Stopped here twice this week for gas on a 1000 mile round trip to Jacksonville from the Detroit area. They were a full 20 cents less per gal than everyone else and my car is still running great, ~ 36-38 mpg. And what a selection at the pump! So many options it took me two attempts to figure out the right combination of grade and fill nozzle to select. Oh, and they even had a favorite low carb peanut butter cup choice for my sweet tooth, first place like this on the road Ive been able to find them; a little pricey but worth the satisfaction. Added an inexpensive 32oz fountain soda and good to go!

We go there for gaming and its a good stop for a quick spin of the wheel, gaming area is kinda small but quaint and the games are all fairly new and well maintained. Nice spot.

Five star cause its a self convenient clean place to park .

One of the best truck stops out there. Can usually find parking here 24/7 and Steak n Shake inside is always open. Lots of other restaurants within walking distance. Can’t ask for anything more

Holy cow I have hit the mother load here. The deli in the truck stop is AMAZING, the place isn’t over crowded to get fuel, plus you have a variety of places to eat. Love this stop

First impressions count and when I got here most of the fuel islands were shut down. And a mess. And the guy inside didnt bother to say hello and I spent $600 on diesel. Wont be stopping again. There are a lot of choices for truck stops and this wasnt good. It was so dirty I didnt dare try the food.Additional: had to fuel here again, no choice. I got a few snacks and asked the girl at the checkout for a bag. She pointed to a pile on the counter and told me to get my own. She was too busy flirting with some black employee. Worst truck stop in America.

Thorntons is one of my favorite gas stations. If we are stopping for snacks this is ussually the place. Gas is ok.

The store is great!! Thats if you can get to it because the snow/ice removal company takes forever to show up. They need someone closer that can be there a lot faster. Thortons is always very busy. Hopefully theyll get a closer company that can keep the parking lots safe and accessible in a timely manner so nobody gets injured and they dont lose business over it.

The level of trash on the ground is alarming, even for Illinois. Take some ownership and pride in your facility. Def at the pump decent selection inside.

A must stop I am from Philly so I had to try their cheese steak the gentleman who made it did it like a pro.Great job Also bathroom spotless an plentiful parking. Will be back

A large truck stop with a Subway and Steak and Shake fast food. I was only in and out of there in a few minutes so I didnt look around, but they had just about everything a normal pilot or Flying J does. The Steak and Shake was GOOOD!!!

Best Truck stop my husband and I have stayed by far! The parking lot is BIG, the restrooms are CLEAN, the staff is very FRIENDLY, and the prices are extremely DECENT! Love it will keep this spot in mind next time we travel through Illinois.

Great stop while traveling between Chicago and St. Louis. Easy on/off I-55. Clean facility and rest restrooms, great selection of snacks and Steak-n-Shake on-site! Good truck parking!

Clean, great and easy location off interstate. Friendly staff. Part of a steak n shake/ gas station combo. Has area for semi trucks and regular cars. Restrooms are large enough for plus size people (not having to use handicap stalls).

Excellent stop! Love this place!Got the fresh coffee! And the steak burrito is amazing! For the price of 4.49 you get a burrito big enough to feed 2 people or 1 with a huge appetite.

Do NOT stop if you are an otr driver planning to park. They let Wright tree trimmers take up a good chunk of the lot. Use the fuel stop across the street.

So literally 20 minutes ago I stop by 2 grab a bite fuel up its the end of the week and Ive got my last $10 I ordered a simple cheeseburger and a order of wedges I dont know how she did it but I love how hard my bread was cheap microwave the whole sandwich Brown lettuce ketchup and all also thank you for whatever that black ashy material was on my potato wedges. What is it more the fact that she said something I looked at her face while she was trying to talk to the cashier and she looks at me and says hi and walk to the back I hope for the sake of the next customer you were telling the cashier she should make the next order because you dont know what that you are doing thought $6.91 was a deal but I guess you get what you pay for.

For it being gas station food it was really top notch. I ordered a Angus burger which was like $6 because I got a extra Patty and more bacon. I got the extra because I was expecting a tiny McDonalds burger, but the burger was absolutely huge. It was really good both taste and price wise.

Nice people. Large selection of healthy food choices. I especially love the steak and shake. I would recommend the chili Mac. You gotta try it.

Great experience! Friendly staff, clean showers,cheap laundry $1 to wash 75¢ to dry. Truck parking never filled up. I dont think enough drivers know about the place. There is another place across the street that has truck parking also. Lots of restaurant options nearby too. Stake and Shake connected to Thorntons was very busy, but enjoyed the experience and food.Wendys across the parking lot, Taco Bell within walking distance. Cracker Barrel across the street. A few hotels close by if you dont want to ideal.

This is a hidden gem for truckers. I pulled off I-55 because of a sign for a hotel with truck parking but came across this place instead!! Im glad I did! It is very nice and clean.

Friendly service. Wide variety of food, for a gas station. I stop here while passing through Lincoln every once in a while, but not really frequently. I still get a good about of free items through their reward program

Was going to rate 4 Stars because it doesnt have the Wow factors of Walcott or Jubitz, but what it has it does well. Big lot without moon craters. Everything works. Reasonable prices (e.g. Laundry: $1 wash $. 75 dry) Cheap ATM ($1 Fee) Hot food and a couple of fast food options within walking distance. People who give a damn (Want an extra towel for your shower?) Exceeded expectations!

First time at one of these before. Very impressive, lots of choices of dispenser sodas. Very cheep prices on then to. Very clean.

Newer or redone restrooms, usually clean. Good selection in the soda fountain. And get a rewards card for 3 cents off gas and other bonuses in the store.

You never have to wait to fuel. The sub shop is great... Good amount of parking.

Lady truckers.. there is only one ladys restroom, next to the steak n shake, clear on the opposite side from the truck stop. And it was packed with customers from the restaurant! Not friendly to female truckers at all!

Good service, but dont bring your kids with you ,if you dont want them to hear bad language. The woman (Employees) were heavy on the F word behind the counter.

June 20, 2019 at 1:20am the lady at register was really rude she was greeting anyone and when I went to shower bugs were flying there.Really nasty place and that cashier.

Had the beef taco salad, would have been better without the ranch dressing but the shake was awesome

My fill up gas station on my way home to Wis from visiting family. Clean bathrooms, hot food, and attendents always available.

Stop here every time we pass (QC to Decatur and QC to STL runs)... They have great chicken salad and ham salad sandwiches

The restrooms are a complete mess with toilet paper all through out the mens rest room. The staff and Steak and Shake require you to stand while waiting to be seated and even the manager on duty tonight has walked passed me. Never again will I stop here.

Its a pilot now and a nice one close to Wal-Mart a 24 hour Kroger and good food

Went to the deli and order a burger. Woman said its fresh cooked.Get it back and it was micrwaved. Burger was hard as a rock.

02-27-2019 at 1340hrs the cook decided she would rather have a conversation with cashier , instead of cooking the pizzas I paid for and had to wait an extra few minutes for cold pizza, the life of a trucker, wow !!!

Stopped in for my usual chicken salad and was really disappointed to the point of being disgusted. The sub stand with all the fixn keeps getting dirtier and filthier. The lettuce was brown and cross contamination from on item to another. This has been an ongoing problem to the point that I stopped going there for awhile. Nothing has changed and wont be back till new staff is working the sub shop. Threw the sandwich away and went to Wendys next door.
