Rooz means day in farsi. The owner is a very cool man and his whole team especially the warm young man who greets you — is a gem in Oakland culture. Not to mention the drinks are dirt cheap and delicious. They know their craft having been in Oakland for over 30 years ( the owner)I recommend their sandwiches. Especially the pesto egg.Do yourself a favor and visit. They have great ambiance, service and food.

Super Friendly service, very fresh ingredients, they receive their breads daily from House of bagels in Alameda – the owner is Iranian and very accommodating. It is a very clean space and has outdoor seating. Highly recommend.

Awesome folks behind the counter, tasty sandwiches, and excellent coffee. And during non COVID times, the best coffee shop ambiance featuring local art, the occasional soccer game, and good tunes.

Total hit or miss, but usually hit. 3 orders of food and the last order will always take 20+min... However prices are great for what you get, although Ive had the bfast sandwiches 20x and every. Single. Time. They have been somewhat different. Not a complaint tho, its always good. Coffee game is solid.

I recently moved in the neighborhood and I was happy to see that there is a nice cafe near by. I tried to get coffee twice before today but the hours on google were not aligned with the actual working hours (because of COVID). Ok, I understand that not everybody cares about this.Today I arrived at the place and a guy greets me upfront saying - I am sorry we are closed. I was confused... What time do you close?! 3PM he answers. Wait, what time is it? 2:50 he replies... I look at my phone and I say - its actually 2:43... Anyway, I walked back home. Took the car and drove downtown and order a coffee at Blue Bottle. I looked at my phone when I ordered and it was 3:00, and got my coffee by 3:02.I guess what I am trying to say is - updated your hours and if you wanna close at 2:40 say you work until 2:40. I get it is COVID time and everyone is on the edge, none wants to work. But be honest. Dont waist my time too.

This place is a great local establishment. The people are super friendly and the coffee is good. Also they have a screen that they pull down to show games. Lately theyve been showing a lot of the world cup, so thats awesome. Also watched the Warriors sweep the Cavs here.

Great sandwiches and breakfast. Mimosas come in a beer glass and have just a hint of OJ. Yummy and cheap! Interesting beer selection. Tried a beer made from tea and it is the best beer Ive tasted.

Theres plenty of seating and outlets available for laptops. However, the wifi isnt free. You have to purchase something first, which isnt such a bad thing because the food options are pretty good. Overall, nice atmosphere with interesting art displayed on the walls. If you sit near the door you feel a draft though. So bring a sweater or perhaps a jacket in with you just in case.

Cute neighborhood coffee shop, with a very warm and welcoming barista who will improvise a special smoothie for you. The cappuccino, although not masterfully prepared, did taste good (and was not Starbucks - scalding hot!). Interisting art on the wall gives the place its unique flavor. Good background music, not too loud or intrusive. Perhaps just a bit dark.

This is an awesome place to get some pints in before your second wind . Great spot to watch the game (fifa world cup 2018) . Great Beer on tap!Sandwiches are hot & fresh, the way they should be. Plenty of space , great coffee and service. If youre taking a break from your jog around the lake, make a detour down to the rooz cafe to get refreshed and re energized.Come by this place while waiting for your laundry to dry across the street and grab a beer on tap, you deserve it.Dont feel like Mexican food? Come down to get a hand made , fresh hot sandwich.Dont have a place to watch the game? Slide thru.Feel like decorating your home? This place also showcases/ supports local art.Trying to get some work done on your laptop but your roommates are annoying? Come on down. This place even serves smoothies!
