I am very impressed with this team of people. Dr. Magnus was polite and personable . I felt he did a thorough exam, and I’m surprised that my contacts are working so well. He had me sample one brand, and ordered a second specialty lens for me to try also. I had an equally excellent experience with my glasses and the optician was kind and helpful.I had already decided I would write a nice review, but they became even more helpful . My contacts were special order, and I received a package with two pairs of sample lenses to hold me over until my special lenses came in, since there was a delay with my lenses. I’m very impressed with this team and their level of professionalism. I’m in health care so I try to give credit when it’s due, and I highly recommend this clinic. 10/10 🙂

It has been a bit since my appointment. As always the exam part went lovely but once my prescription was gotten they railroaded me into getting glasses there. I had to be firm that I wanted something that my insurance covered and not the $560+ fames the lady brought me.They also tried to railroad me into getting the most expensive glass coating possible and she was visibly annoyed when I insisted on the basic package.I asked multiple times for a copy of my prescription (which by law they are supposed to give). I was told multiple times I would get it. It took asking for it again when I was checking out for someone to finally give me a copy.Two stars because the exam is always good. But I do not recommend going here. I also ordered glasses on line and the coating is much better than what they do at this place.

Will not be back... Received defective glasses... Went back.... Did not fix my issue. If you make an appointment with this joke be prepared to wait outside in the heat until they let you in the door. This establishment is mismanaged and communication is non-existent! Workers are probably affected by this due to their poor sense of customer service!! As a first-time patient, trying to book an appointment, I tried forever to get in touch with them (by phone and by email). I FINALLY did get in contact with them. If they two young people I spoke with are indicative of the customer service there, I will never go there. Well, I am never going there. First impressions are very important. I just called another vision. BIG difference in how I was treated and spoken to. Im going there.

Geez this place has gone downhill in the past few years. My family and I could always get our glasses adjusted properly now its really bad. Everyone used to be amazing now not so much. the long haired guy in the lab josh? and others who used to be great are long gone

I am sad to say this but I have reached my breaking point with Sandia Vison. I have been gong to Sandia since I was a child. I received my first glasses from here. The past three years have been a flop. I wanted to overlook last year due to COVID. Customer service was hard on the community as a whole. However, I went again this year and although I would of course allow for COVID precautions or small nuances, I cannot forgive the lack of services and scheduling. My appointment has been moved on Sendias part for the last three years. I work in a first responder profession and make my appointment for the little time I have off. Each time it never fails they call me to re-schedule my appointment due to an oversight on their part. Either the ophthalmologist is not in on that day or they over booked the ophthalmologist. I also ask to see the same ophthalmologist and I get a new one each time. I have also been trying to call for my trial lenses for the past three days (during business hours) and never receive a call back. I NEED my contacts for my job and to drive. I am disappointed and taking my business elsewhere for my next exam and contacts.

If I had the choice to select no stars I would! I am so beyond frustrated with this practice. I called the beginning of May to schedule an appointment. Scheduler got me all set up with an appointment, I gave her my insurance information and all was well... (or so I thought.) I called to confirm the time of my appointment and turns out they cancelled WITHOUT any notification. When I asked why the scheduler said there was an issue with my insurance and they called to get it fixed.... however no phone call was made to me. This was the worst customer service I have ever dealt with when scheduling an appointment.

The most unprofessional and unkind group of staff I ever have had to deal with. Every encounter I had with them through many different visits have been horrible experience. I had to call and text over and over again and wait a long time just to let them know I’m here to pick up my glasses. I even spoke with their manager and showed him the amount of times I had to call and text just for someone to answer. All he said was “oh I’m sorry” . All they do is try to sell you the most expensive pair of glasses without giving you anything in writing to tell about the warranty or anything, when I questioned them they said “you just have to take our words.” Horrible horrible place. I don’t wish my worst enemy to experience what I have with this place so far.

I made an appointment for my daughter and I, was told to be there at 4:50, with a 15 minute window. We got there and checked in at 5:00 on the dot. Front girl said shed only see one of us since apparently one of our appointments was at 4:30. I tried to inform her what the person who confirmed had told me the day before, and she interrupted me said very rudely I said I will only take one of you. This is the 4th time in 2 years an employee has been blatantly rude for no reason. We will definitely be returning to Albuquerque Vision Clinic, and it was a mistake to go to Sandia in the 1st place. Would NEVER recommend. Doesnt even deserve the 1 star I have to leave to place a review.

