Im from out of town. Decent selection but prices seemed higher than price charting and higher than eBay and Mercari. Owner tried to defend higher prices with shipping rates. Ive seen other reviews where NES games are higher. Im from one of the top 15 most populated city in the USA. Almost all for our stores use price charting or eBay for current market value. I also attend multiple retro video game trade shows and again prices are in line with eBay and Price charting and you may find someone will to make a deal but I would not consider eBay or price charting low ball sites. One example I saw was King Neptune Adventure. Your price was $329. Price charting and the app I use show this game at $179-$180 as of time of this review. Mercari has it for $200 and eBay has it for $159 plus free shipping or $175 plus shipping or best offer. I would not consider an extra $129 plus the cost of buying from a local retailer. I also saw other Wii games that are valued at $5 CIB and store was asking $9.80. Other NES games in display case were turned on side where you can not see titles and a lot of the games you could not see the prices. Annoying having to ask what are the prices. Again these are just my options based on previous previous trade shows and local game shops in my city and other cities around the country and pricing sites and eBay and other selling apps.

Never ever a bad experience if you need that cable for your surround sound or even have sum old electrical stuff laying around good for cash or store credit

Very crowded, but definitely large store. It might look like small to you outside, but be prepared to spend a couple hours in there 😂 just to be aware, there is a parking street meter fee. It does need coins or you can download the app to pay for the meter.

Great to purchase DVDs or other things. However, avoid selling because you get little to nothing. They do offer more store credit then cash so that is nice. Employees are usually pretty sweet and helpful. They also have someone who does string art! Definitely check that out, it is awesome! Pricey but worth every dollar!

Always have great movies and games to choose from

Went in to go repair a xbox one, when I got it back it worked perfectly for a week then the same problem persisted. Couldn’t get a refund for the repair nor can a afford another xbox or repair.

Very cool store and I came here to fill some games for my complete NES collection. All the games you had were priced above retail. I get that you have to make money. But for example you had a game that’s retailed on the net and other stores for $12 and yours was $26...many others were like this. Great selection though and as I said it’s a cool store but the prices and no one talking to us was a let down.

I wanted to purchase a laptop charger from one game room location, Im not going to say any names about the location... Downtown Lincoln location. Their technician took my laptop to his work station to test a laptop charger that they had available, told me that it worked out that he tested it for my laptop precipitately. I make it home it doesnt work! I called Game Room the only one to give me store credit, and dont really want to bother helping me get an actual laptop charger! Thank you for the help!

I have no problem paying more than I would pay at a corporate store. However, I brought my son a game for $60 and found out it was a double gift. I went back 1 hour later to get a refund and was told that it was not an option for cash back and that I would only receive $40 store credit for the unopened game that was going to be put back on the shelf for $60. Not only did I have to ask repeatedly for pricing on other items and received horrible customer service, The employee told me “there is not a manager to speak to, they are not a corporate business and don’t have fair policies.” I would have rated 0 stars if that was an option.

Brought an xbox one elite controller in to be fixed. The bumpers they put in were fantastic. But the grips on the back were peeling up. When asked about it, the workers were adamant that it came in like that and it was my fault. I guess make sure to take pictures of anything you take in to get fixed. Super bummer since it seemed like an awesome place....

Dropped off a phone for screen repair on 10/17/20; the clerk said the tech would be in on Monday. No problem. Didnt receive a call by Tuesday, so I called them; nobody had looked at it yet. I asked for a call when they pulled it to look at it. Called again on Wednesday; the clerk said it can sometimes be a week or two weeks for repair. I said I understood they might have to order a screen or part, but wanted to make sure someone would call or text me when they first looked at it so I could have an estimate to decide whether to have it fixed or not based on potential cost. By Saturday morning 10/24, no call or text. I had my friend pick it up as it appears nobody even looked at the phone and the store had possession of it for a week.

Was in there recently to purchase an xbox 360 with the silver plating. Turns out it doesnt read discs and it will only read certain games, and even when it reads the game, it gives me unrecognized disc error once starting the game. Disc tray constantly gets stuck. Bought dragons age inquistion and that game ended up having a ring scratched on the bottom of the disc. I guess make sure to test the games and systems before selling them to make sure they actually work. Nobody wants to spend money on items that are botched. You just lost a customer.

Was sorely disappointed in this place on this last visit to it. The time before was great, bought a ps3 got it to my brothers. after driving 8+ hours went to turn it on and it didnt work. Tried to return said system, that was a hassle, and also was upcharged for a couple of items. Was told the price was ten. Looked at the receipt later was charged 20. Not happy wont go back again.

