We recently moved to Astoria, OR, from San Antonio, TX, & needed a more dependable vehicle than our 10 year old Hyundai Accent. My wife researched all sorts of cars online, & landed on a 2019 Nissan Versa with very low mileage, at an incredible price, from Hertz! We went in with our banks pre-approved loan confirmation, & drove out 2 hours later in a fantastic new/used car! Great car buying experience. Michael Oades was courteous and low pressure, offering good input without pressure or sales pitches. I was holding my breath for the paperwork signing, expecting the hard sell on extended warranties, etc. But there was none. The options were explained, but Business Manager Richard Kim offered solid advice considering the warranty still remaining on the car I purchased. Absolutely the most relaxed car buying experience Ive ever had.

Ken was very helpful with helping me solidify my decision on my vehicle purchase. Not a pushy typical used car lot atmosphere. The whole experience was smooth and painless. I got a car I love for an incredible price. If youre looking for what is essentially an almost brand new vehicle and dont mind higher mileage for a great price. Used rental is the way to go and Hertz has quite the selection.

A great experience all around. Maureen was an absolute pro in helping us find the car we were looking for (I paid roughly $800-$1000 LOWER then Kelly Blue Book AND the car is still under the manufactures warranty!). I went in pre-approved through my credit union but Shawn was able to find me a better loan a full 2 points lower! If youre in the market for a really good used car, SUV or Truck give Maureen Jones a call. You really cant go wrong with a vehicle from these people.

Im dispelling the myth that buying a car is tedious and difficult. I had a wonderful experience with my purchase. The salesman, Ken, was efficient and funny. The process was pleasant. The whole atmosphere at the Beaverton location was great. No high pressure and I got an almost new car at a great, no haggle, price. Very pleased and would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic experience here. Garth was our sales person and he was great at answering all our questions and even went out of his way to check a couple things out before we bought our car. He was super patient and none of the people there were pushy or rude. I really took my time going over the car I bought with a fine tooth comb and Garth pointed out a couple things I missed and while my husband and I did much discussing, the entire time Garth waited patient and didnt use any of the pushy car sales lot tactics to hurry us into the purchase. When my bank failed to call back to process our paperwork we went with their loan option and got it all squared away quickly. Made an appointment with Dennis to look at a particular car I saw on the website, checked in for some paperwork before taking it for a 30 minute test drive, decided to buy it, did some more paperwork and was out with the new car in about 3 hours. Speedy, hassle-free and no pressure experience; I would buy from this location again.

This was my first time buying a car from a rental agency, although my favorite previous car was a former lease vehicle. I decided to do this because I hate haggling, the prices were good enough that I could afford a lower-mileage vehicle, and I knew the car would have been regularly maintained. Note that I did not take the car to a mechanic as I have in the past, but I did look at the inspection report carefully and they were transparent about a light that needs to be replaced and previous work that was done to the car.PROS: The process was relatively fast (took about 2 or 2.5 hours for me, and I like to read all the paperwork). This included me calling my insurance company to add the new car. Ken was a very pleasant salesperson and knew the features of the car well - the directed test drive was nice since I could focus on how the car drive rather than deciding where to go. The sales pressure level was a lot lower than with a typical used car dealer, and I appreciated that Jason encouraged me to keep my gap insurance with Progressive rather than getting the add-on. So far, I really like the car, but I will come back and update on that when Ive had it for longer than a day. The prices are low and you know the vehicles have been maintained. EDIT 2/4: Yep, still love the car.CONS: They still try to sell you the extended warranty and maintenance plan, although a bit less aggressively than the usual places do. Statistically, these are a bad deal, and youre much better off putting that money into a repair fund. However, I doubt anyone other than an individual selling used cars is not going to try to sell you extended warranties at this point, and I did appreciate that they didnt push my no. So do your research in advance. And of course, these are former rental vehicles that have been driven by lots of different drivers.I recommend making an appointment - they might be able to see you as a walk-in, but they might not (I had to make an appointment and come back), so its better to call first.Overall, most painless car-buying experience Ive had, cheers.

