Mr. Coleman approved! Our salesmen Austin is a stand up guy. I told him upfront I was very cautious about buying from the dealership. He said he understands. I told him what I wanted and he order exactly what I wanted. It was a long wait due to production issues but it was well worth it.Even the pup gave him a high 5!My only regret is not getting the 6.2. I called Austin with very specific requests when it came to my test drive and car selection, and he made the entire process so easy, and made sure my car was full of gas when I bought it for my drive home! Dealership defaulted on our warranty agreement. Dealership provided me a 100,000 mile power train warranty at the time of purchase. At the 90,000 mile mark the real engine seal broke. Better baker dealership claimed it was a PCs valve failure and it was not covered. Brought the problem to preferred chev and they ignored my claim. It cost me $1100.00 to get my car running. Preferred owes me $1100.00.

I got a car from this dealership, the service was perfect, I was coming from Colorado to trade my car for a nice SUV. All of the time the sales person Spencer Fuller was ready to answer on all my questions that I need. He was very professional and all of the time with all information that I need. When I arrived there he was waiting me with all paperwork ready just for signatures. The car that I was buying was clear washed ready for drive. I was done with everything in 20-30min and ready to come back in Colorado. I am giving 5 stars to this dealership specially to this sales person Spencer Fuller. Was in the grand haven area for our honeymoon and our vehicle threw a code. Had it checked out at the auto parts store down the way and found out what needed to be replaced. Called the couple different repair shops in town and was offered a 9:20 am appointment the next day at preferred after explaining how we were checking out of our hotel and needed to get this done rather rapidly. Other shops were the following week and wouldn’t work for our schedule. Showed up promptly at 9 am to try and get their early and the process started. It was a simple repair in my mind (45 minutes with the part being in stock) but I understand shops being I work in one. It wasn’t until right before their lunch (12:15) that our vehicle was finally getting looked at and diagnosed since they needed to do their own diagnosis and not trust an outside report, which I get and understand. The young girl was very apologetic and told us we would have an update roughly a half an hour later. Skip ahead hour and a half later, I walked out of the lounge area to see about the update. At 1:25 they said they could do the repair in roughly two hours at a decent rate and since we couldn’t get back into any of the hotels in the area, we were in a bind and had to get it down here. Fast forward to 4:15, sitting in the service lounge for 7+ hours, I walked out to check the status of my vehicle and what do you know, it’s done and the keys are sitting right there. So at 4:35 we were finally able to get into our vehicle and leave. My biggest gripe was how we had been told they had appointments available to get our vehicle right in and diagnosed, yet we were constantly being told time estimates that didn’t ever make out. Don’t take appointments if you don’t have the availability to look at the vehicles at that time. Especially when you have been told multiple times that the customer is kinda stuck and just looking around for help. Not to mention , the service manager could’ve came out and apologized and even just make it look like a professional working service center but the only person who apologized every time she saw us and kept offering courtesy shuttles to somewhere (when we had no where to go) was Jessica. She is a rockstar and a great service representative. Maybe she deserves the big office and not having to apologize to unhappy customers. If I’m ever in the area again and need car repair, I won’t return. I drive a Chevy, I work for Chevy, this was very disheartening to see.

I have been meaning to write a review since my experience, it is a tale of 2 halves to be honest. I am not a local, i found a vehicle thru CarGurus that I really wanted I know there is such a shortage and this is was my dream SUV. I reached out to them via CarGurus and after an initial email from one of your sales people if you want to call him that I had nothing back in response. I cant remember who the initial contact was with unfortunately but it was non existent and I got the impression you didnt want my business as I wasnt local. Then after a few days I got a another email from someone else and that attitude and wanting to help me changed so fast. Withing minuted of my response i got a call from Barry and the experience from there was amazing. It was such an easy process from that point with working on my trade and then the amount of Pictures and Videos he sent me was above and beyond. It was the how it should have been from the start, I am glad that Barry reached out to me, I have recommended several people your way since. We drove onto the lot just a couple of hours before they closed for the weekend, but Kaleb was friendly and happy to help. He reviewed our needs and budget and came up with a list of about 6 cars that fit. He talked about the features of each, had us pick a couple to look at first. He literally ran to each car to bring them up front for us so that we didn’t have to wander around the parking lot, and while we were driving, he made sure someone in financing would stay to help us. Once we made a decision, he helped us every step of the way, making sure we didn’t leave the lot without understanding the features on our car. At no point did we feel pressured to make a purchase or to purchase something out of our price range, and offered a great interior protection package to keep our leather seats looking good. I will definitely be back when it’s time for our next purchase, there’s no one else I’d rather buy a car from. He made us feel welcome even when it was time to go home, valued by working quickly without making us feel rushed, confident in our purchase, and prepared to drive off the lot with all the fancy technology in our Ford Escape.

