Brought my truck in in July to have a dual exhaust run. I came from out of town- they told me it would be about a 3-4 hour job. I said I will wait with it. 8 hours later I was begging them to quit talking and finish the job so I can leave. I was told he only works fast for good tippers. He asked me to go down the road and grab him a Red Bull- thinking this may motivate him to start working I did. Out of my pocket….the problem wasn’t slow work it was the guy working on my truck had to tell me every story of his rock band career. He would t stop talking long enough to do any work.I understand these things take time. They were well aware of my situation- with no regard for time. And this wasn’t a matter of slow work- just a lazy employee that wanted to fill a day with my vehicle so he wouldn’t have to touch another.And to top it all off I’ve spent over $200 replacing broken hangers and to have three separate holes in the exhaust pipe repaired and it hasn’t been on the truck three months. This shop is trash and I’d highly recommend going anywhere else.If Muffler Man would like to propose a solution I’d be all ears, however my truck will not ever be worked on at this location again.

Im giving this rating strictly based off appearances and customer relations. I was dropping someone elses car off. The man she spoke with was spouting off about aliens, calling it Area 51 and the whole place is disgusting in appearance. They might be great at fixing cars, i have no idea because i wont be taking my personal cars there.

If you can handle the ambience and the environment this is a truly awesome place because the owner is absolutely in a class by himself.

I dropped my truck off at noon and was promised a quick turn around and a cheap price if I was a good tipper. I came back 5 hours later and the guy that claimed to be the best and the hardest worker there hadnt even moved my truck. Quick turnaround and great guidance on some other items happening with the car, too. Fair price on labor.Save these guys some time & be as thorough as possible with knowing your vehicles issues. Also understand they are very high volume, they move fast and any snags only delay them in the process.Will likely return in the future!

Brought in a ladies car for alignment- on rack all kinds of parts needed- told me if I do the work bring back later for alignment- NO Charge until next time- brought back one week did alignment -test drove it for me $50 dollars out the door- GREAT SERVICE -were honest and helped this laddy in these hard times!!!! will come back again!!!!

Joe and the team did a great job today. I had my exhaust break last night and was obnoxiously loud. As an uber driver It wont be long before customers start leaving bad reviews if their ride sounds like a piece of junk. They got me in the same day, had it finished on time and the total price was the low end of the estimate. Ill use them in the future for sure.

I needed brakes, rotors, and calipers done on my 06 kia. I was referred to by a friend after moving to the city, but I couldnt get ahold of them the first few times I tried calling. I started calling elsewhere but all of my quotes seemed very high for what I wanted done. I gave them a call again and was connected with Joe right away. He gave me a quote really good quote right away that included everything I needed and was able to fit me in the same day if I was able to get it there at a certain time. Long story short my caliper ended up freezing and I had to get it towed. I showed up nearly 2 hours late and the team still had it back to me the next day at the price we talked about. Ill definitely be coming here again!

This place is the WORST! I took my Jeep in to be looked at and fixed, $200 later, they gave me the Jeep back with the same problems. So, I take my truck back to them to fix, and they tell me they missed the issue and it will cost another $600 on top of the $200 I spent already. Poor business management. I will never go back or recommended anyone here. I went here, because I thought they would be affordable and theyre just the opposite.

All I can say is wow. I was referred to Dean at Muffler Man by a friend and have had them complete several repairs over the last 5 years. Work has been done well, prices have been better than fair and jobs completed on time. My most recent repair was exhaust system on my G-8. It rumbles like it should and is quiet on the highway. The muffler man on 28th SE mechanics will make up a diagnosis if they dont know what the problem is. They told me to get rid of my car. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed and fixed the problem I was having. I gave them 1 star for price. I guess you get what you pay for.

Ive never felt the need to review a place before, but I always have such a good experience here I just have to. Ive only been here a few times, but each time I feel like Im getting a fair price for the quality of work done on my car. I make it pretty obvious that I dont know squat about cars, and Dean takes the time to explain it to me so I understand whats going on. I recently went in for a loud exhaust and a squeaky belt. He said that it wasnt necessary to replace the belt, but he would if I wanted. Knowing that I clearly dont know much, he could have taken advantage of that and replaced it anyway, but he didnt and I greatly appreciate it.

I needed a front brake job done on an older car. I first got an estimate at another shop (I shouldn’t directly mention it’s name, but it’s a chain that is named after three now-dead energetic young men) and it was over $500 and that’s after I talked them down a bit. To make a long story short, I ended up at this shop and Dean quotes me $225 out the door and the job was done pretty quickly and the brakes work much better. Thanks! I appreciate the work and the $ savings!

I was at this location for 2 hours. The owner Craig was the one who scheduled my appointment. When I arrived they made me wait 2 hours just for them not to do it. I asked for some money off before I even did the job and he replied with “you have some nerve huh” he then continued to deny my service after me waiting in their parking lot for 2 hours. The owner does not car about the customers. Wasted gas just sitting in the car and time.

This shop is always busy, because people come here and get great service at a good price. So people who appreciate a good shop keep coming back. Honest management and mechanics, fair prices, great service (like really great service). If you need a mechanic this is the shop to use. They can do lots more than mufflers. Dean will treat you right. (If you have a Ford, ask for Bob, he knows his stuff.)

I called and ask a particular question and was given one answer, once I got there they gave me a total different answer, when I asked why was I told something different they lied to my face and denied even telling me that they said anything. Totally unorganized, and absolutely why I HATE Michigan mechanics.

