Used these guys twice before for tires and they reminded me of the shop I worked at with my family so I enjoyed using them until today.First off, When I walked in he questioned my knowledge of what i told him I needed and he sent a guy out to make sure the tire size was accurate, maybe because I am a woman, but that’s just speculation.Second, I had one damaged rim from a fiasco with a curb. When I left their place yesterday, I had four. I called and spoke with Trent Hatfield, the owner. I sent pictures and he claimed it looked like “road rash”, implying it was like that before or I somehow managed to scuff up three rims on my 10 minute drive home. He said they’d have to inspect it so I brought the car up there already knowing from our conversation on the phone how it was going to go. He got his tire tech, Perry, from the garage and before even approaching the vehicle fully “I can already tell you that was already there”. He preceded to look at them saying it was old and there before like I knew they would speaking to them on the phone. Long story short, do not go to the business unless you want some severely damaged rims and they do absolutely nothing about it, but blame you and tell you they don’t know what to tell you.** editing to state I never once stated I was goi g to leave a bad review. I left a review after going back to the shop and was told they couldn’t do anything because it was like that before. Like I said before it was not! Does not handle business well.

I got three quotes for radiator replacement on my Ford. Hatfield had the best quote and I took the car there.The coolant leak turned out to be the coolant recovery tank. Very satisfied with the experience.

Great Guys and Great Service. We are from out of town and were staying at hotel in the area. The morning of our checkout our water hose went out. We googled nearby mechanics and discovered these guys. I’ve given them more than a few chances. We spent $5000 having vehicles repaired here in 2019 alone.VERY BAD mechanics. Very high side of fair pricing. Told me it was this part, paid them and it wasn’t fixed. Told me it was that part, paid them and it wasn’t fixed. Third times a charm and $1800 later my $500 quoted AC repair is working. Charged me $400 for a “BRAND NEW OEM” AC control module and it’s a cheep Chinese remanufactured unit that the “increase fan speed” button has to be pressed very hard and sticks.. I could spend a very long time explaining all the reasons I’m trying to save you from this place but I don’t have 4 hours. Go somewhere else. ANYWHERE else. You will be gotten if you go here. Maybe not the first time, but they will get you. And I really wanted it to work out but they let me down. My sister in law too.

Brakes went out and smashed into a wall. Towed the car to Hatfield and was told the issue with the brakes as well as price to repair. Asked if there were any other damages (other than cosmetic) and was told no. Paid for brakes just to discover under the hood the radiator was smashed along with a couple of other things. I was never told about these issues. Man I told seemed surprised I even got the hood up. Just disappointed that my car was not fully inspected for mechanical damages as I did tell them I crashed into a wall. The person I spoke with was nice however, did not really take responsibility for his crew not doing their due diligence. Not bashing them, just feel that things could have gone better. On a good note however, didn’t try to charge me for my car sitting there when the tow company I called did not pick it up when they were supposed to, so that was nice.

Took my truck in to find water leak?? Charged $353.00 for some pics and little info. Found a small leak in thermostat housing, 5.00 gasket didnt fix that. Very dissatisfied.

Our son attends college in Birmingham, and we live in Tennessee. He was having some major car trouble. Trent was great to work with and even offered an option to save some money with the repair work. It was very nice to work with someone that is professional and honest. 5 stars for sure!

These guys are great! It can be a little scary sometimes, especially as a young adult, to take your car to a new place and trust everything will go smooth. These guys will do a thorough job and make sure that you leave happy. If ever you feel uncomfortable or disagree with what is being done, they will be more than happy to talk with you and reach an agreement point. Definitely consider taking your vehicle here if you want to work with genuine people who will put the customer first.

Trent & Co. are top-notch mechanics. Their 30+ year experience truly shines through in their work. These guys have my 1990s-era pickup back on the road with hopefully much life left in her. When the dealership wouldnt touch my truck, these guys came through at a very fair price. Great, personable communication as well. I wish I could give 10 stars!

It had been +50 years since I was a teen driving and I never forgot the many times my father would have to get to the original shop in downtown Homewood. Fred Hatfield the owner would shake his head at what has Bruce destroyed now. A couple weeks ago I met Trent when I decided to get several issues resolved. Did they ever! Trent was on the money with everything he had quoted me. I plan on using them when auto needs arise.Thanks folks.

Best place in town to have your car worked on. I brought my car in to have the A/C worked on and Hatfield fixed it right up for me for less than anyone else around. I highly recommend this place by far. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. This place is the real deal.

The most knowledgeable mechanics I have been to. I work on my own vehicles as much as possible, but I have taken my cars here when I am out of my league. I have always been more than satisfied with the prices and time taken for the work to be completed. Mr. Hatfield knows what his staff/ mechanics are capable of and they get the job done appropriately, without attempting to tack on any unnecessary fees.

