Test drove a possible, and will return soon to check it out more (we found a rattle during the test drive that will have to be fixed.) My only complaint was reaching car max to schedule appointments. At first I tried phoning; I was on hold over 20 minutes. I made an appointment on line and had a great visit. When I tried to make a second appointment to accept your offer and sell my car, there was no obvious option to schedule such an appointment. I did phone and got an appointment. Other than these problems , I had a great experience; your price was higher than my new car dealers offer.

When I tell you that I literally ran out of gas right in front of Carmax you would probably think I’m lying. I was on my way to a gas station when the car just slowed down drastically and thanks to the universe, it happened right outside the store on a very busy street.I have no roadside assistance so when I walked in and told the greeter, Zack, my issue.. I didn’t expect him being able to do much. To my surprise, Zack and the whole team at carmax was happy to help me out. They were able to help with enough gas to make it to the gas station and home. For this I am truly grateful.When I have car needs in the future I am going to make sure I give carmax a try because any company this nice and willing to help is a company that I want to bring my business and trust to. Thank you again Zack and team!

First of all, I want to say that the sales team was incredible. Very accommodating given the extremely busy and jam-packed schedule. My issue mainly lies with the condition of the vehicle when I came to pick it up, and the slightly-too-carefree attitude of management when it came to time management.My sales associate Joel had to clean the car (as it hadnt been cleaned at all) and had to fuel up the car (a cording to Joel it had 1/8 of a tank). This particular location knew I was picking up the vehicle 4 days in advance, but my sales associate was forced to do it himself, something that definitely isnt part of his job.Now I do not blame Joel, as I was already sitting and waiting for paperwork to be approved for about an hour at this point and Im sure he just wanted to help me get the best experience possible (all credit to him, great lad), but the maintainence team or whoever is in charge of that really needs to get back on point. I spent another half hour vacuuming the car out myself and cleaning the windshield, as it looked like the windshield had never been cleaned once and was covered in streaks, heavily obstructing my view in the sun. Also ordered repair paint from Hyundai directly, as there are more than 20 chips and scratches in the paint that I somehow didnt notice before purchasing (my fault for not being diligent enough I suppose). That isnt a huge deal, but I paid 21k for a car. At least fix the scratches, guys, youre trying to sell a product and build up a base of repeat customers. This is NOT the way.Ultimately, these arent huge issues but they arent a very good look for the company. That said (at the Bald Hill Road, Cranston RI location), Brian, Barry, and Joel were probably the greatest auto salespeople I have ever encountered in my 36 years alive and they are whats giving this review stars. Treat them well!!!!

Went in with an instant cash offer for my car. Although appt was for 5pm, I arrived at 1105am. And within 10 mins of checking in, I was assisted by a sweet lady Janet, who took photos, test drove my car and literally 2 hrs later I was out of there. Of course like any dealer they do low ball you, but thats expected. Other than that...good experience.

We came in to sell our car. The guy that went out to assess it never came back. We waited at his desk for more than an hour waiting, and only found out when we asked that he had gone home for the day. We were told dont worry someone will be with us shortly. Ha! I wished we had gone to Attleboro, MA again. Warwick does not have its act together.

The offer was good, in fact it was much better than a dealership or Carvana. I know that CarMax will turn a big profit on my car and I think that’s fair. The CarMax service is a very nice middle ground, where you’ll get three times a dealer trade-in offer (and twice as much as Carvana) and without the time and hassle of having to sell your own car. I think the CarMax business model is a strong one as long as they keep people first (both employees and customers), and the Warwick-Cranston location appears to be very well managed! I know that I could have asked and received even more money for my car by selling it myself. But CarMax is an opportunity to do myself a favor and to sustain some excellent employment opportunities for others. It was Jared’s first time managing a sale and learning their system, and I think he has an excellent temperament and did a great job! I brought my dad with me, who knows a lot about business, and he too was impressed with their operation. Thank you!

Got a few online quotes,but needed to do in person,from the first one in early may to the 2nd one in early June,my offer increased $1000 , this is the easiest way to sell a car.. would do again in a heartbeat. While my dad was there ,they did an offer for his car as well. Best way to do it is schedule an appointment ahead of time, takes less time doing it this way.

I originally went there to hopefully purchase my dream car. Nadiene, who has helped my husband and I several times along with this time went once again above and beyond. Honestly, anyone one including my husband and I when ever it is time for one of us to either trade in our cars or buy another, family friends etc... the only person I will recommend to them is Nadiene. She is so down to earth, she does anything and everything she can to help you get into the car that you want. She knew how much I wanted my Jeep Wrangler and she did absolutely everything to make that happen. I drove off the lot with it that very day! An all around good and down to earth person and an amazing worker!

Best car buying experience!I stopped here after a day of visiting other car lots, and haggling with sales people that didnt listen to me. It was a busy Saturday afternoon. There were no sales reps available, but the manager Eric took care of me right away. I found a car I liked, it was being held for someone else due in that day, so Eric took the time to help me look on their site and find something else, a much better deal IMO, down in VA, I had it shipped in and drove it when it arrived, and made the purchase the same night. Janet De Luca was my rep for the purchase, and she was AMAZING! Coming in on her day off when I had to come back to finish the purchase due a bank issue. Going the extra miles to help me understand the entire process! I felt I got a fair price for my trade in, and was extremely happy with the value on the new car. They stepped up and replaced the battery, when it was found to be bad, and gave me an additional key at no cost to me. They were awesome, and I loved the experience I had!!!

