My personal favorite.The coffee is full or fragrant yet not a single taste of bitter.There are come out door chairs you could seat at and enjoy the coffee.Easy to find parking around.

Lovely place to get coffee. They have many locations all over the Bay Area, but it’s always nice to visit one in new areas. Due to covid, they are practicing very safe policies such as asking you if you want to include a tip, and a plastic shield.

Great place to get your coffee fix in Oakland. Service is very friendly and the aroma of coffee embraces you as soon as you walk in. It’s a small place so not much room to sit. Got the hojicha latte (aka roasted matcha) with low fat milk and it was marvelous. Highly recommend.

This was my first and last time visiting. After waiting nearly 15 minutes for my basic coffee order, and after watching three groups who ordered after me get served, I attempted to politely check on the status of my order. I should mention that I was on the way to visit family in the hospital and didn’t want to be late.Having worked in the service industry for 10+ years, and having served my fair share of coffee myself, I know the difference between an impatient person being rude during a rush, and someone who’d been waiting patiently, checking on their order out of concern.The response I got from the person passing out coffee was so unnecessary dismissive and curt in front of the other customers, that I’m actually taking the time to write a review when I NEVER leave negative reviews. Coffee was delicious, but not good enough to overshadow that awful service experience.

Consistently great experiences at Blue Bottle, both here in the bay area and also in the heart of New York City. I guess it might’ve just been a slower afternoon or something but didn’t get the most exciting experience during this special stop to where it all began. Will definitely try to come back soon and pick up decaf beans which unfortunately at that time they were all out of, even in the back. I did appreciate the seltzer water with my espresso. The little Blondie pastry displayed a nice chewy texture on top of its beautiful golden exterior. Good combination!

I signed up for a coffee tasting class. you can sign up through the website but the time and dates are very limited. The one our class went through the process of smelling the coffee, adding water and inhaling the coffee and lastly slurping the coffee. They taught us about the different tastes that we should expect and how they come to describe the flavors of their coffee beans.After the one-hour class we grab some coffee. I really do like their iced coffee. Im not one who likes using straws but you kind of have to with the iced coffee. I am glad that Blue Bottle Coffee uses compostable straws.

The tomato danish here is delicious!! It was honestly the best danish I’ve ever had in my life. The caffe mocha was good also, a little less sweet than I prefer but very smooth and strong.

This is my favorite blue bottle location. They do all of the roasting for the bay area. The brand served and for sale in bags are rarely more than a couple days old. They also have a teaching room where they offer free public cupping and other instructional classes.

Enjoy local coffee at the peak of its flavor at Blue Bottle. Blue Bottle is expanding, but this Webster St location opened in 2009. On Sundays, theres free public coffee tastings and a How to Brew series.

The food is not great (much better coffee shop food item options all around Oakland) and the coffee is alright. The pricing is not justifiable. Cant think of any reason why Id want to visit again.

No complaints except for the green tea taste like grass everything else is wonderful though, including the service and the people.

Blue bottle used to be my 1st choice for cappuccino, taste sooo good and smooth...but when they reopen after pandemic earlier, something was changed. flavor is still good, but the smoothness was all gone... not sure it is caused by milk quantity changed, new barista, brewing technique/method changed, or what. Anyone else notice it? or it is just me being too picky?

One of the better chain blue bottles. Staff is always friendly & the drinks are made pertty much the way you order them.

There is a line for mobile pick up and a line to order in person. There was no body ahead of us for both line when we arrived. They took care of all the mobile orders first. We waited for 10 minutes and still did not get a chance to order. We left without ordering.

My favorite coffee shop! The staff is always super kind and the coffee always on point! I usually get the New Orleans with oat milk, my fav! But their cappuccinos are good aswell! I highly recommend the waffle too.

I’m giving them 2 stars because I was really turned off by the fact that they charge an extra dollar to make your latte iced.It makes no sense - it’s more effort to steam the milk.That and the no WiFi thing.Coffee quality is also subpar in my mind.

I mean... Its blue bottle. The coffee tastes good but it does come with a little self loathing.

