There is not a better place in Birmingham to take your vehicle for any type of service or repair. The guys at Vulcan always go out of their way to help the customer. They even called my warranty company to check if the parts were covered before the repair was made. This ended up saving me $1300 dollars in parts and labor. They certainly did not have to take the time to make this call but that is just what they do at Vulcan. They have always stood behind their work and one thing that you cant put a price on is the trust the guys at Vulcan provide for their customers. They have a life long customer here! Dont let car problems scare you. Take it to Vulcan Tire in Hoover and rest easy knowing you are in good hands!

These people have no clue what they are doing. Jeff is really the only nice person that works here other than probably some of the techs in the back. Hes always nice and makes sure youre satisfied. Always an attitude from the other folks. Barry, Matt, and the other people really dont even need to be in customer service. Ive done all kinda business with this place so I know what Im talking about here. Anytime I tell them Ive having an issue everything always looks fine. I knew my Xterra was having a cooling system issue but of course they found nothing. Less than a week later Im overheating and having to get the CPU that controls the cooling fan replaced. It went on undiagnosed for so long that Im having to get the radiator replaced too. Had it been handled when I knew I had a problem I wouldnt be replacing the radiator too. There are always busy and you have to drop your car off for hours/days at a time or make an appointment. Wish I would have bought my tires elsewhere. Everything just rubs me the wrong way at this place. If there are any positives to be had its that they always quote the price they are going to charge you. Ive never been surprised by my bill here.

Last Friday, June 18th 2021; after dropping my wife off at dialysis I then went to the Hoover library to get some free lunch for my boys and as I was leaving the library I got a flat tire. I rolled into Vulcan Tire and they were very busy and initially I was told that it would take 2 hours to get my flat tire fixed.Well, to make a long story short I needed to get back to the house to finish packing because we were headed to Florida to visit family. I went back inside and talked to Mr. Jeff Digiorgio and told him my situation and explained about my wife’s health. They normally service vehicles as they come in and give customers the same high level of service. Well, I’m thankful to God that Mr. Jeff could tell I was being truthful and long story short they got me a new tire on and I was only there for 30 minutes. Not only did they help me out but they gave me a great deal on a new tire! More than that; the guys that actually changed my tires were very personable and interacted with my boys and I truly appreciate the way that those technicians interacted with my 11 year old son who has multiple disabilities. They were more than just being nice; those two gentlemen saw my son as a person and not someone with a disability. This place is definitely where I will be going forward future tire needs. Great service and understanding. Thanks again Mr. Jeff and his technicians. May God’s blessings rain down on all of you!!!

Very dismissive and I know for a fact they didn’t do anything to my car like they stated. Having to get a second and third opinion on my car that they stated they didn’t see anything wrong with even though it’s clearly obvious . Would not recommend this place at all.

Always professional great prices on oil changes. My oil change for my truck would have been twice as much somewhere else. Lets you what you need fixed now and what can wait til later. Would recommend them to anyone in need of auto repair or maintenance.

Ive been going here for about 40 years (long before they built this location). Thats probably nuff said. Basically just never a complaint. My son now goes there as well and he is just as satisfied. Clean, well organized, never pushy, free wifi.

Real time example today, brought car in for repair, they looked at it and said it was very minor and not what we originally thought. They fixed the issue and charged me nothing. Very poor customer service and would give no star if possible. Not sure where those good reviews came from.Bought new tires from this place in Feb and started having problems with the tires in less than 2 months.The guy who answered the phone was rude and didn’t want to answer any questions. Arrived at around 10 am on a Saturday. The guys there were very rude too saying they had 20-30 cars they were working on and wouldn’t get it the same day. The guy (named Perry or something) said if I left the car there for weekend, maybe they could get to it on Monday?!— what a huge mistake to purchase the tires from this place and deal with these people!!!

Beware - Very poor customer service and the guys there are very rude. I purchased extended warranty from this Vulcan tires. Went to another place where I needed to pay everything out of pocket to get better service and not having to deal with them.

They were very nice and repaired a punctured lawnmower tire for me quickly.

If I had money I would write this place into my last will & testament tbh. Im new to the area and my brakes were screeching so I just looked at local auto shops that had good reviews, and Im so glad I found Vulcan! I brought my car in like thirty minutes before they closed and it was finished promptly the next morning-- they even tried to see if they could finish it that afternoon! I was so impressed with their services that I went back to them after I hydroplaned twice and was freaking out. I expected to drop a lot of money on new tires, but I basically showed up and said hey I think I need new tires and they literally said hey I dont think you do (I was just going too fast, totally true). To have an auto shop deny paying them a ton for new tires for the sake of honestly, I AM SO IMPRESSED. I was in and out that day in under five minutes and didnt pay anything. I havent had another problem with hydroplaning. I tell everyone now to go to Vulcan! Thank you for being a place we can trust!!