Dont pay any attention to their website. Not an accurate representation of their stock. The kid at the register said that stock is entered into the computer, but not always shelved immediately. This was 2 weeks after I initially looked at the particular game that said it was in stock on the website. Still says its in stock. Still says all controllers for all systems are out of stock even though they had buckets full of them. He said he couldnt find the game (he just said this, didnt actually try to go look for anything) but that I was more than willing to have it shipped to my house. Their website is a bigger mess than their store. Why have a website?? Take it down or organize it.

Good inventory nice helpful personal.

My playstation was stuck in an update loop, I asked if they could fix it. All they did was factory re-set it. I could have done that, I was hoping to not lose my game progress. Next time let someone know if your only option is to wipe the device.

A little unorganized in the CD section but otherwise a top knotch place for media. Very spacious and hours of searching to do (when they dont have COVID restrictions Im sure they dont mind folks searching for hours but they had a 10 person limit so I wanted to make room for others). The staffer helping me was hilarious and super knowledgeable, made the experience so much more worth coming in.

Game selection and movie selection is legit but when you are trying to exchange an item in the 7-Day policy that they provide, regardless of the price of my item you should be able to exchange it right?! Well they did not... He chuckled and said theres no warranty for an item that only cost a dollar. ... okay its an exchage though...But Whateva we all know its the principle. Anyway I feel like my one and a half year old does not get to enjoy her fidget spinner to the fullest, its supposed to light up multiple areas and only works on one of the three lights and it came out of thw package broken like this... Just dont get it but okay.

They also went out of their way to see if they had a certain game in stock and got it from the back for me. Really great customer service. I will definitely be coming back again!

You got any I got a game disc stuck in my PlayStation 4 they told me it was going to be a week week and a half and ended up being like a month and a half they said that they were going to give me a text message or call me when it was done and they never did that so I just kept randomly stopping in dont get me wrong I get it were in the middle of a pandemic but when I kept calling in they couldnt give me a status on it that was just my experience

Love the people who work at this downtown location!! Very friendly and welcoming. Also pet friendly. They know their inventory and if they dont have what youre looking for they are knowledgeable at recommending something similar that you will like. They have a 7 day return policy for a full refund & if you need to sell items you can get either cash or instore credit. Selling items you dont receive as much as you pay for them but they are fair.

Used to be better. Prices are high, trade ins get you next to nothing in credit, dont even bother trading for cash.In their early days, I would have gave them a great review, I have even done volunteering there for reduced costs on gifts for my kids.But I personally feel the business has gone downhill in the past couple years. They can do better.

One of the best places for all things video game related new and old. This store not only has games but an extremely large collection of DVDs, Blu-Rays, records, CDs and even some computers. Staff is always friendly and everything is sorted neatly.

Great selection of old school games and electronics with decent prices and new age current devices as well but there trade in/sell prices have dropped slot for the value of certain things. If I need to buy something from there I will but selling Ill do it privately more bang for your buck.

This place has changed a lot over the years! I stop in maybe once every 6 months to buy a game for one of my old systems. Not always the most friendly staff but they have an excellent variety of games and movies. It kind of has that hole-in-the-wall vibe but in a good way. It doesnt feel like a gaming box store.

I was buying for a Christmas present and the guy that was helping me did a fantastic job. He helped me go through a bunch of copies of a game I was buying to get the best looking case. The controllers I picked out, he cleaned up really well for me and then discounted. The staff and prices are great in general too.

Its a shame that theyve had to close down other locations, but the service is thorough and nice.

This store has an awesome selection of tech not just gaming equipment. I give this five stars because I found what I needed there and it works great. By the way, all the official local guides from Google have rated this store four or five stars.

Have bought two “refurbished” PS4 controllers from here. Both lasted a couple months, and then the joysticks went bad on both controllers within a week of each other. Will spend a little more money and just buy new ones next time.

Explained everything to me and followed through with exactly what we planned. Didnt charge me an excessive amount to fix my sons ps4. Messaged back quickly and let me know as soon as the ps4 was fixed. Love this place! Highly recommend!

Changed my rating due to the owner apologizing and fixing the entire situation thats what customer service is..!!! horrible horrible service ..... Went in to buy PS4 for my son and the controller wasnt working properly so I took it back to let them know they kept it for about 5 days to find out the problem ...then we in again to let them them know wasnt working again was told to come back if it continues went in the next day and then was told that we were pushing to hard on the joy sticks...so they said since the warranty ran out which is 7 days that they could fix it but there would be a charge to fix the controller...