Overrated. I have had better coffee at hotels. Over priced. The drink was not hot enough either; coffee is generally served hot not luke warm. Maybe this is considered good coffee in Oakland, but it would be gas station swill in Chicago. Will not be returning.

Still a great spot for a Blue Bottle fix. This is an older location across the tracks from Jack London Square but worth looking for if you are in the area. The tasting training area has moved to the downtown location and I could not tell if the warehouse was still active. So there is a new edgy vibe created with locals, techies and OPD frequenting. For a different but still familiar Blue Bottle experience, go and order a cup.

Blue bottle is well organized for covid management. Stand in line to the left. Wait on the right. Preorder on app if you like and wait to the left. They will ask who in line preordered. Same great coffee, just takes a little longer than before.

I dont give 1 star lightly, but this was the worst coffee Ive had in my entire life. It was incredibly bad. I ordered a decaf espresso, and I dont know what went wrong, but it had this sour, burnt taste. It was execrable, and I couldnt get past the first sip. The person I was with also tasted it and immediately gagged.I told the girl who was working that the coffee was bad and she looked at me like Id done something wrong. I then said that it was the worst coffee Id had in my life -- which was true -- and she told me that I didnt need to be like that. I didnt want a replacement coffee or anything -- it was so bad, I just wanted to get the heck out of there. My friends coffee was also poor, but nothing on this -- we were talking about the horrendous taste the rest of the day, as it just wouldnt leave our mouths. Gross. And the girl who made it/gave me attitude needs to seriously check herself.

Watching this chain grow over the past ten years on visits to the bay area, no doubt remains, this is the finest machiatto in the United States. Period. I guess they have other stuff, but seriously that duplo is the only thing crossing my mind when I click past the $131 flight. Outside shops just havent got the chops. And I have been looking

Gotta love the consistency of this franchise. Tried them for first time in Chelsea NY and saw that they were in Oakland and had to try and was not disappointed. Loved that the look of the establishment was consistent as was the ambience, service, vibe and most importantly flavor of coffee was awesome!! Thanks ladies!!!

Great coffee. A little pricy.

Ive always liked going to this location. It is small so it can get small quick while waiting in line and/or waiting on your order. There is plenty of outdoor seating, which is always nice on a good day. Coffee is always good with a nice pastry selection.

Authentic macchiatos, which is more of an expresso shot than a latte. Starbucks has people spoiled.

I think I know coffee. This is the first day of my SF holiday and Ive just drunk the best espresso I have ever tasted. Blue bottle coffee. Also with lovely ginger scones. What a start to the day!

Great cold brew

Uh-may-zing. The coffee is always exquisite and unmatched, probably consistently the best espresso drinks Ive had (and I drink multiple daily from many different shops). Not really a coffee shop, just a bar to sit at inside and tables outside, but what is there is elegant. Very high end hipster, but if youre into that sort of this, Blue Bottle cant be beaten.

Good beverages, unfortunately theres always a long waiting line. The drinks are reasonably priced and the coffee doesnt taste like burned beans like Starbucks. I wish they would have more pastry selections. Overall a pretty good local coffee shop I gladly support.

Food and coffee wise, the place is pretty good. It is small, standing only inside, and some seating outside. I suggest just grabbing something to go and take it to waterside to enjoy.Pending on what time Im the day you go, you might want to be careful. It is in a warehousing district so you will be be trying to avoid workers loading/unloading in the early morning as you try to drive to the place.

Ive been to multiple Blue Bottle locations (my favorite location is in San Mateo) and I guess I showed up on an off-day because the baristas were more interested in talking to each other rather than making two drinks on a very slow day. I had to go up to one of the baristas to let them know that I never received my cold brew after my boyfriend got his iced mocha. I found it weird considering I always get my cold brew before inserting my card for payment. Other than that, theres limited seating inside the space.

Coffee is strong and delish. The price is moderate. Make sure to try a pastry or sandwich. Portions are smaller but the price is worth the flavor and worth the wait time. About 5 minutes max and specialty items.

The coffee was great, people were very friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting. After my first trip there I noticed that they were hosting a free cupping class the next day so I signed up. The class was taught by their head barista and was extremely informative for those wondering what makes great coffee great. These folks know their coffee and are not pretentious about it.