Air conditioner stopped working on the way from Memphis, TN to Florida. Staff was extremely helpful and personable. They recommended a kid friendly restaurant while we waited. We were there less than 2 hours and they had the vehicle running perfectly. Highly recommend!

I locked my keys in my car a few days ago right across the street from their shop and was so relieved to see that help was just across the street. My luck didn’t stop there because when I walked into the store I was greeted by folks who were super quick to assist me and of all the times I’ve locked my keys in my car (more than I’d like to admit) this was the best service I ever received. I cant begin to describe the level of service received here. Went in to buy wheels and tires, when they didnt have what I wanted they drove to another store immediately to get what I needed. It took 5 hours from the time I got into the store to picking up my car. 100% recommend and will use them again

I have been coming to Vulcans various locations for quite some time now. I used to go to the Trussville location back when it was Trussville Tire. I kept going after the renovations, etc because are always truly great. They know my car, and always give good price quotes/guarantees. After a few years of being out of town, I now go to the Hoover location and it felt nice to see familiar faces who are still sweet humans that are willing to take care of their customers. Keep up the great work, Vulcan!

My breaks started squeaking so I took it into Vulcan Tire and Automotive and they told me I had 25% left on my break pad to come back in the next 1 or 2 oil changes. Not even a month later I took it back to go ahead and get them replaced since they were now grinding. They told me my rotors were worn down and needed to be replaced along with my break pads. Wish I new this the first time I was in the shop and not driving my family around with bad break pads and rotors so they could make a dollar off me.

I recently purchased two tires for my vehicle at this Vulcan Tire location. In price comparison, Vulcans pricing was below there competitor, that I have used in the past. Additionally, a problem developed with the TPM system, on my vehicle, after the installation. The team at Vulcan, specifically Jason, went to great lengths to get the problem resolved, and to make sure I had a good experience. I was very pleased with the outcome, and I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

Jeff is the BEST! They helped me fix my Steel Rim that a Pothole bent in Birmingham the night before. They were a lifesaver, since they also found and fixed problems other local places had claim to fix already, but that isnt all! I literally called 20 other places and no one could either provide the service I needed or had the parts I needed on hand; not to mention they all quoted me 2-5 times the price for just the parts not including the labor. I sent 2 pictures to Jeff and he assured me they could fix it when the others said no automatically, without looking, and most not bothering to ask important questions. The only thing I can say negative is that I wish I would have found them sooner, as I could have saved myself a lot of stress and time. They earned a lifetime customer! Ill see them again soon for any and all my car maintenance and repair needs! They stayed busy but were never too busy to stop and help a customer; whether it was a car novice or an expert while I was waiting. They were also accurate on their wait times and informed before they started their work which is a bonus. I was honestly extremely satisfied. They went above and beyond my expectations. All the employees were friendly and helpful and HONEST. I cant ask for anything more.

They took really good care of my husband and I when it was pouring down rain and we were having tire issues. Good teamwork and communication all around to help us in an emergency. Ive had a few flat or low tire pressure issues on my ATS. Each visit they have been honest with the diagnosis, fair on price, and timely in completing service.

