Hands down the best breakfast I’ve had in Hampton roads! This place really was an awesome try and we will definitely be back to enjoy. There’s outdoor seating, indoor and screened porch to choose from. The staff here are excellent at what they do and how they do it. We can’t wait to try more on the menu!

Such a fun place. Everyone very friendly. A lot of seating. Inside, outside and a porch. Old style diner. Food was hot and served quickly. It was worth the stop for the atmosphere.

I always have a wonderful time at Little Dog Diner. I visited on a Sunday afternoon, after a short wait we chose a seat outside under an umbrella on a beautiful day. I chose a Pineapple and Orange mimosa, while my partner had a cherry coke.Additionally the Veggie omelet (plus bacon) was cooked perfectly and delicious. My partner had the waffle platter with tater tots and everything was simply tasty diner-style goodness.Our waitress was attentive and concise. The electronic menu and payment via tablet was super convenient.I didn’t get to take any pictures at my most recent visit, so I included some from over the years.

AMAZING food in a very cool retro space. Its a very chill area to sit outside and enjoy nice weather in a covered patio area. The food did take a while but is WELL worth it. Everything I ate was amazing and at a very reasonable price as well. Definitely a great place to visit in Norfolk.

Based on what we ordered, we really enjoyed our food here. We ate here for the first time today and had lunch. My turkey wrap was very good, and our service was prompt. Wendy was our server, and she did a great job! If you like casual dining with a sense of humor, I definitely would try this diner in Norfolk’s Ghent.

Its been a while since Id dropped in for brunch; I was delighted that the Diner is still at the top of its game.

Eventhough the food is great thats what makes me come back today I wasnt feeling it and a few of the present customers looked a little in disbelief as well. I brought my family in for brunch and the man greeted us i told him my number of people which was 6. The lady in the back said I am not taking a party of 6 really loud the guy looked at her and she said im not taking them. So she walked over and said my kitchen have to many orders I cant take you. Ok and I left. I understand you was a little packed but the way it was handle was rude. I would have waited. Pictures from the other day it was great...

As you can see I had already started before thinking to take a picture. Its diner fare, done right. Fast service, companionable servers, happy talkative line chefs, and good, filling food. I wish there had been a touch more gravy, but the biscuit was flaky and full and apparently fresh. They cook them dense, but if you dont like that they have a half dozen other breads to serve it over. Eggs to order and freshly fried tots. I plan to come back to try the Black and Bleu burger, the Redneck special, and the french toast, which appeared to be a customer favorite while I was here.

LOVE little dog diner! Dog-friendly outside, the staff are so friendly and makes you feel like family, and the food is realllly good. (though dangerous because now I always want hotdogs and fries lol). Highly recommend this fun spot!

Five stars if there was a healthy salad on the menu. Delish food. Best onion rings I’ve ever had, not over breaded. Fried green tomatoes, which came on my “southern express” blt with avo. lots of yummy southern inspired recipes. Great diner atmosphere.

Good until it wasn’t. The server was initially was nice and attentive. My wife and I both ordered crispy bacon with our meal… it was nearly all fat when it came out it was so undercooked. I requested replacement bacon which the server took care of. My wife didn’t have that luxury because she ordered a wrap. It was also full of nearly raw onion, although she specifically said she didn’t really want much of any onion (they were unable to separate onions and peppers because it was too busy… although didn’t appear very busy I believe they are short staffed in the kitchen). It was too many things wrong with her burrito so she told the server she couldn’t eat it and tried to tell her why was wrong but she very rudely just walked off with her dish… didn’t ask if she wanted it remade, something else… no apology for it not being right. She finally came back and asked if she wanted something else. I said the check. She continued being rude through that process even… finally departing after I bill was paid with her final offer of rudeness. She told us to have a nice day and because we didn’t automatically respond with a “you too” she loudly and condescendingly repeated herself. We also overheard another employee trash talking customers to a nearby table who appeared to be regulars. Very unprofessional. Further… none of our food tasted good. I was so excited for my Benedict too (the Deep South one with the fried tomato)… but it was not very good (not terrible but I wouldn’t order it again). This was our first and last trip.

This place is a little gem!! Excellent breakfast, drinks and atmosphere! The staff was so friendly and made us feel like we were right at home. You just earned new regulars Little Dog Diner! I’d recommend this place to anyone looking got the best breakfast in the area :)

CARL is awesome super funny! Amazing fast service perfect lunch spot And our meal was fantastic! You can build your own sandwich on the most delicate flaky croissant ever!!!! The chicken and waffles with the bourbon maple syrup was perfect! Wish we walked into this place before it’s super affordable too! The side porch is also perfect spot to sit!

As far as food goes, youre better off going elsewhere. Lack luster at best. Service was pretty impeccable, but there were flies flitting about all over the establishment, making for a pretty annoying eating experience

Very expensive. Not that good for simple cheap food. I had a hair in my food and was still charged for my meal. Lots of good restaurants in Norfolk, this is not one of them.

Little Dog Diner serves up classic, hearty American breakfast standards with a southern twist. The redneck express breakfast is multiple meals in one — biscuits, hash browns, eggs, sausage, and creamed chipped beef. The corned beef hash is delicious with a slightly sweet taste. Full bar, as well.