This place in the past years is in serious decline. Any experienced or friendly workers always leave!! Keep your good employees!

Horrible scheduling. Horrible Customer Service. Was told this is the best vision clinic in ABQ. Wrong. 3 month wait for eye exam, and prescription renewal. My wife took off of work after finding somebody to cover for her. When she showed up she was told the appointment was canceled because Dr. Hockett was not even in the office. She received no notification whatsoever. Appointment rescheduled for a couple weeks later. Again my wife arranged her work schedule to get herself and my son examined.When she arrived she was told that they had scheduled her for the Nob Hill office, which we have never been to, and again without notification. They offered to reschedule for another two weeks down the line. We declined and will be looking for another eye clinic.

Ive been coming to Sandia Vision for more than six years & on my last visit i was wearing a star of david necklace that i believe must be why i was treated so badly. When i expressed my concern with Denise & explained this might be my last visit she said thats ok no questions about why. Also, for some reason i was not given a pre exam until i questioned why & which my insurance covers. Lastly i had scheduled a contact lens exam as the doctor made his final notes, i asked what about my contacts & he said he thought i was there for glasses.

Had a good eye exam. Outcome was that I needed glasses. Waited for the recommended time but never got a call that my glasses were in. I called multiple times throughout the week and left text messages but no one ever got back to me. I by chance happened to get someone on the line and found out they had been in for a week now and no one contacted me. They had the wrong number on file. My wife is also with them so I don’t see how they couldn’t get my info from her. I check-in for curbside pickup and there I am waiting over 30 mins to get my glasses. I call and no one picks up, and when I finally get someone, she didn’t have my info. She didn’t know I was waiting. I gave it a two for the exam, I’ll keep the three stars for my time!

Been going to Sandia Vision for the last decade or so and always had good experiences. However, I feel the customer service side of things has gone down. Very hard to get a hold of someone to schedule and once you do, they may change your appt last minute after you already confirmed the original. Happened to my son a few months back. We confirmed the appt, showed up with my son at the confirmed time and proceeded to check in. We were told that we were 15 minutes late and the appt was canceled. They had changed the appt but never received confirmation from my wife nor I. Fine, we will adjust...COVID and stuff... right?I had an appt for myself with Dr. Hockett this afternoon. Appt never happened. I showed up at 3:00 for my confirmed 3:20 appt. I text the number to check in and the response is “We signed you in, please stay in your car, a tech will call you shortly.” So I wait until 3:50 and I am a little perturbed at this point, knowing that if they have not taken me in by now, from past experiences, I was probably not going to get out of there until way later. In addition, I think about them cancelling my son’s appt that I mentioned in the first paragraph and makes me a little more upset. I call the number to speak with a tech, I tell him the above and he just says sorry, no explanation. I informed him at this point, I would like to cancel the appt. He transfers me to scheduling where I sit on hold for five minutes. I did not get her name, but I told the person my situation and I do not receive a sorry nor explanation why they are so far behind, just a simple, would you like to reschedule. The nonchalant way that she handled this seems to me that this is pretty common.I am very disappointed my family will be looking for a new office. We really liked Dr. Fite(retired) and Dr. Hockett, but this operation at Sandia Vision really needs to take a look at itself right now. It’s not what it use to be. Check in, let us know you running behind, instead of letting patients just waste gas and time sitting in their vehicle.

I had an appointment last august for new glasses. They kept screwing up and I’d have to call them to get updates and they’d be like, oh yea, they weren’t made correctly so we sent them back 4 DAYS AGO. The manager couldn’t understand why I was so upset because it wasn’t their fault. Because no one’s telling me what’s going on! The first time they screwed up the made them single vision instead of progressives, when it clearly states in my file that the last pair I got from them were progressives. By the time I finally got them, it was October. TWO MONTHS IT TOOK! And honestly, they aren’t perfect but good enough that I can do what I need to. Two weeks ago, the frame broke and my lens falls out and I have to glue them back together. I’ve never dropped them, there’s no reason for them breaking the way they did. This place has gone downhill fast and I’ll never go back again.

I have been going to Sandia Vision for years and have always been a happy camper until now. I had a routine eye exam this year and apparently I have a medical condition that the doctor failed to inform me of. As a result, I ended up paying most of my invoice out of pocket due to how insurance plans work. Failure of a doctor to inform a patient of a medical diagnosis is beyond unacceptable. The whole point of having an eye exam is to determine the health of my eyes. If I have a new diagnosis as a result of that exam the doctor is obligated to inform me of that diagnosis. If I can’t trust the doctors than I can’t trust this business as a whole.