THIS IS A WARNING FOR ALL CUSTOMERS, ESPECIALLY FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS:My Ford dealership told me I needed my front rotors machined and the brake pads replaced. I had been monitoring the size left on the pads for the past few oil changes, so I knew they were under 2mm and ready to be replaced. I chose to not pay the dealership the $280 to do it, and I realized after the fact that was a grave mistake.I went to Vulcan Tire and spoke with Jason upon my arrival, and informed him that i would like my front rotors machined and the front pads replaced. He immediately responded with has the truck been here before? After informing him no, he said okay then we will look at them. So, I thanked him, left the keys, and had a ride pick me up.Quick pause: I will try to keep this as short as possible. However, this will be a bit longer of a review. I really encourage everyone to read and not get taken advantage of like I almost did.Shortly after I got home and was working, Jason calls and says yes the pads are almost metal to metal they need to be replaced. This call seemed silly since i just told him they were at 2mm or less, but I understand and appreciate places that call first so I confirmed and said go for it. 230 something dollars is where we are currently at.So, about 45 minutes later Jason calls back and says the rotors are below spec, they cannot machine them and they will need to be replaced for $100.What goes through my head at this point was that it is very strange that my dealership would offer to machine the rotors before replacing the pads the day before, but Vulcan Tire cannot do it. I shrugged this one off, and said okay go ahead and do it. Maybe Vulcan Tire is playing it safe? I respected that, and new rotors are only a hundred bucks so why not. $350 or so for a full brake job isnt bad anyway.Another 30 minutes passes. He calls back AGAIN and says once they pulled the rotors off, they found that the left brake caliper was locked up. These would be another $100 for each side. Typically, when someone replaces one they replace the other. And when you pull a brake caliper, you have to do a brake flush which was another $100. Then, there were labor charges on top of this.I am in sales, so i picked up on a couple of things he did while telling me all of this. He would say well the brake flush is usually a hundred but we can do that for $50 and i wont charge you labor on the calipers.This is a classic sales move, when you are calling someone to inform them of unexpected charges, you give them a discount or you make them feel they are getting something in return despite the fact (which I found out later) he was absolutely trying to screw me.Moving on, once I listened to his detailed description of what all it needed and he gave me a quote of $670 something dollars, I told him I would call him back.My father in law is extremely handy. I did not want to bother him with this or ask him to do the brake job, which is why i took the truck to Vulvan in the first place. I did not even want to call him and ask questions about this, because I knew he would want to do it for me. But, I just had such a weird feeling about the caliper stuff being thrown on the bill too, I reluctantly chose to call him and ask his advice before committing to almost $700 worth of work which should have been a $200 simple brake pad replacement.After explaining all the details listed above and more, he responded with two questions that made me realize I was being taken advantage of. He said which side did he say the caliper was locked up on? I told him the left. He asked, when you drove the truck there and you hit the brakes, did the truck pull to the left? I said no it stopped straight as an arrow. He said, you need to call him back and tell them to stop what they are doing, go pick the truck up, do not give them a dime, and bring it to my house tonight.When we did the brake job that night. The rotors were in great shape, and the calipers were perfect. Careful when they are tacking on extra needs!! - Jonathan Cannon

Jeff specifically made sure that he got to the real problem with my car, much unlike other people who looked at it. He didnt just give me an estimate for what work and labor it needed to be fixed based on the diagnostic. He got in there and he found the problem, and he fixed it and gave me a fair price. These are my people now and I highly recommend, they do great work and provide amazing service.

Update: The owner reached out to me on his personal cell, and really worked hard to gain our trust back. He really went the extra mile, picked the car up from us personally, replaced all the tires at no charge so they are all the same, did an alignment, vacuumed it, washed it, drove it, made sure we were totally satisfied. I REALLY appreciate that effort, that was way beyond my expectations. I wish we didn’t have to go through what we went through, but in the end they took care of us and I would go back because I know they stand by their work and want to make sure the the customer is happy and safe.We have used this location for years, as Estes and Vulcan tire. Unfortunately, our last visit was disappointing. We brought our car in to have a damaged tire replaced. They suggested ONLY replacing the ONE tire (I’ve always heard to replace tires in pairs). We picked it up and drove home where we examined it closer. The tire was put on backward, going in the wrong direction (this is a directional tire). We called and they said they would move us to the front of the line when we arrived. We returned the car to have it corrected and waited maybe 30 minutes. When the car was returned, rather than correct the issue, the front rims were swapped. One of the tires was still backwards because they are all directional tires. I showed the service guy, Jeff, that it was still wrong and he took it back yet again to have it fixed. They ended up flipping on of the old tires around to go the right direction. We were given a free oil change coupon and a sorry.I leave, only to find in the coming days that the car is pulling horribly to the right. So bad my wife brings it up one day when I’m not even riding with her. It was pulling so bad she didn’t feel safe driving it on the interstate. So I had to go back a third time. After talking to one of the sales guys, we decided a second new tire would be the best solution so that the two up front would match. He was able to get it done super quick and I really appreciate all that effort, since he knew what I’d been through. What I didn’t realize is that I was expected to pay full price for the other new tire. After all the hours spent driving back and forth, having somebody watch my kids, and waiting on the car, I was stuck with a bill for another tire. I asked if that was the best they could do, and they took off 15 bucks.Certainly would not recommend this location, they just don’t seem to pay attention to detail. In the end I just feel disappointed that I won’t feel comfortable coming here anymore. I definitely wouldn’t trust them to do any other work besides tires. We have always trusted their opinions and work, and have referred family to them also, but unfortunately will have to find somewhere else to shop for tires now.

