Right now were sitting at Advance Auto after visiting this place and spending 500 dollars for Midas to fix it for them to hook it up and the exact same issues show up that they supposedly fixed. Now were 60 miles from another Midas BC we trusted that paying that much , the guys there would have fixed it and may not even make it to another to have it fixed again.

My father and I got a flat tire heading to the airport. We called Midas and and Josh (Store Manager) said they could try and fit us in before 5:00 to make our flight. As it turns out, when we arrived to the store, Josh went above and beyond and had our car in and tires replaced within an hour.Josh and his crew provided exceptional service. I take all 3 of my cars here- a 2016 chevy equinox with 75,000 miles; 2014 Nissan Murano 105,000; and 2008 Toyota Sienna 227,000 miles. These guys are great- knowledgeable, honest- tell you what really needs to be fixed, and when other repairs can wait a bit longer. Midas provides a reasonable warranty on repairs - They do great work!

No issues with this place at all. They are very reasonable and kind. I had my after market exhaust installed with some issues with the brand and they made it work even though it wasn’t their fault. They are good priced and never overrate a price. I’ve had oil changes and tire rotations with good quality as well as headlights installed. I recommend this Midas over other ones for sure.

Amazing service !! I thought I could never drive my van because it has had so many problems in the past. We went to several places, but it was only Midas Gurnee that took the time and efforts to figure out and fix the issue, without charging extra money. They were concerned about mine and my familys safety the entire time. Because of them, I could drive my van confidently. They are very knowledgeable, patient, kind and professional. I called midas Friday night and spoke to Natalie. I ended up making an appointment for 12pm the next day. I was supplying brand new rear brake rotors and pads, and there were just going to charge me $150 + tax for labor.The next day I show up at noon and Natalie had no idea what I was there for, had to explain everything again to her. I got a call a little while later from the manager, she had said they took my brake calipers off and determined that they were locked up and completely destroyed and that they would need to be replaced along with a brake fluid flush service, but monday was the soonest they would get the parts and that the car was too dangerous to drive and would have to be left there for repair. I knew something about this wasnt right because I had looked at the brakes just days before and the calipers were fine. I asked her to button up the car and that I would be in to pick it up to which she said Do you want to kill it? I didnt understand so I said excuse me, and she repeated herself. I simply said I dont think the calipers are bad so I want to pickup ny car, she said she would have to charge for a half hour of labor ($66).Upon picking up the car, the manager came out to me and started explaining the issue again. I politely mentioned that I was a mechanic at Firestone for many years and that When I do these brakes tomorrow and find that the calipers are not seized, can I get a refund for this half hour of labor? To which she said no. I smiled and said okay, thanks and turned for the door. She raised her voice so the customers in the waiting room could hear and said SORRY YOU NEED CALIPERS as I walked out.I did the brakes myself today and concluded that there was nothing wrong with the calipers. I have attached pictures to this review to show both calipers with the pistons extended and compressed, in perfect working order. Even a picture of the brakes finished and my midas quote for proof.If you have made it this far in the review, thanks for reading. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS MIDAS AS YOU CAN, theyre about as fraudulent and predatory as an auto shop can be. They had no problem with trying to upsell me 2 expensive parts, a fluid service and take away my vehicle for 2 days (1 being a work day) all so they could make a quick buck. You should be ASHAMED of yourselves, think of all of the people that didnt have the knowledge to refuse an expensive service order.Since the manager reads these reviews, listen to me closely - I will be contacting my bank today to challenge this charge. YOU DONT HAVE TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE ITS THE LAST TIME THEY WILL BE THERE, you would be incredibly surprised to find out that people will come back if you are just HONEST to them.The last picture I attached is the envelope they gave me: Thank you for trusting the midas touch.What a joke. STAY AWAY FROM MULLER HONDA! Dont be impressed by the big clean dealership and logo. Youll be paying for it. Their mechanics are no better than most other shops and often display no skilled tradesman experience. In my past I worked as a trusted and respected auto mechanic, a service manager, a general manager and owned an auto repair shop. Hence, I know what Im talking about when it comes to servicing vehicles. While away in California I instructed my girl friend to take her Honda Pilot to Muller where she bought it for a brake check. What a nightmare that was. Five days later the car was towed to Midas of Gurnee. Josh and his associates at Midas saved us from the horrid bandits at Muller, (including all management and Honda of America). In two hours Midas inspected the brakes with honesty and restored them to factory like condition with no bad news call from Josh. BTW, Midas found Muller had installed a rebuilt brake part without informing my girl friend. She paid for the bill relying on their total honesty and workmanship which there was none. The brakes failed her the next morning. Face it people, we all know honesty is the first thing on your mind when you walk into a shop to give up your money.

