I went yesterday to see if they had a pair of body glove shoes but they did bot.. Had to wear a mask no problem.. Store was not busy but my needs were not filled. Guess I will look somewhere else. Or go to amazon. I was hoping to buy local but I also do not want to go now to other stores bc of covid. Might do without those now bc of the covid. No one in store. They had lots of stuff just not what I needed.

Supper cool staff nice folks helpful and polite happy to help and answer questions sketchy part of town but the store is well stocked with tons more stuff then the Gresham store well worth making the trip

We went to one that had almost everything we were looking for. Then we went to one that had next to othing we were interested in! Needless to say, we went back to the first one to make our purchases.

Staff was somewhat helpful, they knew where product was but didnt know details.

Was looking for some sports tape. I called & talked to Jediah on the phone he was very helpful & he knew what I was looking for. He had used the tape before. Not busy, a pleasant shopping experience! Great selection of shoes on sale. Everything you need for your sports! Shop local! Keep our neighborhood businesses open.

Good place to get a tent and bb guns or real guns if thats what your into me I dont play with real guns anymore my mom berried them in the ground I cant shoot them anymore lol

This store is larger and more spacious than the one on 82nd and they have a good sized parking lot that is not shared with other businesses. They did not have what I was looking for, but Erika found a store where I could get it and called them to reserve it for me. She went out of her way to make sure I could get what I was shopping for and made it a pleasant experience, so I want to give her a shout out. The other people who helped me while I was shopping were very helpful and friendly also. I would shop here again.

Only bought three things and two of them I got charged more than the sticker price. Looks like Ill be going back soon to get the money they overcharged. Its been almost seven year since the last time I went to big 5 and it will probably be that long before I go back.

I wont buy shoes anywhere else really, they have good selection and really great prices.

This place is a joke, great items, and price but customer service was very poor, I have never seen anything like it. Including the manager at the front. I was asking one of the employees about the boxing punching bag since the little price paper says ask the salesperson about the items. However, the salesperson had no idea what he was doing there because every time I ask him about the sports equipment he would like this is all I have, I dont know, etcMan, just leave the place if you dont want to be there. Guess what? I will not come back again.P.s I wish there is 0 stars. You dont even deserve to get 1.

Customer service could have been better!. I was told that the item I wanted was across from the check out register after showing them the picture. EVERYTHING was locked so if it was there someone would have to still walk over to unlock it! Why not just walk over to see if it was there?

We loved our experience today. The store was clean the staff was friendly. Haylee helped us search for a tank top. All around the visit was a success, finding bubbles and a hacky sac were just todays bonus.

Got there 3-4 minutes before it opened and there were at least 4 others standing outside waiting to get in as well. When 10 o’clock hit, the worker came and unlocked the door, didn’t even open it, how nice and great customer service of hers right? my friends and I went on with our shopping. When I saw an item I liked, I wanted to make sure if it was on sale because I had seen it on sale at another BIG 5 location. I asked Clair (the employee) and she disrespectfully responded “ well it’s right there” (referring to price tag) and then as she scanned it, it WAS on sale and it DID NOT say so on the price tag or have a sign up saying so. and then the other worker who was working beside her while this whole situation was going on, accuses us of stealing and then decides to go post on social media about it

Employees didnt seem to care and they had issues keeping their masks on even at the register and entrance.

Went for a bunch of floaties. In 90° weather with 100°s coming...Found exactly what I wanted when everyone else was sold out. They had 5 different floaties to choose from, and we bought 1 of each. ☆☆☆☆ cuz everyone has room for improvement!!!

They do have everything in terms of sporting goods. Employees are helpful but a little on the harassing side if you let them. Place is never busy. Prices are a bit spendy but not too bad. Return policy is great, no questions asked as long as you have a receipt

First off. Open today.Many places have webpage saying open then after driving there NOT OPEN.At big 5 they are open. Staff members are polite and personable.... as well very helpful...getting displayed item down to demonstrate and actually answering questions about the product also comparable items. Great experience

Big 5 is my go-to place for just about any sporting goods item. Started along time ago with darts, then I saw their clearance shoes. Started a habit of coming regularly for fishing gear, ammo and some affordable shotguns, 22s and air-soft stuff.

Second tent I bought from here, this is not the place to buy tents. Zipper started off broken. First tent was worse. Other items are ok, just not tents. Keep your receipt if you buy a tent!

Still have some basics and glad they have not closed.

Guy who helped me in the shoe section was awesome he did all he could to help out

Sorry but the customer service here in the shoe department was awful. The guy had to keep coming back to us asking which shoe and size, then we asked them if another store had what we were looking for, they checked and said no. Guess what we found them at another store.

