I’ve gotten nothing but ~premium~ treatment at friendly street market— including the time I accidentally spilled a bunch of cucumbers from the 50% off shelf, and the staff managed to make me feel like it was a cool and normal thing to do. Also yesterday I asked about the song that was playing and an employee wrote down the title and artist for me! Thank you!!! It made my afternoon :)

Friendly Street Market is a great place to meet with friends and neighbors over coffee, tea, beer or wine. There are high quality goods, groceries and produce available. Natural and organic cosmetics and health supplements and supplies. Its an especially nice, small, neighborhood market with a very friendly atmosphere, good barista and a nice, covered patio that is heated in the winter and shaded in the summer.

Review №21

Great customer service and mostly high quality organic produce. great selection of spices and coffee. some items are very expensive for what they are. its an expensive place to shop in an expensie neighborhood, but that kind of tradeoff is expected. they have a good selection of vegan food substitutes for meat, dairy, etc, if youre looking for that.be wary of the middle-aged and elderly women who patronize here, especially if you have a service animal. this is no fault of the establishment, but many bourgeois, entitled, sheltered old women shop here and they do not make for good conversation. other than that, they have fostered a friendly community in the neighborhood and as far as I understand have held small parties and such on their patio, before the lockdown. if what you need is here and nowhere else, its a nice place to get it. otherwise, you can usually find what you need, cheaper, somewhere else. if anything, you are paying for the convenience of shopping at a familiar place without leaving your neighborhood.

Love this place. Great deli food and excellent vegan muffins. I had the fritata and will go back just for that. The market selection is good, the produce fresh. But the best part? The best part is the outstanding customer service and friendly non judgemental atmosphere. The outdoor seating area has an enclosure that is heated, which is perfect for our winters.Try some of the local produce. It really does taste better. Oh, and you have to get a chai tea.

This is an awesome little health food, dining, grocery store. They have been on keeping customers safe since day one of Covid. Alas only 3 stars from me because of covid. Deli is closed for sliced meats and cheeses and at least still offer food, coffee and an outdoor seating area to enjoy the last bit of summer we have.I went in too get some items for breakfast, wound up going to Dari-mart instead. We are all in the time of compromise and they are eager to help the customer a healthy alternate.

This used to be a pleasant place to have brunch or lunch. Youd see friends from the neighborhood and have a reasonably-priced meal with a wide selection to choose from. Then the deli was rented to Party Downtown and now its overpriced food and a tiny menu aimed at an evening crowd. Locals who still go there during daytime all sit outside where its quiet enough to chat. Sad to see a neighborhood daytime gathering place change into an expensive night-time spot for hipsters.

Several generations of my family have shopped their. Unfortunately, some of the staff give off a sense of elitesness. Great food and drinks including cbd schtuff. The shortbread comes in a generous portion and is to die for! Good outdoor seating, though overall the seating feels a little cramped and cluttered, like Im always about to trip on something, but thats cafes for ya. Best enjoyed with headphones if you sit inside as theres a lot of loud white noise from all the compressors in their plethora of coolers near the seating area. So, basically go in summer when you can use the lovely outdoor patio.

It was the day after the Oregon Country Fair. I missed my plane and was starving after having packed all morning. My friend dropped me off at Friendly Street Market. I was expecting your basic health food store fare, but noooo.... the food was spectacular. Healthy Gourmet. I live in LA and for this kind of Cafe, friendly Street Market was better than anything I can get in LA. And to top it all off, the cook and I had a lovely chat about the Grateful Dead and Oregon Country Fair. This definitely doesnt happen in LA. Could you please start a sister store in Santa Monica?

Ah, Friendly Street Market. You used to be my favorite neighborhood grocery store, staffed by longtime familiar faces who were friendly (go figure) and knowledgeable, a relaxing place to buy healthy local food. Although all the longtime veterans are gone, the new staff are nice people, but now its more of a watering hole with a store attached. The primary focus seems to be on selling booze, while the produce and bulk sections languish. If youre looking for someplace with a modest selection of expensive beer and wine this might be your spot, but if you want groceries, I cant recommend it.

I visit every time I am in town & I collect the coffee mugs. I do not lije the separation between the leased deli & the store itself. There was one employee working the store section & she could not go on back to find other colors of the coffee mug, because she was alone. She was nice, but offended when I was trying to distinguish why the deli was not part of the store, I used the term them & us. I could not make a store purchase at the deli or the other way around &,this was new from when I was there last August. I love the ice cream at the deli, & I appreciate the selection at the store.

This place has been a vital part of the Friendly St neighborhood ever since I can remember. Terrance Potassium used to do a vegetable segment for the local news every week way back in the day from here. Great little store for all the things you need when you do not want to deal with the MOC parking lot. Good bulk food, coffee, and excellent organic fruit and vegetables. Highly recommended when you are in the neighborhood.

They host fun family friendly events, wine tastings, holiday parties, and so much more.Large semi-enclosed outdoor seating area, with heaters to keep it comfy all year long. Everythings good except a customer service orientation. Great food-loved my Ruben even though I ordered the Philly. Ordering process was also overly complex. Then, to buy the chips by the register, I had to go to another register/cashier opposite because their registers are not integrated. Finally, staff seemed more focused on hanging out with some patrons than on service. This is the kind of place you want to love and share with others. I still want to love it.