If I could give negative reviews I would. I have gone to Sandia Vision for over 10 years. I loved my doctor there but he retired and this place has really gone downhill, and not not just since Covid. We have had significant issues with them for at least the past 2 years. They don’t return phone calls, they destroyed my daughters glasses trying to “fix” them. It took them 6 weeks to get my husbands glasses in before Covid and after we called they were magically just in. My other daughter called every day for over a month and left messages trying to talk to someone in their glasses department and they never called back. Covid is no excuse for poor customer service! We are glad to find a new vision clinic!!!

So awesome! Began when I walked in and was greeted with a giant smile. Next Robert the tech took the time to answer my questions. The doctor was humorous and drew a picture to explain progressives as I am new to them. Kara the fabulous helped me with my lenses and frames and was so upbeat and positive! I was referred to this place because I asked my childs optetrician for a place that would fit his glasses to his face. Hes 6 now and been in glasses since he was 4. Weve had problems with his other glasses being too big for his face and always sitting on the tip of his nose instead of the bridge. He also has a wide face so the arms need to be rounded, like mine. There was a long wait for his glasses to come back to the store due to COVID-19, Not their fault. I finally set up an appointment to get his glasses adjusted. They initially told me to just take them home and schedule an appointment later if needed. Knowing my child and the issues weve had before I opted to schedule a fitting when we picked them up. When we got there the girl who was supposed to fit him was entirely unwilling to adjust the glasses to fit him. I had to repeatedly ask and show her from my glasses that it is in fact possible to adjust them to his face! I am very dissatisfied with this particular persons service and will not be going back. If your child needs any special adjustments DONT GO HERE. After some time arguing with this girl we got them almost right. I was so irritated with her we just left. My sons glasses are still rubbing behind his ears and stick out way behind his head. Im taking him elsewhere for corrections. So much for that recommendation. I love his optetrician, but will never go here for glasses again. (His optetrician is not there.) If you are ok with glasses off the shelf then go right ahead, but if you need adjustments FORGET IT!

I tried this place because of the good reviews. BIG MISTAKE. I scheduled my appointment a month ago, they called me and told me a week before my appointment that they lied about the availability. The doctor doesnt work on that day. Tried to reschedule for two weeks later, which doesnt work due to health issues. ZERO offers to help accommodate a new or similar appointment. I dont recommend unless you like *wasting your time*. USELESS.

Each time its been a bad experience. Optometrists are polite as well as most staff but they are the most unorganized office Ive ever encountered. Glasses take way too long to get done. Theyve gotten my daughters glasses wrong both times weve gone. We witnessed another patient get entirely the wrong glasses while we were there last year and they argued with the patient even though they were clearly wrong! Give me the run around about billing, even charged me double this time. We thought we would save them the trouble and brought our own frames and they broke them! Sounds crazy but I never had a problem with Walmart Vision so were done going to Sandia.

DO NOT GO HERE! i went and got a full eye exam. when i got my glasses i couldnt see at all... my rx was so messed up! I ended up going to another eye dr and she couldnt believe the difference in the rx...i ended up ordering my glasses online because they wanted to change me 800+ for new sunglasses and lenses for my other glasses. When i got my glasses i could not see outta them...i talked to another lady who had been there 3 times to get her glasses straight cause they messed up her rx also. So dont go here save yourself $$ and a headache ... go somewhere else! This place is horrible. I reported them to my insurance company...

This was my first time to Sandia Vision and I can highly recommend them. They listened to my concerns and made the perfect pair of glasses that I can actually see out of. The staff and Doctors were friendly and helpful from the exam to picking up my glasses. When I first arrived, the waiting room was full. I remember thinking this is going to take forever. On the contrary, they moved surprisingly quickly for as much attention as they spend with their patients. You need to remember that they are busy for a reason. Its because they provide a great service for their customers. I will be a repeat customer!

Very disappointed. I have gone to Sandia vision for years, and they have.provided decent eye care for our family. But something has changed, and my most recent experience was so poor that I doubt I will return. There is a problem with the prescription that I received from them this summer. I have phoned the office multiple times to get clarification and can never talk to a human, just leave messages that are Never Returned! I paid out of pocket, but now will likely need to go somewhere else to get a new, correct prescription.This is no way to run a business, and no way to treat customers.

