Staff are sometimes knowledgeable though they are always willing to help. My only feedback to the store is please do not talk to me about membership. I am already spending $100s of dollars at your store every year. Can that be enough?

The staff here are amazing! They are very helpful and easy to get a hold of and will check if you need help multiple times. A big difference from other establishments that you have to hunt down the staff and then seem to know little or dont want to help you. Good job REI Flagstaff!

I have trouble getting comfortable shoes and dean and Meredith were so phenomenally helpful, patient, and kind. I could go on at length about the experience but instead I’ll say that your in good hands here. Really superb costumer service and genuine people. And that’s rare in a world where everyone wears mask, of the literal and figurative variety. I also think they have Uber cool names. Shop here!

I bought some incredible winter boots there that I am obsessed with! Granted, the boots were a mens shoe since all the womens boots were sold out, but I absolutely love them anyway! The guy that was helping me in the shoe department was very helpful and patient. I appreciated his calm demeanor. I also found THE perfect jacket there and it has been my most favorite purchase in the last 10 years. I can dress it up or down and I now wear it all the time. Love this place!

I’m traveling through Flagstaff for the AZT and went in to pick up an order and some other items I wanted. I’m pretty self sufficient in an outdoor store but I have to mention that this was the most unfriendly, unhelpful REI store I have been to in the past 10 years. The cashier was friendly and the mask checker was cool but that was about it. Most of the employees seemed apathetic.

The building is beautiful. Prices are high for my taste unfortunately. Staff seems very helpful and not pushy at all.

The employees had no idea where to find what I was looking for (tent water repellent). Sent me to the footwear department. I finally found on my own. But they had what I needed.

Very nice open layout, a limited selection as compared to other REI locations but overall a nice and modern shopping experience.

Stop requiring masks in your store. There is not a state mandates requirement. Give people the freedom to choose. I will not shop at your store until you follow the science.

We used to shop here and have spent $$ over the years and was going to do the same for the holiday season. However, we won’t be back as they wanted us to put masks on our children ages 3 & 5. Never had an issue before with the children not wearing masks, but this is enough for us. As a business they can enforce/do as they please and as a consumer we can do the same. We will choose to spend our money elsewhere!

I already felt bad enough shopping at a corporate store in Flag, but I went to return an item that started falling apart a month into owning it. Due to the pandemic, I didn’t return this item—now, ignoring their 365 day satisfaction guarantee—the staff debated me that my wear and tear was normal (as it should be, what item doesn’t hold up to normal?) and that the issues I had were nothing. And they wouldn’t take them back even after quoting the 365 day satisfaction guarantee to my face. Not coming back, going local from here on out.

REI in general is just a fun spot, staff are nice and willing to help with anything. Got myself the Arizona sticker. Prices however are always high.

The cashier over charged for an plastic spork. The price on the spork said 90 cent. She charged me $3.22???? Racial profiling? Maybe? Never shopping there again. 👎🏼

I purchased all the dry food, bear spray, food canister, clothes in there before my hiking trip across the country and I was surprised by the staff - they answered all my questions and was so patient with my not so perfect English 🙂 thanks!

Matt and Chrysalynn (sorry if thats poorly spelled) are AMAZING people and employees. They always have an upbeat attitude and are super helpful. I get most of my shoes from this REI and Matt has been helping me for years. Chrysalynn was a champ in the shoe Dept today she was handling multiple customers at once and never got frustrated or anything. She was amazing! Thank you thank you thank you for being model REI staff members!!

Sales Rep Sophie was the best! She assisted me with what I was looking for. She wrote down item numbers for me. I didnt have to go run down a sales rep. She was conveniently there. She answered all my questions and gave helpful suggestions! Thanks Sophie! The young man that assisted me was also very patient and got what I needed ordered. Very Professional! 10 stars😁

Just visited Flag store. This huge store allows about 10 or 12 customers in at a time. I only saw about 8 customers shopping.Masks required. OK good.Hand sanitizer. OK good.You make 25 customers stand 6 feet apart outside in line for 30 minutes.. When inside they could easily shop 25 or 30 feet apart.Reasonable health care taken too far. I’ve been a loyal customer for at least 35 years. I won’t be back until crazy rules changed. There are lots of other places to buy $24 socks and others expensive hiking gear.

REI is basically the big box solution to mountain sports. Merchandise is high end and the store can accomodate the casual hiker and a mountaneer looking to summit K2. Employees like their jobs here, a sign of good management.

Prepared for a busy crowd of people. Many employees walking around and offering to help. Made the trip much easier to get in and out efficiently.

