What a great experience. I was greeted when I walked in, but not in a salesperson type of way. They listened intently to my needs and directed me to several options. Both feet were custom measured to ensure accuracy. Once I picked out the style I liked, I was custom fitted, just like the old days. Shops that have this level of service are few and far between. A Proper Fit has my business.

I was really impressed with the service I received here and echo Michaels sentiments. When I visited on a Saturday afternoon, I felt like the only customer in the store and must have tried on close to 15 pairs of shoes before settling on a pair of Alegrias and Birkenstocks. I did not feel rushed or pressured at any point and never judged for choosing sizes slightly smaller than what theyd measured me for. Patience by this staff is an understatement. They even let me use an expired coupon. I will absolutely be returning for future purchases. My go-to in Reno!

Very dissapointed, no stock and terrible customer service, sorry me too. Went home and ordered them direct, why go back?

I am visiting from the east and love Birkenstocks - they are perfect given my neuropathy. I found a great selection of Birkenstocks in my size and very affordable!

Very courteous and accommodating especially during these Covid times. Makes shopping for Birkenstock’s super fast because we can try them on in store. Versus ordering online, trying it on, shipping it back and exchanging, and trying it again. Over a month ordeal of still not finding the right one online, I was able to go in the store, try what’s comfortable, and purchase. All in 15 minutes. The owner was helping me and she was very nice thank you!

A shoe expert measured my feet and even went so far as adding a little wedge under the outside of my left foot. They feel great and the expert service was phenomenal. I highly recommend this place if you have knee or foot issues like I do on my left side.

I have been buying my shoes here exclusively for the past 5 years. Never had an issue. Not sure if there has been a change in management but as of today 6/18/21 , The owner’s son’s severe lack of customer service and extreme rudeness ended my relationship with this store forever.

I bought a tee shirt for my aunt and it didnt fit. She lives in Sacramento and I dont live in the Reno area. The ladies at A Proper Fit went over and above to mail her a different size and returned the one that did not fit through the mail. Their customer service is excellent. I would highly recommend A Proper Fit. I have also bought several pairs of shoes that I have been very happy with. Thank you!!

I visited this store a couple of months ago, and it was the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered in my whole life. The young person who was helping me was incredibly condescending; she continued to patronizingly offer her unsolicited advice, even after I politely mentioned that I have done my research, I have tried many different things, I am familiar with the troubles of my own feet, and I know what I need. Eventually, it seems that she got angry because I was offering my own opinion (or questioning hers) regarding the footwear I need. She basically stormed out and refused service to me. It was - still is - unbelievable how she handled this.

Revolutionary. Not only did I manage to find that rarest of beasts - shoes that fit - the attendant was also the first and only to ever tell us how shoes are *meant* to fit. This changes not only my ability to get shoes that dont damage my feet, but also means shoes I already have fit better. Would recommend this place to anyone.(By the way, I found the advice about heel slip very hard to believe, but it stacks up with advice from podiatrists and my experience since)

They carry both special and quality shoes that are unusually comfortable and durable. For me they took extra care to find the best fit and shoes and boots suitable for long walks. I am very grateful to them for their expertise, care, and service as I am usually hard to fit.

I heard of this place by word of mouth only . I went in and was greeted right away . The lady that helped me find the right boot right away and she was very kind to help me find the right insert for them I told her I cant afford them right now and she still helped me find the right pair . The shim she put in for free . Im a happy camper .

A Proper Fit will not sell you a proper fit. They insisted I wear one size above what I’ve always worn my whole life “because it’s more natural for the foot.” In what universe? My feet were sliding around in the shoes and they insisted it was normal. I made the stupid decision of buying them to try anyway due to the pressure from the sales lady. I wore them for a few hours and was miserable. Had to take them off. Never have I worn a shoe so uncomfortable. When I tried to return them they treated me like a criminal and refused to give me my money back, even though I had the receipt and the shoes were in the exact same condition as when I bought them. What a great way to treat your customers...I won’t be coming back.

I had ordered several pairs of shoes from the internet but returned them because they either didnt fit properly or they were uncomfortable! So I went to several shoe stores in Carson City, NV and then in Reno. They didnt have my size or the right shoe. My last stop was at A Proper Fit. They had wide selection of shoes and my size! Customer service was excellent and the prices were reasonable! All I can say is I shouldve gone there first!

Horrible service Ive worn a size 6 steel toe work boots for years...thought I would try a new place , nope they refused to sell me my size..they tried to put me in a 7 -8 which I could of stepped out of if it wasnt tied to my leg..

They were super rude, I asked a few questions about getting a proper fitting shoe and they answered in a halfhearted uncaring manner clearly indicating they wish I would leave so they could go back to playing with their phone.