I had an amazing experience at this Muffler Man. My brakes were going out and I was scared to drive my car but they stayed after closing to make sure I got new brakes. They said it might take up to 1.5 hours but the job was finished in half an hour and the price was very reasonable. These guys truly care and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

I took a car for an inspection before buying it. I was told the car was a great car only to find out the wheel was coming off days later. The mechanic says to me “ the guy went down $200 on the car so u could pay us $250 yo fix it”. I think that they knew something was wrong and told me it was fine just to get money out of it smh they are extremely unprofessional and should go out of business

I had the split exhaust from hell! I stopped in on a whim to see how far backed up they were thinking a week or so, and was very surprised to find they could fit me in within 30 min. and the repair took about 40 min. all quiet and working fine. they might look a shoddy, but they do good work at a good cost. and are honest with their quotes. Give them a try and I think you will be happy with the results.05/18/17 New Review:I brought another vehicle to this location, because I had such a great experience the last time. Again I got Fast, Professional, Accurate quotes and Service. No trying to over sell any un-needed repairs, just honest prices for the work that needed to be done, and in a timely manner. They just do good work here. If you have to have work done here, plan on leaving the vehicle, but 9 out of 10 times they will have it finished that day. The Only thing I would suggest is if you have a light or really clean interior put down a seat cover of your own. But all in all a good honest repair shop the does good, honest, and timely repairs! Thats a rare thing to find now a days. 2 different vehicles, varying repairs, and still give them 9 / 10.

Dont mess with them. I believe they create problems that werent originally there and have you pay 4 it. Im very upset with this shop. I have experienced this several times with them with my mother vehicle and mine as well. The place is a trashy ghetto whole in the wall with little to no seating. I dont care how much of a discount u get the atmosphere alone made me not want to get work done. Sometimes saving a little money is just not worth it and this is coming from someone who lives within a budget.The majority of the time people are cramped in there standing shoulder to shoulder. To be honest its not the cleanest facility. I also didnt feel too safe alot if sketchy people hanging around. Update: my mother took her truck to a dealership mechanic and he opened her hood right in front of her and showed her wires that had been cut and misplaced. The hood has not been opened since it left this shop.

This business is very unorganized, unprofessional and shady. I brought my vehicle at the time and date I was told to by the owner and even still they claimed to have no knowledge about my repair appointment. During my time there I noticed cars scatted every where around the parking lot, the staff didnt quite seem to know what they were doing. In my opinion these are just a bunch of low level guys working on peoples cars. I wouldnt recommend this Muffler Man. Shortly after this horrible experience, I called there Muffler Man in Kentwood and immediately I was welcomed with a better level of customer care and professionalism.

Went in there a few days before thanksgiving when they were super busy, they were able to squeeze me in within an hour and weld on my muffler for me. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fair prices and quality work.

This place is awesome! They fixed my resonator and it sounds like a brand new ride. Also theyve fixed my electric windows issues, & changed my oil. Whatever I need fixing all with verrry reasonable prices! I appreciate a place I can rely on like this.

Got there about an hour after open for a muffler for my jeep. Took a little while but kind of expect that for work on a vehicle. Everyone there was extremely friendly and the work was great. Extra tip: bring anyone working on your car some food (donuts). It goes a long way.

I called them 10 minutes before i arrived for a wheel alignment they said bring it by as if they werent busy. I get there and they had a car in the bay and apparently their machine was broken. Super unprofessional and inconvenient

Muffler Man is the best,, I needed an exhaust put on my car n they got the job done in a hour and the price was cheap i took my car to another shop in the was talking about $600 n another shop said $363 but i took it to the Muffler man n it was $275 out the door... Great service! I had a loud muffler, had taken my Dodge to a dealership and they gave me an estimate of nearly $2,700 with parts and labor. Dean charged me $140 for a new muffler and his repair man Jeff had it done in 30 minutes! Quiet now like the day I bought it!

I brought my car in from a different mechanic that couldnt fix my exhaust leak. Dean and his mechanic pinpointed the leak and gave me a fair price on the repair. Highly recommend bringing your car here, these guys are fair, honest and fast!

They have excellent customer service. I brought my car in at 9:15 a.m. without an appointment, and my converter and oil change was done by 10:30. The only place Ive come by that would do a catalytic converter for as cheap as they did. By the time I left, I had already told a friend to go there.

My tail pipe on my Hummer H2 broke off right at the muffler after hitting a pot hole on Grand Rapids pot hole filled roads. I called Muffler Man and was told to come in and I could get muffler fixed that day. I came in talked to the owner Dean and he told me it didnt matter if I was rich or poor black or white that he gives all of his customers a good price and he did just that. I received a fair price and my muffler was fixed that day. Good Job.....

They have screwed me over for the last time! I went to get a new muffler and check on why its overheating. Well apparently the back bumper fell off when they drove it in. Now considering its not a rusty car and have had no issue with it before. They rigged it back on and now the trunk doesnt shut all the way...about a 4 gap! Its all jacked up looking! I totally forgot to look at that when I picked it up...they had it for hours!! And now they wont do anythingThey fixed a leak in a tire and when I got on the hiway minutes after picking my car up, I had a flat tire! I called thinking they could come help because Im a mile away they said bring it in...smh. A good Samaritan helped put my spare on as I apparently had the wrong lug wrench.. Well Dean told me my tire was ruined from driving it on a flat...!!!! I got a flat cuz they didnt really fix the leak and as soon as it became flat I stopped and put the spare on. So I pay for them to fix it and when they didnt do it right Rhett blame me and say I need a new tire? What kind of service is that?

Mom got an alignment and then day later heard all kinds of noises coming from car. Turns out alot if stuff was loose after getting so called alignment. Place is a joke. Dont go there.
