I stopped for a bite at Shilas this past weekend. I got a vegetable skillet and my friend got a burger. The food was delicious and the prices are inexpensive. The only downside is they dont have their own parking lot but I will definitely be coming here again.

I was visiting Chicago when I looked around for brunch places on a Sunday. Beneath the unassuming facade of this hidden place is wonderful food. From the moment I walked in the door, everyone was super friendly and nice. I was seated and served quickly. The menu is simple, but dont let that deter you as the food is amazing! I ordered an egg combo with bacon and hash browns, along with a side of the banana pancakes. It came out so quickly that it surprised me. Probably the best pancakes Ive ever had! They were so moist and perfectly cooked. Same with eggs. I dont think Ive ever had such a perfect over medium. Truly a hidden gem that everyone should go out and try (with a super reasonable price to boot). Go ahead, treat yourself!

This place was a good breakfast/brunch place and food was really tasty. Minus point could be given from the decoration, that was a bit dark. A little bit more light and surfaces that lighten the place up would be an amazing addition! Friendly service.

Shilas Restaurant is the best kept secret of the northwest side. Everything Manny touches is phenomenally delicious. In fact, I can’t order a skillet anywhere else in the world because they just can’t compare. The diner coffee keeps my nostalgia in check and the vegetarian skillet with a side of sausage is my go to: spinach, mushrooms, feta, and avocado. It’s perfect every single time.

The food was delicious and the service was fast, friendly, and professional. The restaurant was clean, and the music was at the perfect volume.Weve lived in the area for 2.5 years, and I wish Id found this breakfast spot earlier. We will definitively come back soon.

Chilaquiles w/ steak

AMAZING. The food is SO good, the staff is intensely friendly. This is a little known neighborhood secret so you never have to wait for a table. The inside is definitely dated decor wise, but that does not stop them from serving up some awesome food with reasonable prices. Its been so long since my partner and I only spent $20 on breakfast and actually had good food. More people need to know about this.

Friendly and delicious. Great iced tea. Splay the cheddar cheese on the ultimate burger. Excellent fresh fruit (worth doing a side of it). Terrific service. Many vegetarian options. A real gem.

Went in around 1:45 today, Thursday, and it was very clean. What made the biggest impression on me was the server. He was very kind and attentive and even ran outside after I left my S Pen inside to make sure I didnt forget it. Very nice establishment. Food was good. Kind of dinner style, breakfast. I had veggies omelette with grits and pancakes. It was all delish!

I appreciated my waitresss efforts to make sure our food was satisfactory. We were greeted by Annie as if we were old friends and it was our first time eating there. When we left everyone said goodbye - I will definitely be back!

A simple neighborhood brunch place that is traditional in ambience. Food was good and prices are reasonable. Pancakes were fluffy and good. Friendly service. Parking can be in front of the restaurant or in side streets.

Great neighborhood place to get a bite to eat! I usually get the sierra skillet and its delicious every time. The service is excellent and they usually bring delicious salsa alongside whatever egg-based dish I order.

The food is wonderful,i wished i knew about this place before,I enjoy the French toast and any omelet you get is good, it is family owned and operated shop that is why the quality is outstanding.

Tucked away on Cicero south of Irving. Lovely people, amazingly reasonable prices, fresh food, cloth tablecloths w/paper toppers (who does that in a diner)? they have a bar too if you like cocktails with your breakfast or lunch. Go now and support this great local restaurant!

My name is Joce I never review anything but i had to give this place. 0 STARS. we came to eat here for my birthday September 3 we were sat at a big table because we were expecting more people to come. In the end those people didnt show up. So here come the bad part someone from the back, the kitchen im guessing come to our table and shes asked are you guys waiting for more people? And we answered her said no theyre not coming any more. So then in a nasty tone she says then why are u sitting at this table! Because it was a big table then she grabs a chair from our table and she slams it down at another table. Might i add we had been waiting for 15 minutes and no one had came and offered us a coffee or a drink at least but any way so yeah we asked her if she wanted us to move she said again with the same tone no! Im sorry but if thats not a bad welcome i dont know what is that was out first and last time going there so after we got that kind of treatment we left without letting any one know, we just got up and left before anyone could wait on us instead of waiting on us she came to yell at us that we had taken the big table. I was hoping to find a good breakfast place by my neighborhood but this isnt it i WONT be coming back here.

Got a southwestern chicken salad. And OMG! By far one of the worst salads I have had in my life! First of all the debt have the proper dressing for the southwest salad, they put corn and beans which is OVIOUSLY CANNED! I threw out the entire salad! Had a iron canned taste because of the beans and corn and itngot watery and nasty. Also got their chicken noodle soup its that thing was SOOOO canned! Also the restaurant has a sewer smell like a basement after it floods. The lady upfront with a bald head was SUPER NICE however. They need to step up their ingredients and they might be worth another shot.

Wasted all the time I had for breakfast and getting a little work done by circling a six-corner block to eat at this place that states its open at 8am. It was 8:30. Paid for parking, locked up, walked to the door with my laptop, CLOSED. Hungry and aggravated with no breakfast and no work done thanks to Shilas. On my way to an appointment under par.

Staff is very ettentive and super friendly, food is very good and at a very reasonable price. If you get sausage, the round patty is the way to go... Delish!

I usually would go to another restaurant, however they were packed for Mothers Day. Wanted to treat my mother to a mothers day breakfast and decided that I should take her to Shilas Restaurant, which is across the street from my own business.Also, had gone there with an old friend who lives in the Six Corners neighborhood a few months earlier, and it seemed nice.However, when I took my mother there for mothers day, the restaurant was very dark, making it somewhat hard to comfortably look at the menu. In addition to that, the waitress got my mothers order completely wrong and attempted to blame the cook for the error. (Was able to overhear the small argument that he cooked what was written since the booth was near the kitchen/pick-up area).At the end, the waitress attempted to resolve the issue by taking off 0.80 cents from the final bill... All of this made me feel uneasy.----I just want to add that I am writing this review due to the fact that I had accidentally posted a 3 star review with no description in the past from my business account.I find it extremely strange that now I am receiving 1 star reviews from individuals that I have not conducted business with, both whom have reviewed Shilas Restaurant and given them 5 stars.However, this does not affect my previous review (which I have removed from the other account so it does not affect Shilas Review score) so that I can appropriately review the restaurant through this account.
