I went to Alabama Family Eye Care for a complete eye exam….it was a great experience from the time I walked in the door! I was so impressed with the friendly staff & Dr Melissa Curl… She took the time to explain everything about my failing vision and why things happen….I did not realize the importance of seeing an eye dr on a regular basis….If you want a total top notch experience of your medical vision care, you need to go to Alabama Family Eye Care!THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME SEE CLEARLY

Our family has been using Alabama Family Eye Care for several years now and we could not be more pleased. Dr. Curl is amazing! She takes the necessary time to accurately diagnose and treat any and all of your vision care needs. My 9 year old just had his first “official” eye exam and even he commented on how nice Dr. Curl and her staff treated him. I would highly recommend this practice if you are looking for a doctor who will treat you like a person and not just a number.

Dr. Curl and the staff at Alabama Family Eye Care have seen to the eye health of my entire family for years, in my case at least 15 years. They are always caring, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. I have recommended them to others and will continue doing so. They are just great.

I ended up in Dr Curls chair with a piece of dirt in my eye. Im so happy I did because shes a wonderful doctor who removed it quickly and painlessly. Her office staff is professional and efficient and the office clean and attractive. Everyone observed correct hygene which I appreciate.

The whole experience was very smooth. Very little wait time and very professional staff.

I came here because of all the wonders reviews, but just as a few commenters have said, I was not impressed. They were unorganized in calling my name to be led to the back, they let someone go ahead of me who came after me and had an appointment later than mine.The gentleman who did the preliminary questions of my eye care was apologetic, I appreciated this. I had the eye doctor with long brown hair...not sure if this was Dr. Curl, I’m not sure that I care anyway... I found her to be passive aggressive, she attempted to sound sincere when I asked questions but she was rushing me. Looking back I think they were a little behind schedule... but I’m not sure that’s an excuse.The collection of glassware was nothing to write home about, it wasn’t in style, I was under impressed.It took a full 2 weeks for the glasses I ordered to come in, I’m not sure if this is really their fault, but worth mentioning....Flashforward to about 3-4 months later these “new” glasses already broke. It was covered in my insurance for a replacement but they still made me pay a $20 dollar processing fee. 🤭Needless to say, I won’t be returning ...But I do want to be fair...so why did I give 2 stars.. here’s why:1. The eye doctor ( lady with brown hair) was thorough.. still abrasive2. The girl who measured the glasses to my face after they came in was very polite, she seemed genuine in wanting to help me find a pair I liked, she was honest3. They give free bottles of water and fruit snacks and mints while waiting

I would give it 10 stars if I could! Amazing staff, beautiful and convenient location in Hoover. They treat you like family and that is very rare at a doctors office. They walk you through everything and make you feel super comfortable the entire time. The techs are polite, informative and super knowledgeable. The prices are great too!For those who are tired of being treated like you are just another patient, go here. I promise you, it will be the best decision you have ever made for your family.

Ive been a patient at Alabama Family Eye Care for the last couple of years. My experience with the staff has always been exceptional and they make me feel like Im part of their family.Dr. Curl and Dr. Craigs exams are thorough, as they takes her time to make sure I have the best possible prescription for my contacts glasses. Dr. Curl recommended a specific type of lenses for my vision and they are awesome!The optical section has a great selection of fashion forward glasses and the optician did a great job in helping me find the right pair of frames for my personal style.I will be a patient for many years to come!

Look - 5 stars says absolute professionalism!!!! I don’t know of any doctor that takes the time with her patients as much as Dr Kurl does.The ability of the techs on the optical side are just the same. The attention is wonderful and complete. The part I love is if there is any problem (and I mean any problem) with the glasses OR contacts they always do it for free if something isn’t right.

If you are looking for a great optometrist, your search is over. Dr. Curl is fantastic in every way. Beautiful office with the newest technology, competent, caring staff, and excellent time management are just a few of the things that that will impress you about this office. I am very happy with Dr. Curl & highly recommend her. I have a few issues she has been checking for me & I guarantee you she is very thorough. She does an excellent job of explaining test results, comparing last years results to this years & she makes sure to wait for you when she asks, do you have any questions. I am fond of her technicians. They have always been very kind to me. I have never felt rushed. Picking out glasses has been fun. I just purchased another pair & I enjoyed being allowed to take my time & try on as many as I wanted. I never felt rushed. I feel she truly cares about my well being & that is what we all want. Prior to moving out of state, my wife and I used Alabama Family Eye Care for a number of years. Both of us were very pleased with the care that we received. When I located a new optometrist, she confirmed all of the same potential vision issues that Dr. Curl had been tracking for me.

Dr. Curl recommended cataract surgery and also recommended a fantastic surgeon. She took care of my eyes post surgery . She is very very thorough and consistent. I trust her so much that I sent my son to see her. She has taken excellent care of his m as well.

I’ve been going here since I was in high school, I love the atmosphere and friendly nature of the staff. I never wait too long and if I have an emergency they always are able to fit me in. Great frame selection as well!!

I arrived on time and was greeted by the friendly front desk staff. The wait was less than 5 minutes. I was immediately evaluated by a student doctor who was quite thorough. However, some of my numbers seemed to be incorrect. I waited less than 2 or 3 minutes for Dr Craig. She agreed the numbers werent matching up to my previous visits. She performed her evaluation and we were thrilled to discover my pressure in both eyes had decreased significantly! Great news! She recommended I return in a few months for my regular pressure check. Checkout was quick and the staff was extremely polite and helpful. I couldnt be more pleased with my experiences with Alabama Family Eye Care.

Weve had great care by their Ophthalmologists. They are good with kids, thorough, and do a good job of talking through any issues or questions we have. We recently had a billing issue, but their staff helped resolve the issue in a timely manner.