In the middle of COVID-19, I made the crazy decision to buy a car! I was no longer comfortable commuting to work on public transportation and decided now was the time. Ken Aiken at Hertz made it an easy and smooth process for me. As a first-time car buyer, I was very nervous but Ken and Jason did an excellent job in creating a comfortable and warm atmosphere while also following the CDC guidelines. Would definitely buy from them again.

Trying to rent a car with Hertz was a nightmare... Booked in advance. Called to confirm. Showed up to pick up vehicle and no one was there. While calling customer service three more customers showed up having already reserved. Customer service numbers confirmed they were supposed to be open, but told us there was nothing they could do and just told us we should wait for someone to show up. Two hours later theyd lost all of us as customers. Ended up renting from a competitor. Garbage company!

Hertz car sales offers former rentals for sale. They are a bit cheaper than other cars on the market, also expect a lot of dings and scratches.They price on the paperwork was $1700 more than advertised. Make sure you are not taken advantage of.I am still getting marketing e-mail from them about how great the experience was. However a question I asked in e-mail was ignored.

I had the pleasure of buying my 2018 Nissan Rogue from Maureen Jones. I had come directly from another dealership close to Hertz to test drive a vehicle I saw online. I am so glad that I did. I didnt have an appointment, and the first person that passed me was Maureen. I showed her the car by handing me the phone. She went to go get the keys, and we were test driving the car within 10 minutes of me walking in off the street. She was pleasant to talk to, and answered my questions thoroughly, and I decided to buy the car while pulling back in to the parking lot.The appraisal process for my trade in was painless and quick, and the paperwork was efficient to get through. They even take care of all DMV paperwork, including registration, plates, title, etc. That saves even more time. I ended up with a car that was in immaculate condition, well maintained (records provided), with 21,000 fewer miles and a year newer than the vehicle I had tested at the previous dealership, for $950 LESS. I even purchased the maintenance plan, which covers oil changes for many years at less than what they would be on their own. I would highly recommend buying a car from Hertz, and avoid all the back and forth pricing nonsense you get at other dealerships. Youll get an awesome car for less money than Kelly Blue Book estimates.

I could not have bought a better used car for the price. The inspection and warranty gave me confidence, unlike ao many used car dealers. The rep who worked with me, Dennis Druck, was accommodating to my needs in finding the right car for me based on my needs. I didnt feel pressured to buy. Although rental cars are generally considered to be driven hard, Hertz inspects its vehicles from the rental fleet regularly to ensure it is in ship shape for the buyer. I would not count on this from other rental sales. The minimal wear allows the vehicles to have been depreciated to a selling point that is affordable. The website inventory is easy to search. If they dont have what you want, you know before calling for an appointment. There is usually a variety of mileage, colors, and wear of each make and model such that there is a good fit. Note: they can do a much better job by appointment.

Probably the only car sales experience I havent hated. Purchased a 2018 Chevy SUV via their online sale. Drove from the Seattle area to Beaverton on their word that they would hold a vehicle for us, and they did. Garth was professional, helpful, and informative. With Washingtons DOL backed up due to COVID, this office has gone above and beyond to get us extra license tags and find out where our license plates were at in the process.

Our salesperson Dennis was very approachable, knowledgeable and directed us straight to the cars that fit our budget and needs. We arrived around 3:30 and left at 6pm with our new to us car. My daughter was thrilled and I was glad it was so straightforward. I recommend these guys if you are looking for an affordable, well-maintained car at a fair price and a no-hassle sales process.

Previously, I highly rated this Hertz location; however, weve had nothing but issues trying to obtain our plate. Were going on our 4th, yes 4th temporary tag from them, because they never submitted the licensing request to the WA DOL! It shouldnt take over 2 months to get a license plate, but I guess it does when no paperwork is submitted. There is no follow through, unless you pester them. Granted I do not live close to the location, and last time when I went in person to get the temporary tag our sales person didnt even remember us. What a joke!Additionally, this is the second time in the past two years weve bought a car from the Hertz, Portland area dealerships, and trust me Im not going to buy another car from this location!

