Awesome gear and awesome company. I have purchased items from the Reno retail store as well as online.I was curious about the logo on items I wear and having been asked by a friend, I inquired to the company about their name 511 tactical.Amazingly with in hours I had a reply back from Lisa Castro (a social media coordinator for the company), that the name 5.11 tactical is a tribute to the original founder of the company who was an ardent rock climber.Just as white water rapids are designated by level such as level 4 which is heavy duty rapids as opposed to a level 2, 5.11 Refers to a very difficult level of a specific rock face for climbers.Thanks for taking the time to answer my question Lisa. Now I know. 💪

The guitar store was closed when it was supposed to be open, so I stoppedinto the 5.11 store to browse, they knew about another music store in the area! It was very kind of them to take an interest in helping people even tho it wasnt what they sold there, it really made my day.So, I bought a shirt from their clearance section, its so comfortable and durable that I plan on buying a lot more stuff here.really good folks at five eleven

Ive bought two pairs of cargo type pants from here, theyre pricy but totally worth it. I work in Crime Scene cleaning and decontamination and the pants havent torn, faded or frayed in any way for over a year! No cuts or scratches. Most durable pants ever.

Great place! Always REALLY helpful when Im looking for something. I go at least once a month to pick up a shirt or pants. Great selection of rugged clothing including boots. They have a wide variety of random items too, like bags, holsters, shoe/boots, and for you patch collectors they have a decent selection. Overall a great place and Im highly satisfied.

Paola (not sure of the spelling) was extremely helpful in assisting me with purchasing pants for work. Knowing nothing of what I needed, besides black pants, she was knowledgeable and answered my many questions. She was personable and I will be returning and hope she is there to help with my next purchase!

Always fun to shop here. Staff friendly and very knowledgeable, answers any question you have, gives recommendations. There isnt a whole lot of selections for petite sizes, its a hit or miss. Overall great place to shop.

Stopped in to get somethings and check out the store. Didnt get anything because the guy behind the counter went out front to talk on the phone for at least 10-15 minutes. Thats finally when I got fed up and left. Horrible service and Im going to be sure to tell everyone not to go to 5.11 in Reno.

This place is awesome with really good tactical female pants which was nice to find a size that fits. However I was a little disappointed that there were no female tactical steel toe boots otherwise definitely be back again. Staff was very friendly.

Some really great gear here. Good variety of tactical tools plus clothing. Loved the fit of what we tried on in their pant section... Very nice choices in their shirts and sweater selection as well. We received friendly service and the store is well organized and clean.

Perfect for any outdoor enthusiasts or hard working individuals that need tougher clothing/more pockets in pants. The prices were high, but the quality is worth the pay. They do run a little small. I exchanged a pair of pants and it was no hassle at all.

Absolutely first class experience. Shame on me for not visiting this store sooner. I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted, and walked out with even better suggestions from the staff. Price point is high but never an issue with me, I invest in clothing that is well built and lasts a long time. I am thrilled about having this store in Reno! Well done 5.11, well done.

Let me preface the review. I’ve been a 5.11 consumer for as long as I can remember and the product doesn’t disappoint. I have over 2 decades of customer service experience, so the only reason I rated it so low was because of the management. I won’t mention him by name, but his customer service was heinously subpar. Extremely rude when I asked a single question and it was a simple yes or no, as if I was twisting his arm. I wish I could rate it five stars, Mike is the best and he remembers me every time I come in! So five stars for Mike and the 5.11 brand. Zero stars for the manager.

Go in with a clear mind, don’t act or seem suspicious. You will garner attention. Perhaps its a given that all shoppers are shoplifters. The less you look and touch the better. Apparently all the storeworkers are LE or LE wannabes. BLUF it’s a different experience.

Visiting the 5.11 store in Reno is always a pleasure. Our greater region abounds in opportunities for hiking and other outdoor recreation and the store is a good fit. Long days in our extraordinary backcountry can present variables of temperature and weather, altitude and topography, safety and recreation, and need for hydration. I find that being ready for these variables means carrying an assortment of items and accessories and having ready access to them on the trail.A lot of hikers their carry items in a conventional sleek and fashionable looking daypack and spend a lot of time taking it off and rummaging through it looking for items needed on the trail. And a lot of outdoor clothing skimps on pockets or uses pockets poorly designed for comfortable carry. This is where 5.11 really shines. I think it is the military/tactical mindset. Have what you need readily at hand, not buried in a daypack. With 5.11 Molle pouches, belts, packs and other gear, and pants with plenty of well designed pockets, it is easy to carry what you need or might need comfortably in a way that it can be accessed immediately on the trail.On my last visit to 5.11, Ben was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, without being pushy, highlighting subtle but important differences in material and design of different lines of the 32W x 34L pants I was looking at, to help maximize performance for the application and season. In most stores, I have trouble finding my size, but in the 5.11 store they had a large and well organized range of all sizes, colors and models of pants suitable for the backcountry.

Love this store for great practical clothing for exercising both in and outdoors.
