All my fears about being taken for a ride (pun intended) as a person without car knowledge were put to rest when I took my old car in for an inspection and to check on a problem filling the gas tank. Not only were the guys on time, knowledgeable and friendly, they also fixed the problem without charging more. It takes quite a bit to restore my trust in car mechanics, but these guys did. Im not going anywhere else. I love their honesty and straightforwardness.

I love this auto mechanic shop. Always worth waiting to bring it in to them vs. going to a chain store. My aging Honda was making some shrill metallic sounds, so I rolled it into the store where I bought its tire, who are known for tires & brake servicing as well. They checked it out, and the itemized repair bill came to around $800. Total replacement of the whole brake system, front & rear. Painful, but I do want a car that doesnt scream down the street.My dad & partner suggested a second opinion. Bob James saved me $500. They took care of the sound causing issue that was back brake specific. They use simple language and communicate clearly. They arent intimidating. So grateful they exist. Next time I wont waste a day at another shop and will bring it directly to Bob James.

We got referrals from friends, called around and checked prices. Nobody beats the guys at Bob James Auto. If youre looking for a cushy waiting room or pick up and delivery service, this is not the place for you. If you want your car fixed right the first time, done on time, at a price that beats the competition, there is nobody better.

My fiance and I have been going to Bob James for both of our vehicles for a few years now. We have received uniformly excellent service from them. When we were debating the purchase of a used vehicle they looked it over for us very thoroughly. When my very old very high mileage Camry recently broke down I thought it was dead and that I would have to buy a new car. Not only were they able to figure out the various things that needed to be fixed but they did it for a lot less than I was expecting. When they gave me a cost estimate it was pretty much right on, and they were very honest about possible other issues.I recommend Bob James highly. It has been probably 8+ years since Ive had a mechanic I trust, I was thrilled to find as good of a mechanic as Bob James when I moved to Eugene. His quality does mean that there is usually a waiting list, but the wait is worth it.

Be it an over-used phrase, but I just cant say enough about these guys.