On 7/10/2020 I walked into the Hertz office in Beaverton, OR. to look for a used car. Ken Aiken introduced himself to me and we immdiately started looking at KIA cars. I found the the one I wanted and we entered the office to to begin the paperwork and usual pressure for Financing andService Contracts. A quick no thanks and Ken started the contract without a hassel. Very Professenal.

Spent 2 days with Garth, the only thing I would have appreciated is a later closing time. For people who work full time, we might have s limited time period. We knew what we wanted, he immediately brought it forward and we took it out for a test drive. Very personable and family oriented. Nice guy! No haggle! Went in to look at and test drive a 2014 vehicle for $9,980.00. The lady in the office was great. We test drove 3 vehicles while we were there. When it came down to purchasing one of the three vehicles, I asked to see the service records for the one vehicle I wanted to purchase.A guy in the finance office came out of his office and stated Service Records are private and personal information and by law they can not show them to me.Since when are Service Records on a vehicle a matter of Personal and private information? On a vehicle? Really? I then asked him if he could go down on the price, he stated NO, we do not set the price, the price is set by our corporate office. He then asked if I would be financing or paying cash, I told him this would be a cash sale, he stated we make more money on financing cash sale dont interest us. So all you people know, this Hertz dealership is interested in Finance sales ONLY because as the guy stated cash sale dont interest them and they make MORE MONEY on financing.Thats my story. I wont buy from them!!!Jim

I recently purchased a 2017 Toyota Corolla from Jeremy Shively. Let me start out by saying that I hate the car buying process and I live over an hour away (two hours with Friday traffic). I had started over six months ago and almost purchased somewhere else. I am certainly glad that I waited and found the right vehicle and place to purchase. The vehicle has been a better and better fit as I drive it more. I took time off of work to go out and get this finished. I like that, even though they are rentals, you know the cars have received all of their necessary maintenance on time. And I can’t recommend working with Jeremy enough. These guys have a job to do and there is a process for that... but it was easy to get through and they respected my time, budget and personal boundaries. If you are going to purchase a used car anytime soon, go see these guys. It is worth the trip.

This was the nicest car buying experience!! I found the car I was interested in online. Garth called me within less than 10 minutes. He set up an appointment and I came down with a friend within a couple of hours. The business was very small and very personable. Theres surprisingly few employees, so there was no passing me off to numerous people, etc. I test drove the car, processed the financing and drove out in about an hour. THANK YOU GARTH!! You were AMAZING and very nice, and not pushy. Being a female and buying a car alone can be very intimidating. My experience was very pleasant. Literally the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had. I researched online for a car that they were selling, emailed them and they confirmed the car was available. I drove an hour away took time off of work and made an appointment which they stressed was important to honor. When I showed up the person I had been speaking with online was on vacation and the man who showed me around said that Car wasn’t available. Then they lied to my face and told me there was nothing else available in my price range, Even though there were several cars in my price range available online advertised. I don’t know what’s up with this place but they didn’t want the business of a Hispanic woman. Also I think it’s really shady that their Employees are the ones giving themselves the four and five star ratings on here.

Ask for Dennis. Straight forward honest, has a knowledge of cars, no run around games, and truly feels like he wants to make the right fit for you! The Financial team was also a great help! I don’t have the best credit but it was quick and easy to work with and ended up with a better interest rate then I was given when looking at credit unions. I would highly recommend stopping in. Prices are better the all other dealers around!

The buying experience was very professional and enjoyable. I was able to test drive the car multiple times. Throughout the process, the car had an engine error that was promptly fixed to allow for an additional test drive.The buying process was very simple and straightforward. I worked with Garth to finalized the purchasing process. Afterwards purchasing the car, while I was driving the car away I noticed that one of the headlights went out. Garth was able to get in contact with his manager and offer a free headlight change after the car was already purchased.Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a great deal!

