As I was shopping around for a home security system I knew I wanted to go with a local company and Coastal Security Group came highly recommended! Josh came out to my home and addressed all of my questions, concerns and security needs. Glenn came out and did the install and was very professional and neat and tidy. He walked me through the process of using my keypad and doorbell camera (which is awesome!) As a more than satisfied customer I recommend Coastal Security Group for your home security monitoring needs!

Scott showed me the system and went over all the options with me and helped me pick out the things that work best for my application. I had my system installed by Will. The installation was painless and quick. He took the time to walk me through the system and ensure I knew how to use all the options. The controls for the system are easy to use and have many options. Only one issue came up that was taken care of quickly. I recommend them highly to all my friends and coworkers.

Coastal Security did a wonderful job setting up our new home. The consultation was informative and thorough, even for a tech geek like me. On installation day they set up a new touch door lock, garage door connector, touchscreen control panel, new door opening detectors, and a new motion detector with minimal fuss and all very clean. Im very happy with their service.

***UPDATE***This is an update on a previous review. We were upset at the initial lack of communication, but once Coastal came to the house, they did a fine job in making sure things were right. They wired things correctly, explained their work, and left making sure things were in good shape.By all accounts working with them was a positive experience.******Our current experience with coastal is abysmal. The lack of call backs?After easily 4 or 5 messages, all of which were never returned, I get an operator who eventually schedules her staff to come out, then 2 hours later they “call back” to postpone the work. We’ve been waiting close to a month for them to do some repair work and simply explain some wiring choices.They did the wiring and security in our new home, and we had to hand hold them through the entire process. First they did the wiring incorrectly in our office, installing the wrong jack in the wrong room. The security system isn’t functioning (luckily we’re not paying monthly for it, yet, and may not).Finally we have ancillary and redundant ports spread out throughout the damn house that we can’t so much get an explanation for. The jacks of which we didn’t request, and for the jacks we did request, no one seems to know why they aren’t there, or where the adapters went that support these random ethernet jacks.I’ll update this review when they actually come out to do the work, but in the mean time working with Coastal has been nothing short of an awful experience.

Everything was absolutely fantastic from the very beginning to the very end. I would recommend this company and this staff to everyone and anyone interested. The system work fantastically as well.EDIT. WHAT STARTED OFF WELL HAS TURNED QUICKLY. I was promised all services remained under one price. Well, minus cameras now. This is not what I was told and I cannot wait for my contract with them to be up.

I prefer companies with a DCJS license,and their techs are ALL certified.Here is my scenario, new house and I had a very important business meeting,I just moved in and securing the house was a top priority. Josh did a walkthrough with me, and I gave him my house key to hand to the technician.I have so much ABSOLUTE TRUST in this company I gave them my house key so they could install while I wasnt even home!!!Install was clean, any drilling debris was vacuumed up and wiped away clean,attention to detail was precise and Paramount. I had requested a few cosmetic things if it was possible ,and the technician took it upon himself to go far and above to make the lines and hardware clean and well put together. My key was left where I asked it to be when I returned home some hours later,again, stellar service.Call Center Command: the folks that call you if an alarm is triggered. Polite, quick and to the point once you verify who you are via code. Tell you exactly what was triggered and how.Outstanding Customer Service-Outstanding group.If you want an affordable,reliable,secure system go with these guys.Ive done security work around the world,in some pretty bad places, of course Im going to be astringent.Josh and the guys at Coastal are Great.Go with this group,you wont be disappointed.

I have been a customer with Coastal Security for just over two years. I recently moved amd decided to continue my service. I have had great customer service with both Coastal and the monitoring service. The equipment is user friendly and has been reliable. The technicians have been polite and hard working, especiallly Will. The customer service representative/sales person I have dealt with is Josh Preston. He has been great with ocommunication and always fulfilled on his promises. I highly recommend Coastal if you are looking for a good dependable sytem and customer service experience.

After suffering through four years of technicians that would show up at the property without fully understanding the equipment they install, finally had enough of the poor service from this company this past week. A technician for this company actually called and requested that I remove hardware and troubleshoot with him over the phone. Im no technician and the technician actually said be careful not to touch jot leads and short the unit out as he attempted to guide me on a procedure that lead to hardware failure that a homeowner had no business dealing with. Additionally, They install equipment that is beyond OEM Warranty, and the owner is defiant if you ever question them. Buyer beware.

This is a terrible company. When our system was installed we were never told that VOIP might be an issue. The company will not let us out of our contract. This means that I am paying a monthly fee for NOTHING. As soon as we can separate ourselves from this worthless service the better. I am going to put a sign in my yard warning future consumers to avoid this company.

Coastal Security Group equipment (2GIG System) is the wave of the future according to the latest geek blogs and forums. Therefore, it just felt like the right thing to invest in when the protection and safety of my family is the subject.The system is fully wireless; we have a low GSM/wireless signals in our area. However, the owner (Mark), sales rep (Scott), technician (Will) and customer rep (Joe) collaborated with us in order to increase the signal strength in our home. After some trouble shooting and perseverance; we used a longer antenna and relocated the main control panel which resulted in a green signal. Our system has worked ever-since.We are happy knowing that we can remote into our system via our iPhones to arm or disarm it prior to pulling into/out of the driveway and we can check on our homes status/history while we are away. But, most of all our home is being monitored 24/7/365, which is the biggest perk/piece of mind for me.Thanks Coastal Security Group Team!!!
