Dr. Gary Johnson is simply one of the best. I came in yesterday with severe pressure that has built from week. Turns out I had the end of a Q-tip in my ear! I was that person! There was slight discomfort when removing the tip and surrounding wax. However, that discomfort was no where near what I have been experiencing over the last week. I honestly couldnt recommend someone more. Dr. Johnson was professional, efficient, and had excellent communication throughout the procedure. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and I could hear again!- 12/10 will be back for future issues (hopefully not another Q-tip)

What a positive experience for my 103 year old mother today! My 95 year old mom went to see Dr. Gary today. She has always fought me about getting hearing aids and I teach Deaf students. What a turn around by the time we left the office. She has not even taken them off. All she keeps saying is how nice everyone in the office was. She couldnt understand why her friends always said their hearing aids didnt work or were uncomfortable. My mom LOVES them. The right hearing aids are the key!!! Dr. Gary works with a lot of my students too, thats why I trust him greatly with my mother. This hearing group takes the time to show you how to maintain and care for your hearing aids yourself so that you do not have to make the trip into their facility. However, they are just as happy to do the maintenance on your hearing aids for you. They have always been charming, polite, attentive, smiling, and caring on top of the skillful knowledge they have in hearing impairment. What more could you ask for from medical professionals?

When one thinks about the real meaning of the rating of something being “Five Stars,” it is quite a statement. Dr. Johnson actually lives up to this rating in every appointment I have had with him. In a time where truly excellent medical care is getting harder to find, he is a Treasure Chest of professionalism, compassion, amazing communication skills and humility. I came to his office with a complicated medical profile after two accidents and several serious diagnoses. He treated me with profound respect as I stumbled through trying to express myself, feeling worn and tattered in general, and having few drs who really took time to “listen” to my concerns.Everything about going to see him at his South Scottsdale office is uplifting. He has a great crew, he makes it fun by his amazingly sincere personality and the office is creatively warm and relaxing. He is a gifted teacher who just assumes people have great “worth.” A rare characteristic these days. He is a straight-shooter who is secure, but not at all haughty about his knowledge base. He is passionate to help fellow human beings through their greatest weaknesses without condescension. I would not be exaggerating if I said he has even helped me recover emotionally from my injuries simply by being hopeful and encouraging when I could barely navigate to walk in his doors. I was greeted promptly by Dr. Amanda Jones within 5 minutes of my arrival. The receptionist was very friendly. I am more than satisfied with the care I received. Dr. Jones explained the entire process and really took all my fears away. I can now hear better than ever and I am more than satisfied with the care she gave me. I will continue to make the drive to her for any hearing need I may have in the future.

I waited too long to come to this business because I had many trips to urgent care. I finally decided it was time to see an ear specialist to view about my blocked ear and they were able to extract what was inside my ear. I always wanted to come get my ears cleaned after viewing it on social media and Im very happy I did. Dont use qtips!

Words can not express how thankful I was to find Advanced Hearing group after visiting other clinics and even an ENT specialist spending upwards of $500 on one visit. Other doctors wanted to prescribe antibiotics that I did not need and an unnecessary hearing test. The same specialist suctioned the wax out of my ear which was very painful and did not clear the condition. At AHG everybodys been very helpful especially Gary Johnson who had my ear cleared up within 10 minutes after gently removing and flushing the wax from my ear for a very reasonable fee. I immediately felt like a new man after months of suffering! Since my initial visit I have returned and was delighted to see that they are using up to date Covid guidelines to keep everyone safe. Upon arriving I was the only one at the apt. I was instructed to hand sanitize and go wash my hands and have my temp taken before going on to the examination room. My initial visit to Gary Johnson was almost three years ago. At the time I knew I was hearing impaired but had no knowledge of modern hearing aids or how they would help my situation. Gary is a very efficient, informative, patient and professional individual. He was extremely helpful with everything from initial testing, fitting and what to expect from my new hearing aids moving forward.I have been back a number of times over the last three years. Very quick and efficient and cost effective service from this office. Dr. Gary has great equipment, clean office and a very good staff! I had an ear wax build-up in one ear and the good Dr. and staff took care of it within a 15 minute visit. They worked me into their schedule same day within hours of me calling them. Other ENT offices were booked out for weeks and just said “sorry”! I Highly recommend this office for your ear wax issues.

I was supposed to be on a two-week trial for hearing aids yet my insurance was charged $2,404 adjusting the hearing aids and $19,000 for the hearing aidsnone of which I purchased but my insurance was charged and they denied it. I reported them to my insurance company. I think its terrible. I went to another place and all they charge me was $30 to reprogram my own hearing aids.

