Great place to grab a smoothie bowl or fresh pressed juice! They offer a variety of salads and chia pudding desserts. Very friendly service and consistently good food. Would really like to see the calorie count on the products though. In a place like this, one expects it. Thats my only beef. Happy to have it in the neighborhood!

The Wholesum Kitchen food truck was at an art/music festival at a local south Minneapolis park. I met Evan and his wonderful staff. They are extremely friendly and provide great service. All smiles. The vanilla cold press latte with your choice of milk was delicious. I had mine with coconut milk. I had the stew they had for the event. It was very hearty and delicious. It was very flavorful with each chunky bite. It had the perfect amount of heat, but I wouldn’t call it spicy. It was perfect for a chilly fall day. The prices are very reasonable. It’s always great to support local businesses. It was nice to see a constant line at their truck. I highly recommend.

This place has invigorated a craving for health food that I didnt know I could have. Im excited to go back! I went with the Lanai smoothie bowl and was so glad I did. It was creamy, smooth, and you could really taste the mango and pineapple. The granola on the bottom of the bowl was really a treat. I got the small bowl and it was more than enough food. Its takes time to make, but its SO worth it.

EXTREMELY disappointed in the açài bowl (it was more like a cup) we ordered from the Whole sum kitchen food truck. Talk about BASIC AF. Costco and Jamba juice offers a variety of toppings and better portion sizes of the actual açài for a better price. I dont ever mind paying more for good quality food, but this was a rip off. The peanut butter they drizzled on top overpowered the other 3 ingredients that made up the rest of the bowl. I really wanted to like it but no, dont waste your time & money here on the açài bowl 😑

I chose this place on a whim to meet up with a friend visiting from out of town. I ordered a smoothie bowl which was so filling and delicious! On top of the nummy food and nice atmosphere, the staff was amazing. We chatted with Babbs (a manager, I believe) who was so friendly and answered all the questions we had about ingredients. And because my friend and I sat their for so ridiculously long catching up, Babbs brought us over little samplings/extras for us to try. I cant wait to go back and get a full thing of their cashew milk!I had already decided to mark this place as a favorite because of the food but the service is what made me tell all my friends and urge me to write a review!

I had the large chocolate strawberry smoothie bowl. Ot was so good and filling! I also had a french toast latte which was also good! Both of these together, with a tip, were around 21$. Best hot chocolate of my life. I imagine this is the closest any of us will get to what the Mayans drank when they first discovered cocoa. I love normal processed hot chocolate, but this is a totally different beverage. Its a very pleasant space and the menu has many appealing dishes. I was a little put off by the fact that, even though the only service employees offer is taking your order at the counter, they solicit tips. They do not bring your food to the table. They do not do anything but process your transaction. It might not have caught my attention as unwarranted if my dine-in meal had come on a traditional plate with silverware. Instead, I ate out of a plastic to-go container with a disposable fork. And then I bussed (and by this is mean, threw away in the trash) my own dishes. The meal I ordered was the citrus avocado salad, with chicken added, for a little over $11. The portion was just adequate, I would have thought it over priced had there had been any less. The flavors were good, however the avocado was not ripe enough. The dressing was excellent. Id consider trying this place again, but the tip thing really rubs me wrong. Why do you want me to tip for service that could easily be done through an automated kiosk?Edit: I appreciate the time and concern the owner put into crafting a response to my review. I would point out that meals are ordered and paid for (and tips solicited) before any food is prepared or brought out from the kitchen. If the idea is that tips are expected for good service, I would suggest they collect payment from dine-in customers *after* the meal has been eaten and the customer can judge the quality of service. While everyone knows tipping is optional, it is an understood convention in American society. Presenting the customer with the decision at the beginning of their experience in the restaurant gives a strong impression that employees need the supplement to their wage. I am happy to tip for good service, but I would like to receive the service before I reward it. Your restaurant asks customers to pay extra in advance for service they may not receive and cannot demand.

A few colleagues and I ordered from Whole Sum recently for lunch (they deliver all the way to downtown Minneapolis!). I had the tahini grain bowl which was perfectly delicious and filling. All the flavors worked so well together and the tahini sauce and sweet potatoes just put it over the top. The best part though is how it makes you feel - like you’re feeding your body well! I so desperately want to give Whole Sum a higher rating, especially after seeing all the 5 star reviews. But 2 stars is what Im going to stick with. If I could give 2.5, though, I absolutely would.Staff are lovely people, great people, even to a hungry high school student first thing in the morning. And that added most of the stars. Kudos on your employees, guys-- theyre awesome. The location is cute; very hip and clean, but for all the niche-type furniture, it felt kinda impersonal for a cafe. Now, I worked at a very popular cafe for a while, and we had some similar ideas--smoothie bowl type stuff. And although some stuff wasnt my cup of tea, I could see how it would be for many.I tried the lemon-cayenne juice, and (forgive my description, I went a number of weeks ago) a sort of mint-carob bar, and some fig/coconut (and peanut butter?) bites. I went in knowing that itd be pricey, but between the juice and the bar, I have to say I regretted my purchase. The ideas arent bad, but in execution, they didnt really...taste like food. This is NOT the case for the bites, though! F***ing fantastic. Im lucky enough to know how good co-op food is, and this was an almost nostalgia inducing experience. Id pay that price again, on a less than regular occasion, though; its very expensive. But for both the juice and the bar, I was tempted to throw them both away. And I wouldve, if I hadnt paid so much. But it wouldve been like throwing away money. They were not filling as advertised, and the juice was very acidic and sickly sweet going down.Yall have a lot of potential, and I get if this doesnt change your approach. This is one opinion. Im not trying to take away yours. :)

I met a friend at World Sum Kitchen for a sit down meeting. He chose the venue having mentioned that he was a frequent patron. I had never heard about the restaurant which appeared to be located in a safe neighborhood surrounded by fun, creative and inviting locally owned shops. When I pulled up I thought to myself, what a shame that I had never visited the area. I loved it! The establishment was well lit with huge windows that provided tons of sunlight to illuminate the space. The venue is casual and hip. It was clean, light hearted, tastefully colorful and creative welcoming and relaxing The employees were knowledgeable and super friendly. The business certainly seemed concerned about the businesss carbon footprint as most if not all the items that food and drinks were served in were recyclable. A recycling station was provided. Each bin was clearly marked. To top the great experience off World Sum Kitchen provided only paperless receipts. Let me not forget to mention that the food was absolutely delish and so fresh! I highly reccomend this spot. Now that I know about it I will be taking my friends there too. This establishment is akin to the tucked away sweet spots my friends and I use to frequent in Soho. Five stars, yummylicious!
