I had been using uber to get around for almost two months; figured it was time to put that money towards getting me a new car. I am familiar with the Clayton name and the reputation; wonderful family to do business with. The sales consultant and everyone treated myself and my husband with respect. I left with a sense of accomplishment; in the fact that I was able to do this on my own with my husband supporting me. I am pleased with my experience and when it is time to purchase another vehicle, I will certainly return there. I even offered to make Randy and Phillip something sweet as a thank you. I am taking them brownies in the next couple of days.

Buying experience was easy but didn’t even take but two weeks after buying my car and it has had issue after issue since.

I have been a customer with Clayton auto for quite some time and up until this point they have been great. I’ve been trying to get a car situation handled for 3 days now and it seems the manager is to busy to take care of a current customer or return a phone call.

Horrible customer service! Have been a customer for quite sometime and severely regret it. Very unprofessional and lack basic communication skills. Would not recommend! Save your money and time and shop elsewhere.

My friend bought a traverse and has been putting money into that car every since she bought it. Its currently in the shop and they called the shop and offered them 50.00 for the release of her car. This company is not good for business. STAY AWAY

I got a 2010 Chevy Impala from Clayton Clinton Hwy the one that is now closed down I am a single hard working mom and I believed that I was buying a great car Luke told me that they had put a lot of money in this car and all I would have to do is get oil changes I did that the entire time I had the car within the first two months it ran hot and the air went out and the blend door actuators went out took it back they replaced holes and fixed the air but I had to pay for the blend actuators which was fine but a couple months later the water pump goes out and the blend door actuators go out as well I found a shop to replace all blend door actuators and replace the water pump and I had to also replace a thermostat witch was a bit much sense I have only had the car 6 months a couple of months go by now my alternator goes out got that fix now a couple of more months go by and now the motor has locked up this was a bad car from the go and they knew that they wanted to pay half to get the motor fixed but no I have already put to much money in this car they have no mechanics so these cars or just been thrown on the lot I called after they came and picked the car up to get to some agreement to still pay for the car but not at what was still owed on it the guy hung up in my face I called back and some one else answered and wanted to take a message. He could have worked with me to make payments at a smaller amount but he was very rude saying you had the car a year but I had the car nine months before the motor went out and this car had all updated oil changes I had two mechanics to look at it they both could not understand why the motor locked up cause the oil was fresh but it still went out and the blend door actuators have went out again to this was a 7 thousands dollar car 2010 Impala 108000 miles way over priced I trusted that they sold me a good car but nope and they have the nerve to be rude when I’m trying to work something out but I will spend every dime of mine to go to court on this I have my paper work cause this have to stop selling bad cars to hard working people that don’t deserve that this is a business you suppose to stand behind your product and Clayton Motors have failed me and many others just sad what these companies will do to get money

The dealership was very nice, they didnt have any junkers on the full lot, every car I viewed seemed like it was more than worth the asking price. Brandon the salesman was fun to talk too, obviously knew a bit about the cars he was selling, and didnt treat me like a customer but a friend. Will definitely do business with them in the future, especially since they financed to me even though I have basically no credit and am only 20.

