Hey I went to Palace grill and I ate a handmade hamburger with cheese some onion rings the food was so delicious and we had chicken wings entrées the food is so delicious the service is great the The environment is peaceful I love all Blackhawks pictures palace Grill one of the smallest places in Chicago that you can go have a good meal it’s not my first time going on either and it’s not my last I’ll give them five stars

Oh where should I start? The first time I went here I thought it was some random breakfast place that serves regular American Style breakfast food, indeed I was EXTREMELY wrong.The food was always cooked to perfect, even somethings like the corn beef hash that other places make it extremely salty, Palace Grill makes it PERFECTLY with it being just the right amount of salt.The Patty Melt is absolutely wonderful, and the fries are so underrated! The fries are thick, hot and fresh. The Patty melt is wonderful, juicy, and PERFECT!You always should come here and try something new every time, ALWAYS!

George is the man! Always an amazing place for breakfast food. One of the best in the city and the service is always great.

Couldnt wait to check this place out. This is a certified piece of Chicago history.The servers were extremely welcoming and the decor with all of its Blackhawk memorabilia was solid.Unfortunately when we got our food it felt like the Bulls in the playoffs. High expectations low results. Out toast was cold eggs runny and hash browns unseasoned.I told the waitress and she mentioned this was something they would work on. So I dont want to bash this place. It was just my experience.All in all this is a place I would go to again and I would bring my appetite.

A local staple, Palace Grill Restaurant a Chicago place to wear your hockey jersey. Love the Farmers Skillet, little bit of all the meats making a greasy breakfast meals. The owner is normally greeting people. Servers are great, super busy and helpful. Apparently they cater I got the message about that. Maybe one day I’ll get a cater order from Palace Grill a place to wear your hockey jerseys. Can’t wait to come back in my next Chicago visit.

I was so taken aback by what I saw, and the atmosphere was so serene. I was pleasantly delighted when my item arrived on schedule. Guys, you didnt fall short of my expectations!

We were in Chicago in March for work and found Palace Grill for lunch. We had 16 lunches to order and not only did they accommodate us but they went above and beyond for us. In addition to their amazing service, the food was out of this world! Thank you so much for all you did for us!!

Most assuredly am icon of CASH only diners. Service was quick and warmly given. Food was good. Decor and ambiance are... geared towards hockey and firefighters. At least as much a museum as a restaurant.

Absolutely love this place for breakfast and lunch. Reminiscent of a bygone era the food is comfort food and it is delicious. The servings are large and many of the customers are large as well. I call it the joint with big guys eat, I am 62_ 240 lbs, and several of the men were larger. Have a hockey team with some nice jerseys hanging and the location is down the street from the United center. I recommend this as a place to stop if youre on the west side of Chicago

I moved to the west loop area 8 months ago. I was a fan of this place before I moved there. I have NEVER had an issue there before this last visit. I have become accustomed to a wait now and Im usually ok with that. Today my daughter,sister, nephew and I was blatantly over looked a few times for seating,four people came in and the host acted as tho he hadnt seen is and sat them down. At first I thought it was an error but until he Sat another 2 people down,so I spoke up he then told us,well you can go over there and pointed to the corner. We seated ourselves waited another 20-25 min or more just to get water and drinks. We finally ordered our food after almost an hour of just drinking water. I love this place and the owner is super friendly and a GREAT owner and he has impeccable customer service,hence is why I will continue to support it!!! One bad apple cant spoil the entire barrel!!!!

Found this place quite randomly near to where I was staying. Real American diner feel and the owner is clearly a massive Hawks fan which gives the place a real atmosphere. Loved the food! A real American breakfast diner treat! (Visited October 2018)

They prepare a perfect breakfast however you want your eggs however you want your meat cooked and the potatoes are off the chain and the Grits are also fabulous

So many things going for the Palace Grill: great food from huge menu, reasonable prices, great service, outdoor seating, a parking lot and a wonderful owner, George. We go before Blackhawks games and George, a huge fan, always stops by to chat us up. Stop in if youre in the area.

I have eaten here for many years. But today, I was surprised to have such an interesting experience with the owner, George. He takes my order but instead of handing it off to add it to the list of orders for the cook, he laid it on top of the register. After standing and observing, noticing no one has picked up my order after twenty minutes, I left. The disregard and arrogance of the owner spoke volume, duly noted George!

I love this truly special vintage Chicago Diner on Madison Street in the West loop. Ive tried the corned beef hash and the biscuits and gravy. Both are fantastic with great service too.

Great value, atmosphere and service. The owner regularly makes the rounds and pitches in and many staff have worked there for years. Everything Ive eaten, from the pepper and egg sandwich to the biscuits and gravy, has been consistently great. Easily one of the best classic breakfast, brunch and lunch places in the city.

My first time at the Palace; met George and discovered he had attended NIU as my friend and I had. Wonderfully delicious breakfast with plenty to eat. He is being very COVID safe so felt totally comfortable eating breakfast outdoors in beautiful warm fall weather. His skillets are exceptionally good.

Excellent, friendly service. Waitress offered me a newspaper since I was eating lunch by myself. Ive been to a million diners and no one has ever done that before.

First Time visiting the Grill, Very Friendly Staff, Everyone was happy, I ordered an Veggie Omelette, with Rice and a side of Pancakes, Omg..Enough amount of Veggies, Rice was seasoned with such good flavoring, the pancakes was cooked to perfection, Most definitely will be visiting again! 5 stars easily!!

I had walked in to this place expecting to get a patty melt like the one showcased on the show Chicagos Bestthat was featuring this very restaurant and sandwich. The patty melt I was served was half the size of the one on the show! It also only had three little strings of grilled onion instead of the large amount served on Chicagos Best. My daughter ordered the French toast that they charge 8 dollars for which consisted of two small pieces. How can you justify charging $8 for two slices of egg bread that arrived cold? My wife had the $16 steak skillet that was mostly potatoes instead of steak... This place serves small portions at very high prices. The food was tasty and the service was good but they are a cash only establishment and should mention this before a customer puts in an order. I had to run to chase to get cash because I was not about to pay a hefty service charge on a sketchy ATM that was located in the restaurant.

This in an edit to my original review, which didnt say neat enough:We are from Central Illinois, where all we hear are bad things about Chicago. But if everybody in Chicago is as nice a friendly and neighborly as George and his staff at the Palace, then all those bad things we hear can be put to rest. The staff at the palace was super nice, very efficient and knowledgeable, and hard-working. George himself shook my hand as I was leaving, and thanked me for stopping by. It truly made me feel like Ive been his neighbor for years.Now, a word about the food: I travel a lot, and Ive had a lot of gyros. Lemme tell ya, The Palace does it RIGHT! And there arent enough words to describe the tzatziki sauce. It was phenomenal!To George and everyone else at the Palace: Thank you for the great atmosphere and the great food. The Palace will be our go-to whenever we are in town for Blackhawks games!

Ordered the Steak n Eggs special. I asked for Medium Rare and it came out well done. The food was decent. It was busy, but breakfast food shouldnt take that long to make. We waited over 30 minutes after our order. I expected more for $16 for steak n eggs.

We were going for a family wedding a few days. Our kids, siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins were coming to the wedding, so I called and talked to the owner and he essentially set up half his dining area on a Saturday morning for us. The surprise was a hit, food and service were great and we left Chicago with a very warm spot in our family hearts for George and the Palace Grill.
