A nice place to go to for charging my phone and hearing about God. They also have a separate section where they dont preach. Nice environment. Also a delicious stake grinder for 7.59$. And a bagel for with cream cheese nicely toasted for 2.25$. They give me small ice and water cups... :(

Great prices, beautiful decor. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it is for the area. The prices are fantastic (large delicious latte is 3.75, which would be 6+ somewhere like river market a couple miles away). Lovely atmosphere and people. I just wish they were open more; Id go hang out and read on Sundays or after work if it was open.

Best coffee house in town

I have been brewing (not roasting) my own coffee for about 6 years now doing both pour over and espresso. They made great espresso and drip coffee. Parking was easy. If I lived in KC this place would be on my regular visit list. They have their own roasted coffee to boot.

Loved the quiet and calm of the establishment. Loved that this is a ministry that helps the community. Food is absolutely delicious and the service is phenomenal. Staff are extremely friendly and every patron was polite as well. Want to bring many friends and family now.

This coffee shop is best place in Kansas City. I love the white tiger, the chia pudding, and biscuits and gravy. They also do bible study Tuesday through Saturday.

I give them 5 stars because of the help they give to ppl in need. For 2 years they helped me with food to feed my kids when I had no money. I was all alone in a big city and they gave me hope.... So for that I SAY THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Oasis with engagement! A wonderful atmosphere on the northeast side and they also engage the community, bridging those in other parts of the metro who want to meet real needs. A fantastic source of quality bulk coffee beans both whole and ground and you can do it all on line. But stop in at least for some great drink treats or even a bite to eat!!!

Nice decor. Very friendly staff. Pretty good coffee. Some sandwiches and a few sweets. Pretty reasonable prices. Parking is free either on street or in a small lot behind the building. The point of the coffee shop is community outreach - theres Bible study or something downstairs. That being said, you probably wouldnt know that by the building, decorations, or interactions. I appreciate that - no proselytizing. A unique gem for this area. I should stop by more often.

I totally judged the place before I went inside because the outside looked Ghetto/trashy but I was wrong, will definitely recommend and comeback!!PS thier homemade mint brownies is something I never had before, and was amazing just like people that run the place.

This is the best coffee to be found in the Historic Northeast. Friendly folk, welcoming room. And next door they truly help the neighborhood by feeding the homeless.

Love Eleos coffee! The Guatemala is my favorite, and I like all of their lattes as well :-) Breakfast and lunch food are good! The bagel breakfast sandwich is my go to. And you cant help but love how they love their community! Wonderful atmosphere.

Excellent service with more than mere profit in mind. Their purpose is more than to exist for itself. It is about the people. Plus, their coffee is amongst the best in town (I say this in confidence) and they are one of my favorite places to have lunch. They care about their neighborhood. I came into today, 4/24/2014, to get out of the house because it is raining and rain makes me want to sleep. I have some writing to complete for a Culminating Project. This was a great place to be to help me focus. Excellent freshly-roasted coffee and lunch bites on Independence Avenue in the historic Northeast KC. This place is a treasure to those traveling through and a huge blessing to locals. They host community events and social outreach programs for the needy of their neighborhood. Absolutely worth a visit.

A wonderful local coffee shop. I live in Oregon and we are abundant with individually owned coffee shops. This in one of the best and must be the best in KC and pretty much all the others are Starbucks.

Nice, Cozy coffee shop, the only one in my neighborhood. Very friendly employees and delicious coffee. The Chai tea is my favorite in KC. Dont be concerned if you are not religious, I am an atheist and feel very welcome and you can barely hear the Christian music. Definitely check out Eleos coffee.

I love that tjey have a mission. Also the staff are so friendly. The food is very fresh and scrumptious. My favorite is breakfast sliders, be hungry or share it if you are not.

They are not open on Sun or Mon. The staff is friendly. They frequently hold meetings in the lower room. The main section isnt handicapped accessible. It is a nice place to bring your laptop and work.

Okay, so Im at Eleos everyday from Monday through Friday. It is a job- my job- and Im proud to be an Eleos barista. Eleos means coffee- excellent coffee- lattes and other specialty drinks too- but it also means connecting. Connecting with people- and with Truth. We strive to be an oasis of sorts- and we have often heard folks comment that the ambiance of the coffee shop is peaceful, inviting, warm, and friendly. I agree. It is that way because of the people we serve here- and more importantly, because of the nature of the One we serve here. Jesus is worthy!

I love Eleos. Its location is unexpected and suprised me when I found it. Its part of my hood so theres some pride there. But I love their coffee and they have real baristas who are friendly and will remember you. Starbucks can kiss a fat babys ass.

Its not my favorite coffeehouse in the city, but what they serve at Eleos is excellent. I will freely admit that I am not that into the christian outlook held by the store, but the people who work there are wonderful, and Ive yet to go in and have anything less than a pleasant experience with anyone working there, or even anyone whos come in the store. Very friendly people, good coffee, fairly knowledgeable baristas, and I am very happy to see these guys in the old Northeast. This is what the area needed.

Walk away from the commercial coffee house and get a cup at Eleos.

Theres just so many good things to say about Eleos but the one thing that I want to share is the level of love you feel when you walk in is so calming and the staff is willing to help and pray and stand by your side like Jesus dose if you believe in him.