Creative place, attentive fun staff, great food interesting dishes. Had eggs Benedict with avocado bacon biscuit and fried green tomato. My granddaughter had fried chicken and waffles with bourbon maple syrup. Delish

Wow. I love it when I happen onto a treasure. The Little Dog Diner I found is shared with Miss Pattys Porch. Go out of your way to do this one. Fantastic ambiance, outwardly friendly waitstaff and great selection of food. Must have one of their Bloody Marys with a specialty mix. Wish I was from here; Id come every day.

This diner was so cute, loved the vintage, nostalgic decor and it reminds you of an old 1960’s spot. There was a long wait but the food and drinks were really good. We ordered sorbet mimosas and I had chicken and waffles. The chicken was well seasoned and delicious. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved this place. We visited in December and the outdoor heated patio was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Way Down South Eggs Benedict. It was a magical meal with a homemade biscuit, bacon, avocado, fried green tomato and a poached egg topped off with hollandaise. They serve you two, so make room in your belly because youll want to eat both. I think this meal could also be amazing without the biscuit but Im always trying to find ways to lessen the carbs. My husband had the biscuits and gravy, which were also delicious. You really cant go wrong here. My jumbo sized mimosa was also a nice touch.

EXCELLENT FOOD!! My son recommended the place; he is an ODU student. The customer service and quaint atmosphere was so refreshing!! You will not go wrong with visiting Little Dog Diner!

Its a bit small on the inside, but the intimate seating arrangement is definitely a toll Im willing to pay. The servers are always great, and if youre looking for brunch that will definitely leave you full I cant recommend Little Dog enough

Although the staff were friendly, I placed a small, breakfast, carry-out order in person. It took almost 30 minutes before I walked out.Of course, by the time I got home, within 10 minutes, the croissant, bacon-egg sandwich was cold.

One of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and their house made corned beef hash is amazing along with their house made maple syrup. Will definitely make sure to swing by the next time Im in Virginia.

First time experience could not have gone better. My server was awesome, service was fast, the diner is ADORABLE, and the food was fantastic. I had a Cuban with onion rings. The hand breaded onion rings were flavored and cooked just right. Sandwich had a little more mustard than my personal preference, but I loved the thick sliced pickles and how perfectly toasted the whole thing was. I will definitely be dining here again.

Little Dog has become one of my favorite places and is a go-to for my girlfriend and I. First off, the food is really good. The hash browns and the their biscuits are two things that really stand out. And make sure you ask for their maple bourbon butter to dip your biscuit in or you’ll be missing out. Second, the feel of the place is awesome. It has a comfortable old diner feel and, even though it is a pretty small place, they do a great job making it feel safe for COVID. Lastly, the service is the best! Every waiter I have ever had has been personable, kind, funny, and a little (sometimes a whole lot haha) sassy. They are great at what they do and make sure you are taken care of and enjoy your meal. I will be going to Little Dog for years to come!

Great corner location for a great brunch or lunch. Lots of indulgent comfort foods that fall back on the frier. Thats not to say there arent healthy options, but most offerings include butter, bread or batter. Good cocktail choices for the brunch crowd too. Onion rings are next level, while daily specials can be hit or miss.

I enjoyed the Little Dog Diner, for the most part. Plenty of breakfast options to choose from. I enjoyed sitting outside on the patio for breakfast, sipping on some coffee and eating the Redneck Express. Only downside we encountered, was the hair in the fruit bowl my daughter ordered...grosses me out, but sometimes it just happens. Excluding the rogue strand of hair, I wouldnt mind trying the Little Dog Diner again when in the area.

Went there for the first time after a suggestion I received. This place is so humble on the inside, but the food is splendid! We ordered the egg head burger and my husband had to use both hands the entire time to eat this burger, bc it was so big! I had the Alaskan sandwich with onion rings and a side of crab cakes and everything was flavorful and they give huge portions! Definitely recommend!

Very unique neighborhood diner! Inside or out, theres a place for everyone. Much to my surprise I had a tasty Bloody Mary with my order.

The meatloaf panino (panini is plural, I only had one) was tasty, but a little greasy. I had to use several napkins.The french fries were overcooked.

Most delicious corned beef hash and bloody Marys. The only thing this place is missing is tobasco hot sauce!

Chic little diner with all the right flare and a love for dogs. Our pups got up on their board of doggos. Their chefs know their stuff and the waiting staff is on top of their game. Excited to return and try something new. Great variety =]

Food was good service was good and fast. The food is what you would expect from a dinner. The place isnt that big they have some upper deck seating and seating out front. I can see this place getting really crowded and having long waits oh yeah, sounds about right for the neighborhood. I went on a Thursday morning no wait and it was a 3 person operation 2 servers and a cook. I cant imagine them fitting too much more staff in that place without them stepping on each other. Either way the point is if you want to avoid a long wait grab some grub during the week you wont be disappointed or made to wait looking famished while others who came before you dine.

Everything was delicious and the onion rings are a missle, that crab omelette is on one thousand...I recommend this place 💯%

They seat too many people for COVID mitigation standards. They get so full that the wait times are up to over an hour and a half. Attempted to go two mornings in a row. Thats my sign to never return heard the food was nasty and soggy anyway.

The tall white male waiter there is hilarious. Loved having a waiter who was very honest, casual, real, and told funny customer stories about fat vegan ladies. The Cuban Press was huge, very good food. Portions are big! Do not come here if you are vegan.