HORRIBLE service. I had a scheduled a service appointment in the morning. When calling to check the status of my vehicle at 4:40PM, I was told nobody had looked at it yet. Calling the next day to check the status, nobody retuned my call. Calling the next day to check the status, I was told they would let me know. Its now 3 hours later and no call. This is vert poor service. There is NO point in making an appointment, if your not going to service the car in a timely manor.

Purchased a vehicle on June 16 and feel like we got deceived regarding purchase of extended warranties and GAP policies. Contacted Brett Dutton on June 23 to cancel warranties. On July 13, Brett tells me its in process and when I call the warranty company on 9/1, they have no record of ever receiving any cancellation request from the dealership. Brett wont return my calls or emails; have left several voice messages and emails with the manager Brian Speck and he wont return any messages either. Feel like the whole finance process was underhanded and sneaky; Brett told me you get 3 free oil changes with this vehicle. We even joked about how we would never use those since we live an hour away from the dealership. Got home to read the fine print and there is a $129 fee for prepaid services, which is for these so called free oil changes. Very bad experience with this dealership and will NEVER purchase from them in the future.

Always have a pleasant experience at Preferred Chevrolet. Jessica Lovaas is generally the person I deal with in the Service Department, and shes always very professional and friendly. She also never makes me feel like the auto ignorant person that I am! I really appreciate that in her, were always laughing by the end of the visit. Shes a keeper! A few perks that are important, the waiting area is very spacious and comfortable, and the tv is set on HGTV, which is much better than the news. Extremely clean waiting area, thats more like a beautiful den, bathrooms are spotless and nice amenities as well. The service is excellent and Im thrilled that Ive maintained my Cruze with the original dealer since day one. It gives me comfort that I know they know my car.

My wife and I bought a used Tahoe in May. A day or 2 after getting it home my wife got a call saying that an airbag was broken and that she just needed to take it in somewhere to have it fixed and it would all be covered. I wasn’t thrilled that they Knowingly sold my wife a car with a nonworking airbag. The next day we found out that her air-conditioning didn’t work. I called up there and again they said it was covered under warranty and that it would be paid for and fixed. Took it to a Chevy dealer for repairs and turns out nothing was covered. I called back up to preferred Chevy to ask them why none of this was covered and if they were going to take care of it. They told me to send the invoice and they would get everything figured out for us.That was over a month ago and I have resent the email as well as called to talk to the person I spoke with previously and have left him messages and have yet to hear back from anyone. I would highly recommend taking your business literally anywhere else.

We recently purchased a vehicle from this establishment and it was a disaster from the beginning. I had to put gas into the vehicle to even test drive it. Strike one... Then I dedicated I would like to purchase the vehicle and had to wait over 20 minutes for another shopper to get back from a test drive. Apparently they can’t actually sell the cars at the smaller dealership. What’s the point then? Strike 2... we addressed all the issues with the dealer, and he said he would have it all fixed. We spent about five hours at this dealership when we were approved for the car in the first hour...The brakes I was told would be done all the way around and all they did was turn the rotors on the front and put new pads.the windshield washer did not work, I was told that it would be fixed... got the car and the solvent sprays all over under the hood due to a leaking component. Really... this is a twenty dollar part that they want me to drive all the way to grand haven for because they screwed up.. they have a Toyota right in Grand Rapids, but since their mechanic screwed up they will not fix it in Grand Rapids. What a screwed up reason for a 20 dollar part.. all the same company. It was a bad experience from beginning to end and I will never buy a vehicle from any dealership that is affiliated with this name.

