Ed and his team have my three guitars sounding great! My Martin’s are awesome guitars but they can be a little moody with varying temperature and humidity up here in Mile high. They do a great job of keeping them in shape!

Pretty mediocre experience. Setup and binding work was done properly, but that was it. Poor communication, poor turn-around time and poor customer service. There are much better spots to take your acoustic in Denver.

This is an excellent guitar shop. Heath has worked on a lot of my instruments including adding pickups to an acoustic, an Irish bouzouki, fixed my jazzmaster and just changed the pickups on a danelectro and set it up perfectly. Can’t recommend these guys enough. They also have a great selection of guitars

Attending the two week intensive course at Victor Guitar was an experience that I will never forget. After a lot of research and deliberation, I decided that my money was best spent on taking this course to further my skills as a luthier. I came home with a guitar that was well worth the cost of the course, and a great deal of knowledge that is invaluable. Edward and his staff are highly skilled, friendly, and are willing to teach you anything you want to know. I would highly recommend you take this course, visit their boutique guitar shop, and have your instruments repaired and set up here. You will not be disappointed.

Heath and Edward did an excellent job repairing a crack in my Taylor E314. Heath walked me through the steps they would be taking and made some recommendations on how to continue maintaining my guitar when I came to pick it up. To any other reviewers who are complaining that they didnt call....they will send you and email when the work is complete and they tell you this when you bring your guitar in for work. Very knowledgeable and great results. Thank you.

This is one of the best guitar shops that I have ever been too. They will help their customers with anything that you need. I have some vintage guitars that they helped me set up my action with, and took the time to do each guitar individuals to my likely. I am always nervous to bring my 64’ P basses to guitar shops, but after working with these guys it’s the only place I take it to be worked on. Victors guitar shop isn’t a guitar center we’re they don’t care about their customers, it’s the complete opposite, and that’s why we love it.

As the owner of a hard working players guitar, a 75 D-28, I recently had a live gig accident with the guitar falling, stand and all, off a local stage. The result was a nice pinky-sized divot in the face of the top below the pick guard. Less concerned with aesthetics, I wanted a professional repair that would heal the wound and ensure the stability of the top for the future. Edward quoted a fair price for the fix which was exactly the number I expected to pay. He also made multiple recommendations to improve the play-ability of the guitar which included a complete re-fret. Of the mind I wanted the guitar at its absolute best I went for it. First, the divot fix is incredible with no detectable variance in the finish. Second, the re-fret, intonation, and action set is impeccable. If you believe everything happens for a reason, the tragic fall has resulted in my guitar being reborn. Edwards price was honest and fair! Rick Lobato

Just had a setup done on an old Heritage guitar. Edward did an AMAZING job! Ive had this guitar for over 10 years and its never played this well. I told him my preferences and he nailed it. I lived in Nashville for a while and had it setup by the best in town and they cant touch Edwards work. Ill definitely be back.

Ive had three guitars set up here, all with great results. Edward and Tom are always very generous with their time and willing to answer even very basic questions, which I appreciate since I am somewhat new to guitars. Theres a wealth of knowledge in this place. Also its a neat space with an old-time craftsman vibe to it. And cool consignment guitars to boot.

I took the two week intensive guitar building class. I have been fortunate to do some really cool things in my life, but this was perhaps the most satisfying and fulfilling (and I made a wonderful guitar)! The guys were very helpful and instructive but you did your own work. I am already planning my next class with Victor. They were also very responsive for help in tweaking the guitar as needed after the class.

I had him set up my new Blueridge Br-160 guitar, to give it low action, and play in tune perfectly. Its got medium strings on it and is easier to play than electric guitars Ive noodled on. Hes very good. Even if you got a new guitar, run it by Victor Guitar and have them do a full set up. you will be amazed. Trust me.

Edward is simply the best. Fantastic luthier who can fix anything. Take his two week intensive course to learn how to hand-make your own Martin-style guitar. Absolutely incredible teacher.