My Mom needed her car serviced and I came as moral support. When we entered the facility my Mom said...Good Morning is Matt here?. There was a gentleman who barely addressed her with...Im Matt...while still slumped on one elbow on the counter. She says...Hi we spoke on the phone a short while ago; and he abruptly cuts her off and says...Yea you got the Volvo.At this point Im ready to leave. We are coming to pay for a service. Not just a service on the vehicle but customer service as well. After we were told that a Tech was looking over the vehicle two additional customers came in. In which Matt perked up with Smiles and Greetings.Matt needs to understand that in his role he never knows what kind of day his customer is having. Someone could have just lost a loved one, lost their job, going through a challenging divorce, or maybe just mentally unstable.Being in Operations Mgmt for 12 yrs myself I understand the importance of making the customer feel appreciated. I dont want to force you to take my hard earned money; I will gladly give it to someone who appreciates it/me.In addition, the General Mgr. (Connor?) was very professional and did his best to rectify the situation.

Had a flat on the interstate in Hoover. The tire was ruined, with a hole in the sidewall. Im pretty sure the first place I stopped in at down the street tried to take advantage of my predicament and gouge me. I found Vulcan and they set me up with a new tire for at least $50 less than the other place. And they had me out the door in about an hour. It was going to take several hours at the other place.I dont live in the Birmingham area, but if I did, Vulcan would be my go-to guys for tires. They earned my loyalty.

So far, Ive had them do tires, install a new battery (in the wheel well, FCA-Dodges dumb design), and do an oil change.Im only what, a few months late! I highly recommend this business. The prices are competitive. The experience is better. They exhibit integrity and pride in the work and the way they do business.Want an example? Ive witnessed what they do with other customers, to take care of them. They took the extra time to give a real/complete diagnosis verification, on two separate occasions, to make sure an older gentlemans vehicle was working properly after some work.Right down to the waiting area, they even have desks for you to set up a laptop, to complete work as your vehicle is being worked on. Wifi is fast enough for my work VPN.

Great experience last week. I had already price shopped for brake pad replacement, and they were by far the best priced. When I brought the car in for the brake service, I told them that I also planned on getting new tires at Sams later that day- they matched Sams price, and so I got the tires done at Estes, too. Low prices, and still great service/product!

I wouldn’t even give this company 1 star if I didn’t have to. I took my vehicle in for the tires to be rotated and my brakes to be checked to see if they needed to be replaced. They finished in 30 min on a busy Saturday morning and said they were “just great”. 3 weeks later I noticed a grinding noise when I was coming to a stop. Dropped my car off to be checked and they said I needed new brakes and rotars and it would be $475 plus tax. They also said my front struts were leaking and that would be an additional $750 plus tax. When questioned about how my brakes had went out in 3 weeks time they told me they didn’t know what to tell me, but then told my husband that it was their mistake and they would take care of the issue. Obviously not trusting them at this point we took my car to The Garage in Pelham the next day. We told them that if the front struts were leaning we wanted them to repair them. They called me an hour later saying that they could not “in good conscience do any work to my vehicle because there was absolutely nothing wrong with it”. They could have done the work and gotten the money but they were honest and reliable- something that Estes tires is clearly NOT. I will never do business with Estes tires anymore and I wouldn’t trust anything they tell you. They’re so dishonest. I’m just thankful nothing happened to my family while riding in a vehicle with no back brakes for those 3 weeks. And when I called to speak to the owner last week about the dishonesty he never returned my call. So they’re not too worried about it.*added- to reply to Mr. Estes’ immature and ridiculous comment about my husband “failing to calm me down” let me add that he was more upset about the matter than I was. You put a family in a vehicle with no rear brakes and sent them on their way. Your lucky nothing worse happened than having to repair them for free because of your negligence. Of course we’re all human and people make mistakes. We completely understand that. Anyone would be upset with the experience we had with you and you’d be a fool to not be upset had it happened to you. I never even spoke to anyone after finding out we had been lied to about there actually being an issue with the struts. I recall being told that you even said “we don’t want this matter to go any further” to my husband. My husband never said anything remotely close to you about “calming me down”. But thank you for showing what kind of business man you are by making this comment. You only show your true colors. And while we appreciated the brake issue being resolved, the issue that upset us additionally was the fact that we were told that the struts were leaking and needed to be addressed (yes it’s a maintenance issue and we know this), however we took it to another honest company and were told that in fact they were NOT leaking. There is no issue with the struts that we were told by your company needed to be repaired. Please do not imply that I’m just over reacting and that my husband “failed to calm me down” Mr. Estes. We have every right to be upset with how your company handled business and leave the review we did. Don’t get your feelings hurt and lash out with petty comments because we told the truth of the experience we had.

