This place is one of our favorite neighborhood diners. The food here is really good. We mostly order breakfast. My husband loves the Athenian skillet. I get the more traditional 2 country eggs meal that comes with a side of delicious pancakes.The staffmembers are super friendly and make you feel like family. When you go ask to be seated in Barbs section. She is a hoot.
We had prompt polite service. The onion rings were great. I wanted the stuffed pepper that was on special at first, but was tempted away from it by an placed Rueben. The sandwich was just OK. I should have ordered the pepper, but that was on me, the specials are always the best. The coffee was very good.
Went there with a couple of friends. We each had something different and each of us loved their meals! If anybody is looking for liver and onions, this is the place to go! Excellent service too, and reasonable prices.

The server was so warm and friendly that it made our experience a memorable one. They actually serve wine and cocktails 🍸, which I never knew before. A+

I ordered a turkey burger and you can taste that it was a frozen flat patty, not how a fresh burger should look. Split pea soup was mediocre and could of used more flavor.Overall the decor was nice with that older feel to it and felt comfortable and staff was very pleasant.

This is my go to breakfast spot on Sundays. The waitresses all know my finances and I and the food is always hot and fresh. The prices are affordable and the food is always good.

Everything was great, and it was almost a perfect 5 stars, however, the vegetables were undercooked. Everything else, however, was fantastic, and I would recommend this to anyone with a small party or group.
Nice neighborhood restaurant with a great Chopped Steak meal that was totally delicious! Breakfast I’m not too crazy about but lunch and dinners are good. I have been back lately and ordered breakfast and I can say it has been greatly improved as of October 2021 .. so now it’s my go too place for breakfast again.
Wide variety of dishes in great portions at reasonable prices! Food quality is above average and wait staff is friendly and attentive. The casual family atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. 4.21 stars...Consistent Greek diner. Always good soup and salads. Good service and management. Entree portion size generous. Warm bread and plenty of butter on table was a pleasant surprise. Lunch and dinner specials are on a separate menu. Look for breakfast specials on the main menu...Parking lot can get full, but try the south end. Desserts look good but are mainly just sweet. All salads are generously portioned and the homemade creamy garlic dressing was yummy. Many breakfast choices and entrées to choose from. Pepper beef, Sea Bass, Cod, Fettuccine Alfredo(serving was huge) the chopped steak and all breakfasts were good so far. Julienne salad is huge as well! Papa Nickolas Coffee offered is really good. Bathrooms were okay and clean but wheelchair entry barely possible without door help. Accessible main entry Door is available for those in need. Two dinner specials with beverages were $35+ cash tip...

Arrived close to closing and they treated us like we were the first customers of the day. Genel was our waitress and recommended the chicken panini which was delicious. The restaurant looked clean and theyve taken the necessary precautions for covid. We have been dining here for years and will continue to enjoy Dappers East.

I dont like it. I think their food is horrible. It is extremely bland. I told that to the management and they informed me that they do not season any of their food. I left and ate somewhere else.
Very spacious interior, attention, hard working staff and just your classic American-diner styled restaurant with a nice menu selection, great lunch specials and nice clean environment. Great soup (I had the beef and barley one) and my cuban sandwhich was ginormous (NOT a bad thing). Absolutely recommend if you like these rype of restaurants!
Perfectly cooked Chop Steak special, with fresh vegetables. Soup or salad and fresh desserts included. I picked the apple pie. All for under 12.00. Ill be back, lots of comfort food. Friendly service

I have always loved this place as it is more of a tradition with my parents than anything, I did notice the ham of the bone portion has gotten drastically smaller...a pity, it used to be really good, the sunnyside eggs are a bit runny... and may I say a bit greasier, overall? Other than that the lovely ladies/servers are always a delight, very good service.
I love Dappers. Erika is an especially good waitress and remembers our preferences. My wife and I eat there at least once a week.
This place is fine but the service is horrible. Really felt uncomfortable having to chase down a server to order after having to wait over almost 20 mins. Then they would try to avoid eye contact with us so we had to chase them down for refills. Unfortunate as I used to enjoy Dappers but I guess Ill have to dine elsewhere, fortunately this being Chicago there is options. Best of luck!
Great food just like home made. The excellent staff especially SP, shes off Thursday and Saturday so I make sure to sit in her section. She knows exactly jow and what we need as soon as we sit down. Shes like one of the family. The chefs are so very creative and good. Love the food and the place. Highly recommended.

This place Is amazing! They give so much food for the price, there is enough for the next day. The staff was friendly and efficient! Strawberry stuffed French today is to die for, and chicken avocado panini was excellent! In my neighborhood so Ive been here a few times!! Keep an eye out tho or you might miss it!
The food is awesome. Salmon with vegetables, and baked potato, with sour cream and salt is really good. It is healthy for kids and adults. Appetizer bread and butter. Dessert is included with the meal. For adults cake and for kids ice-cream. The salmon is well cooked, medium cooked, or however you want it. The meal either comes with rice soup or salad. The potato is hot and delicious with sour cream and salt. The vegetables are cooked or either raw but not bad. Try the cake choose which ever you want. Chocolate Cake is the best of all of them but you could get Jello. For kids is ice-cream not cake but possibly Jello. I really recommend going there. It is better than other restaurants. They clean it well enough and have good service. They include the dessert which is the best. I will really return back here.
Dappers holds memories of good times and great food. I enjoyed the food this visit just as well. Large portions and very tasty. I enjoy this place and suggest it to others.

I live in Addison, a mile away from Dapper’s on Lake Street. I inadvertently ordered from Dapper’s East. Best mistake I ever made. The omelette, steak and shrimp were outstanding! I’ll be back!!!
Always order the chef skillet when I go here. Great food, definitely better then IHOP or any breakfast chain. With good portion sizes and reasonable prices. A calm environment where you can unwind and relax.

Great restaurant especially for senior citizens. The cost for a delicious meal is very reasonable. The waitstaff are very helpful and are always there with suggestions to help you choose to eat. Sorry to say but when I arrived there I was told by a staff person that they had an electrical outage and were not accepting new customers. The same thing happened at the Target store in the mall. They had to close the store. August 11, 2020.
Unfortunately this place is going down in quality. I only wanted a fresh piece of cake, as it said on my check, but what I got was a 4 day old piece of German Chocolate cake. The brown icing which should have been consistent in both color and texture, came with two tones. Not of the high quality I have come to expect from Dappers.Then, after mentioning it to the person in response to his question as to how was everything, he decided to defend the old cake and even told me it came in on a different date than when it actually arrived. Double whammy for negative stuff.If youre considering good cake dont consider this place unless you ask how fresh is fresh and find out when it arrived. Day old stuff was usually sold at a lesser price. Four day old should be discarded and not sold.

Good food and large portions
This is our favorite breakfast spot. We have been going there for over 12 years they have seen our youngest son grow up. What was great was we told them it was his birthday and his waitress that knew him from when he was smaller. She brought him out dessert with a candle on it. But not only that they treat you like family. And the food is so good, we all are pleased with what we get when we order. From the pork chop breakfast to the regular breakfast, the Spartan omelet everything is delicious!
