Service was fast and prices were decent. Expected to be wowed by the cakes but just wasnt. They were good but just regular and I ordered several to get the full perspective. Lemon cake was the best, followed by red velvet and chocolate. I didnt care for the tiramisu at all and hated the Italian cake even more. My friend and I each took one bite only and then threw it away. As for the red velvet and chocolate, had the cakes been more moist, they could have worked. Pecan bar was pretty good! Overall, Id give them another shot. Id just order something different next time.
Did I go here? Why would I? But its assuming I did. Oh God the acid hasnt worn off...wait I didnt take acid that day. Or did I? Dining in was....oh Jesus did I say that? Could they hear me?. Did he know how much I admired the shape of his skull.....
Shabby and dirty. Stalls filled with meats that look old and pastries that are obviously stale. Fried food stalls and steam table cuisine. The only exception I could see was Faidleys Seafood and Joy Hot Dog and Sausage. But it wasnt really enough to inspire me to hang around and eat. Overall, the place was so grimey that I wandered around to be polite, then left.World famous? For what? Just being there? Graveyards are famous for just being there, too.
Angies Soul Food across from the market is BS, I cant believe people are actually coming from out of town for that food. I hope you know that there are 3 Angies food spots in Baltimore. They are owned and operated by 3 different women, none related. The other 2 a different experience of good food. Try them out. Angies Soul Food is overpriced and not good.
Strawberry short cake was a little dry for me but others loved it will try again
The Ginger Snaps and the Strawberry upside down cake was fresh and delicious 😋
I was visiting Baltimore MD for our family reunion, I had to check out Lexington Market. They offer a variety of eatings from doughnuts to crab cakes. 10 chicken wings $12. They are $2 more expensive than New York! It is evident that the chicken has been cooked long in advanced, Im still trying to describe the skin of the chicken.
Its ok...some of the cakes and pies were almost expired, so thats not good...but ive bought a few things from the place and I didnt have any problems.... Id say check it out if you got time ...
This bakery always has fresh cake, pie and cookies so I come here every week.
Staff here are very polite and friendly..went here for a Pop up Jazz concert.nice!!?
Always a pleasurable experience!!!!!!!🤓💯👍🏼👍🏼💬❤💙😊🙂😎🙃😇💚💜💙💕
Great market place you can do all your shopping there and order food for take out
BEST place to eat their Chinese food. I cant remember the name of the palce but when I do I will post it. Anyway, all of the food there is wonderful & none of it is fake & most is made right in front of you && last but not least!!,, it is VERY affordable && totally worth the trip!
Your place for Korean Soul food. I mean the vendors are largely Korean, but the food is every kind of comfort food. There are 2 places selling only roasted and smoked Turkey. Every cut of meat you ever heard of, both raw and cooked. 4 vegetable/fruit stands. You can search for Andrew Zimmers visit on the Travel Channel. Many fish/seafood places. I always buy too much.
Fresh treats always worth a visit.
Owner still rude. Youd think after having video surface of a rat crawling in his case, hed be a little more pleasant to win back old customers. Nope.
Always fresh meats and vegetables from the vendor I have been going to for years!!!
Fresh food every day. You can’t go wrong!
Bad. No Vendor Diversity. Even worse then the last time I went there. Save ya money and dont get sick from eating there. You better off making your own Chinese food.
Great people here! Yummy cakes and cookies, I should have tried the donuts! Burger cookies are no joke- thats some serious fudge on them!
My experience was great. The apple turnover I had was good.
Very disappointed. No safe distancing. Most folks did not wear masks. Baked goods did not look appetizing. Looked stale and not worth buying. Meats not fresh looking. Place dark. Not many venders open 11a. Breeding place for virus. Parking less than 45 min 5.00.
Love this bakery. Hometown favorite. Food is like straight from Grandmas kitchen on any given holiday! Tastes like its always made with love.
Small crowd but this place was lit! They were playing loud club music, people were dancing. I just wanted food so I got meat loaf mac n cheese and yams. They gave me enough for another meal. Also stopped at the cookie store for some snickerdoodles. There was this crazy dude on the light rail yelling at a white girl for no reason you listen to country music - communist and I felt the need to mention that?.
We were just sight seeing after Faidleys for lunch. Wow, what a place! Make sure you include a visit if you visit Baltimore.
Great food, prices and staff
What a lovely shop to visit with some very attractive and friendly employees 😉. I was taking a stroll to the neighborhood methadone clinic one morning and stopped by and had a cannoli, needless to say I was not disappointed in the least. Great service price and taste... Yummmm
Totally different vibe and experience from when I was growing up. Made me 😥
This bakery has more than only fond memories, its better than many of the hyped bakeries in NYC, or even London. Have been a sometime customer since 1983, and theyre still here. Memories of the buttercream in the cakes (example: The Federal Hill Cake), the authentic fresh breads, the cookie varieties, and so on, make Muhlys a genuine Baltimore landmark. Just be careful going in and out of Lexington Market. Ya, you can thank me later. Right.
Everything was good didnt have no problems the service was good and the food was good its something different
This was my fav place to bisit for food fried chicken & king crab but now i dont care for it.. The area seems very sketchy.. Lots of homeless people & drug dealers hanging around all over the place.. I lost my appetite before I was able To figure out what I wanted to eat. Most of the staff at this place were extremely rude with a hurry up & buy attitude. This place could use a deep cleaning & some clearing out..