I went in, slightly frantic, and the staff at Estes were all so kind and responsive and immediately took my car back. The headlight install was quite involved (thanks to Ford) but they got me in and out in no time. I appreciate this staff and they made this experience much easier than expected. Thank you Estes!

Used to be 4-5 star. Had been a pretty loyal customer over past 10+ years. 5 or 6 sets of tires 20+ oil changes/rotations. Bought a new vehicle, when time to change oil/rotate tires, went in as usual. Was told I would be charged for the tire rotation since I didnt buy the tires there. I said this is a new car, it would be impossible to buy from you unless you shipped directly to Toyota factory. Was told it didnt matter. It mattered to me and still does.

I started using Estes Warehouse Tires about 13 years ago because that’s where my husband had always gotten all of his cars serviced for many years prior to our meeting each other. The awesome customer service, superior quality & pride of workmanship, & the excellent care they take in trying to make sure they explain everything in full detail BEFORE they do any of the necessary work to any of our vehicles makes them number one in our family’s book!! We don’t take our vehicles anywhere else & haven’t for many years. We think Estes is top notch & we refer anyone needing car repairs, new tires, oil changes, etc to Estes & no one else!!

I recently brought my sons Xterra in for an alignment and tire rotation. In the process the service technician was very thorough and discovered a crack in three wheels, one of which was sever and could have been catastrophic. They never tried to upsell me, they just asked what I wanted to do since it posed a safety hazard. Needless to say after I purchased new wheels I took his Xterra back to Vulcan Tire to mount the new tires and oil change. Very friendly and honest staff, Ill never take any of my vehicles anywhere else other than Vulcan Tire...people I know I can trust. Thank you Vulcan Tire...you possibly saved my sons life.

I have been taking my familys cars to Estes for years. They have always treated me right. They are honest, friendly, fair and competitively priced. Besides tires, they also do alignments, brakes, oil changes, inspections and most minor repairs. I would much rather deal with a local business and neighbor instead of giving my hard-earned dollars to a mega corporation based thousands of miles away. I would highly recommend Estes to anyone.

They did a poor job replacing the rack & pinion on my car, and it now has to be done all over again. Due to a technicality they are able to dodge any warranty on their work.In response to the owner, I understand the limits of the warranty, as unfortunate as I find it. It does not, however, explain the poor repair job that began causing us trouble within a month, and will cost us $1400 to have done all over again.

Jeff was very professional their service was very quick. I love doing business here. They just get it done and the emphasis isnt on what else needs to be fixed. Estes tire warehouse rocks. Their service is impeccable. I have used them for years and know I can trust them. The number 1 reason for using Estes is they ALWAYS do exactly what they say...from the price for the fix to the time it will take to fix it! They even send hand written thank you notes and frequent flyer coupons.

Great service and prices. They have the nicest staff of any service shop Ive ever been to. I went on a recommendation and dont regret it. I bought a set of tires here after price checking with tirerack. Estes price was competitive enough I chose them over the competition.

Ive been coming here for tires and oil changes for years. They offer a good value and provide quick service. I like the waiting area because I can bring my computer and get work done at the cubicle desks they have set up for customers and free wifi. When you buy tires you get free rotation. I would recommend them for sure!

Ive been going to Estes for 15 years. Great service and friendly folks. They are great about calling you and giving you estimates before completing a repair and even telling you if the fix is absolutely necessary or whether it can wait. Also, when you buy tires there you get free rotation for the life of the tires.

They are the best price in Hoover for four sedan tires. Literally 60 percent the cost of pepboys at the Galleria. Highly Recommend

Great service, I dont feel like they are trying to offer unneeded products or car servicing. They have done a lot of work for us in the past everything from tires to brake pads and we have been happy. Competitive pricing from what i have found.

Never again Estes. Your tire was sold with a 60k warranty. You denied replacement because the truck never went back after initial purchase for rotation/inspection. The tire developed a bubble and failed at 40k. Inspect and rotate to your hearts content. A bubble is a tire defect. In essence, you did dishonored the tire warranty and made up a reason to hang your customer out to dry. Never again.

Had a problem with a tire repair but they fixed b it the next day by replacing the tires. Great service