Given false information about charges and cost by 2 different employees on my last visit. It will definitely be my last visit. I informed them at the visit that if there were a charge, i could not do the visit and was assured there would be no charge. I received a bill later, called with my insurance company even. 66% charge would have been added for collection. Finally just had to get the money somehow. Last money i will spend here. Doctors are great, but beware of extra charges and fees. It was the lack of honesty that cost my patronage going forward.

I have tried the Eubank office several times over the past 2 years as it’s very close to my home and now I’ve tried the Nob Hill office. I have had a bad experience every time. I cannot recommend Them. The doctors are unfriendly, the staff couldn’t figure out how to bill my vision insurance, and they have canceled my appointments after I waited for months. It’s just not good. It’s never been good. I don’t get it.

Three months later, I still have no glasses. They made them apparently to someone elses RX because I couldnt see out of them. They claimed it was because I have diabetes, but Ive had diabetes for 25 years and never had this problem.I asked them to get my previous prescription from Stanton Optical and use that, and they agreed. I filled out the records release form. TWO MONTHS LATER I called to find out if I could come and get my glasses, and they hadnt even attempted to get the old RX yet!They got the RX that day and told me my glasses would be ready last week. Never heard from them. I just called and they told me, The new glasses didnt pass inspection, so they have to remake them.This is a great place to go if you want your glasses made incorrectly or dont want them for maybe six months? I am sorry I ever found this place and would never recommend them to anyone.

Ive been going to Sandia Vision Clinic for about three years now. Ive always been please. The receptionists, technicians, doctors, and folks who help with the glasses have always been friendly and professional. The exam seems comprehensive and questions are always answered. The selection of frames and lens features are very large. And, the clinic always does a great job helping me understand what my insurance will pay for (and will not pay for). Definitely recommend.

Got in and out at a reasonable but not rushed pace; everyone was so friendly and nice. My frame consultant was knowledgeable about what my insurance would cover and did not push me into spending more for extras I did not want/need and was upfront about warranty information and the like.Dr. Adams was the best! She made me feel at ease during the appointment and actually improved my prescription and gave me in depth information about my eye health.Though they may be priced higher than the big box eyeglass places (Eyeglass World, Costco, etc...) the way youre treated here is worth the little extra expense. Personalized and you feel like youre with people who really care.

What ever you do, do not deal with these people. I have had numerous issues to include 1) eye glass prescription was canceled the same day it was placed for reasons that can’t figure out however when making my payment the following day they didn’t even notify me that it was canceled until 19 days later As I waited for the eye glass prescription to be filled only to tell me it was cancelled the same day it was done. 2) I requested a refund in which it’s been well over 2 weeks now and still nothing and when I called again regarding the refund they stated the last person I spoke to never noted the refund. Btw they said the refund would be in a form of a check that would take 10 days (still nothing)I gave it one star because I had to put something but In my opinion Sandia Vision Doesn’t even deserve so much as one star based off of their lack of professionalism and zero communication let alone the Competence to figure things out. If anyone has had a great experience with them then good for you but this is my experience and I will not be dealing with them going further other then to get my refund which wasn’t a small refund so if I do not receive it asap I will be filing a complaint with the consumer reporting agency. I had an appointment at 8:45 am today, 2/11. There were delays due to weather, but for the most part streets were fine. I made it there by 8:30 from the west side of town without issue. No one there, never received a call or follow up after the fact. Obviously they dont care, therefore Ill take my business elsewhere.

Way Way overpriced!! Like $600-800 glasses expensive...no. Here’s what I suggest (this is what we did): go buy a membership at Costco for $60-90/yr, then look at their glasses selection, which is just as good and closer to the $100-200 range. Buy the glasses, have them made/fit for free at Costco and then use the money you saved to renew your membership for years and years to come! Same glasses and a Costco membership for years! Don’t go to Sandia Vision Clinic, total rip off, I couldn’t believe how expensive they are....I’d give 0 stars but it wasn’t an option. I hope this helps you in your search for glasses