Stopped in as I had a tire problem. They were not busy as I was the only customer at that time. He asked me if I had another mask as it didnt conform. My mask covered my nose and mouth like every other mask. When I asked him what the problem was his response was don t shoot the messenger. The next customer came in and needed tires. He wasnt wearing a mask. Waited until he was sure he was going to service him before he asked him if he had a mask. I wont be going back.

I went to Firestone for an oil change, they ended up telling me that I needed pads, rotors and calipers all the way around....they wanted $1,800. I was shocked because I hadnt had any issues with the brakes. I left and called around a bit, was able to get into Midas quickly. I told them what Firestone said and they said they would take a look at it. They were very honest with me.... I wasnt even close to needing calipers. I only needed pads and rotors, they could have lied to me, but they didnt. Very honest! Great work at a great price! I found my new shop!

I highly recommend this Midas, Great customer service and they also worked with my warranty company and took care of all the paperwork. They got me on the road before I headed out on vacation for a 6 hour ride. My truck ran better than it ever had before, even pulling a boat behind it. It drove like there was nothing behind me on the long ride there. They definitely put the Midas touch on my truck. Josh and his crew went above and beyond to make my experience a pleasant one. Edit: went In for a check engine light. Diagnosed with almost a 2000$ fix. Took the car for another look at another shop, service adviser pointed out that they didnt see any problems that Midas told me and instead showed me what was wrong. $400 dollars later my car is running great. Went to another shop again to check. That original problem that Midas told me about was still not existent. I really thought I had found a reputable shop. I did not. I will now always wonder how much Ive been taken for.(Original) I have been using this Midas for 2 years. And not only have I ever had good service, I have been given the correct information about what my cars need to keep running. They Have offered coupons, and have given me options - even telling me that I could research other options. I did the last time. Found a slightly less expensive option, but will go to this Midas to get a reliable product and service. I am a repeat customer, and would say I have never had a huge wait time even when I show up without calling in prior.

I thought Id give this Midas one last try. I wont be back. The last time I was here I was helped by the same guy, Josh H. He lies. I CANNOT tolerate lies from my mechanic. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest anyone who values honesty does the same.During my last visit I had asked for the inspection with my oil change. When I got home and looked at the paperwork I realized I didnt have the Inspection sheet. I called to see if they had it. Josh said yeah its right here we spilt oil on it so we didnt want to give you a dirty sheet I asked if he could copy it to a clean one and I could pick it up the next day. When I stopped in I was informed that based on there records they didnt do the inspection. That I hadnt requested to have it done. This was Joshs first LIE to me that I knew of.On Jan. 9th I brought in my car for an oil change and a headlight replacement. Josh helped me again. He talked to me about how slow it was because of the weather. I made a point to make sure he knew I wanted the inspection and left it in their hands.When I picked it up he didnt have the inspection sheet again. He said to me that he was short guys so he didnt have them do it. LIE #2 Before I left it with them he told me they were slow. Which is it Josh?Now for the head light. I had try to replace the bulb but when I installed a new one the lights wouldnt turn on at all. I assumed I was doing something wrong and so I figured they could pop one in better than I could. I had inspected my other lights while trying to fix the one that was out. The headlight was the only problem.Josh mentioned he replaced an indicator for free because one of mine were out I had just inspected them earlier so I knew this was LIE #3When I paid and headed home I realized my headlight was still out. How do you not take the time to inspect a repair to a headlight? All you have to do is look at it to see if it works. I went back and Josh said he would take a look at it that it was just working. After a few moments he came back and said that the bulb was turning on and then immediately burning out. This was LIE #4 let me tell you why. I took my car to an honest mechanic, I.D. Auto Service, and he actually fixed the light. The problem was the wiring. There was no way for the light to Turn on and burn out I will be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest anyone who values honesty does the same

Took it in to get the brakes bled. Lady was super nice on the phone initially but then told me I needed a new master cylinder which was $520 so I called the dealer who quoted me the same price and decided Id go with the dealer. I told the lady I wasnt interested and she sarcastically told me to have a great day and hung up. So I took my vehicle to Cadillac and after diagnosing they said the master cylinder was perfectly fine and they only had to bleed the brakes! Wont be coming back here again.

Took my car here for a simple oil change. Had a coupon for it plus free tire rotation and free fluids topped. I made an appointment but they still took about an hour to get me in and out. When they were rotating my tires there was a man hitting my tire with a hammer, which didnt look right to me. So I finally left and noticed the next day that my check engine light was on and my car was driving funny. I took it back there a few days later and they said it was something with the fluids. They didnt even bother to check my tires unless I paid them more which I wasnt going to do. Needless to say I took it elsewhere and found out they topped my fluids too high and my tires werent balanced properly when they rotated them. I took my car back to Midas and they said I had to pay $90 to flush the fluids and even more to get my tires balanced. They shouldve fixed their own mistakes but they didnt. I will never go to this place ever again and I dont recommend it for anyone else!

