My husband and I purchased a Ford Escape here. Within two days of owning the vehicle the parking brake alarm started going off. Prior to buying the vehicle their mechanics put new brakes on the vehicle. I think it is a little suspicious that we would have an alarm connected to the brake system consistently go off. I tried to resolve this with through the better business bureau but did not receive any sort of response. Do not buy your vehicle here. Especially if it is a used vehicle that you are looking into buying.Edit: I just wanted to add that they refused to even try to finance a Jeep that we wanted because of the age of the vehicle. It was only a few years older than the Ford we are stuck with.

All of the Jeep related items were taken out of the vehicle. The Jeep floor mats and the bag for the top panels. It takes multiple attempts to get responses to emails regarding warranty work. Until we said we were buying for sure they did not seem to care if we were customers or not. The gentleman that handles our financing was great, which is the reason they got more than one star. He was super friendly and helpful. The sales person was the reason we initially decided to shop elsewhere and couldn’t get what we were looking for elsewhere so we had to go back. Unfortunately the finance person is not enough to undo the rest of the less than average car buying experience.

A+ Service and Professionalism from Zach Harris (Service Advisor) and Scott (Service Technician). These two deserve an award. I highly recommend them so ask for them by name to get outstanding service. Unlike other dealerships who turned us away and said there was nothing wrong with the speaker in our brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2020, these two easily found the problem and resolved it. Went through Prefferred Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Grand Haven after looking for a new truck for 3+ weeks. After reaching out to Alex in the beginning of my search and letting him know what I was looking for exactly and that I wasnt going to be married to one dealer (for I wasnt sure what may come up elsewhere), Alex was great! I received updates on their vehicle stock 2-3 times as it was promised to me. This experience was only my third dealership experience I have ever had on my own and I must say it was by far the best experience yet. I really appreciate not being pushed to purchase something and to not be lead in a different direction as other dealerships and salesmen/women may do.Alex went above and beyond the expectations and I hope more people get to experience this guys professionalism that was showcased. Purchased my very first Jeep Wrangler! Isaiah at Preferred made my experience smooth and painless. The entire staff treated me kindly. I just purchased a 2021 Durango R/T from Preferred Dodge. My experience from beginning to end was very pleasant. There was no pressure or games played during my buying experience. They were very fair on my trade in and worked hard to get me to a price that was fair for all. I purchase a new car every 18-24 months and I am no stranger to dealerships. Do NOT under any circumstances bring your vehicle here to be worked on. The employees seem nice enough, but it seems that the proper work is not being done. A few weeks ago, we brought our vehicle here to be serviced for electric issues. The terminal light kept coming on. The dealership couldnt recreate the issue. They had my vehicle for a week. I paid for a rental for a week. Finally, I just said to change the battery and well hope for the best because I couldnt keep paying for a rental and for them to keep my vehicle with no diagnosis.Fast forward to last night when I stopped by a gas station to get gas in my vehicle. I turned the car off, pumped my gas, and went to go start my car. Dead as a doornail. Had to have it towed to a different place because I didnt have the money to pay the extra to have it towed back to this dealership. The shop who has my car today tells me that my battery is dead. How can that be when I just had my battery changed out 3-4 weeks ago? Got a phone call from the shop working on my vehicle and they tell me.my alternator is bad and over charging my car. The same alternator that this dealership also replaced. Call this dealership back and get told I cant get a refund, but they would pay for it to be towed there so they can warranty the parts and fix it. Yea. No thanks. You have already proved to me that this place is to not be trusted. I got told it must have been a defunct part from the manufacturer. How you have two defunct alternators in 8 months time is beyond me, but I certainly will not be returning here. Something is fishy. If I could rank them negative stars, I most certainly would.STAY AWAY. DO NOT GO HERE.

I would give negative stars if I could. Please beware OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I own a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been having “service shifter” message, and starts when it wants too. I brought it here to get serviced at Muskegon location. The service department is awful. They thought they fixed it with a new alternator. I had a warranty and still had to pay for part of this alternator to not even need it. The Jeep still had the issues, so I took it back to them. They had my car for 2 weeks, hardly communicated with me. They took it to another location this GRAND HAVEN LOCATION and did not tell me. They both couldn’t figure out what the problem was at either location. I drove a half hour to go get my car with nothing done to it after all that time. When I talked to a service representative they told me that I should sell the car before it happens again!! I can’t believe that. They just want me to pass the problem to someone else. Car still doesn’t run the way it should, beyond disappointed. I will never own a Chrysler dodge Jeep vehicle EVER.