Would like to state that the medical side for examinations was great! Professional, prompt and, knowledgeable. On the other hand the optics side was a completely different story, I am writing this this 4 weeks after my initial visit returning home without my new glasses and awaiting a refund for my purchase! Was originally told it would be 7-14 days, after 6 my wifes glasses where ready the next day I called to inquire about mine, I was told they would be ready the next week... Called back and was informed that it would be the end of that week and when I called that Friday I was told Monday. Called Monday to be told Tuesday. Called Tuesday to be told they didnt even have lenses for my glasses!!! I spoke to the office manager that told me they would put a rush job on my glasses but it would most likely be the next Monday for them to be ready. I then get a call at the end of the week and that my glasses would be done and ready to pick up on Monday. So this morning I get a call telling me my glasses would be ready this coming Thursday and when I inquired why the difference, I was told the lab had just got my lenses and needed to process them!!! The two times I have visited the optics side I have heard other customers going through the same issues! I have requested a refund and my glasses to be returned. Horrible unprofessional customers service, lies from staff and smoke blown up my back side from the office manager. I understand that after 37. Years of wearing glasses that it may take a couple of days, even a week to get a pair but I really like the frames I have and got them with new lenses twice elsewhere and new insurance led me to Sandia Vision for close and convenient location. Get your eyes examined and go elsewhere for glasses.

The staff in the frame area are not friendly or helpful at all. In fact, the lady had absolutely no smile and seemed bugged when we took more than 5 minutes to choose a frame. She also seemed annoyed when I asked her for the price on some frames as there was no price tag for me to determine the price on my own. The doctors are great, but the staff seem like spoiled millennials who seem bothered when they have to do their jobs.

Sandia Vision Clinic is amazing my husband and I went there for the first time and everything went smoothly the receptionists were very friendly and welcoming, the waiting area and glasses area are both very nice and well organized. The techs and Dr Magnus were all wonderful and helpful they defined take their time and provide excellent patient care. We will definitely be referring our friends and family.

My ophthalmologist is wonderful, but the customer service is terrible. For the past 3 or 4 years Ive gone here, NOT ONCE have I not been put on hold when I called. They have it set up so the person helping patients has to answer the phone and theyre ALWAYS with a patient. I immediately get put on hold for several minutes EVERY SINGLE TIME I CALL and they get upset at you if you tell them you dont have time to hold.Its exhausting and I dread having to call Sandia Vision for anything because I know a two minute conversation will take 10-15 minutes of my time. I wish my eye doctor worked for someone else. It just happened again, of course. I wish they could figure this out already.And while Im raving on here, I wish they could make an invoice that is discernible - jeebus what a cf of random payments. Youd think it was a three day hospital stay instead of an eye exam and contacts.

Ive purchased mine and my sons glasses from Sandia Vision at the Eubank location. They have the most wonderful customer service ever. I cant speak highly enough about everything theyve done to make sure I received my glasses done right. They even repaired my glasses when the frame broke a few months after getting new lenses, even though I didnt purchase my frames with them!

Ive been coming to this location for 20+ years and the quality of customer service in the vision center has fallen off dramatically. Im presently forty-five minutes into my wait for the lab to finish whatever is needed whilst being reassured that the delay was related to the time it took to find them in the pile that came in yesterday. Would that I could rate the medical end of the business separate, 5 stars.

Over twenty years of being a patient at this optical clinic. Never, ever, again. The first time I went to pick up my glasses, the bridge was soldered on off center. (Two weeks waiting wasted.) The second time I went to pick up my glasses, learned the staff member had failed to reorder the bridge piece, they were the same, unfixed glasses. Assured by staff member the new bridge piece would be ordered and It will only take 15 minutes to swap out the piece when it comes in. (Another week wasted.) The third time I went to have the bridge piece fixed, I was informed by a staff member, It will take forty five minutes, at least, to have it fixed. And, I had to sign a disclaimer if they break, scratch, or damage the glasses in any way, they are not responsible. The fourth time I went to pick up the glasses, the new bridge is just as bad as the first one. Thus far, I have wasted four hours driving and fuel, almost four weeks waiting, and paid too much money to end up with a defective product, their staff failed to fix. Epic fail. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

Ive ordered not 1 but 2 pairs of glasses about a month ago, and they still have not arrived!!! no call to give me a update, nothing!!! meanwhile ive been calling weekly and all i get is their shipment is coming in today!! and still nothing!! Ive also gone in to check on the status and at that time asked for a refund and was told i wasnt able to get a refund since the glasses were on its way! yea B.S!!!! i will never deal with them again and will also let everyone i know not to go to them! I received a great exam, but they billed my insurance for glasses when I didnt buy them from there.My money hasnt been returned to my insurance company so I cannot get refunded the money out of pocket for the glasses I paid for out of pocket.Doctors were good,Then lets talk about the lady fitting and selling the glasses. She tried to fit my 10 year old daughter into a Womens sized frame, and she was more than happy to sell them to us at almost 600 dollars, I found the same frame and lenses for 180.Management should probably step up their game if they would like to continue business.Never again!!!