Edward has fixed my Martin guitar, (and friend), two times... When my guitar exploded and he put it back together solid and still plays like it never happen. Recently he nearly removed a gouge on its base so well its nearly invisible. He also crafted new frets since I had worn down the old ones and worked on the action. I feel like I have a new guitar. I will recommend Victor Guitar to anyone who will listen.

I took my Gibson SG there last week for a setup and cleanup. Ed had it done within a few days and the guitar now plays beautifully again! Also, I had forgotten to ask him to check the input jack which was cutting out. He found the problem anyway and corrected it for no extra cost. I highly recommend this place.

Many of the local guitar and music chain stores have decent techs, but they just dont compare to Edward Dick of Victor Guitar. The techs are good at setups and installing new pickups, etc., but they cant repair wood, correct serious issues, or do potentially risky work, like unfreezing a truss rod. If you have any anxiety over a guitar project, go to Victor Guitar!

I would not recommend this place at all. Even after reading a few good reviews I was amazed at the poor quality of work that was done. I had a family member drop my guitar off to have it polished, adjusted, and knew strings. Also, I needed the electric wires taped on the inside that had come loose. I had spoke to them specifically about this. After 2 weeks with no call that the guitar was done, I had the same family member pick my guitar up. No polish, no adjustments, no wires taped back inside. They did put new strings on (wrong gadge) and they decided to put black permanent marker on several scuffs we agreed to be left alone. This is very noticeable. Im very sad that my guitar was handled this way. I called and they just said bring it back. Very unhappy. This was my baby. So essentially I paid $106 for the wrong stings and black permanent marker I didnt ask for. Im surprised because they advertise such good work. I will never let them touch my guitar. A tech named Heath was supposedly the one who worked on it. I hope this helps others that are looking to have a simple fix. GO TO THE GUITAR SHOP ON COLFAX. he might be a dick but he does good work at least. That is all.

This shop is the best. Ive consigned a number of guitars with Edward and sold two, so far. Edward and Tom have repaired and set up serveral of these Vintage Guitars for me and I couldnt be more satisfied with the results. These guys are VERY helpful and willing to give helpful advice.I am signed up for a class with Robert OBrian through Victor Guitar and would encourage anyone to take a look at all the different Classes. Take a look at the Web Site for class descriptions.Dealing with Edward has been great and will continue.

Victor Guitar is the heart and soul of guitar craftsmanship in Denver. I found the store by doing a search on Martin guitars website for places that do warranty repairs. I didnt need a warranty repair but my Martin was in very bad shape. I ended up taking all three of my guitars to Edward and he took his time looking over each one. In the short time that we chatted about each guitar I learned a great deal about guitar construction and maintenance.Since my first visit Ive returned twice more and will be going back again, probably in the next week or two. Ive had my Ibanez RG540S set-up by Edward and the action is wonderfully low, the fretboard is straight as a rail and it plays beautifully. The latest guitar they set up was my Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop, 2011 model. It has one of the last ebony fretboards that Gibson made and is my absolute pride and joy. I got it back last night and actually spent much of the evening recording the tone and sustain on the guitar. When I chatted to Edward about it we agreed that what Id like on the Les Paul is more tone and Im less worried about a super low action. And thats exactly what I got. Up on the 12th, 15th and 18th frets, doing a bend and holding it with a JCM800 amplifier and 1960s cab gives me unbelievable sustain with a tone that is clear and classic Les Paul. And the action is also perfect. If you do go to Victor Guitar, make sure youre not in a rush because you are in the presence of greatness and you would do well to take the time to ask as many questions as you can about guitar construction and maintenance and then take the time to listen. Thanks to Edward Ill now be storing my acoustic guitars in a more humid environment and have a reasonably good idea how to maintain my electrics. If you have a guitar that you love, even if you dont think it needs anything done to it, take it in and let Victor Guitar have a look at it. I didnt think my Les Paul needed anything done, but now that I know how its supposed to play Ill be getting a proper set-up done at least a couple of times a year.
