Place tastes great, great cook who took as much care as he could with my group and i. Really know how to make an atmosphere. Just go after getting high to munch on. Definitely a stoners place.

My friend, PJ and I came here after the bar, as it was the only place available, and we were NOT disappointed. The cook, Martino, kept up with every order, moving rapidly, from customer to customer, to online order, never missing a beat, and getting our orders altogether correct. The food was better than one would normally expect from a late night greasy spoon. In our opinions, the Diner Grill, is a worthy successor to our old after-hours haunt; Jeris Grill (permanently closed). If youre leaving your favorite watering hole, after last call, give Martino and the Diner Grill a shot, you wont regret it. Their breakfast is FIRST-RATE!

WOW, been meaning to try this place for years. Maybe the breakfast items are great, but chicken sandwich and fish sandwich were all breading (almost), no flavor, poor texture, unpleasant bread. The egg dishes others ordered look great however.

This. Is. The. Best Place to go after a night out or for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Food cheap, greasy (in a good way), and incredibly good. Only counter seating but that just adds to the vibe. Usually just one guy behind the counter that takes your order, cooks it infront if you and then serves it steaming hot within 10 minutes. One of my regular spots.

If you want that diner experience; this is it! Good hardy meals made to order. [Meaning this place a uppity Sunday brunch place that has mimosas and eggs bendicit; which is kinda refreshing to be honest! Come as you are type of thing].

This place is awesome. This is my favorite Chicago diner, hands down. Its in a converted tiny old boxcar. While there is not much room inside, this quaint diner was recently remodeled and is kept very clean. They cook your food in front of you and often play 90s Alternative music videos on their TV. The food tastes AMAZING, thanks to their capable cooks. The staff are friendly and work hard.I wish I could give 10 stars for their bathroom as well. Although the diner is very small, the single-bathroom is roomy. It is the cleanest bathroom you will probably ever see at a diner. They clean it continually throughout the day, and it is IMMACULATE! It smells clean and looks clean. Very impressive!I cant say enough good things about this place. I just wish the aisle behind the counter stools could be 6 wider. They do a good job with the space they do have, however.

Ive been coming to diner grill since I was a kid and lived on Hermitage. Still the same friendly environment and makes you feel welcome like youre part of the family.

Fast service, food was good. Sometimes you have to repeat your order more than once, but Id go back for some breakfast. No tables. Just a long counter top, which I liked. I was there late and just beat the rush. Around 2am people were waiting for a seat.

First time here. Quick and tasty food. Ordered the pancakes and churros which were delicious.Being able to watch while your food is made is a bonus.

I come here every Sunday after working a double at a vegetarian restaurant. I always get a cup of chili and a cheeseburger (sometimes a double with bacon, sometimes a single, and sometimes with a side of cheese fries) and its always exactly what I need after a long shift. This place is everything a 24hr diner should be.

Excellent spot for genuine diner food. My BLT last night on the way home from the bar (theyre open 24 hours) was on point and my Denver omelet with hash browns and bacon this morning was delicious. Im sipping perfectly servicable coffee at the counter as I write this and I can honestly say that I wish I was still hungry. So many other options! But Im stuffed and satisfied and contemplating the morning ahead wandering one of my favorite cities, so the french toast will have to wait for another visit. I will definitely be back.

Beyond delicious. AMAZING for takeout as well as in person. I ate once in restaurant a few months back (so perfect), but this time ordered through Grubhub after I saw a promo for the restaurant. I will now be without a doubt ordering from the restaurant over and over again. I moved to the area not too long ago and am always looking for good breakfast places, as well as extraordinary takeout places that serve breakfast (which is so easy to mess up in delivery). The biscuits and gravy were so amazing and the recipe is really great. Big portions, great prices, and amazing service. Couldn’t recommend more!

A wonderful 24/7 364 day Diner with a classic, well-made menu. Limited stool seating indoors, but a nice patio out back to get us all through the COVID seasons.

