Came here for lunch today, and ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger meal. It was just the right amount of food to leave me feeling pleasantly full, and the meat itself was cooked perfectly to order (I ordered the burger medium-cooked). The service was nice and relatively quick.My only real critique would be that the fries could use a pinch more salt. Otherwise, it was a good experience and was worth the price.The music was slightly quieter than the first time I came in a month or so ago, which I also appreciated. It wasnt too busy (~1-2 PM?).Im thinking about coming back to try the desserts in the pastry case near where the grill orders are taken. They look very very tempting.

Went during the city market, so it was busy, but they were great with getting drinks done quickly and letting you know before ordering food how long a wait itll be. It was worth the wait! I got the fuzzy navel smoothie and the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich. A very tasty smoothie, not to mention the best biscuit Ive ever tasted!

Great place! Drinks were awesome! Atmosphere really relaxed! I had Strawana smoothie. You can taste the strawberry and banana all on there!

I got the avocado burger. I asked for it medium rare. It came out twice well done. My advice is don’t get a burger here. My girlfriend and friends loved there breakfast food. The biscuits and gravy were amazing but they do not know how to cook burgers by any means

Our barista was wonderful and we had the Italian soda and their fall beverage of hazelnut hot chocolate! There was a grill area and a beautiful bakery area in the rear of the establishment.

We love doing coffee dates. The Opera house offers a unique experience in City market with a common seating area for various restaurants. The coffee shop there does a fantastic hob with thier locally roasted coffees. Breakfast was delicious! This is a regular stop for us.

I enjoy going here on my lunch break. Its a cozy and inviting place to hangout, and the food is one of my favorites in all of the river marker.The coffee there is, unsurprisingly, amazing. I like that they have a rewards card too.The raspberry beret is the best!

This place has it all and if we stayed longer in Kansas City we would have tried this place for all it has. There is a coffee shop, grill that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, a bakery, and a bar. Great flow in the place overall, lots of seating options.The coffee is outstanding! Highly recommend the hazelnut latte with vanilla. They also can do sugar free versions of some. The potatoes as a side for breakfast are delicious. We also had a cranberry apricot scone and it was SO delicious! Great spot. Highly recommend! Thanks for being open Memorial Day so we could visit!

Confusing to new customers.you walk in and dont know where to go. The upper bar is for smoothies, coffees and lots of other beverages. You pay for those drinks there. If you want food you go to the back and order off a menu board and pay for it there then you look for a seatI ordered the 6 largechicken wings but they were more like pigeon size. There was a hard crust on them. I ordered the sweet chili sauce and it was thin and runny. Not much meat for $8The steak fries were good

This is a great place for breakfast. Well, probably lunch and dinner too, but have only had the breakfast here. The potatoes are perfectly cooked, and the sausage gravy is a MUST! The staff is always friendly and super helpful.

Coffee station is absolute mess. When it gets busy they just put the drinks at the pickup station out of order and dont say what it is loud enough to hear so you have to figure out what it is by the scribbles on the cup. I was waiting after it calmed down to say I have not gotten my drink yet, but none of the baristas seem to care that there was a person still waiting without a drink. Terrible coffeehouse experience.Also ordered veggie breakfast burrito and veggie omelette. Burrito was very greasy inside and didnt have much flavor and omelette had absolutely no taste. The potatoes that came with it were OK, but I think thats because they were frozen. Really dont get all the positive reviews. You CAN go wrong with breakfast items (response to another review)

Nice relaxing atmosphere with low key music playing. Big breakfast menu and a nice variety of burgers, salads and gourmet eats! The chicken Caesar salad is fresh and it’s loaded with a hearty helping of chicken. There’s also an awesome coffee bar with bubble tea! Their dessert case is full of delicious cakes, meringues and pies. *kids chicken tenders is a very large portion!

I love the Opera House and go frequently to do work. The staff is really nice and genuine. I have yet to get something I dont like but their bakery goods are especially great.

Coffee is exceptional...my granddaughter had biscuits and gravy...I tried it...very good. I had an omelet...not exceptional...potatoes were very good. If I go back for breakfast, will stay with traditional ham and eggs.

The food was fantastic! The atmosphere was very old times and calming I really enjoyed the quiet time with my friend while we enjoyed breakfest I strongly recommend the garden Benedict! The eggs where cooked perfectly and you could tell the spinach was fresh!

Bloody Mary from the bar is good. Breakfast food was decent but cheap. However, the coffee place has these giant cookies that look delicious. But they made a big mistake. They labeled their oatmeal raisin cookie as just oatmeal. So I bought their delicious cookie and had to spit it out because the raisins ruined it. Beware of falsely labeled cookies.

Taro bubble tea was really dreamy. It is a new favorite. Good vibes I really like the coffee the couple times I have been here and my daughter a first timer loved her bubble tea. The barista was very friendly as well!