I recently purchased a Tahoe from this dealership. They bragged about their 21 point safety inspection. The air shocks (roll stability) on the back are junk and not noted in the inspection. Also multiple fault codes were found when my husband scanned it. The dealership refused to fix it but was willing to take a small amount off the price of the vehicle, that wont cover the cost of repairs (parts and labor). There was some major paint damage on the roof, hood and scratches on the sides and back that were negotiated during the deal. They fixed the the roof and hood but didnt touch the scratches on the sides and back. The salesman said theyll send me a paint stick or I can drive the 1.5 hours there to have it fixed. I feel like they try to hide issues with ther vehicles. I wouldnt recommend this dealership and wont buy a vehicle from them again.The day after I posted this review the salesman text me asking me to remove my review. Glad to see they dont want the truth being told.One week update:Less than 300 miles driven and more fault codes have come up (o2 sensors & airbags). Looks like they cleared codes to hide information from us.One month update:Purchased new tired for the tahoe and found out that 3 ball joints and a tie rod was bad. So much for their 21 point safety inspection. Please take anything you think about purchasing from them to a separate mechanic.

Quite irritated with my recent experience with the sales center. My husband and I both inquired TO MULTIPLE people about a current special program that we saw advertised at the dealership. The sales team had ALL of our information BEFORE our appointment. We got a sitter and raced over from Muskegon directly from work to make the appointment where we believed wed be getting a new vehicle. Bought my wife a car from here and we noticed the transmission was slipping. The salesman told us the vehicle comes with a warranty so if we decide to buy it, they will fix the issue at no charge. We bought the car, brought it to the service center and were told they couldn’t find any codes for a bad transmission and nothing was wrong. I took a mechanic on a ride so they could witness the transmission slipping. The mechanic said we would have to replace the spark plugs and bring it back if it was still happening. I had the plugs and wires replaced and checked and the transmission was still slipping so I brought it back again and they said it was a recalled shifter cable. So we set up an appointment to have that replaced and that didn’t fix it either. Since the car was my wife’s daily driver, by the time we got it back to them for the fourth time they said the warranty expired and there wasn’t anything they could do about it other than replace or repair it for full price.

Bought a truck about a month ago, I took it back in after a couple weeks for a small noise and a possible bad wheel bearing. My sales man Ryan called me, told me to come in and grab a loaner because the issue they found needed parts that were back ordered. Stopped in grabbed the car and was on my way. This is the second lease weve had with Preferred Chevy in Grand Haven. We have always had a great experience. Weve never felt pressured to complete any deal and theyve always been accommodating to our requests (i.e. staying within our budget). In addition, theyve been generous with either buying our personally-owned vehicle or with moving our lease forward/furnishing us a good and fair deal. After leasing for many years, we are loyal to the brand.

Dont bring your vehicle here the people that work in the service area dont have a clue how to do their job and I dont mean the mechanics they do good work but the people that wait on you and take your money and tell you whats wrong they are completely incompetent we will never go back here again I suggest to anyone reading this find somewhere else to take your vehicle your will be way better off somewhere else

Purchased my truck from you nearly 20 years ago and have faithfully come to you for all services. Extremely unhappy with advisor Owen and tech Dustin for taking it upon themselves to switch me to synthetic oil. A vehicle thats 20 years old and has 329,312 miles on it has been cared for and treated in a particular way. Switching or continuing the same oil should have been my decision not yours. More importantly, with 329,312 mile on my 2002; it is soon time for me to purchase new. This was not the type of customer service I have experienced in the past, nor do I want in the future.

I highly recommend staying away from this Chevy dealer. I bought a Chevy GMC Dinali a month ago. not even a week in from buying the truck all of a sudden had a bunch of issues with it. their service department is horrible. this Chevy is only about getting the money out of your pocket and selling cars. They are not about the customer. As that I am a business owner I know what customer satisfaction is. Just brought my truck in this morning they said they would give me a rental car but it’s not even equal or more value than what I brought in to get fixed. As I said I’m a business owner and I definitely need a truck for towing and I can’t tow it with a four-cylinder. I am not a very negative person but this will make a person very negative. so I highly recommend to stay away from the Chevy dealer in grand Haven.

Have to say I’ve purchased many new cars in my life across different brands. I am extremely disappointed in my purchase from this dealer. Bought a gmc terrain 4 months ago and of course it ran perfectly until the 3 month warranty had expired and now I have had nothing but problems. I have spent thousands so far to keep this car in working order and just bought it 4 months ago! Stay away if you are looking for a reliable vehicle!
