They deserve no stars they took advantage of me they lied to me they posted deceitful description of the unit being auctioned and just flat out opportunists that would rather be paid to watch a 120 lb girl remove 30 street legal scooters from the storage they stated had an electric scooter AN NOT 30....WEIGH AS MUCH AS I DO. NO WAY TO PREPARE FOR THAT. THE COMPUTER LISTED WAS AN EMPTY TOWER WHICH WAS IN PLAIN SITE OR MAY OF BERN THE 5 LAPTOPS ALSO TORN TO SHREDS ALL WHICH WAS HIDDEN IN ALL PICS. THEN THEY CHARGED MY CARD DAILY THE BALANCE DUE FROM WHO EVER STORAGE IT WAS 373 MORE DOLLARS. I HAD TO PAY STOP PAYMENT CHARGES THE CHARGES NEVER STOPPED AND STILL HAVENT. THEY ROYALY SCREWED ME OVER FINANCIALLY AND KILLED MY DESIRE TO BUY STORAGES. THANKS!

Carl is the very best! Hes so friendly and helpful and kind. Every time we go to unload stuff, hes there with a getting and a big smile on his face. The rental process was super easy - we chose a unit online, signed a lease via email, then went in to the office to finalize everything. The units are secure (you provide your own lock), with wire mesh on top so no one could access without going through the door. The access hours are great, and the provided hand carts are helpful. The facility is always clean and neat. Definitely recommend.

Our favorite storage place by far. Storage Etc offers superb customer service, it is open almost all day (business hours), and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Carl and Eric are gentlemen that are extremely professional and knowledgeable and it shows! Customer service is their mission and they truly care about their customers. The location is perfect and their hours of operation are up to par with working class schedule for San Diegans. The property is immaculate and theres plenty of parking. They even offer complimentary moving dollies and even has an elevator! Thank you again, Carl and Eric!

I just rented a 5x10 unit from Carl at the Sherman Street location and couldn’t be happier.Carl held the unit I wanted for two days with no money upfront, which was awesome, as it was the last unit they had available.The facility is clean as can be and their access hours are amazing, 6:30am - 9pm every day of the year.Thank you Carl, I look forward to growing into a larger 10x10 unit soon.

I absolutely love this storage facility!! This is our 3rd year using them and have nothing but great things to say. It is convenient, flexible, and the managers are amazing. Both Carl and Erik have been blessings in helping us set up our unit and even have offered to help us unload items! They are always willing to help with anything we need which I appreciate. Will definitely continue to come back - could not recommend enough!!

Best place on the Westside of SD. If you want to feel welcome while renting your storage this the is place to go. The staff greets me by name and even assisted me with loading. I feel at home when I come to my unit here at Storage Etc on Sherman ST. P.S Carl is awesome! Whatever and whenever I needed something Carl was right there to accommodate even the small things like opening the bathroom while people unload to collecting the carts that people dont put back, Carl is one of the hardest working guys ive seen there.

I checked out Public Storage before coming to Storage Etc. and it wasnt even close (the customer service was not great and the facility was not nearly as nice/secure). I needed a storage unit for my brothers stuff temporarily and needed to find a unit fast. I checked with a couple other places before Storage Etc. but the person was either not friendly or not there for my business. I decided to stop into Storage Etc. and I was greeted by Erik. He was very friendly and helpful. I wasnt sure about the size of unit I needed so Erik reserved a unit for me until my dad came into town. I will definitely recommend this business to my friends as I loved my experience.

This is a really nice facility. The costumer service is wonderful. I had been speaking with them a month out on my needs and they were very helpful on accommodating me. The facility is very clean with two loading areas to access the units. They also provide carts to help load-in. I feel it is very secure and happy with my decision to go with Storage. Etc.

Found this place by chance, signed up because of the great service and facility. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable (everyone, and especially Erik), the facility is clean and easy to access, they give you free rent on a truck to move your stuff in or out. What else could you ask for? Oh, yeah, the prices and location are good, payment online is convenient. I think that covers it. Great place.

I rented a unit from Storage Etc Sherman St in June. Initially, my sole reason for choosing this storage company over others was the longer access hours. Those extra access hours were incredibly valuable to me because of my tricky moving schedule. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional as I came in and out throughout my move. All storage units are in the same building/facility (to my knowledge), and it was easy to use one of their dollies/carts to transport things from any parking spot in their lot to the entrance. My move in experience was definitely a positive one, and I anticipate that moving out will go just as well!

I love the fact that I can get into my storage unit after work because the access hours are so long. I have no complaints about this place and I recommend it. Storage Etc. was recommended to me by another area real estate broker and I was always pleased with management and the facilities. The ground-level interior hallway access was convenient, clean, and temperature-controlled. Having rented for two-plus years -- at one point, two units -- I was impressed that no dirt was able to seep into the space and my belongings looked as good as the day I brought them.The manager, Mr. Erik Miller is professional, attentive and a true gentleman; and his employees follow suit. I would return to Sherman Street for my storage needs.

