THE 4.7 stars for their service is VERY MISLEADING ! They can say what they want but when a auto shop charges you $1K for a BREAK JOB , TRUST ME they’re trying to get over on you ! I can honestly say my brakes were bad but not $1000 bad. Went somewhere else instantly save 300 easy my brake are GREAT NOW !

They have left me stranded on a holiday weekend because they failed to mention they would be closed for an extended holiday weekend. This visit (second total) I never went to the shop prior to trying to pick it up (it was towed). Not once in the five phone conversations with them did they mention I wouldnt be able to get my car the next day (Friday), even when explaining they might not be able to finish it Thursday. My holiday weekend in turn has been ruined, and all of my plans have to be cancelled or rescheduled. This is beyond inconvenient in the middle of moving. As a single mom, with one car its also potentially disastrous. Dont trust them to tell you important things. My first visit they also failed to mention I might smell burning or see smoke after my repair, both of which happened. Ensuring I get out of my car in the rain during my commute, and causing extreme panic. They work could be great but their communication skills are negligent at best.

Terrible service with BS excuses. I didnt have two visits. I made an appointment a week in advance and dropped it off at 8am the day of the appointment. At 2pm you called to tell me the oxygen sensor was bad and asked if I wanted it replaced. I already new it was bad. As I told you, Advance Auto parts diagnosed it. I brought it to you for replacement. At 5pm I called to check on the status and was told you needed to keep it overnight and that it would be ready first thing in the morning. At noon the following day I again called to check on it and was told that a mechanic was working on it as we spoke. How is that two visits? Sounds more like two days to complete a two hour job.

Best auto shop in Grand Rapids, hands down. The staff doesnt over charge or make you feel like you need to fix 10 things on your vehicle when you only need 1 thing fixed.

Northeast Automotive will always have my business. I took my 2008 Impala in for a front end issue. Come to find out, it was a loose tie rod on the passenger side. They replaced both tie rods (as one should do when one tie rod goes out) and they gave me a great price including the front end alignment. While the vehicle was on the lift; a major oil leak issue was noticed. Now, this situation didnt happen out of thin air. Multiple shops had to have seen the issue and said nothing to me. The guys at Northeast Automotive took the time to bring me back and show me the issue. The repair was hefty but had to be done. I had them include some extras and they worked out a very fair price with me. If youre considering repair shops in the Grand Rapids area, look no further! Northeast Automotive will take care of you! New to this side of town, so I found this place by searching for the top reviews around me and I was thrilled with my service. The owners and workers make you feel like a friend rather than a customer. Without question this is my new home for servicing my vehicles. I will recommend to anyone and everyone!

I took in a late model s-10 after purchasing to have them check it over and make any necessary repairs to get it in good working order. They made over $2,500.00 worth of repairs. I drove the s-10 off their lot and within 30 miles the engine failed. I took the engine to another mechanic to have another engine installed and he stated that the failure was likely caused by silica getting in the oil which was probably caused by one of the repairs he identified on their repair bill. My total cost for new used engine to be replaced, etc. was $1,500.00. They are refusing to reimburse me and are requiring I pay to have an oil sample done to test the oil. Cliff, the owner stated this oil test would run $400.00 and that he would split it with me. The first lab I called to run a test told me $25.00 to run a test on it for contaminants or other silica. I will be having my own test done on the oil and turning the matter over to my attorney. I would say Northeast automotive probably does a good job overall (based on the reviews here), but good luck getting them to file an insurance claim without 100 percent documented proof they caused damage to your vehicle. would recommend going down the road and will be doing exactly that in the future.

I first started going here when I was too busy at work to do the repairs myself, but with reasonable prices and very capable repairs, Ive continued to come here even when my schedule calmed down. They really do spectacular work, and are always willing to find used parts when itll help keep costs down. Ive also found that they never over-diagnose which is, of course, the most important thing you can ask for from a mechanic.

Overall, a great experience. The manager, Cliff, offered to come in on Sunday to give me a loaner car while mine was getting fixed. It was greatly appreciated and showed their willingness to go above and beyond. In addition, I felt like I was being treated fairly without trying to be upsold. I will definitely return!

Its a great place to get your car fixed. They are honest and wont rip you off by just changing parts to make money. They are willing to tell you that there is nothing wrong with the car and you are good to go. They also know what they are doing also. I trust my cars to them to fix.

My family has been coming here for years however I have just recently started using their services for my new car. I only had a oil change scheduled this morning however I also needed some brake work done. Not only did they fix the brakes but they completed the oil change before I had to rush off to a morning meeting. Absolutely love the service, the community, and the results!