Halfway through explaining I needed a master cylinder he told me “You know what, i’m gonna just back out of this job because every time I go behind someone I get the back end of it” I simply needed a master cylinder and wasn’t interested in going to my previous mechanic. No one did bad work on my car. Simply wanted to shop around for a better quote but anyways. Lol, I wont recommend because of the language and won’t call again

My sons car wipers were acting up. Wipers turning off and on by themselves. Apparently, this is a common issue for some Ford models. Called Trent and Dion and I was able to get the car over there around 3:00 pm on a very busy Thursday afternoon. They close at 5:30 pm. They ran some diagnostic tests and pinpointed the problem by 5:00. Son said wipers are working fine. Appreciate the great service and fair price.

I came in having issues with my A/C, they were able to pinpoint my issue and have me out of the door within the hour or so. If you ever need any work done at all, please see these people!

Towed my vehicle here because it was close to where it broke down. Left note stating i thought it was the fuel pump out. Received return call from a very polite man who stated it was indeed the fuel pump. The estimate given was $773.00 to replace the fuel pump and accompanying parts. I researched the replacement of a fuel pump and question several mechanics. Ultimately it was recommended that I remove the bed of the truck and replace the fuel pump myself. I watched a youtube video that went into great detail showing how to do this. I had my truck towed to my home $85.00 and spoke to the very nice man at Hatfields Auto Parts and Service telling him I would be towing the truck. He charged me $60.00 to tell me what I told him I thought was wrong with it. He then offered a lower price for the replacement. I declined, paid him the $60.00 estimate and was done with business with them. Ultimately I paid $123.00 for the needed parts and and had two friends to assist me and the replacement / repair was made successfully. I have mixed feelings on this experience, the estimate was heavy and the reality was that the job was done incredibly cheaper myself. The total time including going to get the part took 1 1/2 hours. Far less than the labor cost from the Hatfield estimate. Considering I broke down and towed to Hatfields just prior to Thanksgiving and my truck sat there a week I felt he could have charged me more for my truck being on his lot. He did not. So I consider myself lucky at the mercy of an unknown mechanic that I was not charged more, however, I felt the experience helped me little and cost me. Would I recommend Hatfields Auto Parts and Service to my mother or daughter? No. But, again, I cannot say they were dishonest and he was at least very nice and polite. Over all, I cannot give a good review due to the amount it cost me to repair, the very small amount of time involved in the repair as oppose to the estimate, yet i try not assume it was an over inflated estimate. They are, after all, in business to make money. Hope this helps.

Hatfield has worked on our car twice recently on separate issues. Not only did they give us a great price compared to other chain and local shops, but they did good, quick service. One perk about having your service done here is that you can walk down the block to Seeds Coffee to wait while your vehicle is worked on.

Took my truck here because of a coolant leak. Service was fast.had to replace my radiator but had it back next day. Overall very pleased.

Easy,honest and upfront people. My problem was more so due to my lack of knowledge on the anatomy of my vehicle as oppose to a true technical issue. For not taking advantage of my ignorance for a financial gain,I will definitely be coming back for any real work I may need done in the future.

My car had went in a limp mode with tc and etc warning lights coming on I called Hatfield automotive and the man told me, “Sure bring it in and we will definitely look at it to see what the problem is, won’t have time to fix it but we can run some diagnostics.” I on my lunch break at 12:00pm take my Jeep over there and tell the guy at the desk I had called and he laughs at me and said, “Well a lot changes from 6:30 til 12.” I end up leaving it there and told them I would be back to get it at the latest 5:15 pm that evening. I call to let them know I’m on my way and ask what is wrong with it he tells me I have a lot of issues going on and how they paid $8000.00 for there scan tools. I say so what is the problem(s). He tells me he don’t know and that I owe them $214.00 for what they did today and that it’s my fault that they don’t know because he had to quit half way through there test. 1) they are closing in 10 minutes so if that is half way the total time would have been 20 mins of labor hours so why did they charge me for 2 full hours of labor. 2) what shop material was I charged $14 for? (Hand soap)3) 100 bucks an hour for you to tell me they are not sure but what they are leaning towards. 4) if in fact it took 2 hours and that was only half way they were planing on charging $414for a diagnosis only, and that’s if they didn’t use anymore “shop materials”. Finally when I get in my car the back part of my driver seat is leaned way back I reach for the handle to raise it back up and the dang thing is hanging off the seat broken! !!!! I would not recommend anyone ever going there

Trent and his dad have repaired cars for our family for 30 years. One time Estes Auto gave my dad a $3,000 transmission repair quote. I told him to go to Hatfield. Two hours later he left with a $150 repair bill - all it needed was a leaky seal replaced and some fluid. Honest folks!

Hatfields provides excellent, HONEST estimates and provides quality service. Their prices may be a little higher, than the BIG companies, but they are HONEST. It doesnt matter if you are a man or a woman they are going to tell you what is wrong and fix it correctly.A great locally owened buisness!!
