I am normally not one to leave a bad review. Its not good for a businesses livelihood to get a bad review out of spite. But buyers please beware! This company should not even be in business! I had one of their transmissions installed at a shop and it was supposed to have a 3-year warranty. The day I picked the truck up I was not even able to drive it nor was I able to drive it for a month and a half after that it would not go over 45 mph. I took it to the shop again and they looked at it and the transmission was bad. Transtar would not warranty their transmission! They claim that I abused the vehicle. Without even knowing me or even seeing me or knowing that I baby my truck more than most old ladies they claim that I abused their transmission. The transmission had less than 500 miles on it and never over 45 miles an hour and it was broken. Dont ever buy from this company it is the worst nightmare there i!!!s

They have really good transmission parts

Would not warrant the 5r110 that was purchased 1yr ago with 4000 miles on the trans, per there questions when setting up the the warrant, is did you hot flush or replace the trans cooler, we did a hot flush and there was very good cooler flow. No where did it state that if the cooler was not replaced there would be no warrant. If a cooler was plugged the trans would have went in the first week of driving the vehicle and it took them 30 days to even say there was no warranty very poor customer service.

Slow customer service, sold me the wrong parts and fluid. Would not recommend.

Literally like the autozone of the transmission world. Been back 4 times cause they can’t get the right part. Back on my 5th run and they have half of the right part. Not even enough cell service here to locate the closest bridge near by.

I would never do business with these guys again. I bought a transmission from them and 9 months later it went out on me. They replaced it under the 3 year/ 100k miles warranty that I purchased. That transmission went out on me last month and they wont do anything with this one. They said the warranty does not start over with the replacement. They dont stand by their warranties and now Im the one left out. I cant get a response from anyone in their corporate offices. If youre going to spend over $4k for a transmission then it should last more than 3 years. Give your money to someones else who stands by their product and will respond to you.

This place is mediocre for parts, but I would never buy another transmission here. Three weeks after buying a transmission from here, two seals failed. I was told it had a 18 month/18,000 mile warranty, so I inquiries about swapping it out. They had me take it to a shop for verification, and the shop found the same thing I did. Transtar said sure theyll warranty it, but I have to pay half the labor since the warranty I have doesnt cover all of it. I called bs since I was the one that originally installed it, so therefore why am I paying for someone else to swap it since Im more than capable? I also added that it was their faulty transmission, not my doing. They continue to argue with me and tell me I should of upgraded the warranty that covered all the labor. I tell them I would of gladly bought that warranty if it was presented to me, but it was never offered. They pretty much told me to pay the labor or Im screwed. So now Im out $400. Not only is this places warranty center a joke, but these local sales reps are too. You can call them all day long and they dont answer their phones. If you can talk to one of the ladies theyll say oh yeah, hes here but I dont know why he isnt answering his phone. They also act like youre burdening them by having them do their job. I would steer clear, youre better off at Six States or even Autozone!Update:After all this, the transmission they sent the shop for warranty was bad out of the box. After dealing with lies from either Transtar and/or the shop, Ive demanded my money back for the transmission. They have complied, but now Im getting my Jeep back in pieces and not driveable. Which isnt the way I dropped it off.

Just bought a valve body from them 3 days ago spend over 500 on oils and mechanic to tell me the valve its bad because it wont shift on reverse. Even the box said *urgent* critical core please return immediately. And they still sold it to me.