Talked to Natalie on Saturday and made an appointment for Sunday. Upon arrival no appointment was found. Luckily (or unluckily) they took my car in for an oil change. They completed the task sooner than expected, all looked well but in the evening I saw an oil spot under the car and noticed that the computer was not reset and the maintenance required light was still on .Went back to the shop and was given an explanation that it was the coolant leaking. No reason why would thar happen after an oil change. They could fix it immediately and even had the parts ready. For an extra charge of course.The spot in my garage definitely did not look like coolant and how could they have the parts - it is not a very common car?Left the shop ( never to come back) for possibly a second opinion if it continued leaking. Three days later not a drop under the car.

I new which tyre was where, and had a pics too. So they were lying they did rotate but they didnt and they did it for me.Very bad.At least dont lie.

Just trying to squeeze another dollar out of you. You can feel the dishonesty and scamming in the air of that place. The one time I brought my car there I felt like I had to watch them work to make sure they were doing everything they said I needed fixed. They offered a complimentary tire rotation and didnt even fix or reset the tire pressure senors. The tpms light came on before i even left their parking lot. Never ever going back.

Place charged my wife $100 to repair a wiper issue that took them less than 15 minutes to address. When I called for further information on what was needed to repair the wiper, they couldnt give me anything. Ended up with a $50 refund when the manager couldnt explain why they charged so much.Place is fine for an oil change, but Id avoid having any work done here.

I gave this location $1200 in new brake business. I took it back because of a squeak in the brakes. The location said all that was needed was for the brakes to be greased. They made me wait two hours and then said the car had been left in accessory mode in the bay, causing my battery to discharge. It was re-charged but died again.. They had to jump it for me to drive it out. They said they re-charged it but it was dead the next day. Im waiting to hear from John who I was told is the owner of this Midas location. I also filed a complaint with the corporate office Triple A said the battery had some life left in it and that the dealer should make this right. Well see.

I really cannot say enough good about how the new management has turned things around at this site. About 6 months before them, I had brought one of my vehicles in for a muffler replacement. I had to bring our vehicle back at least 3 times and the issue still was not resolved until I brought it into the new shop. It took them a couple of times to figure out what exactly the problem was, fair enough, but they soon figured it out and the exhaust is better than it ever was after the previous repairs and, of course, all under the companys warranty with no out-of-pocket expenses following the initial repair. Josh and his team were simply outstanding. I was honestly taken back at how genuinely kind and concerned Josh was regarding our issue. He was professional, accommodating, and ultimately got the job done. My confidence in Midas of Gurnee has been restored, thanks to Josh and the new crew.

THEY drained old oil but DID NOT PUT OIL! and ALMOST DESTROYED the Engine of my SUV!!!I had my oil change done with a tire rotation. After one hour, they told me that it is all done and I can pick up my car. I paid then drove about 8 miles to a dealership to do the wheel alignment. A service technician at the dealership asked me how long ago I did an oil change because there was an engine oil warning light on. I said, I just did it less than 30 minutes ago at a MIDAS. He said there was no oil when he checked with an oil stick. There was no leak, it was all clean. He took me to the work area and wanted to check with me together, and open the cap and no oil coming out, IT WAS EMPTY!! I was shocked! it has never happened before. He says I was lucky that my engine didnt get destroyed, driving 20 minutes with NO Engine OIL! Could have been a Nightmare!

Where do I begin? I recently went into Midas Gurnee for an oil change and after looking at my car an hour later they called to inform me that I needed new struts and tires... They quoted me over $2800. I went picked up my car and told them Id be getting a second opinion. They seemed very surprised by my response, they probably figured because I was a young female I would just take their word and trust their quote. Today, I was able to bring my car into my family mechanic and they spent over an hour checking out everything on my car and said nothing was wrong with it. My tires are practically new and my struts show no damage. There is not a doubt in my mind that the workers at Midas in Gurnee saw a young female walk in for an oil change and thought they could easily make more money off of me. The coupons they send out to you are a scam to get you to come in so they can find something else you dont actually need and charge you for. I would never recommend Midas to anyone and will never bring any car into a Midas ever again.

