ATTENTION FOODIES!!! Incredible, rotating menu according to ingredient availability. The chef takes a great deal of time in preparing his menu and it shows. Never had a bad experience in this cozy restaurant. Staff is wonderful as well. Wine and beer only, but that’s more than okay.

The atmosphere is super chill. I sat at the kitchen and these guys LOVE the food they serve you. They don’t miss a detail and you can taste it! Meticulous recipes and presentation. I will be back again

Holy moly, their burgers are amazing! I ordered it on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed. Next time Im there itll be a hard decision if I get the burger again or try one of the other awesome sounding entrees. Planning on dining in? Consistently has the best food in all of Virginia and the price is well worth what you get. Always make a point to visit when Im in the area and always order extra dishes as everything they offer is amazing. Been going to LeGrand since I moved back to VB 5 or 6 years ago. The people, the food, its great! Their menu usually rotates, so its hard to recommend a specific item. However, its a restaurant I recommend checking out because I love the creativity behind it and definitely does not lack flavor. Some items are a bit heavier than my liking, but everyone has their preferences. My go-to item is the chicken sandwich, my friends would recommend the reuben or the burger.

They have the best $10 you can find. We also had the pimento cheese app. I prefer my pimento cheese to be a little more pimento-y, but it was still good. Their take on Bread pudding was also a bit different than I expected, but still really good. The staff was very pleasant and the place was very clean.

Ordered takeout, drove 15 minutes there and back, and the food remained delicious despite a flash flood affecting the low-lying property.Koji aged duck breast with truffle and peach sauce sided with a delicate pillow of crispy risotto and a lima bean and chantrelle mushroom medley.Roasted peach and heirloom tomato salad.Their take on a smores dessert was delicious and the picture doesnt do the chocolate mousse topped with a layer of crushed pretzels, Graham crackers, and a dollop of toasted sweet cream.

Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Very nice place that changes the menu once a week. Clean, food is made on order, fresh and plenty of variety. I highly recommend.

A must-visit in this area! The menu is limited and rotates often which might be annoying to some and reservations are only through email. However, once you select a menu option its guaranteed to be tasty and unique. The workers there were super friendly and accommodating to our group.

Their truffle Buffalo bluecheese chicken sandwich was delicious. I was expecting the Buffalo sauce to overpower the entire sandwich but everything went so well together.

Amazing little place with super friendly staff. The pimento toast was simple and delightful! The Lamb has was packed with flavor and was super filling. The pork shoulder with sweet potato puree was amazing, I wanted to lick the plate. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. The menu changes with the season and I think thats great!

First visit, last night, for dinner, and heres the 411: great menu, good short simple wine list of good choices (beer choices looked good, too), good clean fresh food, cooked to perfection--no limp lettuce or rubbery scallops or raw beef here--and beautifully plated, enormous portions, wonderful hospitality and service, and to our thinking well priced. We loved our food and enjoyed looking at the food being served to people around us, who were also wowed first-timers. Appears to us that Legrand Kitchen is worthy of its reputation.

The food is ok, but not worth the price. Our waiter was awesome but the rest of the staff was not engaging at the chefs counter. The oyster mushroom toast was more mayo than mushroom and our halibut was over cooked. The white beans and bok choy were perfectly cooked and the only reason for the 3 stars.

As always, every. single. bite. was simply amazing. LeGrand not only never disappoints, it always makes me ask why we dont come here every time we eat out.

The hamburger was medium cooked to perfection with sassy sauce that complimented the beef juices. Endive beet salad was disappointing, no flavor even with orange slices. Lemon pie was also bland, expecting more of a lemon flavor. Will order other sides and dessert with my hamburger next time!!

I love this place & if I am able to travel back to Norfolk I will certainly return. The kitchen is transparent & its engaging to witness the making of your food before you receive it. I had the Lamb Stroganoff as my main course & several other tastings. Everything is made with passion, its original, and fairly priced. A wine pairing was recommended & it was a memorable, satisfying adventure. I visited in February of 2020 before life became different for everyone; especially for small, and authentic businesses. Very reluctant to dine out during the pandemic, so imagine my delight to see two picnic tables at a respectable distance in front of the restaurant, and just in time for our anniversary. The meal was a delight, and the service was great, we even stuck around for dessert. Give them a try for outside dining or takeout, you wont be disappointed.

Gyros here were unbelievable. Take out order was easy to arrange. 10/10 recommend for dine in or take out during these times.

My whole party loved their food. I got the hangar steak with pear, peanuts, grilled cauliflower, and nuoc cham Vietnamese sauce and it was to die for. I also recommend the fresh made doughnuts with pecan toffee and chocolate sauce. We will definitely be back

I like pizza, I like bagels, I like hot dogs, with mustard and beer... Ill eat eggplant. I could even eat a baby deer... But I would rather eat at LeGrand Kitchen. Every Meal Ive had there has been simply wonderful. The staff is very friendly, Ive never gotten anything but 5 star service from here. The food is awesome. With a constantly changing menu, you really should be going here at least once a month. The burger is a staple on the menu and is always a solid choice. The Big Marty bun REALLY makes a difference. Ive had burgers near and far, and its the best one. Follow them on instagram, youre gonna love what they have to offer. I guarantee it.

