Gun ownership in CA has always had its challenges, but this shop makes it easy. They have always been able to help me out with questions and firearm purchases. Between the CA Real ID restrictions and COVID-19 business closures I had a firearm tied up for almost 2yrs. Ryan responded to my emails quickly and even talked to the manufacturer to get my firearm transfered to their shop. They have been a huge help and I can not thank them enough.I am sad to hear that their shop is closing. However, when they open their new shop, I will be going to them indefinitely for my gun related needs. Thank you Gunfighter Tactical for being available to lawful gun owners.

Hands down, best firearms business in San Diego county.Most gun stores in this area in my opinion arent the best and have very lazy or unwelcoming staff. Uh, so this company doesnt answer their phone because they are too busy but their ammended hours of operation are from 11am to 4pm? Five hours?The reason I found out they dont answer their phone is because I was calling to see how they could have possibly sold the lower I have in my hands with the threading of the integrated CA compliance device showing from the exterior of the rifle. They clearly didnt machine it correctly and yet somehow still figured they could sell it. I would be very leary of this company.

Phone number talking about lions and prioritize customer and persons on the phone and they dont have time to pick up the phone and when I went there theyre close no line nit even a sign they will be back !

“Sexy” isn’t a choice word to describe a gun store, but that’s exactly what Gunfighter Tactical is. Maybe it’s the bright sign behind the counter, or the Motley Crue playing in the background, but it’s like walking into the gun-enthusiasts equivalent of a strip club! Granted, they have crayons for the kiddos, but the urge to throw all my money on the counter was immediate. The friendly staff weren’t offering lap dances but what’s the need when you’re surrounded by a beautiful array of armory. I highly recommend any gun lover to swing by and check them out.

I had an AR that just would not shoot, no matter what I did to it. I tried eight different powders, three different bullets and two different scopes. I contacted Ryan and he told me to bring it in. After a short conference at the store, he recommended a new Odin Works barrel. I ordered an 18 intermediate. When it came in, he told me to bring the AR in and they would take care of me while I waited. Amazing. I brought it in and Lee did the work while I waited, as promised. I went to the range today and shot 37 ladders of 4-rounds each. I got more sub-MOA groups than those over an inch. The new barrel even threw in four groups that were under 1/2. I cant say enough for the service that Ryan and Lee provided. Their expertise with firearms really shines, especially with the AR platforms. If you ever have a problem with an AR, go to Gunfighter Tactical. You WILL be treated right!

I highly recommend this gun shop, it is by far the best in San Diego.I purchased my first handgun here and Im so glad that I did. All the employees are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful; they take the time to explain all the details so you make the best purchase FOR YOU. I bought a Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm from them along with a custom Kydex Holster and double magazine holder. I got a great price, and have since bought a bunch of accessories for my gun as well. They gave me a great price for extra magazines so I can compete in USPSA matches.The shop is not huge, but they can order ANYTHING you need/want. Just ask them about an item you are interested in and they will get it within a few days.I also bought my Glock 35 from them, and they helped me install different sights on it for competitive shooting. They helped answer all questions I had on upgrades for it, and they continue to help me if I have issues.They helped me pick the perfect optic for my AR-15, and it has worked stupendously for me at competitions.I took my dads old Colt mustang to them to inspect it to make sure its still fine after 30 years of sitting in a closet. They took it completely apart and checked it all over making sure it was safe. Its great having people you can trust with things like that!I will continue to shop at Gunfight Tactical because they are by far the best gunshop in San Diego. Cant wait for the new location!

I feel pretty welcome here most of the time. Its always nice when they recognize me and call me by name. Its not important, but it shows appreciation.I love their no LE only policy. Thats why I buy from them mainly. They also have decent prices.The sales staff doesnt seem to like the idea of special ordering weapons outside of the mainstream, but maybe I just need to be more persistent next time. Im happy with the alternative they referred me to so far.I also had some stippling done on a pistol. WORTH IT! I have so much more control of the weapon now.

Excellent customer service upon arrival I was immediately greeted by one of the gunsmiths which answered my questions about the services they offer and the general price range for a custom build. They have a nice selection of mods for current builds at some of the fairest prices I have seen locally. Overall great experience will be coming back in the future.