Stopped by after checking them out online! Advertising $295 Down which I had $500 & boy best credit but a good co-signer! They Immediately said no once I told them the down payment I had before anymore could be said! Told me theres nothing lower than $1200-$1400 down & sorry! I read the reviews and I still gave them a chance being I had bad credit and they were the only ones willing to take a chance. I asked about a car over the phone and when I got there they tried to sell me another one. I test drove the one I asked about and it went smooth but I then saw another car that I knew was very good and wa told that it was too much wrong with it. The car I asked about was in good condition and all I would probably need was an oil change and tires because so much money was poured into it. I didnt trust my judgement and demand to see the other car and took his word for it after I asked 3 times if there was anything else wrong with the car. So the reason for the 2 stars is because Ive had the car less than a month and its stopped (while driving) twice. Its an as is place and they wont do anything about it so now I have to still make my payment for two years and figure out what is wrong with the car and pray its not expensive. I would love for car places to not screw us over like this just because were vulnerable but thats asking for too much I guess. Beware if you have no other option like I did and listen to your gut I wish I did smh*UPDATE the car I asked about that they said had too many things wrong with it is still on the website to be sold for 5995 smhUPDATE 2: So because I wrote a truthful experience instead of calling you you now cant do anything? If you really wanted to do something about YOU selling me the car you did you would. I wouldnt recommend Vantage Finance to nobody. I have had two cars through them and I have never been late with a payment. I was furloughed since March from the covid. I kept my payments up the whole time till now when unemployment extra money has ran out. I was late with one payment and they came and took my car. I wouldnt give them the one star but it will not let you leave a comment without one star.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! I purchased a vehicle from them with cash, did well on the test drive, but the next day i drive the vehicle and the check engine light is on and i run the codes there is five codes. Clear them out and they come right back. Then I noticed the more I drove it the rear end started whining and is locking up. Then shortly after the transmission is out. I didnt even have the car 2 weeks and the transmission is out and has a huge number of problems. So from reading other reviews these people take these trades in with all these problems and fix it up and clear the codes on the computer to where it does ok on the test drive. They claim now they are not liable and I signed an AS IS agreement. So now I Clayton Used Cars has now left me stranded with a vehicle I spent ALL the money I had with a hunk of junk right before Christmas. Thanks to the guys at Clayton Used Cars you have wasted my time, money, and turned my situation into needing a reliable car into a living nightmare. I hope no one ends up in my situation with these SCAM artists! Sorry Clayton Used Cars Nothing in this review is misstated, nothing in this review is untrue. Hayden was amazing. After dealing with deceitful sales tactics at another dealer, I stopped into Clayton just before closing to look around. I came to look at a specific Mercedes. The process was fairly straightforward. After initial numbers crunching and approval, we went for quite a long test drive and made conversation as if we were old friends catching up. Even though they were already closed and Haydens wife was waiting at home to eat dinner, he never seemed rushed or in a hurry. Management was also very accommodating from answering any questions I had, to making the financing process work for me, and even going so far as advising me as to how to best utilize and leverage this purchase to improve my future credit scores. I really couldnt have asked for a better car buying experience than what I was shown here. 100/10, would recommend to anyone.

Bought my Chevrolet Equinox in September. Worked with me on down-payment. Gassed it before i picked it up and cleaned it. Its going on 6 months now and it still runs beautifully. I definitely do not regret buying this vehicle from this company!

Horrible service!!!!!! I am making payments on a vehicle I purchased last year from them. First time buyer with no cosigner. Stuck with a 29% interest rate basically paying what the car isnt worth and dealerships will not accept as a trade due to that. The real problem occurred this year in May. My car needed a new radiator, I took it to them in May and they were not corresponding at all and whenever I called Chad, the manager, was not in and no one could tell me what was going on. This went on for a month up until I called the mechanic who said that Chad had not contacted him at all. A week or so goes by of me nagging them and they call and tell me my car is fixed. However, I pick it up and it takes all five minutes to see my car is still overheating. I take it back and its the same thing again. I call the mechanic again after a months time and he says the exact same thing about Chad not calling him so I decided to cut Clayton out and pay out of pocket due to me being a college student and my classes started in a week. LONG STORY SHORT DONT BY FROM CLAYTON THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!

No matter how desperate you are, avoid purchasing a vehicle here at all costs. I bought a truck from them and within 48 hours, a check engine light came on. After owning the vehicle less than a year, it left me and my children stranded on the side of the road in the middle of no where at midnight. The engine and transmission failed and I paid $3300 to replace them out of my pocket. Less than 6 months after that, it now needs an additional $1500 repair for the braking system because while driving, the brakes went out and I could not stop the vehicle. Their interest rates are insane, it amazes me how this is even legal. You can never trade in their vehicles either, every dealer I go to says these people buried me in negative equity. I now owe $12,000 on a $4,000 vehicle and I’m out of pocket all the ridiculous repair bills. I even called their general manager to see if they would be of any assistance, and he said” yeah we don’t really deal with negative equity here”? No kidding, you just dish it out to people that don’t know any better. Absolutely ridiculous business practice.