Dr. Johnson and his office staff are incredible. My father has been a patient of theirs for years and they are second to none. I shopped for hearing aids and was tested and given the sales pitch at a high-end clinic a wholesale club and at Advanced Hearing Group in Scottsdale on McDowell Road.Without question I felt the most confident in the information provided by Dr. Johnson. Perhaps it was the way he and his staff made me feel comfortable; perhaps it was Dr.Js low-key but informative style or perhaps it was the doctor convincing me he would get me the best equipment at the best cost in my price range. For all those reasons, I selected Advanced hearing Group, they came through on every front. Ive known Dr. Adam DiPuccio and Dr. Gary Johnson with the Advanced Hearing Group since 2004. Ive been in and out of their offices for years and there are a few things Id like to say.But before I do, let me make it clear that I wasn’t asked to write this review. Im writing it because they truly deserve to be recognized for how wonderful they both truly are.Adam and Gary promote a culture of caring; not only to their patients, but to their staff as well. They recognize the needs of others, they are great listeners and they build strong relationships with people around them. Their offices are modern and always very clean. They use state-of-the art equipment and techniques. In addition, they are very competitive in price for their services.The bottom line is, both Dr. DiPuccio and Dr. Johnson are hands down the best Audiologists, or for that matter the best medical doctors that I’ve seen in my 53 years of life! I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to get their hearing checked and to anyone with any type if a hearing issue.

So happy with Advanced Hearing ! Easy booking, no waiting 30-45 mins past my appointment time! Everyone was so kind and helpful , Cassandra Schmidt cleaned my ears after a couple months of pain, she did it in 2 minutes and I feel brand new !! My primary physician couldnt even get this done in 15 mins and caused a bunch of pain and clogged my ears even worse. I love how they use a scope so you can see whats going on. And Im sure they explain it 20x a day but she was still patient and funny answering all my questions and concerns! Glad I found this place :)

Im only 26, and to have a sufficient amount of hearing loss from birth, to say I was stubborn and resistant to get hearing aids is an understatement.Dr. Johnson is very professional. Hes friendly, and hes extremely knowledgeable. He went out of his way to ensure I was within my budget, as well as getting a great product.For the first time in my life - I can hear! I had a very brief (well, maybe a half hour long) moment of panic, where I was resistant and could only see the negatives of getting hearing aids. He was so supportive of my overly dramatic response to hearing. He turned the hearing aids down to a level that was perfect for starting out. I came in a few times after for him to adjust, check, and turn them up.Everything he said was right on. He told me that I would truly enjoy hearing my kids... I have to say that was the only thing he was wrong about, LOL. My kids are amazing, and loud. Ha Ha!I will never forget my experience with him, and am forever grateful. Now I get to live a life of hearing fully, while enjoying it and the experience getting their. He has a customer for life. As a person who was just diagnosed with tinnitus and some hearing loss, I decided to see Dr. Gary Johnson and discuss if hearing aids would be beneficial to me.Dr. Johnson gave me a thorough examination and evaluation and recommended hearing aids for me to help with the hearing loss and help quiet the tinnitus.I have been wearing my new hearing aids for about 2 months now and I am so happy with them. I took my grandfather here and couldnt be happier with my experience. My grandpa is very stubborn and has been suffering from hearing loss for several years. The staff at Advanced Hearing Group were great with him and so friendly. I would definitely recommend the McDowell office location to others!

After being told to get my hearing checked by my family for years. OH, by the way If you have told to have your hearing check. Take their word for it and go. They are probably more than right. I went to see Dr Johnson. He did the most comprehensive hearing test and check up I have ever had. They dont do hearing test like they used to. He went through every aspect of the test and what they do. He also informed me and what they could help and could not do anything for. He also took the time to answer all of my questions and worked with me through the whole process. He had me come back several times to check my hearing aids adjust them and help me under stand how to get the most out of them. I feel confided that if I have any questions or need more adjustment he will take the time to help me when ever I need it.Dr Johnson also assured me that my standard of living would improve and he was right. My wife and kids where immediately happier because I turn the volume down on every thing and they did not have to repeat every thing. I told a couple of my good customers what I had done and even they where happy. In the end even they said my hearing loss was getting annoying. Now I do not have to strain to understand what people are saying in meetings or one on one.Dr Johnson and the staff at Advanced Hearing Group are the best. I have referred several people to them and will continue to do so.

I visited the Advanced Hearing Group back in August 2017, when I kept hearing small popping noises, and having an ear plugging feeling. My hearing seemed fine, but it reminded me of when I had a full blown fungal infection 2 years prior.What I liked about AHG, is that they offer the curette method, because I have flushed with liquids at home and the doctors offices, but it always is quite uncomfortable and affects my tasting and hearing after.The doctors at AHG are knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable. Turns out that I had a lot of earwax buildup which they quickly and efficiently removed using the curette tool. It was a painless procedure.I just came back from a visit again, Dec 21, 2017, almost 4 months later, as I started noticing a lot of earwax naturally coming out of my ears, and I started feeling a squishy feeling again. Lo and behold I was surprised that I had a significant buildup. Quick and easy removal again.Highly recommend this facilty and group of doctors at Advanced Hearing Group!

I tend to have excessive earwax buildup and my primary care doctor always has trouble removing it, sometimes just making it worse. I figured I would give this place a try, and I am glad I did. For $40 and 20 minutes of my time, I was in and out with clean ears. I would highly recommend this place.