Big 5 has decent prices and selection. You can find discounted name brand shoes and apparel. Plus camping, fishing, water sports gear etc. Not as much choice as other sporting goods stores but I appreciate that its quick and easy to shop here.

Decent deals to be had

Being a Corporate Manager in retail I am very disappointed when I enter another retailer and have an extremely poor experience. This case is likely a lack of training, but still was very disappointing. I was in the area and planning on looking at new baseball gloves so I stopped by the Big 5 on SE stark. I had to use the restroom bad so I asked a female employee if they had a restroom, as I did not see one. She pointed to her Manager Jason and I asked him.He looked at me in a very confrontational way and said are you shopping here too in a very unfriendly voice. My reaction was I was planning on it. He radioed someone to let me in the bathroom. At that point not only did Jason cost a likely sale he likely lost a customer for life. After finishing I made the decision to not spend my money at Big 5, which I have in the past.After looking at the situation I understand the area Jason works in and the clientele who ask to use the restroom on a daily and use drugs, etc... With that being said when a person who is dressed nice and asked to use the restroom you may just want to let them use your restroom. I understand that Jason does not represent the entire company, but that is enough for me to at least spend my money elsewhere.

Convenient hours.I needed a new pair of running shoes, as my last ones were roughly 5 years old, bought second hand, And after awhile they caused me blisters.Finally decided it was definitely time to get a new pair of running shoes, I originally was going to go to the mall(lloyd center) but after seeing the big 5 ads in the paper, I decided to go there.And man, Am I glad I did.I got a Brand New pair of Fila memory foam running shoes for 20$ or 25$ (With my coupon from the ads.)Original retail price was around 80$!!!!SCORE!!!

I went here to buy some camping gear and was not disappointed. They have great prices on outdoor gear. They have a decent selection of Coleman camping gear as well as some other brands that seem like good quality but I hadnt heard of. I ended up buying a couple tents and some camping chairs because they were on sale for a very good price. I tried price comparing online after I bought them and couldnt find a better deal. Im happy with my purchase.

Not sure if they even try to help youI walked in and asked a simple question. Well i got a simple unhelpful answer. No we dont carry those this was in reference to a rifle magazine. They sell the rifle but not any additional mags. Nor did the gentleman even try to suggest where i can go.

Ive always been a fan of this place for all sports gear BUT was a little disappointed that track season barely started and they sold out of track shoes. They did offer to show me the ones they have online & that they would ship it for free to my home or the store. But I couldnt wait 1 week for those so I went elsewhere.Other than that, a lot of parking and employees are usually very friendly and helpful.Will definitely be coming back for football season. 👍

The staff is pretty nice but theyre not good at giving good information. I was looking for a inner tube and some patches and they didnt seem to know the right kind or what I needed to have to float a certain River. I had to do the research myself. I wont be back unless I really need someday and its convenient. Id rather shop on Amazon or go to REI

The shoes that i had wanted didnt have any of them in my size but the floor person had a similar pair but higher price but sold them to me for the price that the pair that wasnt available. $24. Terrible service, confusing layout, lack of inventory, and some of the rudest employees ever.

This chain sporting goods store has never steered me wrong. I wouldnt say they offer highly specialized equipment, but theres affordable, basic equipment for pretty much any sport. Like many Big 5 shops, they have several tables stacked with shoes, basic camping gear, guns, and seasonal sport gear.

Excellent customer service but they forgot I was waiting and there was nobody else they were helping my overall experience was great besides the slowness

The store was clean , parking is roomy and plenty of shade (on a hot day its a plus), the product was at the advertised price and the advertised price was honored but I did have to ask the cashier more than once to please scan it and it was met with an annoying stare at me and when asked what the difference between the many types the answer came theyre different types! Purchased a shotgun from this location and received nothing but top notch customer service. The manager I worked with on 3/20/18 took care of me and gave me great options when a few small hang-ups surfaced. Extremely smooth purchasing experience, got me a great deal and the gentleman was very friendly and effective at his job. My advice for big 5: give that manager a promotion! Thanks guys for the awesome customer experience. I will be purchasing with this location in the future and recommending it to all of my friends and family!

I dont know how this place is even still in businesses. There were no customers in the building when I was there. And, neither of the kids working even came to see if I needed any assistance. They were far too busy having their own personal conversation. I would avoid this location if you can.

I grew up going to Big 5 in California in the 1970s, and its always been my go-to place for sporting goods. This store had what I wanted in shoes, they had someone to help me, they werent overly busy, and the store wasnt trashed. The prices were reasonable too, which leads me to believe sadly, that theyll be next on The Chopping Block of store closures as people flock to Amazon. I shop here and at the one on Foster whenever I can, because I dont want to see them close.