I bought my car here back in June and what a breath of fresh air. It was literally the smoothest and fastest purchase of a vehicle Ive ever experienced. I got my 2018 Infinity Q50 for $3200 less that the next closest dealership within 200 miiles. Maureen was fantastic, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I highly recommend Hertz as a fantastic alternative to the normal push and pull (at a standard dealership) when looking for a pre-owned vehicle. They make it very easy.

I researched quite a bit before buying my car from Hertz.I went to many different dealers but then I found a great deal with Hertz and at first I felt something is off...But then I understood that the company is primarily a rental company and that they mostly want to get rid of their inventory of cars because you cant rent out old cars... the Im guessing their plan is to sell them cheap to get rid of them!Other than the price, I liked the customer service which make it clear of everything... something car dealer are not usually know for!Also, they offered to paint small scratches on the car and provide an electronic key which wasnt provided at first, even if I hadnt pressured them.The CONS:-The Rent2Buy program requires you to rent the car for a few days and then buy it... I couldnt do that at first because I dont have a credit card and they wont accept a debit card. They allowed me to rent it, but it was a hassle and a lot of phone calls and emails.-You cant know for sure when youre going to get the car.-The interest rate was a bit high for me, but maybe thats because I still dont have a credit score.To conclude, put of all the deals I found, this was the best one and I would definitely reccomend the buying experience to people who want to buy a car with a good price and good service, and can afford to wait a week or so to get the car.

Originally I would have give Hertz a 5 star rating when I purchased my car and warranty from them. However after seeing their customer service and process when you try to cancel that warranty a 0 star rating is fit. When you purchase the Fidelity warranty from them they tell you if you sell it or trade it in when the car loan is paid of you get a check for the difference left on the warranty... That is the furthest thing from the truth! I called Fidelity first and they told me to talk to Hertz but they warned me that Hertz may tell me Fidelity was suppose to pay but that this was not the case. When I spoke to Hertz that day they told me I had to go back to the location I bought the car. Since buying this car I had moved 30-45 minutes away. This is not super far but when we all work and live busy lives the last thing I want to do after work during the busiest travel time is drive what is now a 45-60 minute drive. I asked them if they could get email it or fax and I would send it back I was told for security reason that wouldnt work. I drove down that same day and spent a whole 3 minutes in the office. All I did was a sign a piece of paper which easily could have been emailed or faxed. I was told this process takes 6-8 weeks. This is a rather long time to process this but whatever. The funny thing was the comment he made at the end. Come see me in 8 weeks if you have a issue still. It was like he knew there would be a issue. I called 4 weeks in just to make sure everything was on track because I didnt want there to be a issue. I was rudely greeted and talked to on the phone. I was told they had no way to check this and that HQ does this process. I asked her how that was possible. That if I hit 8 weeks they had a way to check but not at 4 weeks? She did not have a answer and told me to wait until 8 weeks. After 7 weeks I heard nothing from them what so ever so I called again. Funny enough Dennis the sales person who sold me the car answered and again was rude. They said it was a manager issue and to call back because they were busy. I opted to leave my number because I wanted them to call me as soon as they were not busy. I heard nothing. Yesterday I called which was 2 days prior to the 8 weeks and still I had heard nothing. I waited on hold for a manager for 20 minutes and then was hung up on. When I called back Dennis answered and said that the reason I was hung up on was because the managers were busy. Serious could no one pick up and tell me that? He once again said he would take my number and they would call me back... GUESS WHAT... they never did. I called again today because its a day shy of 8 weeks. I waited on hold this time for a manager and while the lady who answered keep checking in on me it was clear the managers were dodging me. They sent her back on the phone after waiting for 15 minutes to tell me the check would be cut in 48 hours. That is over the 6-8 week window AND then it still has to be mailed. No apologize or anything.It is funny to me how great Hertz is upfront but when it comes to providing money back to a service I am no longer using they can not uphold the same great customer service. Never will I shop at Hertz again for this simply reason. A place that strives for good service provides it through the whole process not just the part where they make money.
