I was looking for Sig Sauer P320 X-Five Legion. After hunting over 150 gun store to find this gun they had it. Jose was awesome to talk to answered all my questions. They also did a great job in the follow up of shipping my gun in a timely manner. Communicate with my gun store to help push getting the FFL information done so they could ship the gun as soon as possible. Its rare to see this kind of follow up and follow through on things. Was actually looking for some gunsmith punches. The previous I have. Worked but had trouble, and bent. Some even broke. They where made in the USA. Not a gunsmith, but I work on Browning Hi-power and replicas. The Scopesmith sent me a picture of professional gunsmith punches, that I can purchase. Plus I need a new scope for my Remington 700 ADL .308 Win. Woodstock. If he gave me good advice, I know he will give good advice on scopes. 👍

I purchased a nightforce atacr from him a couple years back. He really knows his business and the attention to detail he used mounting the scope is second to none. I am looking to get another scope from him now and know when he mounts it, it will be 100% right, torqued to spec and all.

I wanted a new Scope for my hunting rifle. I went by the Scopesmith shop and Jose asked what I was looking for. I told him I wanted a scope that would be for hunting only and that I want an Illuminated Reticle. He recommended a Nightforce SHV series. I was happy with the price and that it included expert installation. I would recommend Scopesmith to anyone looking for a scope.

I went by the Scopesmith on my lunch break. They are a US Optics dealer and I wanted to check, pricing, availability and talk with someone to see if that is truly what I need for my new custom build I’m planning. I talked with the owner and he tells me they have one in stock with one of the reticals I’m considering. There was a customer there waiting on the owner to mount his scope. The customer over hears our conversation about the US Optics scope and chimes in on how he has one and really likes it. The owner goes to the back and the waiting customer and I make small talk about the scope and he is trying to convince me to step it up and buy the Schmidt and Bender scope that the Scopesmith sells instead. I look down at my watch and notice I have to go back to the office my lunch break is over. I take one of the fliers on the counter and decide that it would be worth while to go look up some information on the Schmidt and Bender scope and come back another day when I have more time to spend looking at the scopes.As I was walking out of the store and was 15 yards away, The owner comes storming out of the door and in an angry tone with his arms flared out he yells “HEY...CAN I HELP YOU”. I told him my lunch break is over but, I got some good information that I want to look up and I’ll be back another time. He tells me “dont come back if I’m just going to talk guns with his customer in his shop”. I couldn’t believe it!!. I responded with “fine, you just lost a sale”. His customer started the conversation with me, not the other way around.After such a terrible experience with Scopesmith, I looked on line and found out Tactical Firearms in Katy is a US Optics dealer. Drove there and the people could not have been nicer. They let me take the US Optics scope outside along with a Nightforce scope to see the differences. The prices were WAY BETTER too. I bought the scope there and saved some serious money.

I was in the market for a new rifle and stopped in The Scopesmith. I was met by the owner, Jose, and after talking with him for a few minutes, I knew I was in the right place and talking to the right guy. In one word, Jose is “professional”. This extends to his help selecting a rifle and scope, as well as his gunsmithing abilities. If in doubt, just watch him mount a scope. His background as an engineer shows through when you see him use feeler gauges to make sure that each gap on the scope rings match exactly! The store carries a lot of high-end pistols (Colt, Sig, Kimber, etc.), rifles (Blaser, Sako, IWRC, Barrett, etc), and scopes (Schmidt & Bender, Nightforce, etc), but what was refreshing is that Jose did not undersell or oversell me. There is nothing worse than buying a gun that is too fancy or worse yet, one that is below what you need only to have to buy another in a year or two. Unlike the big box dealers, he took his time to help me find exactly what I wanted, at the right price. I could not have been happier with his help and the package that I purchased. As an experienced law enforcement officer, I was also happy to see the store was geared to the responsible, adult hunter/shooter. He can talk the talk with experienced operators and hunters, as well as regular folks just looking for a home defense or carry gun. If you’re looking for a great selection of rifles, pistols and scopes and professional, knowledgeable, friendly help, this is your place…wouldn’t go any place else.