Not a lot of selections. They dont even have guns... just clothes, bikes, and camping gear. And plenty of drinking bottles. Prices are ridiculously high, its probably why they didnt do so well in 2020. If you want your outdoor hobo starter pack.... start here.

I have bought a handful of items from REI. Their quality is fine to great, no problem there. But it is overpriced. My complaint with them is that they have fallen into the silliness that is CoVID. Somehow it is acceptable for them to have a line 20-30 deep outside so long as only 10 or so are inside. The logic of it all is lost on me. Ill shop the local store where they let me in and are more than helpful.

Excellent shop store..! But I am very unhappy, who recommended us the sleeping bags were not the ones we had requested even though the price could be more, because we did not want those that have regulations to prevent cancer and / or other ailments due to their materials, and we dont bother to check the label, but surprise. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, California .. we are not surprised that these sleeping bags were made with materials that can cause cancer .. We are very upset about this and now back to Florida driving I will return the 2 that I bought .. Very ill will of this boy who attended us .. I hope now to find the ideal one to my expectations and I better verify and not trust myself. Not for this I will stop choosing this business that has excellent products.Success in a business is not only selling or deceiving the customer, it is listening to him and trying to make him buy the best and also his expectations

There are some quality people working at this REI store. Devon in particular showed me how to pitch a tent and repack it. He went way above and beyond! I purchased the tent and a whole lot more.

Really fancy bikes and nice gear.

No stoke from employees at this location. Didn’t engage with us while we were browsing and didn’t offer to help find a solution when the product we’d come to buy (which the website said they had in stock) wasn’t in stock. Went to Peace Surplus a mile away and found more stoke AND what we were looking for.

Amazing staff. Jonah answered our call and helped us troubleshoot a solution to a ripped sleeping-bag bag, and Eric clearly loves his job and the outdoor life and offered great trip advice as we head into Utah’s parks. Thanks for all the help!

It’s ridiculous to “thank” people for wearing a mask when you’re forcing them to wear one. Thanking them indicates they have a choice. When they don’t. You also shouldn’t be forcing children to wear a mask.

Dont buy Osprey products. My experience is they dont hold up and the company wont fix/replace the issue. Ive spent three decades hiking, fishing, hunting, canyoneering, bicycling, camping, etc.. Ive used all the major brands and Ive never been so let down as I have by Osprey.

Ordered online for instore pickup. Got an email, order is ready for pickup.Went there and requested the pickup. Everything started nice and calm until it came to the point one item was missing.It took them for ever, even just to give me an answer how this accrued. Answer to my question was, I dont know, what...This was the worst experience and I have now to wait for or hopefully get the remaining item.

Was treated SO rudely by 2 different employees while returning an item well within the return window. Will never make another purchase at the Flagstaff REI after this experience. Online support from REI corporate was however, really great.

Awful customer service. Almost all the women who work here are super rude and unhelpful. One woman was so rude to my husband and told him to back up because he was going to look at a pair of shoes that were to close to her, and they were both wearing masks sooo it made no sense. Anyway ill take my business elsewhere

Super precautions theyre taking during this COVID-era shopping! Limiting to 25 at once and shade out front for those waiting. Plenty of social distancing once you get inside to be thoughtful of not only other customers, but the associates, as well! Can tell the company is very concerned about their team by requiring customers to wear (or offer a free) mask to enter and offering hand sanitizer while waiting in line. Greatly appreciate the ends theyre going to to ensure a healthy shopping experience for everyone, at-risk or not. Companies like this is how the spread is kept in check. Thank you!

The store itself always seems a bit overpriced on big camping items, but they also only seem to sell top quality equipment so I’m sure it would be worth it if I decided to buy my own gear. The staff is always incredibly informative and really knows their stuff.

There can be a line to get in based the number of people in the store. Appreciate that and that they expect you to wear your mask properly.

Im in the process of starting to ride bicycles again after 30 years. Came into REI to get everything except a bike. Stood around for 15 minutes without anyone asking me if I needed help, I had lots of questions. Finally gave up and left.

I love REI...Please work on customer service! I asked to see a small Cannondale for my son...the mechanic was awesome...promote and give raise! He asked three REI female employees to help me but they were so enthralled with a local hippy that yall lost a sale! My son was disappointed at 3 years years old...I know im 55 and ugly...but cash talks.

This is a great store for outdoor gear, clothes, etc. The staff here were very friendly and helpful when we were here. I would high recommend checking them out even if you just want to browse. They have all kinds of interesting things!

