Always stocked, sometimes friendly. Beer cooler can use some work…not the best selection. Need more local beers (they have some)

If your policy is to not sell alcohol to anyone without an ID please change your signs to reflect that instead of saying for people who look under 30. My wallet was stolen so I stopped by here rather than stopping somewhere else, yet because I mentioned I didn’t have my license they refused to sell to me although I’m 36 years old and absolutely look my age. Waste of my time to come here.

HT has incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Fridays are apparently 1/2 priced sub days so you enjoy a full sub for 50%. My wife and I tried the Philly Cheese Steaks today and were not disappointed. I had onions and jalapenos added and it was a winner. Best part of this location is the staff!! Everyone wants to help and they show their genuineness. Love this store!!

Bar none the absolute best grocery store experience I think Ive ever had in my life. Even include a cheese bar with varietal cheeses from around the world. Meat department is phenomenal as they offer of course prepackaged ready to go meat, fresh cut meat thats packaged and ready to go, and they have a meat cooler to be served out of by one of their attendants. Definitely hope this extends down towards home.

This supermarket is awesome. I highly recommend visiting and getting your water and other essential items. Super fresh market food area and everything youll need for your visit to the Charleston area. Highly recommended!

Always have the best meats in town!

Not crouded. Clean ,very friendly staff. Easy to find new stuff. Felt safe.they cleaned all carts and baskets right in front of you. Quality products. Again super friendly staff

Better option for lunch than most dedicated restaurants where youd pay double the $$; and they seem to respect the Peoples freedom of choice as far as face diaper mandate enforcement.

Thi Harris Teeter is larger and has more in stock items. It appears to be cleaner than the one that is right after Ellis Bridge.

I know this review won’t even come close to compensate for the uptick in worker workload due to COVID-19. The HT Express Checkout and curbside pickup employees do a fantastic job! Professional, courteous, and contact free. It really helps out during this time and my family truly appreciates it!

I’m giving 3 stars because I’m so put off by the rudeness of Cheri behind the deli. Every time I come in she gives me a mean look when I ask for her help like I’ve made some giant request and she actually has to do her job. I would literally avoid her if you need help with anything. I think if she tried to smile it would break her face. Everyone else that works here is super friendly sly and helpful and the managers make it a point to say hello to you. The people in the deli and meat department will also go out of their way to help you get what you need so overall it’s a great store.

The most wonderful and amazing people work here. I lost my wallet but didn’t know until AFTER the lady rang me up. At the time my newborn son was in NICU. Bottom line I started to cry and apologize but she took money out of her pocket and paid for nearly $50 in groceries for me. That was just about 3 years ago but I think of it nearly every week. My son is doing well and times have improved but I will never forget about the kindness that was shown to me here and in truth all of the people working there were always very good to me and my family. They are an amazing example of how to care for community....

The Harris Teeter on Maybank Highway on James Island is a great place to buy groceries and food. I really like the location as it is easy to get to from Folly Road or Maybank and there always seems to be available parking close to the store. The store is very well run and clean and offers fresh choices and quality food for a really good value. I like the layout of the store as everything is easy to find and I am able to do my shopping quickly and efficiently. I really like the deli section here as they have a good hot bar, fried chicken, and fresh baked pizza. The staff here is cool and laid back and does their best to enhance your shopping experience. I really enjoy doing my grocery shopping here.

Good location. What I like best about Harris teeter is their beer selection. They have one of my favorite beers there and its one of the only places I can reliably find it. Overall its a great grocery store and it is clean. A bit on the pricey side unless you find a special.

Harris Teeter is a great shopping experience especially if youre a couponer. Theyre double coupons and super double and or sometimes triple coupon days are fabulous. Their seafood and meats are the best and their produce is always the freshest. Depending on the store some of them have some staffing issues

Had just what we needed.

It’s a great place to shop!

So disappointed in this location. I keep trying, but it just doesn’t get better. I was in there last night 7/24. Still can’t return the cat food that was purchased on error. Ok so that’s policy. But when I shop in a store and a Mgr walks by me and I say hello and he doesn’t respond- rude. Then I wanted to know where the pasta was that was on my email. An associate walks down aisle to Mgr and he basically says...never had it, don’t know why the put it on eVic. No offer of substitution..nothing. Then I go to self checkout, I hear a loud crash, and a manager brought a cart in and flung it in front of store and it crashed into one of the check outs. So unprofessional. I have never seen HT managers act so badly. And to not care about their customers. Back to Publix I go.

The only reason I’m giving this place one star is because of the check out lines. Everything else is fine. I can’t understand why they wouldn’t install regular conveyor belt style check out lanes, instead there’s some BS turntable. Every time I go in there no one is helping the cashiers bag, so I usually help speed things up. Maybe Harris Teeter should take some pointers from other major markets or from basically any other market in the world with conveyer belts.

Great store, wonderful selections of products with fair prices. However, the checkout is very slow. Often they only have 3-4 employees checking people out and the wait times are lengthy. You do have a self checkout option if desired.

There are many different types of businesses located in an around the area. This is a medium sized shopping center.Great location close to the highway. However it is not close to the interstate access.

One thing Ive noticed about this and other Harris Teeter stores is that the staff are either out-goingly friendly or just cannot be bothered to give a simple Hello to their customers.

Our favorite grocery store. Appears to be very clean always has good produce and meat selections. Now it has a hot bar and salads I believe. once in awhile we want something they dont seem to be able to get for us but thats the only disappointment.

Harris Teeters are great stores offering a wide variety of high quality groceries, fresh produce (including local), meats.. you name it. Of course, prices reflect it but they do have decent sales too.

Love Harris Teeter my number one store its a little expensive but the people and the service the cleanliness and the help makes up for the little bit extra that I pay for the food and in the thing that I get there it truly does he guys do an amazing job thank you so much

I have bought fish and beef from this store before. All 3 times I got home to open the packages and the stench almost knocked me down. I went today for the first time in 7 months. I accidentally dropped a bottle, my fault, but it took a very long tome for it to be attended to. The store across from Lowes is by far the better Harris Teeter.

Love this store! Has everything you need & then some.REVISED 4/22/19 - Purchased 2 expensive filet steaks packaged together last Friday, cooked one, took 1 bite & had to spit it out. BAD MEAT! Easter holidays, so waited until lunchtime Monday to return the uncooked steak still in package, along with the cooked one in a baggie (expire date 4/24). Presented items with receipt. The asst. mgr. proceeded to challenge me about the return, acted extremely annoyed, then left the counter for 5 minutes to consult with someone else. He finally refunded my money, but did not offer the double your money back policy, even though my dinner was ruined. Asked to speak to a manager and got a defensive attitude from him as well. He said people had been going through their dumpsters & trying to return things. I guess my packaging & receipt wasnt good enough for them.

This store is great along with the great Harris Tetter service there is a Hot bar here that is always fresh. It is changed out 3 times a day so the food is fresh. There is a Sushi chef and though Sushi is not my thing there are many people who do like it. Of course they also make sanwiches and have a full service bakery. The store is always clean and the people who work here are always friendly, courteous and helpful.

Every Harris teeter that Ive been in is clean, and well-stocked, and they have wonderful produce & deli areas

Recently moved to area around this HT. I have been a HT customer for 20 years+ but at other HTs on James Island... this one is nice looking but thats the only thing nice about it. At the other stores the people working there were pleasant and smiling... This one is like they work at the morgue. Management walks around and doesnt say a word or acknowledge you have come into their store. Always have empty shelves for at least something I needed.Publix will be getting my business from now on.