It is insane how clean this place is. The food is so very good. Make sure you order the shakes. They’re so kind and courteous and super efficient. I came in on a flight from Dallas and I just needed a great bite to eat and I’m so happy I came here!

A slinger whenever you need one.

LOVE the Slinger, and for a 24hr greasy spoon, you cant beat the crew or generally friendly patrons.

Simply put, best sausage I had. Its great that they let you take it next door to the bar for some beer. Nothing makes for a better experience, sausage and beer. I love the bun.

If I could give 6 or more stars I would. This place is a godsend. Whether youre looking for late night food after a night out at the bars, or just looking to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, The Diner Grill is as good as it gets for diner food. My go-to is a double or triple cheeseburger with fries. Simple, traditional, and amazing.

Finally made it hear after they reopened and found exactly what I was expecting: a great, basic menu of breakfast and sandwich options. Limited seating but we found 2 seats with my 6 year old daughter who really liked the counter service. Well go back for sure.

I have been eyeing this place for like a year and I finally came with my friend for dinner. I will say that honestly this is a hidden gem and I hope that they last long because the food was amazing! I could not find anything wrong here. Im honestly addicted to their bacon wrapped quail eggs, the grilled squared and their cocktails. They have this amazing cocktail that comes with a popsicle inside it and it lights up as well.

Ive got to stop letting my expectations get the best of me! I had passed the Diner Grill on numerous occasions. I saw the sign home of the slinger. I knew eventually I was going to come in and try it. To say that I was underwhelmed, is an understatement. The place was very clean though, the cook was serviceable. I dont think he quite understood my English all the way, because my eggs were not fried over hard break the yolk like I asked, but, everything else was just okay.

The Diner Grill is great place to get a quick bite to eat. The menu has a good selection of diner favorites (corned beef hash and eggs👍) and other goodies like chilaquiles with red or green sauce. The people who work there are efficient, kind and courteous. The place is well-maintained and the exhaust system does a good job of getting rid of cooking smells.

The best little diner is back with clean new equipment, but it still retains its classic feel. The grill cooks are masters at what they do. Great for late night, greasy indulgences our early morning, hearty eats.

Definitely a spot worth trying, the food is excellent and well prepared, the costs are affordable and it is regularly well organized here. Fantastic work.

Hands down the best chilaquiles out there! The sauce, the chicken, the chips, it’s all perfect! I know it seems random to get at a diner, but it’s the best! The chef here is an awesome cook, everything is made fresh right in front of you. The best part is...it’s not super greasy!

Super unassuming diner that serves up just what you think. They do greasy diner food right. The counter is charming in its own way with the open grill top there to show you the yummy goodness coming to your plate. Great deals on burgers.

Stopped here for a late night snack with the family after a game at Wrigley Field. There are approximately 12 counter style stools to sit on. The food was hot, delicious, and did not disappoint...grilled cheese sandwiches, chili, breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, etc...this diner is open 24 hours.

The greatest 24 hour diner on the North side. Awesome staff all throughout the day and night. If youre a night shift worker this place is heaven. If youre catching a bite before the big game this is your place. Great diner food for cheap.

Late spot that got a the spot. No frills just a counter, 2 monitors, flattop grill and men in black burning and serving. Omelettes are on point-burgers and other items are in rotation but at 1am Im rolling with A Denver Omelet, feel the Soul and do it healthy [even though late night evening shouldnt be a regular habit]. So now you have a late night backup plan if up on the Northside.

5:30 in the morning there Blair R&B music staff very unfriendly. give you frozen butter one jelly pack. Food was pretty decent. The owner should definitely replace the staff

The cook is super mean with no personality. He seems very unhappy. I used to order food from there but I will never again. I deliver for Grubhub and he is never pleasant when I pick up. Diner Grill will never get my business again. Maybe he is only use to a certain group of people?? He should be nice to everyone including delivery partners because you never know if they are customers to.