The layout is really weird. You have to pay as you go. If you want a drink from the bar you cash out, then if you want food you cash out. They dont put everything on one tab. So using your card multiple times is very likely, which I did not care for. Food is just okay. The portions seemed small for the price. The biscuit and gravy was good but they didnt give enough gravy.

I had a raspberry smoothie and it was super good, and I drank it in a comfy seat. With nice local at to look at. Great experience.

Local. Fun, and right at one of the street car stops. Easy to find right at the entrance to the River Market...this place is a gem and a unique local spot that gives you yummy food, coffee and stuff to do with a cool urban KC vibe.

Went for breakfast. Waited 40 minutes before asking where our order was. Theyd list it. Lady was VERY apologetic & nice. Put the order through STAT & gave us a full refund. 55 minutes total wait. Breakfast burrito & fruit bowl very nice , Benedict was ok, little bland; potatoes nicely crisped.

A unique place for sure - tons on the menu and lots of space to chill out with a group or by yourself with some headphones. The extensive choices make this place feel like a food court but with a much better vibe. The sweet potato fries are amazing!

Great food! Great service. Cool music. Pancakes and wings were perfect, and theres not too many pancakes that I like.

Absolutely love this place. I dont go to downtown KC often but this is my favorite spot. If you like coffee, milkshakes, Italian sodas youll find just about anything you need here.

My favorite thing to order is a taro milk tea or chai tea latte, but the drink menu has something for everyone. The food is also good, and you cant go wrong with any of the breakfast options. Cool place!

Hands down the best place Ive ate in all the times Ive been in Kansas city Missouri! The food is amazing, the staff is so nice and helpful the place is so nice with a good vibe! And after u can still go out side and look around the city market!

This is my favorite place! The food is delicious. Im a huge fan of breakfast all day. My favorites are the biscuits and gravy and the chicken and waffle. Their paninis are delicious too if you want lunch or dinner. The coffee is also phenomenal; Im addicted to the nitro cold brew. As if that wasnt enough, they also have a fantastic bar, including an amazing selection of boozy coffee drinks. Still not satisfied? They have a bakery too! The real cherry on the top, though, is that everyone who works here is super nice and so helpful.

Customer service was great! And had my coffee by the time I got my change back. Will be back again!

Nothing special here. It’s all just okay. The ordering process is convoluted as 🤬. I’m guessing they’re short staffed because the wait time for eggs was crazy. Our server was very good so one of stars is strictly based on her service. Over priced coffee drinks and cocktails. I had a pastry that was so hard I think it had been in the case for weeks👎.

Cool environment for a coffee shop /eaterie. It has plenty of tables to hold a face to face meeting or just work on the computer. Definitely will be using it as a meeting place again.

Relaxed atmosphere with good views of the City Market and street car. They have a great selection of Coffee, Tea, Smoothies and Fresh Juices. Breakfast is served all day - we ordered the Biscuit Sausage & Egg Sandwich, Pancakes and Porker Omelet.

My whole family loves this place. For my wife and me, its our neighborhood hangout. The food is delicious (Im a big fan of the street tacos) Always fresh and served with a smile by the friendly staff. Did I mention the house burger and fries? Best in town combination.

Yesterday was a fantastic experience. It wasnt busy so all workers were in good moods. Dont let busy weekend crowds put you in foul moods, baristas. Also, the lady at the food counter was pleasant yesterday.

I do so adore this little hidden treasure. Everyone is so great, the food and treats are top notch.. but the coffee is what we go for! Best Ive had in quite some time, and I drink ALOT of coffee. Especially with a scone that is also one of Kansas Citys best. Cool atmosphere... no matter what time of day or night.

Very fun place set up with separate serving counters that include a drink/coffee/tea counter, a bakery, a food counter, and a counter for alcohol. The breakfast options are very good. Very good biscuits and gravy. The breakfast potatoes were delicious. The bakery is full of so many fabulous and delicious sweets. The pumpkin cheesecake is so good. The red velvet cupcake has a great chocolate flavor with the best cream cheese frosting. And the lemon bars were so good that my son finished it and then said, oh, should I have shared that?

What a wonderful place for your morning coffee or full on breakfast. After a visit to the City Market we set out for breakfast. I’ve walked by this establishment many times but never stopped in. I’ll admit, I am disappointed in myself for not coming sooner.Their coffee bar rivals that of any national chain. They can mix up your drinks with the best of them. If you’re in need something a little stronger, perhaps to help with your hangover from the night before, they have a full service bar with a friendly bartender waiting to help.When we first walked in I was thing they’d have the normal coffee shop breakfast like muffins, pastries or an egg sandwich. Boy was I wrong! The offer a full breakfast menu with some amazing items!We went with the Chicken & Waffles and the French toast. Both were delicious. We didn’t end up getting anything from the bakery but trust me it’s on my to do list the next time I’m in Kansas City.They don’t offer table service so you just walk on to the counter, order your food, take your number and wait for all that deliciousness to be delivered to you.Enjoy!