Have only $4k left to pay off current vehicle. Wanted to trade it in for my dream car. So went in to trade my current in for it. They could easily turn around and sell my current car for $9k no problem if not more. They wanted me to give them my car plus another $3k down! Absoultely ridiculous. These are not the people to do business with. I will be paying my car off and taking my business elsewhere. If you can avoid this place at all i would advise you do so. I have paid them already more than what my current car is worth even by retail and the one i wanted they had it over priced by almost $5k.

This company is absolutely terrible. Traded in my car for one of theirs and not even a month later the check engine light is on and begins flashing. Car completely loses horsepower and begins to shake vigorously. After letting my mechanic look at it the car needs new plugs, cylinder, and cover. After contacting the group they told me they couldnt foresee upcoming maintenance but could suggest a fair mechanic (who Im sure is probably on the payroll). If youre looking for a new car I highly suggest you go elsewhere.

I did a credit application online. Called the dealership multiple times, ofcourse the salesman that was over my information hadnt been available. He finally calls me only to tell me the down payment that I already knew about from txt. Didnt know I had a trade in and clearly knew nothing about my credit application that I filled out. All he said was Id have to come down for them to look at my trade in to value it. I guess they are too busy in meetings to deal with customers? Just feel like they are unprofessional. My credit was ran by them but I get no you were approved for this or denied. All I get was him repeating his self about the buy here pay here down payment from the txt message I received.. Thanks for putting an extra inquiry on my credit and wasting my time...

They worked with my situation to help me get a really nice car. I got a much nicer car that I thought I could.

In March of 2017 we went and got a truck from them. It was a 2002 one owner truck with 94,000 miles on it. We were told it would be a 3 year loan at a 11 percent interest rate. Almost two years later, its still a amazing vehicle. No problems at all. Today, we went back to trade it in for a car. We dont have much use for a truck anymore and we wanted the gas mileage of a car, versus a V8 truck. We filled the application out, and they came back out and said we would have to have 3 or 4 thousand down, ontop of the trade in. He said that would cover the difference on the pay off of the truck. We still owe 7,000. So they were only going too give us 3 or 4 thousand on the truck. Well, we got to thinking about it. How do we still owe 7,000 on the truck after paying on it for two years, and that was the asking price to begin with!? So we asked him, and he proceeded to tell us that it showed that our interest rate was 22 percent, and we still have 64 payments! So that would be a total of 7 years we will be paying on this 2002 vehicle! They flat out lied through their teeth to us when we went and bought our vehicle! We have been told that we are great customers, and have a 100 percent payment history. They really helped us get a vehicle when we were stranded with nothing, so I have been referring everyone we know to them! Now I feel horrible for doing so! I was just about to get me a vehicle in my name through them, but definitely not now! NEVER AGAIN!

BUYER BEWARE!! My boyfriend bought a car from Clayton Used Cars this summer. It was his first car buying experience, and this company completely took advantage of him. They sold him a Chevy Equinox as is for about $8,000. Granted, he should have known better than to buy a car as is for sticker price, but as I said, this was his first car buying experience. Two weeks into having the vehicle, it died. When he called the company to explain the situation, they basically told them there was nothing they could do. After further negotiation, they agreed to have the car towed to THEIR mechanic. The mechanic kept his car for about a week before any determination was made of what the issue was. At that time, they informed him that the engine was essentially blown. He had no funds to pay for a new engine, and without a vehicle, he had no means of transportation to his job and would obviously not be able to pay the balance on the car, so he told them to keep it. About a week later, he was informed that they had sold the car at auction. After that, they still sent him bills for the vehicle stating that the amount he owed was still valid, even though the car was now in their possession. Now the financing company is threatening to come after him for the debt he still owes on the car (which he does not have anymore). This is the most crooked company I have ever dealt with, even considering the mistakes that were made by the consumer. They will sell you a lemon with a smile on their faces. If you are a first time car buyer, be extremely careful dealing with any used car dealership, and DO NOT use this one.

Sales person, tho very young, was very sweet and helpful. One week after buying car (2012 w 130k miles) it was down w a bad alternator. Called Clayton and was reminded car was sold as is...yeah, one WEEK ago! Mechanics (2 of them) told me battery had been replaced as a patch for a known bad alternator. Daughter WAS going to get a vehicle there but has now changed her mind. BUYER BEWARE and get a mechanic to check it out. If you get stung like I did I can hook you up with a great honest mechanic...but if you buy from a dealership instead of here you can save some money, aggravation, and tow bills.

