ADT and when I answer it, they try to explain every event of the last nine months that I ALREADY KNOW. I do not want them to explain what happened. I want them to fix it and STOP CALLING ME. I am NOT going to pay for an alarm system in a home that I sold on 29 September 2016. I am NOT going to listen to their explanations of how the ADT REP did not have the authority to cancel my account. I think that they need to stop bothering me and move on.

Worst customer experience ever I returned my security cameras after 3 days and its been almost 1 month and still havent gotten my refund and now they pulled out the 2and payment for the security cameras and I called them to see whats going on they still havent processed my 1st return and denied my 2nd return.. horrible throwing the sign in the trash !!!!

Read the contract very carefully. You can end up owing ADT thousands of dollars if you ever cancel because you had to move. I am currently a hostage to their contract that they only allowed me to read for one minute and made me sign. #ADThostage

They told me I was getting 1 month free and I wasnt going to be charged until next month then makes me sign a paper that apparently says in very TINY print that I will be charged 24 hours after installation. Tried to backpedal and say that I will be getting the 1 month credit in form of gift card through the mail. 3 weeks later and no gift card. I tried getting in contact with the agent that got me to sign up and no reply after I mention that if I can go ahead & cancel the service because as I was told I was also being given a free trial which I can cancel if I actually do not enjoy the service. Im sure ADT Security is nice for a lot of people but because of this Authorized Dealer aka Bulldog Security Service.. I will be telling everyone I know how terrible ADT is. Disputed the charge with my bank since it is not even my social security they used for the account.