Poor communication was the biggest issue. We went to test drive a vehicle one night, but couldn’t stay to do the financing. It was already 7:00 pm and we had 2 small kids with us. We spoke with the salesman the next day and asked if we could get the process going over the phone/computer to try and save some time when coming back to finalize everything. Trying to get any information was like pulling teeth, calls and texts went unanswered for an entire day before we would hear back, and even then we weren’t given answers to the questions we asked. A week and a half later we were finally told we were able to come get the car. We had an appointment for 3:00 and didn’t end up being helped until 30+ minutes later. He rushed us through because he had to leave early, talked to us like we bought a car every day and didn’t explain anything. Horrible experience and won’t be recommending

My ventilation system abruptly stopped working on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. I was also experiencing some issues with my electrical system... my check airbag light would come on sporadically and the uconnect system was slow and laggy. I decided to take it in to see what Preferred could figure out.Ill tell you what, they couldnt have PREFERRED to do less. After repeatedly talking to Robert in service, I made sure he knew that my number one priority was the electrical system. I also needed some brake work done, so I had them do this as well. Like I said, the reason I brought it in was to address the electrical issues Ive been having for months. I certainly could have waited on my brake job. Once it was finished, Robert called me and I grilled him on the electrical issues. He said the Uconnect system was reset and should function properly and the ventilation system was now working. I said fantastic and had him leave the keys in the car, and picked it up just after close on Saturday.Boy was I surprised when I hopped in and the ventilation system did not work. I tracked down the general manager Michael, and he was little help. He did nothing to resolve the issue. He did assure me I would receive a call on Monday.Once Wednesday rolled around and I had not received a call, I left Michael another voicemail.Yesterday, after waiting over a week and a half for a response, I decided to check it out myself.Obviously my first spot to check was the fuse box. Low and behold my blower motor fuse was shot. After a $5 part purchase and install, my ventilation system was working perfectly. Obviously Preferred never even checked the fuse box.The new standard with Preferred is that they would rather do the easy work. They will pull you in with the expectation of completing a complex job, but have little desire to complete those. And by the way, the Uconnect system is still not working.Please avoid this dealership. They are not honest and have no morals. They want to make the quick buck but are not interested in the long-term longevity of your vehicle or building a relationship with the community.I did leave the general manager Michael a message today, letting him know that I took care of the problem in less than 5 minutes, for less than five bucks.I hope that Preferred raises the quality and expectations of their service because simply changing the name from Betten to Preferred will only fool people for so long.

Purchased a vehicle from them 5 years ago and had a wonderful experience. Went back a month ago and it was the opposite. 1 week after having the vehicle we noticed a terrible gas smell to the point we couldnt close the garage because of the fumes. Called the dealership and they said we bought it as is and that there was nothing they were going to do. But they would happily schedule us in for service at full price. $700 later we have a new fuel pump. TERRIBLE!

I went in with my car getting repaired through my auto insurance. They wouldnt fix all of my problems. Did not call me when my car was done.Our car got in an accident on Christmas eve. My control arm broke. Not driveable. We got it towed here because they have always been great. I got a rental. It took about 2 weeks to get everything fixed. They said that they called on Jan 15th that my car was ready for pickup. I never got this call. Therefore had to pay an extra $200 for my car rental as private pay because they told my insurance it was done and fixed. We go to pick up our car and its dead. Thet said that it got to the body shop dead. But according to the shop, there wasnt anything wrong with the car or the battery. I then call the service tech, Robert, and he said that my car was dead when it arrived to the shop. Because they told my insurance the battery was fine, we had to pay out of pocket for a new battery of almost $200. Then my steering was off. I called, the adjusted the alignment and brought it back to me. The manager, Craig, said that a 4 wheel alignment should have been done. They did a 2 wheel alignment. I call my insurance agent. They said its up to the shop which one they do. Since they charged the insurance for a 2 wheel, they wont go back and do any wheel alignment. I have left MULTIPLE messages for Craig, the service manager. I have not heard a word from him. This business is a complete joke. Since then I have contacted the BBB and they are not willing to step up and claim that they made multiple mistakes. This business is a joke.

Take no covid precautions. I asked the manager why nobody was adhering to state guidelines and he said, thats all fake. They lied to me about my trade in number. When I did all the math it didnt add up. They told me they were showing me 12000 for my trade but it was actually only worth 9000. Then I called the bank that was financing the purchase. The bank gave me a rate lower than what the dealer had quoted me. The bank explained the dealer would be paid the profit between the buy rate and the rate the dealer told me. So basically, another $900 profit for the dealer on top of the $3000 they lied about on my trade in. They claimed they were giving me a great deal by discounting the car I was buying by $1600. Not quite. A lot of lies and deception. Buyer beware.these guys are crooks. Sadly, I think my salesman was nice. It was the manager spinning the lies.

Very nice small town dealership that I prefer. Just drove by to see a unique vehicle in their inventory and a few hours later was driving home with it. They took care of everything from new vehicle prep, financing, ect. Right up to closing time. So far, very happy. Refused to sell me the car! Whether it’s bait cars, or incompetence, or both I’m not sure.On February 5 after weeks of searching, found a car at preferred Jeep. Arranged to buy it the next day. The next day I drove 45 minutes one way to buy the car. But, they had no title and CARFAX said a fresh lien was placed on it Feb 5th as well.Fast forward one month to today: was told lien release and title were finally in hand after I’ve storms and pestilence. Come and get it they said.I arranged financing with my credit union; I got a cashiers check for the down payment; I secured insurance on the vehicle.We made the trip out tonight for the 3rd time now to try to buy the car. Once we got there, guess what, wait for it, NO TITLE.They cheerfully indicated I didn’t need to buy the car if I wouldn’t take it WITHOUT the title.Incompetent ne’er do wells.USE CAUTION

Do not do business with this dealer. This dealer does not care about you. I scheduled a service appointment over three weeks in advanced to have keys programed for my car. The original keys were stolen. I had to hire a tow truck to pick up the vehical and bring it to the service department. I also informed the service department that the vehical needed to go to another location for repair after the key was programed. Upon arrival the service department had no idea what was going on, they told me their machine for doing the programming has been broken for months and they also told me to take it to another dealer out of town. I asked for the manager and they did not know wkere he was so I asked to have him call me and he never did.