Did curbside pickup for dinner last night. The food, shrimp and corn bisque and double patty burgers, was excellent. Our order was ready when we arrived and the server that brought the order out was super friendly and professional. Thank you!

I was pretty underwhelmed by the take out service. While they definitely met all the cdc protocols the food was pretty soggy by the time we got home. (About a 20 minute drive) I think they need to rethink their packaging for takeout for individuals who spend almost an hour round trip to treat themselves to their food.

When I walked in, I thought to myself, What a cute little hole in the wall. One glance at the menu and I thought, The menu looks upscale, lets see if theyll deliver. I got the cheese burger and I can honestly say that it was the very best burger Ive put in my mouth. The chocolate mousse was to die for! Everything was well-thought out and I found out that they get all of their ingredients local. You can feel the love and passion in the owner/head chefs food.

The menu is upscale. The food was well prepared. The service was friendly. On the downside, the non-alcoholic beverage selection was lacking. No iced tea for the meal and no coffee to have with dessert.

I have never been disappointed here. The place is small so I recommend going early or on a day with nice weather so you will be comfortable waiting outside. I promise the food will be worth it and the wait staff is super friendly. Definitely add this to your list of restaurants to check out.

This is our favorite Norfolk restaurant. We have been going since it opened and have never had a bad experience. The food is amazing. The staff are helpful. The environment is warm and inviting. There are always interesting farm to table options. You have to be willing to try new things, but your courage is generally rewarded. The hamburger is the best Ive ever had and can easily be shared as an appetizer or for desert. The one draw-back we have found is that the actual desserts are often mediocre/underwhelming. Nonetheless, we go back often and love it and will continue on a regular basis.

Today i was served some steak that was past its prime, it tasted like it should have been tossed 2 days ago to me. my friend ordered the same dish and had the same issue as well.Im really disappointed. In the past when Ive dined here everything has been fantastic. though now i dont know that ill get a good experience when i come here. This may have just been a fluke. but when im spending this much money for food i expect a consistently good experience. Being good 90% of the time may be good enough for apple bees but it doesnt cut it at a restaurant like this.I dont think Ill ever come back here. my experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth figuratively and literally.

Great food in a wonderfully beautiful old building. Worth a visit if you are looking for something other than chain restaurants. The Calamari might have been the best I ever had and the broiled seafood platter was very good.

Visited for the first time tonight and we will definitely be back. We sat at the counter- the restaurant is very small- with a firsthand view of the food preparation. It was fun to watch the cooks prepare our food, seeing each ingredient go in and anticipating its impact on the flavor. This was probably one of the best meals Ive eaten in my life and Ive traveled extensively. Treat yourself to the chocolate pot du creme to finish off your meal. You will not regret it.

Would go back again and again. The menu is innovative without being fussy or complicated. Small but not overly so, you wont notice the people around you. The open kitchen is fun to watch but the star is the food, local and well composed it shows the chefs and cooks care about what they do. The service is very good, not too much attention not too little, that is a sign of a fantastic waitstaff. Will be back.

A delicious choice. We were celebrating a Masters graduate and we were not disappointed. Wonderful,caring service. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. It was great fun watching the preparation of our order. We had haddock, gnocchi, shrimp and grits. Soooooo good!!!

Incredible meal. Hangar steak was cooked to perfection. The seasoning on the plate really added to the meal. Also had some of their burger, oysters, pimento cheese, and chocolate dessert. All of them were amazing. Portioning was robust as well. All in all, an excellent dining experience.

A changing farm-to-table menu puts the emphasis on fresh, local flavors, and the creativity of chef/owner Stephen Marsh takes center stage.Regular appetizers like the Farm Egg Schmear (think deviled eggs, but as a spread, on Ritz crackers), Pimento Cheese, and Deviled Crab are not to be missed. And I love the Burrata when its served with grilled peaches or melon and some smoked ham.

We stayed here for one night prior to heading back home. The customer service was outstanding. The room was also fabulous and the beds were comfortable. There are some lights that are not working properly in the parking lot. There is also road construction in front of the hotel and the main entrance to hotel is closed off.

I love coming here. They work wonders in the kitchen and can tempt anyone to try something new. Their menu features food that you wont see anywhere else, but also isnt something youd have to work up the courage to try. They inspire me to be a better cook at home because I know if I ruin a dish, I can always come here and have someone else make it.

This unique little joint is like getting a dinner and a show in one! Sit at the bar so you can watch them make your food. This is a foodies dream! Pretty casual, but upscale prepared food. Unique garnishes like pickled blueberries and smoked peanut grace the menu and surprise the palate.

This is my favorite restaurant in Hampton Roads. I’ve never been disappointed in a dish, whether it be an appetizer, entree, or dessert. The service standard is incredibly high, though it never feels stuffy. The absolute only reason I don’t dine here more often than I do is because I don’t want my two-year-old to ruin other diners’ experiences!

LeGrand consistently creates quality meals. The chef produces flavor combinations according to whats fresh and in season to make unique dishes. Always a delightful surprise!

I like this place but its so small - we went there on one occasion and had to go somewhere else because there was no room for our party of 6! However, I will say this - when we got a chance to eat the food everything was delicious. Go if you can but dont be shocked if you have to wait or end up going somewhere else.
