Sent my Martin (my single most prized possession, never spent that much money on something before) to Rik for a crack repair and a pickup installation. the crack was fixed very quickly and is unnoticeable unless you look very hard and know right where it is. The pickup was an unfamiliar one, so he took his time with it, but when i got it back it was done absolutely perfectly. Allowed me to try it in-store and now i can’t put it down. Excellent work! Will 100% be coming back in the future!

I had him work on my 78 Ibanez. It was in the shop for awhile but WAS NOT Riks fault. Had pickups on backorder. He also did a fret dress on it and the fret work is some of the best Ive seen. Once we got the pickups he got to work quickly. I know he had a rough time getting the mounting rings off due to rusted screws. But he did a flawless job. Couldnt be more happier. Thanks Rik youre the best.

I called and made a very unreasonable request for a quick turn around on a setup. I needed it within a three day period. Most shops couldn’t touch a turn that quick. Rick said bring it on in, and promised to have it done in two days. He called me LATER THAT DAY to tell me that my guitar was ready.The setup was perfect in every was. Cant speak to the service as I left immediately after it was clear that the owner refuses to wear a mask. And I appreciate your kind response, but I absolutely did not ask you if I had to wear a mask. I was wearing a mask; you were not. I said, You dont wear masks in here? and you said, Well be fine as long as we stay away from each other, to which I promptly agreed and left. Im not going to support a business that doesnt believe in science. Its about caring for each other.

Great place! Bought guitar at guitar center needed repaired quickly. Guitar center said tech was out took it here and service and repair was the best. Great guy to deal with.

Came into Tn guitar and sound with my Ibanez Rg that I had multiple upgrades for, Rik installed new pickups, locking tuners, and a new nut and set the intonation up so well, my cheap $200 starter guitar sounds like a professional grade instrument now. you can tell Rik has a passion for music and the quality of his work speaks for itself. if you ever need guitar modifications done go to Tn guitar and sound and you won’t be disappointed I know I’ll be back in the future for sure!

The owner saved my Christmas! I had a hard deadline before I was heading out of town and he restored an old bass for, made it shine, and made sure it was in my hands before I had to leave. Quality work and VERY affordable.

Rik and Lucas are both really friendly and speedy with their work. Speedy, not rushing. My strat was feeling great in under an hour and I got to hang out with some cool dudes and look (and touch) at some cool vintage gear. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future for other stuff.

Had my guitar set up and tuned here. It was in bad shape when I brought it in, but sounds great now - the tech took great care of it and got it done quickly at what seemed like a busy time, and at one of the best rates in the area.

Good service overall. The guy at the front couldn’t remember the password and had to wait for the owner to get off the phone, but other than that I had no trouble. I got the cheapest strings that seem to work fine. Nice little shop that feels nothing like your average guitar center.

I cant say enough good about the service and quality of workmanship I received from Rick at Tennessee Guitar and Sound! I brought my Les Paul in for a pickup install and a full setup and the work done was nothing short of professional. Rick was by far the nicest person Ive ever dealt with in a music equipment shop and his work is incredible. please do yourself a favor and check these guys out!! you wont be disappointed!!

What a great shop. I went in thinking I was going to have to spend a small fortune to fix a guitar that was probably not worth putting money into it. Rick made a quick repair, with a smile on his face and sent me on my way. I can’t wait to return.

I had an amp serviced here. It took a while to get it back but when I did it was as new, and the price was incredibly reasonable. Rik is super friendly and helpful. 10/10 recommend this shop.

Worse place ever.... they had my guitar for a month and it didn’t get touched. When I called about having pickups done they claimed to be able to do anything I wanted. Then had it for a week and after I called said it would be done in a few days. A week later I called and they said they didn’t know how to do what I was asking but knew someone that might and they would call to let me know... weeks later, no call so I got it back. Wonder how many instruments and sound equipment sold there is legit vs forgotten items owners left behind

Rick has the best quality used gear.

This is owned and operated by the same guys who used to run Riks Music Shop and they do a great job. They do fretboard setups for any stringed instruments and can give quality advice for anything music related. Theyve done a setup/string change on my 2002 Fender pbass and my 1996 Kentucky mandolin and they both play like new since. Solid luthier work at a good price. If you trust these guys with your instrument you wont be dissapointed!