The food here is the reason this place remains a legendary staple in Baltimores history! Its not much i can say that jasnt alreasy been said. The oysters i had were great. The carved turkey sandwiches i had were fresh. Ghe donits i had from the bakery were incredible. Yhe chicken was nostalgic. Even the dancing potato i had was immaculate. The only reason they get 4 stars is because the parking isnt geeat at all. And the folks begging me for change walking in and out of here ruin the aesthetic!
Lexington Market is a thriving central market of deli, fruits and veg, fish, meat and local take out food. Everything there has good prices and very fresh. Go. The neighborhood is a rough one, but I have both walked there from a hotel in the morning for breakfast as well as driven and parked in the pay lot next to the market. It is a great place to learn about Baltimore culture like the three clams on the half shell and a beer at one of the vendor stands. Everyone just stands around, has a few clams and beer, and then heads home on the bus with groceries. Who knew unless you go there. Baltimore is evidently really well known for their Jewish corned beef. It is much milder than its NY cousin. The fresh corned beef sandwiches and shrimp salad at the Mary Marvins is not to be missed. Note, however, that in Baltimore Rubin sandwiches are not grilled. FRESH MEAT: GO TO THE BOOTH CALLED AMOS MEATS. I go to their stand every time I am in Baltimore and love their quality, freshness and friendliness. There is often no way to tell apart stand from stand in markets like this. I have been going there several times a year for going on 5 years. buy your meat at AMOS MEATS and tell them you saw Karens review. I told them I would post this when I was there last.
Good sweets here.
Doughnuts melt in your mouth
The cakes and pies are to die for melts in you mouth
They have some of the best food, cant wait until they reopen
Affordable delicious bakery items with a large selection and the workers are very professional.
Fresh cakes. Come early if you want the freshest donuts.
This review is not specific to the bakery. Google doesnt seem to have the ability to review the market as a whole. Not many vendors in June 2021, although they are expanding. Most vendors looked fine at best, many looked kind of bad. If youre visiting as a tourist, you probably are considering it for Faidleys seafood. That is a high point. The crab cakes at Faidleys are pretty good (but be prepared to pay 22-30 bucks for a softball sized serving). We went, saw the state of most of it, went to Faidleys, then pretty quickly moved on. Even Faidleys isnt a good value, and there isnt much else around, so maybe skip this on your trip.
Black and white cookies are the best from here hands down among all the other goodies they have!!
The bakery was great I ordered a slice of birthday cake which was delicious and three strawberry cupcakes the strawberry icing was so good .
I was there on a Saturday, so it was busy. The food I had was good, but more expensive than I expected. Some friends and I were there to grab lunch. The space was pretty big, but not as clean or updated as expected. This was my first time going there, it will probably be awhile before I return there again. Construction outside was a mess. Parking was difficult to find.
Amazing food and always fresh!
The Market is open with the essential shops except the delicatessen. Wish they were back.
My Lexington market. I simply love this place😊.
Cool place with an assortment of baked goods at reasonable prices. All fresh and good. Yum!
Fresh baked bread is good
The walking guides on the floors are confusing & no one seems to follow them, despite the outbreak of COVID-19. The Market is nearly desolate, indoors, nowadays. Additionally, theres no rhyme or reason to the line-up systems. I cant imagine it back to full-capacity. No public restrooms or places to sit or eat.The few places are open are alright, but the prices are not. 😣
Definitely not like it use to be. Was not fresh at all.I wont be returning 👎
Lexington Market is Baltimore history. For that reason it is always worth a visit. Lots of food, unique vendors that are exclusive to the market. The negative has more to do with the overall challenge of the area. It isnt thriving at the moment but the city has some big plans for redoing the market and hopefully drawing more business to that area.
Great place especially for out of towners. Under construction at present for new improved market
Good place for food and definitly drinjd❤
Good bake items youll choice..
The best doughnuts in the market
Love thier chocolate doughnuts.
First time being at the Lexington market, we went right when they opened. Not a lot of people were there. The whole place needs to be cleaned. We had smoothies that were good. Everyone was friendly. But parking was horrible to figure out how to get out of the parking lot and pay. Locals had to help tell us what to do with the chip. We wont go back.
I dont live in city anymore which is good because of crime & cost of living is too high but man you just cant find good food like this
Everything was fresh only place that I have experienced chocolate apple fritters
Always come here when Im in Lexington market for Sweet treats
Fantastic establishment; great pastry, cakes, muffins and pies with varied selections.
Great fresh selections
Great cheesecake 😋 and pastries!
Best Baltimore bakery over east
Its being renovated but its getting better
Always fresh, delicious and best service.
The snickerdoodle cake is EVERYTHING!!!!! I literally went for cake and I live on the other side of town lol
Enjoy their fresh homemade deserts!!
We Left Bmore years ago. While we were living there we always went to Lexington Market to eat! I always got the cheese steak!!!!! There was so much to choose from. It had its spots that could use renovations and extra cleaning but the food was always good! Is it true they closed them down for good ?
Great Cakes 🧁 cookies 🍪
Great sweet treats, at great prices.
Didnt have enough time to check out all the market everything changed.visiting B-more 👏🏼
Anticipation For The Opening Of NEW LEXINGTON MARKET 🙂
The cake doughnuts were delicious
Lexington Market is a place of its own little world there. But I do love those smoothies and the crabs they have there and the cakes so all-in-all I think its a decent place. But be careful you might get robbed by them young punks
You cannot eat in the Lexington market now, carryout only. I buy fried fish, crab cakes and I take them home to eatI cant wait for the new Lexington market to open.