I used to work at REI in Boston, MA, so I am very familiar with these stores. And the Flagstaff location is one of the absolute best, the people are SUPER attentive to your needs and are always ready to help with their top-of-the-mountain knowledge. And they always have a great stock of products. Love this place!

Devon in the Footware Department is the reason I’m giving REI a 5 star review. He was so extremely patient with my Husband and I while we searched for new shoe insoles. Well spoken, very professional and FULL of knowledge! Devon was helping 3-4 people at the time and he managed his time with us all like a BOSS! Staff is cheerful, helpful, and sympathetic if your day is just going all wrong. They do good work and try to keep things as affordable as they can. Theyre honest and willing to share all possible options for fixing a bike.

Great location. Its all R. E. I. whats there to say really? You either go outside or you dont. If you do go outside, I highly recommend coming here for any and all equipment. The membership buy in program is 100% legit, do it.

Limited selection on shoes, apparel, backpacks, and hiking gear compared to other REI stores in larger markets. Anyway, found a few pair of hiking shoes here last night at a reasonable price compared to other sporting good stores in town selling the same product. Overall, I will be back in the future to test a few products out before buying online. Since most of the limited selection this REI sells in store I can buy online for 1/2 the price.

There is absolutely no place to park so I couldnt shop and this is the second time this has happened. REI needs to put up signs telling people that only customers can park in their parking lot because the housing around the store doesnt provide parking. I went to Peace Surplus instead and they are downtown and I had better luck finding parking.

Purchased a bike here. The staff was friendly and walked us through the entire process and tested multiple aspects out to make sure the bike was the right one. Their prices can be a little steep but youre also paying for customer service and quality.

Very nice location with a friendly accommodating staff. Maybe its because I have an adorable puppy with me every time I go in, but they are always super nice. Good selection and great brands. It can get pricey depending on what you are into, but they got your back with a pack if that is what you need. All in all they are great and if you dont like it there are other outfitters in the area you can use. Get out and hike! LEAVE NO TRACE.

A manager named Kieran was super helpful to me tonight. I went in to pick up my new Altras (!!!) and didn’t receive the gift card I thought I was getting physical. Turns out, the gift cards get sent electronically and I missed the expiration date. Because of the confusion, they were able to hook me up with a $20 member card and I was very happy I did not have to go in to how it wasn’t my fault that the card blah blah blah, they helped me no questions asked. Thank you REI Flagstaff!

When I received my new EV Bike, one that would actually conquer the hills in my neighborhood, I realized that I needed new cargo bags. My goal with this project was to create an alternative solution to buying and retrieving groceries, etcetera, from local retail stores. Fortunately, I found my solutions at the local REI store for outdoor gear. I had to do some experiments before I found the correct combination for my bike’s configuration. In the end I arrived at a super solution, including new bike locks and a helmet. It was great for me to solve all of this in one store. I joined as a member as a result of this.

Drove into Flagstaff late from Oklahoma and called to ask them to hold the doors since it was closing. (I forgot some gear at home) Everyone inside was extremely helpful and kind. They showed us where the gear was located and gave us some great advice and tips for the Grand Canyon.We survived the backpacking and it was amazing!! Thanks for the help and we will for sure be back to do the North Rim.

The employees here only sometimes dont know what they are talking about but rest assure they will be kind about it. They have all your camping needs and people to help you fit and size equipment. Good place to go if you are interested in any outdoor calming activities

My husbands shoes started to fall apart at the Grand Canyon. Luckily, this REI was not too far away from where we were staying. We went over Labor Day weekend. It was busy with the sales going on, but still received great service. The guys working in the shoe department were very helpful.

Nice selection of products. Prices are a bit high for clothing, but standard MSRP for non sale outdoor goods. I usually try to buy things on sale here (or when I have a good coupon).Staff is friendly and always share helpful information about the equipment.

A great big shout out to the Bike repair people. A friend was visiting from Denmark and had his derailer separate from his Bike on the way to the grand Canyon. The repair shop was able to replace the part, do a tune up and get him on his way in 90 min. Great team of people. Great store too.

My first time in an REI store. My hubby and I went in because he wanted to find a warm under armour sweater similar to one he purchased before at this same store. Didnt find a sweater he liked but purchased 2 hydro flasks.

This store embodies how the REI member experience is meant to be. After being frustrated with the service in the Phoenix stores I rediscovered why I am a member in the Flag store. In particular, Jake in the footwear department did a superb job. He listened to what I needed and then educated me on the features of several shoe models. He offered his intelligent insights and brought me countless pairs over the next hour. There was no pressure and no rush, just stellar service with a smile. I have also had excellent service in the bike department here. Thanks Flagstaff REI team!