Prices are too expensive. I asked about brakes and rotors and they quoted me almost $400 dollars which is absurd for brakes for my car. Ive never paid that much ever! Okay so my car started acting up with a check engine light after my stay at Six Flags. I have an obd scanner and I get a misfire on cylinder 3. Okay. Could be various things like my spark plugs, ignition coils, ect. I didnt have time to figure it out on my own so I take it to Midas right? I tell them already about the misfire but they wont work on it until the code is triggered again? They wasted my time, gas, and money and $120 just to tell me stuff i already know? why couldnt they have just said listen we just couldnt figure it out, sorry about that. i would have been fine, but for them to charge me for not being able to figure out the issue is insane.

I called on 03/03/13 at 11:00 A.M. to get an estimate for 1 tire change. I was put on hold for 10 mins and then hung up on. I called again and spoke to the same person, by the name of Jason. He said “Yeah the guy who can give you that is not here and I’m fit to get off at 3 P.M. I can’t help you”. I wouldn’t put my car in the hands of people who don’t seem to like their job and can’t be polite to people who are making them money.. but that’s just me.

I took my car in for a routine oil change and ended up with a much bigger bill down the road. I noticed my car started to idle rough and then it would shut off when I came to a stop. Well to make a long story short Midas never used the synthetic oil I paid for and they never rotated the tires. That being said I took my car to a mechanic who showed me the amount of oil that was in the engine and how burned it was, basically if you don’t use the right kind of oil it will burn it, there was only about two and a half quarts left. The oil fill on my car clearly estates the type oil to be used. Shame on you Midas for not making sure your employees do the right thing. I’m not asking for a refund or anything but I strongly warn people about this practice. I got lucky and I caught it on time but it could have bin worse.

Went in for an oil change, called ahead had an Appointment then was asked if Id like the complimentary inspection and tire rotation.. Said Yes. My husband and I dropped the car off went for lunch. We received a call about things that needed to be done, all that we know we can do ourselves and save for example change the license plate light. Well when we go to pick up our vehicle we waited about 5 min before the Woman came to the front, my keys were just on the counter where anyone could grab them. So everything that was suggested I asked for it to be repeated to my husband when picking up our car. Front lady was rude from the beginning after my husband asked what they suggested she replied I already told your wife, next time I can just speak to you. Her tone was very unprofessional and says Next time we dont have to get the inspection.. So because we can do those things ourselves and save money youre upset?? We wont be going back to Midas.. Im not one for confrontation so we left and couldnt believe how rude she was and how she could talk to customers that way.

I went in for an oil change and they forgot to adjust my digital oil readout. No big deal. The day after my oil change, on my way to work, on an expressway, my hood looked like it was going to fly open. When I got to work, I opened my hood and they left a tool on my engine.

Had my car serviced at Gurnee Midas this week and they mechanic neglected to lock my car after he was done working on it. My car was subsequently ransacked and several personal items were stolen including my garage door opener. All the manager said was sorry. Well Im sorry too - sorry Ill never bring my car back there because I cant trust them anymore.

I got ripped-off. I went there to use $19.99 oil coupon and I had another $39.99 coupon for Alignment check. I was told that I could use only one coupon and oil change coupon will only save you $10. So, I decided not to get the oil change and instead told them to do the alignment check. I had to $59.99 oil change. Even Acura dealer doesnt do fully synthetic oil for a 2010 Acura TL. Never going back again.Update - the manager spoke to me and discussed the review and the confusion we had. We’ve sorted it out. I got another oil change here last week. A “visual” check of battery was done, next day my battery died in the parking lot.

Had rear brakes done two days ago. went to my local tire shop today to have rear tires replaced. they said my lugnuts were overtightened andone broke + the stud when removing. they needed to use the machine with 600 lbs worth of torque to get them off. I call midas they immediately got defensive and claimed they did nothing wrong, and that they have to check their cameras. never doing business here again. Review will be updated with whatever resolution they come to.UPDATE: after about an hour, the owner approved fixing stud/lug nut for no charge. however would not admit fault.years ago I brought my car here for brakes and an oil change. I knew the oil was low before bringing it in but decided not to waste $10 on oil since they were going to change it. the day after the supposed oil change happened my vehicle was running really loud. I go and check my oil, it didnt even read on the dipstick. I called, they insisted they changed the oil. I bring it in, with in 2 mins of looking at it sir, Im so sorry. we will take care of it.BUYER BEWARE

I dont wnt to give even a one star. They are not worth it. My car stopped working day before thanksgiving, so i called my towing company and got my car towed to them. i paid $ 650 to fix whatever the issue they tild me car has. in the evening i drove back my car and then next day morning my car did not start at all. since it was a thanksgiving day, i did not call them. I called them day after that and they were not cooperative at all. they did not want to bare the cost of towing.going to take to another shop, if i get same issue , i will sue midas,