I love Blue Bottle coffee but this place closes 30 minutes too early during the week. I work in Downtown Oakland and can never make it here after work to buy beans since they close at 5:30pm. Wish they could open up their tasting room for seating because theres never enough.

Really great specialty coffee. Nice store and clean place. Seems like a great place to grab a coffee at lunch but not great for cozy chat with friend. Good place to try if youre looking for something new.

Fantastic coffee in Oakland. Was open early - and made a great Double Short Americano. Also - tried quite a bit of the food. Croissants and other baked good were solid. In a fun industrial area by the ocean.

The flagship storefront is small but the location is rustic and the lines always seem to move quickly. There are also a few savory and sweet items to accompany your freshly made cup. The New Orleans iced coffee is also a great treat when you want to try something new.

The coffee quality is consistent with other blue coffee location. Not a lot of area to sit down and enjoy your coffee but you can probably walk to the pier and sit. There is a coffee tasting class that you can take at this location, you can find it online.

Coffee is good but the wait time is very long. Be aware.

A San Francisco classic, now in Oakland. A great place to grab a cup of coffee (duh). Although the real attraction here is the coffee cupping. Come early and check it out. It is a great way to learn what makes blue bottle so special.

The original, at least on the East side of the bridge (and excluding the farmers market). What can you not love. If youre in the area, like quality coffee, and friendly, knowledgeable baristas (and like to show them some appreciation) this is definitely worth a shot (pun intended)

Love this spot in waterfront/wharehouse area of Jack London Square. Great range of coffees, friendly staff and corner location promise a fun or relaxing visit. Nice spot for a post run coffee.

I really like this place, but I think lately it has gone a bit downhill. My cappuccino today was over-aerated and pretty lack luster in the way of taste. The baristas were not very friendly either. 😕

Its a good place with fresh coffee. But the service is lacking. A few weeks ago, a guy ahead of me in line bought over $400 worth of beverages for a construction crew. There was something else he wanted that they didnt have. The BB guy at the counter said that he should try the uptown location. The customer asked for the phone number, and the BB guy said he didnt have it and that he (the customer) should Google it. I found that pretty absurd given the order this guy just put in.

Always nice staff that has the just the right amount of snooty, but welcoming. Customers who support this location are for the most part pleasant and social. Sometimes long lines and wait for your coffee, but thats what you get when BB is what you want.

You all are a model for keeping up quality even when the company expands. Always a pleasure. Loved my Fruity Pebbles Ethiopian shot.

Its overpriced, like everything in the bay, but their coffee was some of the best Ive had outside of Ethiopia, coffees country of origin. They dont give information about who they buy from. I kind of feel like for what theyre charging, theyre probably buying from some Fair Trade operation, but its not clear if they do,and thats why they charge so much, or if theyre just straight up ripping people off.

The best espresso in SF Bay Area! Even better than other Blue Bottle locations. Ive been there 5 or 6 times and espresso was consistently very good. I also like their ginger cookies.

I have tried multiple coffee places in the area, this by far my favorite. I just tried bella donovan and it is pretty good standard coffee. The place is lovely in the morning, very curious to try out their coffee tasting events

Its just the best latte hands down. The espresso is not bitter or acidic. The milk is smooth and not scorching hot.

Wanted some good coffee in the morning. Was near Blue Bottle. The place has no indoor seating, only outdoor seating. The place is really clean and minimalistic. I ordered a low acidic coffee and ham and cheese sandwich. I was offered one of their cans of iced coffee grown by one bean variety. The coffee was fine. It wasnt too acidic. However, the sandwich was only ok. The bread was very dry. I would give this place 3*, but add .5* to a total of 3.5*.

Very simple menu and the service was very friendly and calm. I ordered the traditional egg breakfast which came with my choice of meat, so I opted for the chorizo sausage. It was very good and the eggs were scrambled perfectly.

Good coffee. Great location; right off Jack London Square. Not too options to choose from, but if you like your coffee plain, this is your spot.

So happy if found this place. Just up the street from the farmers market at Jack London Sq. The people are great. Highly recommend you forget the paper cup and go ceramic.
