All in all, we had a great time biking in the beautiful mountain bike trails of Flagstaff. As far as our bike shop experience, however, I was incredibly disappointed.My husband and I were visiting Flagstaff with family over our Anniversary and had coordinated a day of biking while our infant son was babysat for the day. I called two weeks in advance and confirmed our rental at least four times by phone, each time feeling satisfied with my over the phone customer service.We had planned to pick up our bikes the day before our full day rental, after confirming this with an employee who told us to arrive at 5-5:30 on Sunday night to pick up our bikes for an additional $10 charge for day-before pickup. We showed up at 4:45 only to find the shop closed. We were so confused and frustrated! We had to coordinate a pickup from family, who graciously agreed to drop us off the next morning for our full day rental. We waited for the shop to open 5 minutes late. When we asked about what had happened the previous night, the employee said they had decided to sporadically close at 4:30 ( 30 min early) and forgot to check their rental books before doing so (and also never checked their voicemail to hear my heads up call). After re-confirming our rental for the 5th time, the employee proceeded to find bikes that fit my husband and I and then spent the next 25-30 min prepping the bikes, which should have been ready for our rental before the shop opened that day (in my opinion).We both work at bike shops in MN and love the casual small-town feel of a local shop. I want to say that I really enjoyed my experience here, but honestly, this is one of the worst examples of how to run a customer-facing business I have experienced. :(

Great service from Scott. Picked up one of their used rental bikes. It had been well maintained and taken care of which speaks a lot of the shop on its own.

Great rental bikes, the trails are awesome, but they sent me out with a brand new bike and charged me for normal wear/tear scratches. If you rent from Cosmic, I suggest you turn them down if they try to send you out with a brand new bike.

Highly personable experience with Scott and Dan, they took the time to explain what they fixed so we can continue riding the Arizona Trail with confidence. Genuine guys who love to ride, are highly skilled working on bikes, and showed us they care by educating us on our bike issues. Can’t ask for more in a local bike shop!

I brought my really old, tired bike to Cosmic Cycles and asked if they could make it rideable. It probably hadnt been touched in five years and needed a lot of love. They had it back to me within three days looking and riding like new! Very affordable for the work that they did and the bike has been going great since! I really appreciate the work they did and service they provided. I will definitely continue to bring my bikes here and suggest others do the same!

Wow, totally amazed! This bike shop and more importantly the people that run this thing, are amazing to say the least. Truly an outsider from Flagstaff, I had no Idea of any trails or thought of where to go, but thankfully the guys at Cosmic Cycles had a free shuttle day at the perfect time I was there. Not really knowing what to expect, I was a little timid and rather unsure about the trying it at first. However, as soon as we (was with a buddy of mine) stepped out of my car from the parking we were instantly welcomed and were brought in and talked to like one of their own personal riding buddies. Every one of their staff members are down to earth and are so cool to talk to. Couldn’t have had a better time of being shuttled up and down Elden Mountain with the people I was with, thanks to cosmic cycles! Had a complete Blast and experienced some trails I never thought I’d see nor existed. I never felt so personally connected to a bike shop ever before this and it was only just one day of riding! I highly recommend these guys, they treat you like family, are super interesting, friendly, and have a very high sense of knowledge and passion when it comes to bikes. Again couldn’t have been happier with my experience. Thanks Guys, and hope to be back soon.

This shop is awesome. Ian was the greatest. I called him last min needing bike rentals for a big group of boy scouts. He was fast in emailing and calling me back and finding bikes for as many boys as he could. The bikes were in fantastic condition and worked great. Even gave some very good trail advice...was such a blast! Thank you so much Ian for taking such good care of us. Well be back!

Cosmic is the place for specialized care, honest advice and thorough reliable workmanship. You cannot go wrong visiting Ian and Scott. They have done a good service to the original owner of Cosmic Cycles and Cosmic is a hidden Flagstaff Treasure that provides the best customer service, which in todays world is a rare treat. I was looking for new bike and was unhappy with other brands in town on rides. I decided to try a Yeti out here. Scott and Ian were great, helping me get on a rental. Ian spent 20 minutes helping me get my suspension set up right for my riding style ON A RENTAL. The Yeti is the best bike I have ever ridden which is saying a lot after 30 years of mountain biking. The price was the same as internet prices and Ian let me knit pick the bike for several months after buying it with both Scott and Ian being very patient and attentive. The price and service are excellent and the shop has a small town feel from the people to the shop itself. This is not a large volume shop so the personal feel is real.

Rented a bike and had an outstanding experience. Got set up and out the door in no time. I was off to some great riding that is minutes away from the shop. Really friendly and knowledgeable service, couldnt ask for much more. Highly recommended.

Cosmic is the oldest and best shop in Flagstaff. They have the most knowledgeable mechanics and with no doubt, the highest quality rental bikes around. Its a small shop with great personal service. Highly recommended!

A buddy and I stopped by Cosmic Cycles while thru-biking the Arizona Trail. Why did we stop? Well… we weren’t quite sure. Our bikes were doing…all right. We just needed someone with an experienced eye to look at our little clicks and quibbles and tell us that us that our steeds would be able to weather the remaining few hundred miles to the Utah border. Scott at Cosmic went above and beyond. Not only did he take a break from the bike he was working on to come outside and check our setups, he offered us a hose to rinse every thing off, and some chain lube to make our drivetrains happy. He seemed genuinely stoked about our trip and, quite honestly, his attitude was crucial in giving me the motivation to finish the Trail. His shop is my favorite kind of LBS: a hole in the wall place with quality bikes, quality parts, quality service, and an owner who bikes and genuinely cares about the experiences of his customers. Hope I can make it back to Flagstaff ASAP so I rip the local trails and support the local business. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Walked in without any bike reservation and was created with a smile, positive attitudes, and recommendations for a great ride. Picked out a Yeti, had my wife drive me up the mountain, and was back at the shop four hours later with a big smile and a great taste of FLG singletrack. Cosmic Cycles goes above and beyond in quality customer service, repair, rentals, and bikes. The quality of their maintenance repair is unparalleled with any other shop in town. They helped me purchase an amazing bike, get it set up, and even learn a couple of maintenance tricks to practice on my own.