Its about time I write a review for this awesome place. Even if Im not there for an extended period of time. The staff still remembers me. Its my go to store for just about anything from; gunsmithing, questions about a build I want to do next or a random part I forgot. Ive even had some of my car parts sandblasted by them without question.

Had a 1911 cerekoted here. They cerekoted the rails(!?!?), which compounds tolerances. That was a rookie move. They never performed a function’s check before handing it off to me. It wouldn’t cycle. Had to have a gunsmith do some work on it, but it’s running now. I never asked them to fix the problem because I didn’t have faith it would be done correctly. Nice guys, but lack experience.Ps: this review is about a year removed from the work they performed. I wanted to get a good idea of the damage before I wrote something up. Who knows, perhaps they’ve learned over time.

My first experience here was a hands down 5 out of 5 star experience. Staff was incredibly well versed in all gun laws, extremely professional and very friendly. The work required was a cerakote job which came out even better than I had imagined. The level of detail and workmanship is unparalleled, Ryan was relentless in going out of his way to meet the needs of the customer and helping me out on a tight timeline. During the entire process he maintained 100% communication to all progress that was being made and the timeline. Being in California I have a ton of respect for anyone who has the patience and resolve to open a gun shop. Not only does Gunfighter Tactical have a great store but they operate it better than any other gun store I have had the pleasure to frequent. Hands down recommend to any and all. Reasonable prices, but really great staff. Super helpful, and they dont mind spending their time just to help you out or educate you on any questions you might have. This is my go-to place for any work or smithing I need done. They also have a good stock of weird calibers like 8mm Mauser and 54R, which makes me happy as a fan of Military Surplus.

Stopped by just to pick up some .38spc after moving down from Montana. Was not only impressed with the attitudes and helpfulness of the staff, but it was great to see them helping another customer through a custom build part-by-part, giving advice and recommendations all while making sure myself and another customer who entered felt noticed and helped. CA is a far cry from MT, and I will for sure be coming back to these guys when I need help.

Inherited 3 shotguns from my dad that had not been fired for over 20 yrs. Gun Smiths onsite did a great job going through all shotguns to ensure that they are operating correctly with a full discussion with me when I arrived on work performed and current status of operation. Top shelf staff and would highly recommend.

Just recently went to their current location, huge space. Staff is very knowledgeable in an ever changing world of firearms they can answer most of your questions. They have a very capable shop and can ha dle probably anything you can throw their way. Im getting a match barrel blank and they said they could finish machine the chamber and crown. Any parts you buy from them they will install for free from what I have been told by an employee. They are very active with their customers and engaged in the sport. Ive been to other local stores and prefer these guys hands down.

Not the closest shop to me, but worth driving out of my way. These guys are knowledgeable and just genuinely enjoy what they do, regardless of a customers level of knowledge/expertise. You wont get sized up as you do at some gun shops/ranges, and you wont get pressured to buy things you dont need (though they pretty much have everything).

I have been to the majority of San Diegos gun shops and I can easily say that from the top down, these guys are the best. Their products and their advice are the second to none, and I have realized that over the last year, I have recommended no one else. Expert gunsmiths through and through ... if you like that sort of thing.

This is a very nice clean store. I have been here twice but havent bought anything. They dont have a big selection of handguns but seem very willing to order anything you want, that is CA compliant of course. They are extremely nice and friendly. Lots of AR parts and accessories in stock and available. The prices are pretty much MSRP. You could probably find a better deal. Not sure how the customer service would be though. Also this is a small store and needs to be supported.

I had such a terrible experience. I was excited to get my first gun and and learn a bit. But to my disappointment i was met with a snarky long haired dude who thought he was so cool... He would laugh at the questions I had and was very short answered. Dude was a douche... They only had like 4 guns and the one i wanted he advised they didnt have anymore. One of his coworkers had to let him know they had a bunch in the back.

Great stop! Great guys that know their stuff. I stopped by off of a recommendation from a friend and after this experience they are my go to gun shop in SD. Very competitive prices on everything from accessories to ammo. Youd be hard pressed to find better pricing online (outside of flash sales).

Before i went here, I couldnt believe this place had 4.8 stars (at the time of this writing.) After meeting Ryan, one of the owners, I couldnt believe the place didnt have 5 stars.The name belies the shear professionalism and excellence in service. Ive never met someone behind the counter so genuine and helpful. I was one of three customers getting help and he was able to make sure I had all my questions answered, show me product, and help the other people in the store with their needs too.Im still stunned at how great my experience was and never expected to receive that level of service anywhere nowadays.Will update if I have any after purchase problems but I dont expect to.