My boyfriend works just up the street so we’ve gone here a few times for breakfast and coffee. I love it so much! Their coffee is amazing and they have so many more options than other coffee places. I love their honey lavender latte! Their bakery is incredible; not only are the treats super cute and presentable, but they’re delicious! We’ve had their gyro specials too and yum!

The food was just OK. Service was alright. The food was expensive for the portion size and there was no cilantro or lime on their street tacos which was supposed to have Pico de gio on them. It was disappointing.

Best coffee Ive ever had in KC! I had an iced sweet emotion and my husband had a iced chai (They have alternatives for milk). The staff were nice and not too busy (Wednesday at 9am). We will 100% come again!

My favorite place for many things. Excellent coffee and fresh juices. Freshly made and well prepared food as well as a nice place to meet a friend for a quiet cocktail after work. All the staff are friendly and work well as a team giving it a very comfortable laid-back and friendly vibe.

Really cute place right in the river market area - we hadnt been inside very often for things other than the coffee, which is delicious. The baristas often must be really exhausted because they rarely give you so much as a smile and mishear orders pretty frequently. The scones are to die for, so is the coffee and a lot of stuff from the grill, but the macarons were stale and $2.65 apiece. I wont be getting those again but I will be visiting again. Someday.

Great hip atmosphere. Good multi level layout. Clean and interesting. Food is great. Had a Southwest burger cooked perfectly (med rare) and fries were also fantastic. Staff is very kind. Service was a touch slow but worth it if youre having out and watching the people traffic from the City Market.

This is a great location for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They make outstanding beverages. The wife had coffee and my sons had hot chocolate. Thier breakfast is amazing. They have a very diverse menu with a number of tasty options. They have a bakery on location that serve amazing pasteries. They have a great atmosphere that projects a welcoming environment. I would definitely recommend this location. Thumbs up!

I love the atmosphere here. Its such a relaxed corner coffee house, restaurant, and bar. The food is amazing and they have wonderful bloodys. Everyone is friendly. Parking is pretty ample around there if its not a crazy weekend in City Market, but its extremely conveniently located right at a streetcar stop!

This is a unique area near the Farmers Market. We went in thinking it was simply a restaurant, but as it was explained, its almost like a food court but under one business. Theres a grill, a bar, a bakery, and a drink shoppe. The prices of the food were amazing, with good portions. We chose our seating. Its a great atmosphere when you just want to go somewhere and not have to worry about being waited on the whole time (the bar would probably be the exception). Would recommend and go here again!

Stumbled upon this when we got off the streetcar looking for a good place for the family to eat. Lots of menu options from all day breakfast to burgers and sandwiches at the cafe window. Plus espresso drinks and smoothies at the coffee bar. Everything was delicious, staff was very friendly and accommodating, even with my young children.

Stopped in for breakfast and food was very good. Had breakfast burrito and veggie breakfast sandwich. Order at counter service and was also a bakery and coffee area with coffee teas, fresh juices and shakes. Loved the atmosphere. Best bloody Mary Ive ever had as well.

A solid breakfast spot with good coffee and a fun environment.My group and I grabbed a quick breakfast at the Opera House that ranged from a breakfast burrito to a veggie breakfast sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food and the coffee was also quite good. Nothing fancy or over the top but very solid.Its a clean and well maintained spot that looks like it would have a fun night life.Im kicking myself for not trying out some of the items from the bakery counter but everything looked great.

A wide variety of food options which is great. They have delicious coffee cocktails as well. My only qualm was that their pancakes were sub par.

I love grabbing coffee or a Fuzzy Navel when I’m feeling parched. The food is great here too. The all day breakfast has been a much needed comfort during pandemic. Speaking of breakfast, their biscuits and gravy are THE best I’ve found in the KC metro (and believe me, I’ve been almost everywhere). It has everything I want: crunchy outside, fluffy inside, buttery flavor, dense but crumbly texture. The gravy is also incredible. Chunky bits of sausage, creamy texture, a hint of peppery spice. If you’re craving it, this is the best b&g fix you’re going to find in town.

When walking from my seat with my drink barista demanded I wear a mask. Even with a drink in my hand...drinking. Opera house has been a favorite place to spend my money on countless visits, but this kind of activity will quickly lose my business.

They put chopped bacon inside my waffle and nowhere on the menu does it say chicken and waffles come with bacon inside the waffle. Plus i told the waitress no pork.

I have visited this place pre-Covid, a few times, and it was great. Post-covid, the service was good, but it was not my usual day or meal. It was beer at 5pm. Lets do this again on my next visit. Still, great place!