Never store your items at this facility! Back in late May two friends and I rented out a storage unit for a month to keep our stuff in before returning back down in San Diego. Upon first renting the unit, the staff forgot to include a key metal part of the lock that kept the storage unit secure. Had we not noticed, our storage unit would not have been secure from the moment we placed our belongings in it. Furthermore, the metal piece that is required to latch onto the unit door prevents you from placing a really secure lock on the unit, so you must also settle for a smaller lock.No more than a week after putting our stuff in the unit, our unit was reported not secure and that the facility had taken measures to secure it. I returned 2 days after the report and attempted to enter my unit. Even though I was on the access list, the employee there would not allow me to enter the unit or take the lock off the unit that had been placed there by somebody else. After hours of back and forth with the employee, I was finally able to see the unit and discovered it had been burglarized. The staff at the facility has been little help following this incident, sending us forms to fill out more than a week after the discovery instead of having us fill them out sooner. Upon speaking with the detective handling our case, she revealed that this facility is hit often with burglaries and that the security camera footage is spotty at best, so there was little hope to catching the suspects.To sum up, this facility should not be used by anyone storing valuable goods.

I had a great experience renting my storage. I got a great rate the best actually in the whole entire area. i rented a 5x5.The manager was great. I think they need more people working there tho. he did a great job. but cant do it all.

I checked out this location before I rented at their other location on Hancock Street. The property manager Erik was very helpful and when he couldnt accommodate the size I needed. He helped me reserve a space at Hancock and I couldnt be happier. Great service.

Told units were climate controlled. They are not. Facility air conditioned? It is not. Customer service was great by phone. But once we got there we were badgered about everything. Told we could park anywhere. I dont care if you park on the moon. Just park and get your stuff in here. I wanna go home. (We were told they close at 6pm. It was 4:15) There werent enough trolleys to haul things upstairs so we had to take some things to our unit to unload in order to use again. He yelled at us for doing that too because the guy said loading doors close at 5:30. (It was 4:45). He wasted more time badgering us about wasting time. My stress level was so high I had to rest(I have an enlarged heart). The guy got frustrated and headed toward our belongings. My son cut him off and told him not to touch our things. If it hadnt been too late to go somewhere else we would have. But my son had just driven 400 miles with a rented uhaul trailer to move me back to San Diego. Needless to say my first day back was less than welcoming. A-1 and Public Storage are in the same area. Cost is slightly more but itll be worth it. Stay away from this place.

After making a reservation online I was treated courteously and promptly at the facility the next day. They have everything I needed and worked to make sign up and unit selection go very smoothly. Have been able to get in and out when I need. Happy Im renting here.

Ive been a tenant here for five years and Ive the best experiences. Management has been wonderful and accommodating, the facilities are clean and functional. Noell , Sunny and Teddy are excellent to work with and I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a safe storage option.

Storage Etc saved me when I was in a bind! I originally planned on having a 10x10 unit at Public Storage around the corner from Storage Etc. It was cheaper at Public Storage BUT its NOT climate control, they do NOT have vertical roller doors in most of their units and it looks like all the CSI crime scenes are filmed there. At Storage Etc, the property is clean and smells divine, the units are easily accessible, the owner is knowledgeable and friendly, it is reasonably priced and I did not have to worry about my stuff being ate up by bugs. That military discount was a plus as well!

The staff has been very communicative, super helpful, kind and resourceful in the midst of a complicated move. The space is clean, spacious and you get great service.

Ive used 4 different storage units in the San Diego area periodically for storing and warehousing commerce restaurant equipment and this has been my best experience by far. Of course storage units tend to be frequented by strange characters but the staff and security measures have made me feel completely safe with my belongings here. You have to check out the pallet loaders, which may sound like a bit of a hassle, but if youve ever had a unit without that system you know a lot of the time you either have to search around the property for 20 minutes to find one or search for 20 minutes to find nothing because someone stole them. This way takes 2 extra minutes and there are always plenty available. Staff is really friendly, knowledgable, and helpful(i tend to ask lots of questions about security, billing, terms, etc.) that made it really easy to get setup. If you need a unit and they have availability Id recommend.

Rip-offs. Employees go through your stuff and sell it on facebook and craigslist. My stuff got ripped of in the 1st couple days. And i prepaid cash for a couple months they didnt give me any credit for

Great storage place

This establishment is very neglectful to consumer safety and from what I have seen is not up to date with city code. The elevators are slow so I searched for a stairwell exit in case of a fire and could not find a single one but fire safety should be discussed during initial unit tour and was not mentioned at all to me or my wife. Drug use on the property is not dealt with and management looks away. No accessible restrooms which is terrible if you have a pregnant woman and/or children around but I have seen many tenants leaving with bottles full of urine which really worries me about sanitation. My wife and I have found multiple baby spiders around the building so there seems to be an infestation issue to be concerned about and to top this experience, there is no trash or recycling on the property. Yeah put all your trash in your moving truck or unit unless you want a harsh greeting from management. I waited to take my business elsewhere to inform future consumers as management seems to be just as untrustworthy as the terrible activity happening in and around the establishment. Fellow consumers, take this into consideration before choosing this location due to price.

This is the first storage unit ive used and it was nothing but a positive experience. Erik who is the property manager went above and beyond to accomodate my needs. They also found out that I put my lock on wrong leaving my things accessible however they performed lock checks and found my lock wasnt put on correctly so they locked it up for me with a secure lock since im out of town. Id highly recommend this company and location.