The job was done in a day, and after I was told it was all set, Cliff found a faulty part that he personally ran out to get and install (without charging me for it). Who does that? Had a head gasket go bad on my lexus. The repair was done with professional craftsmanship and the customer service was A+. They even had a loaner car for me to get to work while they repaired my car. I could not be more satisfied. With a full interior and exterior cleaning (free of charge) I was out the door with a fair price and felt secure that they took the proper time to get the job done to a high standard. Took my 97 Elantra in to have a coolant leak fixed, which ended up being a radiator leak (which I suspected). The staff at Northeast Automotive replaced the radiator within a day or two, and did so at a very fair price. Staff is very honest and helpful, they even gave me a loaner car to drive to work while they were working on my car. Would highly recommend.

My first experience here, but they have a customer for life. I had an A/C problem diagnosed at the dealership, but chose NE based on reviews. When I called to make the appt they spent a significant amount of time explaining what needed to be done and gave me a best case/worst case scenario based off the dealership diagnosis. When I brought my car in they found the dealership had been wrong and saved me over $800! Very honest and helpful!

Ive had terrible experiences with mechanics and shops and all of that stopped the first time I came here. I wont take my car(s) anywhere else. Ive had questions and wondered about noises and they did a free inspection just to tell me everything is ok. I got an oil change while I was there to save myself a trip. Ive even had repeat problems with other service centers and their answer was to get me a lifetime warranty on a part that I had repeat problems with for no extra cost to me. I havent had the repeat problem since.As long as the team is the same and the business is still there, they have my business.

Cliff is an honest guy, which is rare in the business he is in. I have lived in Grand Rapids for just over a year, and have been looking for an honest privately owned car repair facility to take care of my vehicles. When my vehicle broke down, I knew exactly what it was, but expected a mechanic to go looking for other problems. He diagnosed and repaired only what needed to be repaired. I found the facility that I will continue to take my vehicles to. He found a way to save me money during the repair with a used part.He reassured me when he said This part is $250 cheaper than from the dealer. I fix every car like it is my own, and I would fix my car this way. It will save you a lot of cash.He is patient with customers, and will take all the time that is needed to explain the vehicles circumstances to the owner. Take your vehicle here, and it will taken care of.

My wife and I were hearing some terrible noise coming from the power steering pump when we turned the wheel and assumed we needed a new pump because the reservoir was full. I explained the issue to Cliff and received a quote for $350.00 to replace the pump which was fair. Cliff told me his technician would checkout the problem and let me know what needed to be repaired. To my surprise, Cliff called me the next morning to let me know that I didnt need a power steering pump at all. Cliff said it wound up being a power steering pump hose that was causing the problem and for $50.00 my wifes car was back on the road running great!This was my first experience at Northeast Automotive and I was so impressed with their honesty and prompt service that less than an hour after I picked up my wifes car, I dropped my truck off for shocks and brake service. Kudos to Northeast Automotive for running an honest, affordable, and efficient repair facility. Keep up the good work!

These guys are crooks. My wife took her jeep there for a tie-rod. They charged her double what our other mechanic did for both sides and they did only one side. They charged double what the parts costs, we have the receipts from the last shop to prove it.. They said she needs an oil change when the sticker in the window clearly has 2k more miles. Said she needs new tranny lines for 700 and bobs transmission could fix it for 150. In the past they were fair, I wonder what changed.... I will never be back.

They charged a lot of money and always say your car has problem to fix. My husband doesn t know anything about car so he always trust time and let them fix it in every time check up. Since last year we paid them over $3000 for both cars of me and him. But our cars still need to fix. I dont feel trust them anymore. I feel they are screw customers.

I already knew what was wrong with my car and he fixed my car and sent me on the road in 30 minutes. I have lived and repaired my car in different areas in Chicago (my hometown) and in Grand Rapids, MI, and I must say this place gets 3 thumbs up if there is anything like that. Dishonest about what work needed to be done. Would not work on my car unless they fixed everything they had wanted to. Went to another mechanics shop and they fixed problem for 500 less than what northeast quoted me at and I had my car back in 20 minutes. Running perfectly fine now. Dont go to northeast auto if you dont want to be screwed.

In the past year I had what the dealerships told me were 2 major repairs needed to my veh, both times I took my car to Northeast Automotive to have them look at it and the repairs that needed to be done were hundreds of dollars less than what the dealerships told me, the owner Cliff advised me the repairs the dealers said needed to be done were not as severe as the dealerships said. I will only take my cars to Northeast Automotive from now on, they are very HONEST and do GREAT work.