These young guys do not pay attention to details these days. I call to specifically ask if my handgun was ready to be picked up after waiting ten days. Gunfighter: “Yea, come and get it!” Me: “On my way”. Now that I am here I am writing this review from the parking lot as the guy now says I have another hour to wait on the ten days. All he had to do was take thirty seconds of his time and verify that the pistol was actually ready to go. Boo Millennials!

Friendly and helpful guys. FFL service prices are reasonable. When I was there they were explaining to customers what the new laws are with a floor model lower to demonstrate. Seems like they go above and beyond.

These guys are awesome. It’s a really nice shop, and very generously sized. I just moved to Rancho Bernado from Alpine, where I had my go to gun shop, but now, Ryan from Gunfighter has become my new favorite shop! These guys are awesome, extremely personable, very knowledgeable, very friendly, and very efficient. The shop runs like a well oiled machine, they always have the parts I need. I’ve done 2 transfers through them now, and bought tons of stuff from them, they carry Magpul, Strike, Radian, etc, all the goodies you need to furnish your firearm. Every time I walk in, I hear the owner say “Hey Brandon, what’s going on?” And that is something you just won’t get at most gun shops. Go check them out!

So I have always had the desire to build an AR 15, but never had the knowledge. Most shops have guys who know a lot, but arent pleasant to those of us who know little about the technical details of guns (like myself). Well I stumbled into Gunfighter Tactical a while back and decided I found the place to help me build my AR. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and helped me get everything I needed. They put together the upper receiver for me, and needless to say it was done very well. Shot it the next day and I couldnt be happier. If you want a great gun purchasing / building experience, go to Gunfighter Tactical and you will not be disappointed.

Drove from El cajon to visit this place. Heard a lot of good things from respected calgun members. They did not disappoint me what so ever. Got stuck in traffic on my way back, but was worth the trip overall.I normally only support a few local gun shops but this one is definitely going on my list of places next time I need something, no matter the distance or time spent back and forth.Reading up on the site and the policy they believe in, I can truly say that I stand behind them.

I live in Chula Vista and I dont mind the drive coming to this store for two reasons.1. Custumer service is unmatched. The crew is very knowledgeable and friendly and will take the time to explain what you need to know. Ryan is a template of customer service!2. Ive been to a quite a few larger gun stores in San Diego but this is the only gun shop that I have been to who offers military discount no matter how large or small the purchase is.

I had no clue who these guys were nor where their store is located, i live in san bernardino and my brother in law took my lower to see if they could preform a job that all local gunsmiths said was not possible(installing hellfighter kit on a spikes jack lower), got my lower back today and work is top notch!!! hope to visit this store someday!

The staff here are knowledgeable, friendly, and havent yet tried to upsell me on anything. Sure, that might be because I havent tried to buy anything (I dont have a California drivers license, which basically prevents me from buying any firearms here), but when I was asking about CAs gun laws I didnt hear them upselling anyone else, either. In fact, once I was explicitly told that though they offered a service, I could likely get it done cheaper at another place. Im not sure I will, though; that kind of honesty needs to be nurtured and rewarded. They also had an excellent selection of triggers, optics, firearms, and other accessories, which made it well worth the visit.

1. I came to the shop in need of a gunsmith. I own an AK UNDERFOLDER that had the folding stock pinned to meet CA compliance laws. I since then extended the barrel with a muzzle break to have the gun at the 30 inches in length, a requirement for CA rifles. Therefore, I had no need for my folding stock to continue to be pinned. Eric, one of the gunsmiths, removed the pin and made my underfolder and actual underfolder. He did an excellent job and I am very much pleased with his work. I dropped my AK off on a Saturday morning and it was done come Monday morning. The job cost me $35, which was great!2. The shop is awesome. Very well organized, guns displayed beautifully, and plenty of walking/viewing space.3. Customer service is above superb. Seriously, the staff is great and they really do make you feel welcomed. They are all very up to date on the current gun laws, and their gunsmiths are top notch. They can get anything done. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP FOR ALL YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT NEEDS!!!!!!