This car dealership are pure rip offs and do not mind stealing from people. My daughter bought a Ford Explorer here and it drove weird so she took it to her Mechanic and he said he would not let her drive it any where and the only way to get it back would be to tow it where she needed it to go because the rear end differential was OUT! She was new in town and knew nothing of the reputation of this place so the car was towed to the Mechanic at Clayton to then fix the differential. They fixed it and I got it back only then to have 3 fuel pumps go out and find out they purchased the differential from a pull your own part place!!!! She then went into Clayton to call out their bad business tactics and Chad said he was new and would like to make this right so he put her in a Ford Fusion. She was not happy about going back into a car but undecided to go ahead with it. 25 perfect payments later she tried to go trade in the Fusion at ANOTHER dealer and was told she had a branded title.....they then explained what branded was to her and its TOTALED! wow, they assured her all was clean when she purchased the Fusion at Clayton. This car lot said the best thing would be to purchase another vehicle and take back the Fusion to Clayton. So she did. But check this out, while she was getting insurance on her new vehicle her insurance lady told her she use to Work with Clayton a lot and stated Clayton will take an application of people and process it and then banks like credit unions will then deny the application saying they found a totaled title and the vehicle is nothing close to being worth what they are asking for the vehicle. So say Clayton processes a vehicle for 19,000 the bank will say we found a totaled title and the vehicle is only worth 5,000, so Clayton goes to the purchaser and says the app was denied and we can finance it through our financing (buy here pay here). People, the banks see this and Clayton is covering all this! I think I smell a Class A law suit!!! Who would like to do this with her? Amazing people and easy to work with, great deals and great cars

Clayton Auto is the absolute worst business I have ever encountered. I went looking for a vehicle yesterday. Stopped by Clayton . The salesman came out (very arrogant & unfriendly), told me to come in to see if he could finance me. Did not ask me which car I was interested in, no test drive, did not ask my name or nothing. Ask how much money I made. Before I even got inside, him & another rude man had my income level pulled up & said I was high risk because I didnt make at least $2600 in social security. Told me not to bother going to any other Clayton Auto because they say the same thing. These people were very snobby & disrespectful . I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.

They gave me a good deal and helped me out a lot. I will come back.

I came in not looking to get a car and Hayden set with me and went over everything and took me to see Phillip and they done the numbers and worked with me a couple days later I had a car uns done know how much I needed 1 and it means to me to help me get it and thank uns for helping me understand what I reading and signing and thank you Hayden for helping me when I was nervous lol

My girlfriend wanted me to ride along to give my option on vehicle dependability. She test 3 different vehicles, without even driving them myself I was quickly aware of the clunkers on this lot. Yes i know dealers have to make profit, but come onn! Not even a warranty. Not to mention the cubby salesman tried to belittle me in the office. Saying to the girlfriend that it was her car, why does my input matter. I called em out on the mechanical issues during the test drives, they dont like anyone riding along calling out issues. Out of all the lots we went to , Clayton was the only place the wanted to ride along. Kept talking the whole time. As to hide any engine noise or whatnot. Id recommend anyone going here take a mechanical inclined person to scope out the junk from the not so junkie.

Was Not allowed to test drive a $5000 vehicle without filling out a credit application. Drove down to Just Auto the same day and bought a more expensive vehicle after being able to test drive it.

I have been doing bussibus with Clayton used cars since 2009 they have always done me good my first car broke down before I paid it off and the manager foxed fo and added to my fiance charges which saved me at the time they work hard to help take care of you if you make your payments on time! Im now on my 3rd car from this company

If I could give 0 I would...after signing got 5 min down the road and check engine light came on, gave me run around bout o2 sensor and kept re setting light... turns out it had jumped time and timing belt was about to give out.. mechanic wouldnt even let me drive it after..

Doesnt know their inventory from a hole in the ground. Didnt mean to interrupt your sleeping on your couch at work. But thank we did get our suv at dealership just down the road.

Go somewhere else. Cars are not dependable. First one blew up first week, they put me in another one, it blew up a few months later. Still paying on them. No car to show for it.