Terrible experience while taking my vehicle there! I will not be coming back to this dealership. When making the appointment for my oil change, the gentleman asked if I had any other concerns. I told them my AC has been occasionally blowing warm air. I dropped my car off at 12:15. The advisor suggested a tire rotation to go along with my oil change, which I agreed. I provided my warranty information (for the AC) and I was told the advisor would give me a call when he got more information on the extended warranty. I don’t hear anything by 2pm so I call to check in and I was told my advisor would call me back. By 3pm, I call again. I speak with my advisor and my car’s oil change and tire rotation hadn’t been started yet and they went ahead and did a diagnostic on my AC without calling (like he said he would) and asking first. Of course, the diagnostic wasn’t covered on my warranty. Anyway, the advisor tells me another half an hour for my vehicle. I get to the dealership by 3:30 and the advisor forgot about my tire rotation and my oil change wasn’t done. I finally got my vehicle done at 4 and got service I didn’t ask for or give permission to do and didn’t get half the service I did request for. 4 hours...and nothing done. He also tried to sell me a very expensive oil change and tire rotation package and I had to remind him of the dealership coupon I presented. They just take your money and provide very poor service. I won’t be returning.

Tim was great. Accommodated my schedule, had no problem with me getting the vehicle looked at by a mechanic before agreeing to purchase and made arrangements to fix what was needed (which wasn’t much👍🏻). The price was fair and the vehicle is in really good condition. All around pleased :)

We are very frustrated with our experience here. We purchased our vehicle end of last summer. We were told it was a trade in. Come to find out. The vehicle was purchased at auction in Canada. We found this out when we went to have a manufacturer recall taken care of. It was a known problem on White Honda Pilots. This is what is called a Grey Market vehicle. Having the vehicle VIN registered in Canada and not being able to be transferred to United States for any recalls including safety issues. Here we have a vehicle that if it has any safety problems or MFG problems, we will be made unaware of and need to take care of ourselves. Unsafe vehicle. Now for the timeline.This has been going on since before Memorial Day. I have kept a detail timeline of all (which is next to none) communications. Our salesmen Andy was great but unaware of this. I have left voicemails for Nick and sent GM Michael email with zero responses. I even sent pics to salesmen’s phone at his request. My next step is BBB and other actions if needed. I think 6 weeks is long enough for a response. They have my contact info so if they recommend to have me call them is a joke. I have tried and get nowhere.

[NOT SPONSORED] Look no further then Preferred Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Grand Haven for vehicles and service. I have to say that I have never been more pleased with ANY dealer. The salesmen are intelligent, honest, and go above and beyond to make sure youre happy. The manager is a great guy, he came over and offered me a coffee and ensured that my visit was a good one. I have had multiple experiences with the service team as well, all of them great. You wont find a friendlier group of car enthusiasts. This place is something special. Ive brought my whole family and referred neighbors and friends, each of them has returned with their own positive experience. If you need a vehicle or service for your vehicle, this place will save you money and hassle. If thats not enough, theyre also very timely. You wont spend all weekend there like you would at other dealerships, unless of course you want to!

I have been considering purchasing a jeep for a while. So, on a whim, I stopped in and happen to meet Sales Specialist Harrison Morin. I am so glad I did. Two things really struck me: 1. His excellent knowledge regarding the various jeep models and features, and most importantly to me 2. the comfort (and ease) he made me in the process. Let him teach you and guide you in your next purchase. His enthusiasm is infectious. While I did not buy one that day, there is no question in my mind who I will buy it from when I do – Harrison. It is worth stopping in and meeting him.

Terrible experience with this dealership. Was hoping to not have to post a negative review, but after 1 year of attempts to contact both the salesman and GM, they have yet to fulfill promises made during the purchase.Purchased a car from them over 1 year ago(salesman: Andy Guy), and as part of the purchase it was agreed that Preferred would replace missing vent pieces. This was stated in the due out list, and confirmed over E-Mail. As the purchase was over 1 year ago, I have exchanged over 50 E-Mail follow ups to understand where this was. Additionally, I have called and spoken to the sale representative with ZERO confidence he is following up. Additionally have left 3+ voicemails at different points in time (most recently last week) for Mike Vanderplow, the General Manager.There is a complete lack of care shown at all levels of this dealership, and I would not recommend anyone do business if this is how they treat their customers.

My sales person Hunter was very informative and not super pushy. He did a great job finding me what I wanted and delivered on what he told me he would. It was nice to have a younger sales person be so polite and listen to what the customer wanted. I would recommend him t my friends for sure.
