I was a bit skeptical at first using a dealership in the big city of Houston to sell my classic car, but everything went smoothly from start to finish. I recently visited Gateway Classic Cars to consign my antique Pontiac. During the process of consigning, but before any agreement, I was approached by another customer to purchase the car. After some discussion with Gateway personnel, the car was sold. Gateway even helped us with the transaction.Both the purchaser and myself looked for ways to compensate Gateway, but they refused all but a very small amount. Nice Houston Warehouse, the inventory there is very extensive and they have some gorgeous vehicles for sale, took in my 1978 2WD K5 Blazer Cheyene to be sold there and I know they won’t disappoint. Overall I was pleased. We ran into several snags in the process but they finally got the car listed and it sold quickly. Everyone there was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I would consider using them again to sell as they take all the work off your hands.

I was pleased with the consignment process...the agreed price to be paid out to me when I showed up was what we discussed after they had seen several high quality photos. They made it very clear that the payout price was contingent on their final inspection, and they were very transparent and explained all very well. Duke Montross was the representative who helped me and could not have been nicer.as a followup...they just mailed me a check...car sold...low to no stress, and more importantly, no time out of my crazy schedule. This is a really great set of people in the Houston store...the only problem is I think I might want to buy one of the camaros i saw there when i dropped off my spitfire...be forwarned: they have an amazing collection available....

My son and I went to the Houston location to check on cars. The location is awesome and there are a lot of cars to look at. When we got there we were told not to touch anything, which is totally understandable. We spent quite some time looking at cars and I saw one I was interested in. Back at the office I started asking questions about a potential purchase and about testing the vehicle. We were told there was no way to drive any of these cars unless an agreement has been reached between seller and buyer. Even after a deposit made the car could only be driven on their lot, not on any street. I asked about an independent inspection and was told this was possible, however, they did not have a lift. How can anyone be expected to spend a large amount of money for something you cannot test and that cannot be properly checked out? Should a company like that not at least have all the tools needed prior to somebody spending more than 100,000$ (for some of the cars)? I have been in cars for decades and it is my opinion that if you want to see some really nice ones I recommend to go there. If you seriously consider to buy though, go somewhere else.

I heard about Gateway Classic Cars and for a small fee up front they will hold your car for you, take pictures of your car and then advertise it all over the worldI dealt with Duke Montross and he sold my corvette for me in 2 weeks!I also have a serious health problem and Duke worked with me the entire time.Onvce the car was sold, Audrey Markiton from Gateway drove an hour to my house to settle up the paperwork with me and gave me the monies for the Corvette.These people are Fantastic to deal with if you have a classic car you want to sell!

This review is for the Houston location specifically. I have bought 3 cars from Gateway and every transaction and vehicle were as described. I really liked Gateway up until today. I purchased a 2007 corvette about 2 years ago from the Houston location. I just recently tried to sell it and there was an accident reported. Now I know when they bought the vehicle from the previous owner, they checked and knew it had been in an accident. When I bought it, they assured me it was not in any accidents and carfax was clean. I was even thinking of buying another vehicle from them. Very disappointed

I had a pleasurable buying experience with Gateway Classic Cars of Houston. I flew down from Wisconsin to look at the car, a 1957 Chevy, after putting a deposit on it to insure it was not sold before I got there. Dealing with Aaron Duhon made this very easy. He picked me up at the airport & brought me back for my return flight home. I had noticed a minor noise with the rear brakes. Aaron contacted the owner who came & picked up the car to have it repaired. Everyone in the office is a team player and you can see the professionalism they exhibit. In my mind, you can not go wrong dealing with this company.

Great selection of cars. These guys do a lot of consignment so the asking price on some are a bit on the high side as the people putting their car on consignment always think they are worth more than they actually are. They try to get a fair price for both buyer and seller.
