Regarding a consignment experience. I had an appointment with Alexes for a valuation. This person had the WORST attitude, & was so incredibly rude & obnoxious that I was embarrassed for him!! On top of that, he was clueless & made comments that were flat out factually incorrect. I wouldn’t consign with the RealReal if it were the last place on earth with staff like that!! I’d suggest hiring for competence & basic manners..No cringy princess attitude needed!

I was treated terrible. When I went back and I said I work for a celebrity they treated me good. My boss who is an actress decided not to buy from the anymore after this.

In the past month (Sep. 2021), I dropped off numerous times with over 10 items each time with their curb side service. The collecting process was quick and smooth, awesome and helpful staffs with knowledge and friendly attitude. The only reason that I give a 4-star is because I didnt know well what it is like to shop in the store. However, at the very first reservation for item review, I was told to meet a store rep that wasnt exist at all and then was redirected to the curb side drop-off.Their operation on the back seems a bit messy, according to others experiences; by far, in my case, only one fo the returned parcels has had the wrong apt number, easy mistake. Currently waiting for 2 returned packages to be delivered this week.I do see items are selling very quick, however, at a low price. You cant just have both.I will say TRR service has room for improvement, but its worth a try.

I’ve dropped off items for sale twice here and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. You can also set up a phone appointment to discuss possible items to sell before bringing everything in, although there seemed to be some discrepancies in information between the phone call and in person discussions.

RealReal is MAJOR SCAM. DO NOT COSIGN with them.They are crooks and liars!My wife cosigned few pairs of Italian shoes, including brand new Valentino and Escada. They have not confirmed appraised price and somehow very promptly and conveniently for someone on the inside sold brand new (made in Italy) Valentino shoes for only $60 (while at same time they sell used michael kors made in china for $160). My wife request all remaining items to be returned and somehow new (made in Italy) Escada shoes were not returned and missing.

Went into the store, got no service with almost no one else in the store and I was standing at the counter. Asked the gentleman the price of a Rolex which I wanted to buy and he gave me the wrong price and then walked off to help someone else while I was mid sentence. Clearly I wasnt worth his time

Before the commercials, before the hype I loved the Real Real! When I dropped a lot of weight and my body was in the best shape of its life I knew I wanted to purchase high end items. I did a google search and somehow found The Real Real on Facebook. I join immediately and have been a fan ever since. Last year on my way to Paris my son and I flew out of NY and I had to go to the Madison Ave. store before heading to the airport. We only had a bit of time so hopped a cab uptown and stopped in. Since it was a Sunday and they were closing early we only stayed a few minutes but the staff was so sweet and helpful. I highly recommend shopping on The Real Real. Have not done any consignments yet but will update my review when I do.

First time at the Madison Ave store. Got there very last minute so everyone was preparing to close up shop. The gentleman who took my items Phil was nice and friendly even though it was past 7. He helped with doing all in his power he could do helping get a status update or raise one with accurate team. Great in store customer service. Only downside or somewhat of a annoyance is when I received an email stating an item I dropped off was a bow tie when in fact it is a tie. Other than that highly recommend checking out the store

Poor customer service with the only person saying hello being the security guard. The man who was in the handbag department was on his phone the whole time and was annoyed I had questions. Skip this location and visit their Soho one instead

Xavier is incredible! He has incredible knowledge of the items in the store and has the best customer service. He has helped me on numerous purchases both big and small and has blown me away each time with his professionalism. He truly cares!

Arrived at the store 30min before closing and waited outside till 4:55pm, till we requested to speak to a manager after the security guard ignored us. The manager explained we could no longer come in as they were closing. The store was being operated as if it is an elite membership club with no regards for its customers. We wasted 30min standing outside only to be told they are closing. We were asked if we were going to purchase anything yet we couldn’t go inside to look at the merchandise. This was a disgraceful and rude experience. We are local and had such a sour experience that I would never accept treatment like this.

Do NOT try to sell your items here! Unless you’re selling a Chanel bag, they will screw you over HARD and are impossible to communicate with. They lost my items for over 2 months and it was a nightmare trying to find someone who knows what’s going on. They are also very shady about the commission rate, so BE SURE to go over that before you decide to work with them. You will not get what you were told or implied and it will make you very angry.

Terrible service. Not a good company. Tried to get a valuation on a watch I was trying to sell. I had schedule an appointment to meet with a watch specialist at this location. (I lost my job due to covid, so I’m in urgent need of cash as my unemployment is coming to an end soon.) I first hear from a woman named Amanda and she would only communicate through text message. She wanted to know a bit more about the watch, and then she said she was going to pass the info on to the specialist I was going to meet. She told me to wait to hear from them, but I never did. And my appointment was never confirmed either. Then I heard from someone named Chelsea. She asked the same questions as Amanda, which I answered. A couple days went by and I didn’t hear back from either of them, so I followed up and still no response. This all transpired over the past couple of weeks. This company has put out this image of being reputable for consignments and excellent service. Both couldn’t be further from the truth. When it comes to luxury watches and fine jewelry, go to 1st Dibs.

Everyone handled there part exceptional

DO NOT CONSIGN OR BUY HERE - I spent $5,000+ on a piece of jewelry. It was supposed to come with a certificate of authenticity and another collateral, but they were not shipped with the jewelry. I rightfully assume they lost it and I feel bad for the consigner.I decided I couldnt trust the quality of work here, so I returned the item and I am trying to get a refund. However, they have not processed the refund for over two weeks - and they emailed me today saying I should ship in the collaterals... lack of which was my precise reason for return!

It shows here that they close at 8 pm on Tuesdays. But when I arrived on 7:30 on Tuesday, it is already closed. I think they upload wrong information on their website. A place could mishandle their own business hours like this, I won’t believe them to handle my consignment. Not recommend.

Rude and snobby! Walked into the shop with intentions of purchasing a handbag. A group of shop assistants were standing around chatting, they all saw my partner and I walk in and look around, but not one of them greeted us. As well as that, the door man was less inclined to open the door for us or take my wet umbrella. I was really excited to visit this shop, it is unfortunate that the customer service at the Real Real is only available to those who fit in their criteria of having money.

The selection here is extremely underwhelming. Absolutely no customer service. The only person who said anything to me the entire time in the store was the guard, explaining that there isnt retail upstairs only offices.

Can’t speak for the buying side, but selling here was a great experience and Morgan was amazing and patient and a whiz at untangling necklaces.

Read my review from their Soho store. They took my commission because I apparently owed them money. Their only proof is a partial picture of an Excel spreadsheet that anyone could make in a computer! They took over $600 from my commissions without any previous explanation, they just take it. You have to spend hours on the phone to find out where your money is, because nobody answers your emails. And their explanation doesn’t make any sense. Very bad company!

I havent been yet but i love their website it just feels like I cant walk into this store without owning a designer bag. I have walked by it multiple times but idk.

There is no reason to go to this store. Let’s start by front guy who wouldn’t open the door when we left just because I didn’t get anything but opened the door for others before me. Get a grip , you can’t force me to buy something if I don’t like.
