Body shop is on point. Johnny is hands down the best body man around. A classic car restorer. Muffler shop is excellent. Welding is on point. Dont use them as MECHANICS. They were supposed to replace my tensioner pulley. Busted my radiator. Didnt tell me. I drove it home with antifreeze pouring all over my engine compartment and a huge puddle in my driveway. After calling a real ASE certified mechanic I found out that they busted a pressure hose. Its vital for my car. They replaced the radiator. But tried to charge me $500 for labor on the pulley! The mechanic didnt know how to fix it, so he literally watched YouTube videos to do it. Now, Johnny and his daughter are beautiful people, but they really need to close the mechanic side down.

Called to see if I had to schedule an appointment to get my muffler welded and lady said they had an opening so when I show up there is a car that is getting worked on. I left my number so they could call me to come back when they were available and 5 days later still no call. Im going somewhere else to get my car fixed.

My 86 year old Mother in law took her old Cadillac in for service because it was overheating . Yes it has the North Star engine in it. To my surprise they said that the thermostat was bad and it needed to be burped because of an airlock in the coolant system . And that costed $150 but they said that it was fixed but after test driving it the mechanic said the wheel bearing was bad and he could not let them take the car home it wasnt safe and then proceeded to point out that the water pump was an original from 2006 and she should replace that along with the wheel bearings The next morning they called my mother-in-law back and said it would be $1,200 and the car would be ready Tuesday. against my wishes she agreed .So on Friday I went up to the shop to find out what was going on with the car this is when I met the mechanic from hell. Who is taking one of what I assume was many breaks of the day sitting at the front desk in the air conditioningThis guy prays on women customers and people who do know not know anything about cars. With my mother-in-law by my side I asked him why he would replace a water pump that wasnt broke and why it was taking so long to do the job . He tells me its a hard job that he needs to take breaks from and proceeds to show me the car in the shop and what I see is tool strewn all over the place busted pieces and parts around the engine area Hammer marks where I dont think they should be. And then tells me hes under pressure by the boss to get the job done so they can make payroll and it will be done by tomorrow. Saturday comes he calls my mother-in-law to talk to me that he has to show me something so I go up there and he found out he had to take off the water pump housing and replace a gaskets that it would cost 85 more dollars but they would waive that be if she paid up today being Saturday and he would finish the car Monday against my wishes she did pay for the job in full so she waits till Wednesday to go pick up the car to come to find out the mechanic didnt show up that week and no work has been done on the car unlike they were telling her when she called and mechanic there said he would take over the job as soon as he could and have it ready by Saturday she picked up the car on Saturday to find out the original mechanic was supposedly fired drove the car from Lorain to Amherst and it overheated after all of us called several times and different phones were pretty sure our numbers are blocked or nobodys working there. if your car breaks down AOK parking lot pay to have it towed elsewhere trust me

They had fair prices and the person who answered the phone was polite and knowledgeable. I didnt get any actual service thats why I couldnt give 5 stars.

My Wifes Equinox had a split in the mid muffler, I took it in to A OK yesterday and they fixed it quickly and at a very reasonable price (especially compared to the $600+ that Conrads quoted me). Sounds great now! John, the owner is a cool guy too-it was my first time meeting him and he spoke to me like hes known me for years, very down to earth dude. Highly recommend this shop!

After calling and scheduling a appointment, I arrived early and got told to go find the short white guy on the property. Say what? Yea we don’t do muffler repairs up front it’s out back. After 10 min of looking for any other human I opened a employee only door and had a guy tell me he didn’t know where the guy was but that I should walk around outside and look for him. So I did. Finally I found the guy and he said stay right there and I’ll be back. I waited. And waited. Then he comes back and says sit tight they are pulling a truck out of the bay and you can pull in for your estimate. 40 minutes later still waiting outside the bay door I just left. Tuffy in Elyria got the simple sleeve and weld done for under $100. Put simply, the place seems skeezy and definitely lacks any form of professionalism.

Horrible customer service. Owner is rude and will hang up on you and ignore your calls. Almost a week and a half of having the car and it still is not fixed. Call everyday to be told it will get done next day and its not ready. Bad business and would not recommend to my worst enemy

My neighbor told me about AOK and I am so happy he did. Had a new muffler system put on today, it it is no ordinary muffler system. It is a van with a wheel chair ramp and it had to be custom. I went there Monday and they were so busy (which is good to see if they are busy, they are good). So I went back this morning. I saw a lot of TEAMWORK among all the employees...everyone was busy and working hard. They have excellent customer service starting with Karissa at the service desk, she is very pleasant and knows the business as well as her counterparts. I couldn’t believe the excellent price and how quickly it was done. I would recommend AOK to everyone who has been unhappy with the other popular shops around town. AOK is the BEST kept secret in Lorain Co. Try them out next time you need any repairs...they do most anything! I am one HAPPY NEW customer. I will definitely go back!

Great find! They checked my car for what I thought was a leak in the exhaust pipe and discovered the noise problem was something entirely different. Made a quick adjustment and the problem was fixed! Only charged me a $10.00 lift fee for the whole thing! Unbelievable! Very rare to find a shop like this anymore! I feel like I owe them money! I will definitely be back for other service!