The Warwick office was ridiculously understaffed! I had already received an appraisal for my vehicle and had made a 4:00 PM appointment to sell it but I was kept waiting for more than 90 minutes before someone actually began the process with me. The additional hour that it took to confirm the appraisal and complete the paperwork was expected but the 90+ minute delay before being assisted was completely unwarranted.

Worst used car place to go! Nothing but nightmare experiences with them. Bought a 2013 durango here that got damaged in shipping to here. They had it 34 days to fix minor body damaged. Macco kept doing poor body work and it got sent back to them 4 times before I got tired of a $500 monthly car payment and no car! Tried giving them a second chance, looked at a 2014 durango that had no accidents the whole front end had been replaced and three doors repainted. Body lines where off everywhere on the front. And yet they were stuck 4k over the kbb for excellent condition. Wasted my time and money here! Do yourself a solid, and avoid carmax at ALL COSTS! From the taillight being scratched, the bumper gauge being broken on the right side, peeling paint, to screwdriver gouges on the hitch receiver skirt and paint runs! Piss poor work and carmax usually said I didnt see anything wrong with it, its ready for pickup

Was a fairly seamless experience, one of the best parts was that after all the paperwork they took care of everything else. Title, tags, emissions, plates, everything. Carmax in RI was wonderful! Coming off a horrible experience from the last time I bought a car it was like night and day. They let me take my time looking at the car and there was no pressure to purchase at all while we were there. Jonatan there was amazing! I was able to go home no hassle with just a price quote - thats the way it should be! I really needed time to consider this purchase especially since the last time I purchased a car from a different dealer I was swindled out of a lot of money and received a car I couldnt drive. Everyone at Carmax RI was friendly from the moment we walked in the door even though I was very nervous I would be pressured to buy that day, I was not at all which made me feel very comfortable. I will likely be purchasing my vehicle from Carmax RI now because of well they treated me.We did spend a couple of hours there for a test drive, but the staff was very attentive and let us know how long we were going to wait and how many people were in front of us etc. When we did sit down with Jonatan the process was not long at all. Most importantly I got to take my time with the car received a very transparent quote. I believe their price is fixed so just know that going in, but I was given a list with all of the taxes and fees so I know exactly what Im paying and why.

I would not advise anyone car shop with this Carmax location. Save yourself the headache. ZERO STARS!!!! Carmax is a great chain. BUT this store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 30+ years in the industry. Zero follow up or communication from phone calls or emails for the last 3 months. They dont even respond to corporate calls and emails from other Carmax stores. They should just close this store and send everyone to the N Attleboro location. Do yourself a favor and take the 20 min drive To N. Attleboro and save yourself the headaches!!!

Purchased a car on 03/13/21 from the Cranston RI location. Car was presented in a nice fashion, drove well, had a warranty and return policy if it didn’t work out. The finance process was easy; CarMax’s Bank approved the loan I wasn’t given/shown any other offers from any other institutions. Either way I was still happy and trusted they wouldn’t take advantage...I trusted them blindly. The day after I drove off the lot with the car it stalled out at a red light. I was concerned but trusted they would do the right thing. I called them the next morning (important to note even if you call a local phone number your call is always fed into a call center unless you know someone’s extension and they don’t give those out willingly you have to ask) I was on hold for 20 mins before I got to a rep told him about what happened and he offered me an appointment with their mechanic for April 7th to look at my car....I couldn’t believe they would make me wait two weeks to have a car I just bought two days ago looked at. I was upset; requested a manager to call me back. Janelle from the Cranston location called me back she offered to have it brought back the same day and would give me a loaner in the meantime.Two days into having the loaner I was stuck with a dead battery the car wouldn’t start. I text the Cranston store; and then called the phone number waited on hold with customer service 20 mins before I called AAA and had them jump the loaner. I didn’t get a call back from Carmax regarding the dead battery until a full hour after AAA had saved me.Meanwhile I consistently inquired on the status of my actual car I bought...I was told they couldn’t replicate the issue then was told it was being sent to an outside mechanic bc they didn’t have the time to work on it. All the while being reassured that all was well and they anticipated I would be able to pickup my car soon. Fast forward to the weekend of 03/18 I was told the car was on its way back from the other mechanic and I would be able to pick up Saturday. I was told the mechanic would call me in the morning after the final test drive. Saturday afternoon no one called me. So I reached out again. This time I was told the car had transmission issues and could no longer be sold to me. They offered assistance in finding another car that was similar; but suddenly they had no inventory in the price point I was looking at. I inquired about matching the price to a car that was being sold for a little more I was told flat out “we do not negotiate prices”. Then was advised that if I selected a car that was a little younger in age/higher in price I might get a better apr from the bank. While this may have been intended as helpful to some; it gave me the feeling of bait and switch and I was never offered anything other than that. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same as well!

Depends what experience you mean. I did a unique transaction.I was in an accident in RI and spent 11 days in Rhode Island hospital. I grew up in RI but live in New Orleans and since my injuries prevented flying, I had to plan for driving. I decided to trade in two cars in New Orleans through my fiance and buy one in RI.The RI experience was a little tougher. Some people I spoke with seemed to not be trained as well as they should have. Finally I met Janet and she was amazing!In New Orleans it was a much more attentive process. Hugo was so good! So attentive and knowledgeable and continued to keep in touch to follow up.It took long in both places, much longer than I thought it should have but the deal got done.

A great business concept. Do your research price wise as their price is non negotiable. It could be higher than other places for the same vehicle. However, I was impressed with a 7 day return policy, no questions asked, a thing which made me look into Carmax. Test drove the car in MA, liked it, and asked for a transfer to RI. I ended up buying it. I also took it to my mechanic who found the car perfect. No complaints so far, time will tell....., but they deserve 5 stars from me.