Even with how busy they are they still get you in and out of there pretty fast. They have the best prices in town probably why theyre so busy. Where might be the fact that go above and beyond just your muffler and tire needs. And with a paint body shop next door its basically a 1 stop fix all. I would no doubt recommend them to anybody.

Had my exhaust repaired today on my 2005 Dodge Ram truck . They ran me home and picked up when the work was done. Excellent work and customer service. I recommend them to all my family and friends.

We had a simple weld job on our muffler done today. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and efficient, the job was done in under 30 minutes and the price was beyond reasonable. Could not ask for a better experience, I would highly recommend AOK!

Came here about 2 months ago for my car. Was making a noise under the hood. Was told it was the tensioner belt and I needed exhaust done. The people are really nice but as they were fixing my tensioner belt I got a call saying my motor mount was crushed or something too so they added that to the fix in Total they fixed my exhaust, motor mount, & tensioner belt. When I got my car back when I turned my wheel to far to the right or left it sounds like something Is grinding and when I turn my hair on it just like hums really loud. When I first start to drive it the humming is so loud along with a slight shake. I still don’t know what’s wrong when I took it back up there they said they can’t find the problem, don’t know what it could be. And to bring it back when the noise it’s noticeable for them to find. Costed me $500 for half fixed car

AOK Auto and Muffler are a diamond in the rough amongst this industry.We were rear-ended and the pipe attached to the muffler sheared off right at the coupling. We took the car to a reputable, Big Chain Auto store they wanted $600 to replace the entire system. We took our car to A-1 Auto and Muffler they had it fixed within 10 minutes and only $50 bucks, one clean weld.If youre looking for a place to get your muffler tires worked on look no further.

Messed up my grandfathers car twice and take they’re time to “ fix it “ , has been there for a week now and saying they have nobody to work on it , so you hire people who can’t do they’re job and fix it ? Also not to mention these people never answer the phone it’s always going to voicemail but if you walk in they’re sitting around. Trash mechanic shop. Wouldn’t recommend to anybody

WORST PLACE EVER!!! Had custom stripes done, first took a week and they were terribly done and they added a another color outside of stripe that I never agreed to..this was done to cover up the mess they made stripes were all swirled and pinstripes around them look like a 2 yr.old applied it on. I then tried to make it right took car back they took 2 more weeks to fix .. this time owner John refused to have any contact with me in regards to this issue.picked up car nothing was fixed it was just worse.. my Interior was so muddy and filthy i was so upset ..Contacted BBB he refuses to talk to them, to try to make things right. IF YOUR SMART STAY AWAY FEOM THIS PLACE...

I originally posted a positive review last year. I take that back and give it 1 star. It seems like they use to be ok but not anymore. It seems like when you take something in for 1 thing they end up causing more problems and then YOU have to pay for their mistakes. When you try to call to check on the status of your vehicle they are very rude and never give you a straight answer.. if they even answer at all!! Very unhappy with them and will never take any vehicle here again. They are A not-so OK

I should have known better than to take my luxury vehicle here to get it straight piped, while he was cutting out the oem pipes he was not being careful and knocked my rear bumper with his saw on two occasions one of which cause a noticeable gouge in my plastic bumper, thankfully it’s on the underside so it’s not noticeable from standing outside the car. I will say the guys at the shop were all cool and knew what they were doing, problem is they all are lackadaisical and don’t take pride in their work, although the price was very competitive, I would have rather payed double to get some quality welds. Their owner is the one who did my welds who claims he has been welding for 20+ years. My dealership service writer told me those are the worst booger welds he has ever seen, they just globbed it all on the pipes instead of taking their time. I get quality work takes time, and was willing to pay more but they never even offered to take extra time because of the type of vehicle. Sure....if I had a beater booger weld it?! As far as bending the pipes and fitment goes they did a quality job I gotta say I’m OCD and the dual exhaust pipes were perfectly matching. My only gripe is the terrible weld quality and the hole in my exhaust now due to this.

I took my vehicle in to c how much it would cost to get converters put on when I bought it it had light on bottom of vehicle I dropped it off and lights were still on it when I picked up I drove it it broke down and had it towed to my house where I noticed the lights were cut off I called up there and they denied there were lights even on there they r theives and I dont recommend them to noone!!!!

The owner is rude and un professional! I took my vehicle to get quoted for body repair that Johnny quoted himself, told me to come back the following Monday because he had too many cars at the time and no space for me to leave mine. After him telling me to come back two Monday in a row we had a conversation about me being upset about that and he hangs up on me. I called back to ask him why he hung on me and he said he thought I was done. Needles to say despite my better judgement I still went up there the following Friday after two attempts to drop my car of made an appointment with his staff in the office which was a women for the coming Monday at 9. Showed up early for him to tell me he wasn’t taking anymore jobs after I had already made an appointment! I’m glad he didn’t fix my car in the end I spent my money else where with better business people. He doesn’t even deserve one star!

They gave me an actual price out the door with tax and it ended up being more than what they told me. I had brake lines done and they didnt even remove the old lines, they just cut the old ones and pushed them off to the side. The new lines are the most messy install I have ever seen. To top it all off, after getting my car back a week later when they said it would only take a day, they didnt even put back on all my lug nuts and I have one missing. I wouldnt recommend anyone to go here...0 star
